00:00:00.320 What brought about this very, because I understand it was a very sudden move.
00:00:04.580 You saw a window of opportunity and you and your husband felt you needed to get out of the country.
00:00:09.000 Give us a bit of the story of what your kids were experiencing.
00:00:12.660 What had happened was my son started going to school and, you know, they said, no, they have to wear a mask.
00:00:20.800 And I wrote in his agenda multiple times, he's not permitted to wear a mask.
00:00:25.300 I wasn't going to go get a an exemption.
00:00:30.400 I didn't feel like it was necessary to play their game.
00:00:33.140 I just said, I'm your parent.
00:00:34.980 I'm saying you're not allowed.
00:00:37.040 That's enough for me.
00:00:38.780 So the school phoned back and they said, you know, he's going to need an exemption.
00:00:44.260 And I'm just like, yeah, yeah.
00:00:45.240 OK, so I kept sending him without a mask.
00:00:48.480 And so they started giving him a mask.
00:00:50.540 And he came home and he's like, yeah, they give me masks every day, but I just throw them out.
00:00:57.140 I was like, oh, God bless you, you little little hero.
00:01:01.140 And then they started sending him in cloth masks so that maybe he would feel guilty about throwing them out or something.
00:01:09.500 I don't know if it's just manipulation, right?
00:01:14.740 And they were singling him out in the hallways.
00:01:19.240 They were singling him out in classes.
00:01:21.700 And I felt, you know what, this is getting to the point where I'm like, I'm ready to break here or do something drastic.
00:01:31.900 I wanted to pull him from school entirely originally, but we had a couple of things to complete and I was still working full time.
00:01:39.920 But back in September, at the beginning of the school year, I had a friend who tested positive for COVID and I'd already gone through COVID and I wasn't scared of it or anything like that.
00:01:50.100 So I dropped her off some food, some groceries, vitamins, whatever.
00:01:55.640 And somehow my boss decided that that was me endangering my coworkers and fired me.
00:02:02.060 So that was October 6th, so almost a month after the incident, when he found out about it, he fired me pretty much instantly as soon as he found out.
00:02:12.720 So no time to discuss, nothing, but they paid a severance, so it's all legal, right?
00:02:20.420 That plus they were going to close the borders on October 31st.
00:02:25.960 But then they blinked for a second, giving us an extra month.
00:02:29.460 My children hadn't had their passports.
00:02:32.440 My husband's was expired.
00:02:34.800 When we were looking at that, we said, you know what, we're free.
00:02:39.020 We're free now.
00:02:39.860 Like the bonds are gone.
00:02:41.200 My husband lost his job to, you know, COVID back in March of 2020.
00:02:47.800 And there was nothing holding us back anymore.
00:02:51.720 The way that my children were being treated in school,
00:02:55.420 even just for not believing in the danger of it.
00:03:00.100 Like they just, they weren't afraid of COVID and that was a problem somehow.
00:03:06.220 So they said, you know what, that's enough.
00:03:09.280 We're going.
00:03:10.200 It's almost like a different world in some countries.
00:03:12.940 I've heard so many say, you know, there's no measures.
00:03:16.560 Life is as usual.
00:03:20.360 And I can see why that's an extreme step to take to get your kids into a different environment.
00:03:27.120 And so we just thank you for coming on tonight and sharing some of your story.
00:03:31.960 I just want people to understand the mindset for some families in Canada.
00:03:37.480 We've heard about quite a few people who have left.
00:03:40.780 And so your husband loses his job.
00:03:42.540 You lose your job.
00:03:43.840 Your kids are being abused in the hallways.
00:03:47.260 And it does get to a point.
00:03:49.400 You know, a lot of people are hunkering down and staying here in Canada and doing the fight.
00:03:53.540 And I want to respond to something.
00:03:55.020 You know, I saw Sharon.
00:03:56.120 I don't get to see much of the chat going on.
00:03:58.360 But Sharon was like, oh, you know what?
00:04:00.040 She can hardly stand to listen to what is going on with us tonight,
00:04:04.300 talking about our kids and our masks and et cetera.
00:04:06.940 But Sharon, with all respect, I want you to know that the truckers, yes, you're indeed right.
00:04:12.940 They're trying to take them down in Ottawa tonight, and it's very serious.
00:04:16.380 But so is what's going on with our kids.
00:04:18.940 And I've been working two years trying to reach out to parents.
00:04:22.980 People would say, I hope you get COVID and die in March, April, May, June, July of 2020,
00:04:27.960 because I was on the front line speaking out against this.
00:04:31.060 And I was trying to advocate for our kids, saying this is abusive.
00:04:34.480 It's going to cause a lot of harm.
00:04:36.000 And it did.
00:04:37.280 The psychological situation is that youth, children and youth, are in the highest percentage now,
00:04:43.980 the highest status of suicide amongst all age groups is our children and youth.
00:04:51.060 Nine-year-olds are trying to commit suicide.
00:04:52.920 They can't cope anymore.
00:04:54.640 And so the reason that we're doing this program tonight, with all respect for what's going on in Ottawa,
00:05:00.500 is because these are the men on the front line.
00:05:02.700 And I'm trying to reach out to groups of people who will actually take advantage of what they're doing and not comply any longer.
00:05:09.680 I have been in meetings with teachers in the past several weeks, pleading with them to please, 30 to 40% of them, 30%, walk off the job and say no more.
00:05:21.460 These adults aren't willing to do that.
00:05:23.720 There are some.
00:05:24.360 There are a handful who are ready to go.
00:05:25.860 And the problem is, is that we are going to waste what the truckers are doing if the rest of Canadians don't do what's within their power to do.
00:05:35.260 And so, again, Sharon, I love, I respect your comment, but at the same time, this is critical, what we're doing here tonight.
00:05:43.780 And I wish that there was 10,000 people on this call.
00:05:47.160 That would show more of an effect that parents understand that this is a movement we all need to do together.
00:05:53.540 So we have chapters across Canada, and we meet with those chapters.
00:05:57.580 We've got about 140, and it's growing.
00:05:59.980 And when we meet, we say, these are the campaigns.
00:06:03.380 One of them is to start helping give kids a voice in their community.
00:06:07.740 Reach out to parents.
00:06:08.680 Get flyers out there.
00:06:09.860 Organize.
00:06:10.740 Help them to stand up and get these masks off their face.
00:06:14.100 I want to see our kids' faces again.
00:06:15.780 I want to see them smile.
00:06:17.120 I want to see their hearts and soul breathe again, not just physically.
00:06:21.900 It's critical.
00:06:29.980 Come away.
00:06:37.740 All right.
00:06:38.620 All right.
00:06:38.940 anticrates
