Transcript

00:00:00.000 It's such an honor to introduce you to this evening's guest, Ms. Glynis D'Souza.
00:00:08.080 Glynis is the CEO of Glynis D'Souza Personal Development, as well as a distinguished Toastmaster
00:00:15.000 who has served in several leadership positions at Toastmasters International.
00:00:19.960 She is a certified John Maxwell speaker, trainer, and coach who is committed to empowering and
00:00:26.060 developing strong leaders and teaching them how to speak and lead effectively.
00:00:32.500 Glynis has conducted several youth leadership programs for various organizations, including
00:00:37.720 Action for Canada's Youth Leadership and Speaker Program, which was held in February and March
00:00:43.700 of this year.
00:00:44.760 And we're looking forward to her leading the upcoming youth course, which will be starting
00:00:49.300 next Friday, April 21st.
00:00:51.800 Glynis is an engaging and motivating teacher and speaker with a wealth of experience to
00:00:57.780 share with others.
00:00:58.900 And we're so pleased she's able to join us today.
00:01:01.660 Hello, Glynis, and welcome to the Empower Hour.
00:01:04.920 Thank you so much, Heather.
00:01:05.960 And thank you for having me on, Tanya and the Action for Canada team.
00:01:10.560 It's a pleasure to be here.
00:01:12.940 Such a treat to have you on, Glynis.
00:01:15.780 And I have just been so amazed in participating in those Friday night events, the five-week
00:01:23.780 program.
00:01:24.300 I had to miss a couple because I was traveling.
00:01:26.160 But when you take a look at the kids that first show up, and these are the ones that
00:01:31.320 are showing up for the first time.
00:01:32.460 We do have some who are repeats, like Genevieve, who will be on tonight.
00:01:37.060 And then you look at the process of what can be accomplished in simply five weeks.
00:01:43.020 It's absolutely amazing.
00:01:44.520 So I want to hand the floor over to you.
00:01:47.220 And if you could just let our viewers know what took place during the last session, then
00:01:53.040 we're going to bring the youth on.
00:01:54.280 And later on, you can come back on, and we're going to hear about what's going to be included
00:01:58.360 in the next session.
00:02:00.540 Okay, great.
00:02:01.680 Thank you so much, Tanya.
00:02:02.600 I'm just looking at my clock because I want to make sure that I stay within the time limit.
00:02:07.720 Hello, everybody.
00:02:08.860 And my name is Glynis D'Souza.
00:02:10.740 I'm so passionate about youth empowerment.
00:02:13.380 And it was such a pleasure to deliver this five-week program that started on the 10th
00:02:19.840 of February, and it ended on the 10th of March.
00:02:22.680 We conducted it on over Zoom, 90-minute sessions, and we had quite a few, I don't know the exact
00:02:30.680 number, but quite a few youth joined.
00:02:34.060 We had, and this is what we did.
00:02:36.480 You know, because John Maxwell, who is my mentor in communication, we're part of the John Maxwell
00:02:41.280 team worldwide, he says that everyone communicates, but few connect.
00:02:48.000 And so the connection is what we want for our youth.
00:02:52.900 And so we conducted the youth speaker and leader program in order to teach youth to have a voice
00:02:59.120 and to connect with their audience.
00:03:01.880 Because as you know, and you've seen, kids are under attack these days, and the best way
00:03:05.980 to fight back is through effective communication.
00:03:08.260 So this was level one of our speaker and leader program hosted by Action for Canada.
00:03:16.320 And we covered the following topics.
00:03:19.700 So in first week, we conducted a little bit of an icebreaker where they got to know one
00:03:25.840 another.
00:03:26.460 They were introduced, they introduced themselves to each other.
00:03:30.140 And then we covered in every session, one public speaking tip, and one leadership lesson.
00:03:39.660 So in the first session, for example, we covered overcoming the fear of public speaking.
00:03:46.040 Because as you know, you probably know that the greatest fear of any person is speaking
00:03:54.400 in public, like that's called glossophobia.
00:03:56.640 And sometimes they say it's even worse than the fear of dying.
00:04:00.060 So we need to make sure to give them tips to overcome the fear.
00:04:04.480 And so we gave them tips on how to do that.
