As a Christian, the rainbow is a huge part of God's promise in the Bible, which is why it is sad to see that it has been twisted and usurped as the LGBTQ symbol. Rainbows are a sign of hope, joy, and God's loving mercy.

00:00:00.000 Hello, my name is Genevieve. As a Christian, the rainbow is a huge part of God's promise in the
00:00:07.560 Bible, which is why it is sad to see that it has been twisted and usurped as the LGBTQ symbol. 0.52
00:00:13.980 Children love rainbows. The devil enjoys this tactic of destroying innocence and beauty. This
00:00:21.600 is why it is important for us to think about each of the colors as they represent something to help
00:00:26.940 us refocus on God. Red could symbolize the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who died on the
00:00:34.680 cross to save us from our sins. In Romans 5, 9, it says, having now been justified by his blood,
00:00:41.880 we shall be saved from wrath through him. The color orange could represent Moses hearing God speak to
00:00:49.200 him through the burning bush. He revealed himself to Moses so he could free the Israelites from Egypt. 0.69
00:00:55.020 Like in Exodus 3, 2, Moses looked, there was the bush blazing, but it was not being burnt up.
00:01:03.240 Yellow could represent the star of Bethlehem, when Jesus was born in the stable. When they saw the
00:01:09.300 star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy, Matthew 2, 10. Green could represent the Garden of
00:01:16.040 Eden. Adam and Eve were in a sinless paradise until they ate the fruit from the tree and sin came into
00:01:21.900 the world. Revelations 2, 7 promises us, to him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the 0.94
00:01:29.600 tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. Blue could represent the great flood to purge all evil
00:01:37.900 from the earth. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a
00:01:43.600 standard against him. Isaiah 59, 19. Purple symbolizes royalty, signifying Jesus as the Son of God, Prince
00:01:52.820 of Peace. Revelation 17, 14 states, He is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, and with him will be his
00:02:01.360 called, chosen and faithful followers. We are being bombarded with twisted views of the rainbow. Let's reflect on its
00:02:11.320 original meaning and associate the colors back to God. There are many passages in the Bible that help
00:02:17.900 us meditate on God's love and mercy. Rainbows are a sign of hope, joy, and God's loving mercy.
00:02:26.160 Genesis 9, 13 says, I have set my rainbow in the clouds and it will be a sign of the covenant between
00:02:32.600 me and the earth. Thank you.
