Action4Canada - Should Pickering, ON Mayor Ashe and Councillor Brenner be Fired？

00:00:00.000 this is how violent brenner can be when he thinks no one is listening

00:00:11.900 who is he referring to in the conversation hint could he be referring to pickering strong mayor

00:00:18.620 kevin ash they looked at it through the lens of diversity i'm not able to tell is that

00:00:29.900 mannequin caucasian or non-caucasian i would have to through you marriage i would have to verify with

00:00:37.500 museum staff however i do believe it is a caucasian mannequin did they look at the

00:00:44.920 but you're not sure and i'm not sure so i guess what i'm saying is i don't have a problem

00:00:50.620 supporting the report tonight with the exclusion of that mannequin is counselor brenner suggesting

00:00:57.760 that if a mannequin is determined to be a caucasian mannequin that it has no relevance to the history

00:01:03.480 of pickering and should be discarded you and i had a conversation in your chambers and you were the

00:01:11.280 one who directly told me that counselor brenner was having a very busy weekend running around

00:01:16.780 gathering signatures i don't i i don't recall that conversation of course you don't he doesn't recall

00:01:23.380 the conversation wow is he experiencing memory loss again but i'm also not surprised by the fact that

00:01:30.780 this is being hosted by two community associations from north one why is that important because that's

00:01:38.440 what i believe in ladies and gentlemen i believe in community building our city is beautiful we've got

00:01:44.560 so much potential but we've got unfortunately a lot of challenges ahead of us i'm just figuring out

00:01:50.580 how i can sharpen my sword and decapitate the mother i will also be speaking about 0.87

00:01:56.780 sexual harassment and about violations of harassment in the workplace 0.55

00:02:02.480 to the human rights and i mean i just want to reiterate something that i said at a council meeting

00:02:11.140 a while ago is that you know counselor brenner had threatened me earlier last year that he would

00:02:17.480 that he would stick a knife in my back and slowly twist it and i would never know until he was

00:02:24.840 pulling it out now sir okay so in my opinion then um i would just like to say that this is just another

00:02:32.300 one of those twists of that knife in my back thank you okay thank you i don't think that's an appropriate

00:02:38.380 ending to your debate uh counselor brenner thank you very much mr mayor um i can understand why the

00:02:46.160 counselor feels it's about her but i can tell you i wish i could take credit for this but i can't

00:02:51.940 um the matter that is before us is correspondence that is consistent with the positions taken by this

00:02:59.640 council as well as the region of durham in support of the need for the province of ontario to change

00:03:06.940 the legislation for greater accountability for all elected officials i've just figured out how i can

00:03:13.320 sharpen my sword and decapitate them and that's covered up in the mandate of the ontario human rights

00:03:18.780 commission to be really clear this is not an investigation into the conduct of counselor 0.97

00:03:24.640 robinson that's already been done by an integrity commissioner notice how strong mayor

00:03:29.720 kevin ash did not address counselor robinson's allegation about a threat of possible serious injury from a knife

00:03:35.160 slowly twisted into her back or about any investigations also counselor brenner did not

00:03:41.080 deny the accusation or defend himself is anyone paying close attention to this does the city paid

00:03:48.220 integrity commissioner have a great track record of conducting fair and unbiased investigations

00:03:52.920 are you in favor of the extension of quote strong mayor powers in pickering kevin no

00:04:03.480 kevin ash lied is this an observable pattern with kevin how many other times has he lied to the people

00:04:15.840 if you are elected man would you ask queen's part for these powers to be extended to you

00:04:22.180 and what would you use them for thanks for the question uh if i have the privilege of being

00:04:27.980 pickering's fifth mayor on october 24th you will have a strong mayor you won't need the power being

00:04:34.900 granted uh from queen's part i would not support the extension of strong power uh responsibilities 0.99

00:04:42.160 are asked to the city of pickering he does it again wow

00:04:47.080 well you say it's not in the report but it's not in the report the director of city please don't

00:04:53.900 raise your voice at me mr mayor i don't deserve to have my voice raised to a moment director of

00:04:58.640 personal privilege please please stop raising your voice at me i am not raising my voice at you

00:05:04.080 please continue you're just raising your voice at me everyone will be able to hear it

00:05:09.180 this is the concept no i'm not going down the rabbit hole this is not a rabbit hole

00:05:14.600 it's on the federal government's website please mr mayor on the crazy street

00:05:19.320 you should be very proud lisa very proud not cases you bring in here

00:05:25.280 yeah 0.84

00:05:27.300 yeah unbelievable you're you're you're you should be ashamed of yourself

00:05:35.580 is this a pattern where mayor kevin ash speaks down and name calls his constituents 0.55

00:05:39.960 i'm sorry i need a moment of personal privilege

00:05:43.820 while you're talking i have the mayor telling me you want to know what a conspiracy or right-wing

00:05:49.820 theory is they're talking about you like that up here right now i've got mumbles here mumbles here

00:05:55.220 and i have the mayor talking about how poorly this is i appreciate your delegation sir

00:06:00.500 can i ask if they're not secret meanings why don't we have the minutes for them because they're in

00:06:06.200 camera and there's okay semantics again so but but then so they're they're in camera so for the

00:06:13.360 record in camera secret they're just semantics they don't they don't publish the exactly so

00:06:19.620 agenda and they're orderly done just just so we get that um so they are secret because we don't have

00:06:26.980 an agenda for them actually true well but when there's public when there's things that have to

00:06:32.120 be announced in public they're done if there's legal advice given that's not yes but the whole

00:06:36.940 meeting didn't have to be in camera just well we have we we have four specific exemptions on the

00:06:43.120 municipal act i know that and we do them uh in accordance with that and the city clerk is

00:06:47.540 independent of council in regards to that you were you were deputy mayor at one point and what did

00:06:52.620 you do you you broke the rules is that the way to run a city how so what are you what are you

00:06:58.460 kevin went on a trip when it was covid so i'm just saying you you don't always go oh i have

00:07:06.100 experience and and no it's it's if you're going to play by the rules you have to play by the rules

00:07:11.580 and you know what sometimes we need fresh look at it we you bring bad habits with you when you've

00:07:18.360 been there for a long time rules for thee but not for me according to kevin ash

00:07:22.720 mayor kevin ash thinks it would be nice if councillor lisa robinson followed the lead of

00:07:29.080 durham district school board trustee linda stone who recently resigned from her position

00:07:33.300 is mayor ash afraid of councillor lisa robinson speaking the truth

00:07:37.840 no we're voting against all of the capital projects all of the current uh current budget and

00:07:47.660 expenditures that's correct that's correct thank you and uh i um recorded vote um requested by

00:07:56.780 i'm just following the hockey game and the leafs just won in overtime so

00:07:59.920 they won in overtime yes um my apologies i know the budget is important but uh some some of the

00:08:09.660 some other things the budget is very important hundreds of millions of dollars i repeat hundreds

00:08:17.880 of millions of dollars wow 0.93

00:08:20.720 i'm just figuring out how i can sharpen my sword and decapitate the 1.00

00:08:39.660 you 1.00

00:08:41.720 you

00:08:42.720 you

00:08:44.720 you