00:04:07.040 And the leadership lesson we did that week was choices.
00:04:11.900 Making good choices and practicing them.
00:04:15.400 Because I believe that it's not, it's important to teach them public speaking.
00:04:18.580 But when you introduce that leadership component, it takes it to the next level.
00:04:22.800 Because the hardest person to lead is yourself, right?
00:04:29.360 And so we did that.
00:04:31.280 We talked about making good choices, overcoming the fear of public speaking.
00:04:36.060 And then one important thing we did in the first session was the DISC personality assessment.
00:04:42.340 So it's called the Youth Exploratory Report.
00:04:45.400 We are licensed to teach that through the John Maxwell team.
00:04:49.780 And we help them answer, they have to answer 19 questions.
00:04:54.700 And after that, they get a report on whether they are a D, I, S, or a C personality.
00:05:00.800 And that report, they got a chance to take it with them.
00:05:04.540 It has even some possible career choices.
00:05:07.900 What are some of the growth areas that they can watch for as well?
00:05:10.840 So if you're a parent and you didn't see that report, you know, check in the handouts, it'll be there.
00:05:17.720 So we did that because how will you ever learn your style of communication if you don't know who you are, right?
00:05:23.660 And so that's the thing that we always do in the first session, the Youth Exploratory Report.
00:05:29.780 And so we gave them some meeting notes, roles as well.
00:05:33.300 You know, we appointed a joke master.
00:05:35.040 And we had a little fun there as well because kids learn, youth learn through having fun.
00:05:41.700 I believe that.
00:05:43.000 And so we need to have, provide that happy and fun learning experience for them.
00:05:49.400 So that was the first one.
00:05:50.700 And then they had assignments.
00:05:52.720 So every session, they had a handout.
00:05:56.060 And then they were sent, of course, the recordings of that session.
00:05:58.960 And then they had an assignment.
00:06:00.940 So the assignment for that week, we taught them how to introduce themselves in an icebreaker speech.
00:06:10.560 What are some of the components of an icebreaker speech?
00:06:13.260 And so they were told to work on their icebreaker speeches and deliver it in session number two.
00:06:20.460 And so when we came back in session two, we had to, they had to deliver their speeches.
00:06:28.380 But they also had to reflect on what they learned in the first session.
00:06:34.100 So reflection is a very important portion of learning.
00:06:39.080 It's a very important component because you don't want them to just learn in the session.
00:06:43.220 You need them to reflect during the week.
00:06:45.820 And so every handout had some good reflection questions on the leadership portion.
00:06:51.660 For example, what choices they made during the week?
00:06:55.020 How did they choose their actions?
00:06:57.700 And so they had a little bit of a sharing as to what reflection they did the past week.
00:07:03.260 So that was the beginning of the second session.
00:07:05.620 Then they delivered their icebreaker speeches.
00:07:07.780 And that was really a treat to watch because they were, we use the breakout portion of the Zoom.
00:07:15.880 And that's really fantastic to use that because they're in a smaller group of about four or five.
00:07:21.900 And they're a little more comfortable in a smaller setting.
00:07:25.000 So this whole program worked through learning by doing.
00:07:30.080 It's not just me talking.
00:07:31.700 They actually did it.
00:07:33.060 They actually delivered their icebreaker speeches in the second session.
00:07:37.580 And then the leadership portion of the second session was the power of personal growth.
00:07:43.860 So when we talked about choices in the first session, we likened a choice to a gift.
00:07:51.100 I showed them a gift.
00:07:53.040 And the gift is no use if it's not open.
00:07:56.340 Similarly, choices are no good if we don't choose to make a choice, right?
00:08:00.780 And so in the growth, in the personal growth session, in number two, in session two, we likened personal growth to a plant.
00:08:09.700 The seeds that you put into the soil, it needs the right environment to grow.
00:08:15.800 So that's the leadership portion we talked about.
00:08:19.780 Know how to be the gardener of your personal growth by planting and growing your values and your strengths.
00:08:26.720 The seeds are likened to the values.
00:08:30.100 And then the public speaking portion we learned in session number two was impromptu speaking.
00:08:37.400 Now, if you think that prepared speaking is scary, impromptu speaking takes it to a whole new level.
00:08:43.660 Not preparing in advance, but like speaking off the cuff.
00:08:48.340 What are some of the tips on how to become a better impromptu speaker?
00:08:52.900 So that's what we learned in session two.
00:08:54.900 Okay.
00:08:56.720 So in impromptu speech, we had, we gave them some topics at the end of the session.
00:09:04.400 And we said, you know, just practice these during the week so that the next week when you come, we can then practice impromptu speaking.
00:09:14.340 Right?
00:09:14.940 So that's what we did in session number two.
00:09:17.000 When they came back in session three, again, we did a reflection on personal growth and what did you, what did they do to grow in their strengths.
00:09:27.260 And then we delivered, some people couldn't, some youth didn't get the chance or didn't get the time to prepare their icebreaker speeches in session two, or we ran out of time.
00:09:39.860 And so the remainder of the youth delivered their icebreaker speeches in session three, but we also had impromptu speaking in the breakout rooms.
00:09:50.540 And that was fun as well.
00:09:52.280 We had a moderator and a timer in each breakout room.
00:09:55.800 And so the youth, the participants were told to speak.
00:10:00.740 Now, did you know that if you speak for one minute, you are successful in overcoming nervousness.
00:10:09.900 But if you speak for just 30 seconds and you sit down, that means that you still haven't overcome your nervousness.
00:10:16.880 And so we encouraged them to speak for at least a minute on the impromptu topic.
00:10:23.220 Because that was fun.
00:10:24.120 And that was, the participants did so well.
00:10:28.300 In that session, in session number three, we also did how to craft a well-organized speech.
00:10:34.580 There is a technique in crafting a speech with a strong and a catchy opening, a body, and a conclusion.
00:10:44.000 And so we taught them how to craft the speech in session number three.
00:10:48.300 That was a packed session because we also taught them how to give proper feedback.
00:10:55.420 The art of giving proper feedback.
00:10:58.120 In Toastmasters, we call it evaluation.
00:11:00.920 But giving feedback is a skill because not only do you want to give a good, you know, it's not called criticism, but you want to give points for the speaker to improve.
00:11:14.440 But you also want to do it in a motivational fashion.
00:11:17.940 And so that's what we did.
00:11:19.080 So we did crafting a well-organized speech.
00:11:22.400 And then we did how to give proper feedback.
00:11:25.700 Two things in the public speaking portion.
00:11:28.140 And in the leadership portion that week in session three was, it was attitude.
00:11:36.680 Attitude is the paintbrush of the mind.
00:11:39.540 And so I showed them a painting which had bright colors, you know, a positive attitude, a painting with darker colors that could possibly signify a negative attitude.
00:11:51.020 And so we gave them tips and questions on how to choose a positive attitude, not only to help yourself, but to help others as well.
00:12:01.080 So the assignment for that week was to write a well-organized speech that they would then deliver in session number four.
00:12:09.280 And when we came back in session four, we, of course, had the reflection questions on how did they, what kind of attitude choices did they make?
00:12:20.200 And then, of course, they had to deliver their prepared speeches.
00:12:24.760 So, again, we use the breakout room.
00:12:26.740 And then we also learned and practiced the art of giving feedback.
00:12:33.500 Because remember, in session three, they learned how to give feedback.
00:12:36.420 So it was amazing to see in the breakout room, they took turns.
00:12:41.460 Some of them were speakers.
00:12:42.640 And then some of them were evaluators.
00:12:45.460 Or they gave feedback.
00:12:47.020 And then they switched on the role.
00:12:48.440 So everybody got a chance to speak and then to evaluate.
00:12:51.980 And so then in that session, week four, besides the delivery of the speeches, we also learned the leadership attitude of commitment.
00:13:03.580 Learning to be committed to finish what you started.
00:13:07.920 And you'll agree that is such an important value for youth these days, right?
00:13:12.340 I mean, for everybody.
00:13:13.920 But how many of us really are so enthusiastic about starting something, but then we don't finish it?
00:13:19.300 So that's the value that we learned that week, commitment.
00:13:22.940 And then in the public speaking portion, we learned about how to then deliver that well-organized speech.
00:13:30.820 How do you take your well-organized speech and then use hand gestures, body language, facial expressions, in order to really connect with your audience and deliver that speech?
00:13:44.740 So that's what we learned in session four.
00:13:47.780 And then finally, the culmination of the whole program was in session five.
00:13:54.680 It was a climax because we had contests.
00:13:57.600 And we were so excited, Sheila and I, when we were planning this because we didn't expect it.
00:14:04.040 But we got 10 prepared speeches.
00:14:07.640 And we had five contestants for impromptu speeches and three for our feedback contest.
00:14:16.460 So we had three contests.
00:14:18.320 Prepared speech contest, impromptu speech contest.
00:14:21.960 And then the third one was the feedback contest.
00:14:26.280 And the leadership session, the leadership value that we learned that week was consistency.
00:14:33.320 You know, consistency means that it's a continuous process, right?
00:14:37.900 Motivation gets you going, but discipline keeps you going and how to be consistent in all of the qualities that we learned, whether it's choices, attitude, or whether it is personal growth, commitment.
00:14:53.960 And so that consistency really wrapped it all up with a ribbon.
00:14:59.340 And so we had some prizes and you'll be able to see all the speeches.
00:15:04.360 So that in a nutshell was our five-week program.
00:15:07.700 And it was really amazing to see the results of it, as Tanya said.
00:15:13.820 So that's what I wanted to just let you know.
00:15:17.060 As parents, you know, what did your, you know, your youth take part in?
00:15:23.260 What did they learn?
00:15:24.320 But if your youth were not able to participate, then you do have a chance in our next session as well,
00:15:30.280 which we will tell you more about after the speeches today.
00:15:34.920 So the ultimate back to you then, Tanya.
00:15:39.120 That's awesome.
00:15:39.980 Thank you, Glynis, for that.
00:15:41.160 I hope this is an encouragement to, you know, everybody that's viewing this and that it will motivate them to sign their youth up.
00:15:48.280 We're also, you know, working towards having churches open their doors on a Friday night.
00:15:54.860 And I always talk about these chapters in the communities, but just picture it, right?
00:15:59.320 Like a hundred kids showing up at the church on a Friday night, going through the training, maybe having pizza and games afterwards.
00:16:07.380 And really, even introducing the youth within their own community.
00:16:12.220 So if they're in an education system, in a school system, that they would, you know, meet advocates and become stronger forces, right?
00:16:21.080 For good.
00:16:23.340 All right.
00:16:23.900 So, Glynis, let's bring on Chesney is our first youth who will be providing her speech.
00:16:30.740 Will you tell a little more about this, Glynis?
00:16:34.180 Yes.
00:16:35.220 I'm pleased to introduce Chesney.
00:16:38.340 Her speech title is Our Attitude Affects Our Actions.
00:16:42.780 Our Attitude Affects Our Actions.
00:16:45.260 Take it away, Chesney.
00:16:46.500 Hi, my name is Chesney.
00:16:49.440 I'm 18 years old.
00:16:50.940 And today I'm going to be talking about how our attitude affects our lives.
00:16:55.200 Did you know that 90% of our actions stem from our attitude instead of actual logic or facts?
00:17:02.660 That is an alarming amount of decisions based on if we're feeling upset, tired, annoyed, you name it, in the heat of the moment.
00:17:10.380 Our negative emotions affect how we are going to navigate through life immensely.
00:17:14.420 So, what can we do to look at things in a more positive way?
00:17:18.480 That's the question we'll be looking at today.
00:17:21.720 First of all, I wanted to start off with a story about Peter from the Bible.
00:17:27.200 Peter and three other fishermen were fishing all night long, but they had absolutely no luck catching anything.
00:17:34.020 Anyone who has been fishing knows how that feels.
00:17:36.520 It's quite annoying.
00:17:38.220 After long hours, they quit and started washing their nets.
00:17:40.960 And Jesus then asked Peter to go back out and try letting his net down one more time.
00:17:48.520 This is the moment that most people have the fear of failure kick in and think, why would I want to try again after I've struggled all night long?
00:17:54.860 But Peter told him, we have struggled all night and caught nothing.
00:18:00.040 Nevertheless, at your word, I will let down the net.
00:18:03.300 And his perseverance was rewarded when there were so many fish to catch that their nets were breaking.
00:18:09.560 This moment led them to become disciples.
00:18:11.940 But just think of how different this could have ended up if they just washed their nets and left the area.
00:18:16.420 Or if they didn't keep trying for hours and hours.
00:18:18.660 They would have missed out on seeing Jesus perform miracles so they could catch fish.
00:18:23.480 They would not have become disciples that day.
00:18:26.180 And maybe they would have been so defeated that they quit being fishermen forever.
00:18:30.480 The issue is a bad attitude could have changed their whole lives by giving up.
00:18:36.240 Wayne Gretzky once said, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
00:18:40.440 And this hockey quote completely applies to our attitude.
00:18:43.500 We give up or don't try something new because we think we're not good enough or that we might fail.
00:18:48.660 But instead of preparing yourself to fail, prepare yourself that you'll keep trying no matter what happens.
00:18:55.720 This will really help your attitude to improve.
00:18:58.800 The disciples had issues with fishing, but there is an amazing catch just waiting to happen.
00:19:03.480 They didn't know that, but it happened because they tried again anyways.
00:19:07.420 So the question was, what can we do to change our mindset to be a more positive one?
00:19:13.120 In conclusion, the best way is to persevere through the hard times.
00:19:17.500 If 90% of our actions are a result of our attitude, then we must have a positive one full of perseverance and willingness to try.
00:19:26.060 I challenge you that if you have a what if I fail attitude, then change it into a I'll persevere through no matter what happens mentality when you try something new this month.
00:19:36.000 Thank you for your time.
00:19:43.560 I love it.
00:19:45.060 And, you know, I wanted to add, I told Chesney this week as I was preparing the weekly action and providing information about what's going on in our education system and then bringing the youth.
00:19:56.520 And each video is just so amazing in the speeches.
00:19:59.280 But when I got to Chesney's, there's a lot going on with Action for Canada.
00:20:03.160 And we're really building a huge organization.
00:20:07.440 And I was feeling the weight of it, right?
00:20:09.860 I was feeling like, you know, I just at that point is like, I got to just keep going here.
00:20:15.560 And it was Chesney's video that I had to upload next.
00:20:18.360 And I was watching it.
00:20:19.580 And she talked about Peter and the disciples and that feeling of giving up.
00:20:24.140 I've been fishing.
00:20:25.140 I enjoy fishing.
00:20:26.020 And then the thought to just cast the net out on the other side.
00:20:31.120 And so it wasn't just about a matter of, you know, casting that net on the other side to catch fish.
00:20:37.780 It was a huge step of faith that the disciples took to make that extra effort.
00:20:43.220 And it just changed my whole mindset that day.
00:20:46.360 And I thought, yes, I'm going to persevere.
00:20:48.600 And I'm going to continue to have faith that God is doing something really good here.
00:20:52.200 And we're casting a very large net out across Canada.
00:20:57.500 So, Glynis, I'd like to hear your words as well.
00:21:01.260 Yes, the same thing for me.
00:21:03.840 You know, when I heard that speech for the first time, I thought, wow, what an appropriate story.
00:21:09.940 Because so often we, you know, circumstances happen to us, right?
00:21:14.420 You know, but we don't have to be under the circumstances.
00:21:17.520 We can be over it depending on our attitude.
00:21:20.900 And so it must have been so frustrating.
00:21:24.020 You know, they had done it over and over again and got nothing.
00:21:28.120 And I think that's what it is in life as well.
00:21:30.920 We face these situations and we think, you know, why even bother?
00:21:34.560 But if we, our attitude is, you know, just that one more time, then we could, you know, we never know.
00:21:40.720 We could be just so close to achieving victory, just like the apostles did.
00:21:44.900 And so thank you so much, Chesney.
00:21:47.340 You conveyed it so beautifully.
00:21:49.160 You used the right story.
00:21:50.880 You used the right words.
00:21:52.640 And I'm so grateful and so proud of you for standing up for that value of attitude, which is so important.
00:22:00.600 I wanted to add as well, you know, what I want our viewers to acknowledge and understand is that when you listen to the youth speeches, I mean, this, the youth are using their ability to think critically.
00:22:15.460 They're being thoughtful about what speech they're choosing.
00:22:19.800 And then what I see as well is a great amount of wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
00:22:26.280 And isn't that something that in Proverbs, the Bible says that these are finer than gold and jewels and anything else.
00:22:32.000 And when you see the average student, the average youth that is out there being filled with the propaganda or, you know, being consumed through social media, you've got these brilliant youth who have been gifted with that ability, you know, to think independently.
00:22:50.660 And Chesney, I'm so proud of you.
00:22:52.720 How, how, what would you say?
00:22:54.440 What's your comments or what would you add about your experience going through this program?
00:22:59.760 Um, I really enjoyed the youth leadership program.
00:23:03.980 Like it was a super fun and encouraging five weeks and all of the organizers did such an amazing job at making sure we all felt welcome and comfortable.
00:23:13.100 And they were always reassuring us that like, it's okay if we try something new and mess up or like, and this program taught me how to answer like impromptu questions and give helpful feedback.
00:23:26.700 And to be a stronger speaker overall.
00:23:30.520 I also learned how to write an effective speech, which that's not really taught in public school.
00:23:36.040 So it was something new for me to try.
00:23:39.540 Overall, it was just really nice to be in a room full of like-minded people.
00:23:44.680 And it definitely helped to build my confidence and help me feel more prepared for these public speaking opportunities.
00:23:51.240 I'm just very thankful I stepped out and, uh, like stepped out of my comfort zone to learn more about youth leadership and excited to do the next session.
00:24:02.680 Awesome.
00:24:03.460 Well, we're looking forward to seeing you again in just, uh, what, a week and a half?
00:24:07.960 Yeah.
00:24:08.560 Not even super.
00:24:09.620 Thank you so much, Chesney.
00:24:11.540 Thank you.
00:24:12.380 Thank you.
00:24:13.660 Okay.
00:24:15.480 All right.
00:24:16.320 It was wonderful.
00:24:18.260 Isn't it just amazing just to, uh, even to hear the response of how she felt going through the program as well.
00:24:25.000 It's very encouraging.
00:24:26.060 And just so people know as well, like we want the youth to feel comfortable.
00:24:29.400 We want them to learn and achieve, but it isn't a matter that everybody gets a blue ribbon, uh, that, you know, like what they're the sort of, you know, that, um, what they're doing in the school systems now is we want kids to learn to achieve.
00:24:41.820 And, uh, to, to, to succeed and to reap the rewards of that as well.
00:24:47.380 So we did have a first and second place when the speeches were going through and we do want everybody to learn, but we do want them to, uh, be achievers.
00:24:56.020 All right.
00:24:56.960 So next we're going to bring on Olaf.
00:25:00.040 Yes.
00:25:01.620 Olaf's speech is called Choices.
00:25:04.360 And so please help me welcome Olaf.
00:25:06.840 Choices.
00:25:08.140 Choices, Olaf.
00:25:09.620 Take it away.
00:25:11.600 Okay.
00:25:12.400 Uh, let me see.
00:25:13.820 Okay.
00:25:14.840 Hello.
00:25:15.120 My name is Olaf Meyer, and this speech is about Choices.
00:25:19.720 Jasmine from Miramichi, New Brunswick took the COVID vaccine so she could study to become a nurse.
00:25:25.820 She landed in a wheelchair a day later.
00:25:29.080 There's a lot of talk about Choices.
00:25:31.400 They said that taking the vaccine was her choice, but it wasn't a free choice or an informed choice.
00:25:36.600 Free choice is when there are no artificial consequences, like being discriminated against.
00:25:43.500 And an informed choice means that you know about all the possible risks.
00:25:48.560 Jasmine had neither.
00:25:50.100 If she didn't take the vaccine, she couldn't go to college and become a nurse.
00:25:54.260 And she wasn't informed of the risks of taking the vaccine.
00:25:57.860 When you make a big decision or even a small one, you should always consider the consequences.
00:26:02.720 And you should never let someone or never let someone bribe you into doing something you would normally never do.
00:26:10.920 Did you know that the EMF radiation from a cell phone can cause cancer?
00:26:15.640 Did you also know that the risks of getting cancer from a cell phone is much higher if you use cell phones as a kid?
00:26:22.700 In fact, kids who use cell phones at the age of 10 have been found to get cancer by the age of 20.
00:26:29.180 But cell phone companies don't put warning labels on their products.
00:26:33.660 You should keep the phone at least 12 inches away from your body, it reads in the microprint.
00:26:39.280 But who reads that?
00:26:40.700 They don't even mention cancer.
00:26:42.960 This is an example of a free choice, but not an informed one.
00:26:46.800 Because you don't know the risks.
00:26:49.580 Do you know the picture of a peanut with a big red cross through the center on food products?
00:26:53.780 If you had a similar big red label on a cell phone package that says, this causes cancer, that would be a free choice.
00:27:02.580 Then it would be a free and informed choice to use one.
00:27:07.140 Last year, my family and I were flying back from Mexico.
00:27:13.120 When we landed in Montreal, we had to take a PCR test.
00:27:16.900 My mom refused to take it.
00:27:18.920 We were led to a Health Canada office in the airport.
00:27:21.640 They said that we risked a $750,000 fine and six months in jail if we didn't take the test.
00:27:29.660 Now, my mom knew about the Genetic Non-Discrimination Act, where you can decline tests or treatments that reveal your DNA without consequences.
00:27:39.440 So my mom accepted the risk of being fined or jailed, and we got on our flight back home.
00:27:44.980 We never received a fine.
00:27:46.300 That was a good example of being pushed into a choice, but making an informed one.
00:27:52.620 This speech was about choices.
00:27:54.940 I encourage you to think your choices through and to always make a free and informed choice.
00:28:00.440 Thank you for your time.
00:28:08.680 Very well done.
00:28:10.580 Thank you, Olav.
00:28:12.340 I just, the power, I understand that you even speak at rallies within your community.
00:28:17.620 Is that correct?
00:28:19.720 Yep.
00:28:20.800 Wow.
00:28:21.760 Such an amazing, strong leader that you are becoming.
00:28:24.740 And I was really impressed as well when you spoke about coming back from Mexico and mentioning the strong stand that your mom took in not succumbing to the bullying tactics.
00:28:38.560 And so parents and adults have a huge role to play here.
00:28:43.900 And, you know, our youth are watching us.
00:28:46.340 We need to be strong as well.
00:28:48.040 So that's just something that I took out of that as well.
00:28:50.720 You have incredible details and facts about cell phones.
00:28:54.960 I never read the small print on my cell phone.
00:28:57.860 I didn't want a cell phone until about three or four years ago.
00:29:00.900 I had to get one because of this business that we're in right now.
00:29:03.440 But as soon as I can get rid of it, I will.
00:29:05.620 So thank you for educating us.
00:29:07.700 Glynis?
00:29:08.060 Yes, absolutely.
00:29:11.180 You know what?
00:29:11.700 One thing that I can feel, you can actually feel the confidence and the passion exuding out when Olaf speaks.
00:29:20.420 So it's not just a speech that he has just written.
00:29:24.060 He's actually living out that speech.
00:29:27.020 And so that is so important on delivering a speech.
00:29:30.880 I just love the personal examples that he put in there because everybody loves to hear a story, a personal story.
00:29:36.980 And so what I really got from there is like, you know, it could be a free choice, but it's not an informed choice.
00:29:43.900 And I think that distinction that he made was so powerful there because, you know, people think, oh, we live in a free country, we have free choice.
00:29:51.740 But is it an informed choice?
00:29:53.440 And so I think that the way he crafted the speech and he included, you know, a little bit of the personal story as well, made it a very pleasurable speech to watch.
00:30:03.900 And it was also very passionate that it comes across.
00:30:09.260 So well done, Olaf.
00:30:10.360 I really enjoyed it.
00:30:12.060 I was just going to add in the comments here, somebody has made the point.
00:30:17.000 Great speech, Olaf.
00:30:17.960 I only hope you run for office someday.
00:30:20.800 Imagine someone like you sticking up for people.
00:30:24.200 I support that.
00:30:26.160 That's what this is all about.
00:30:27.660 Well done, sir.
00:30:29.180 All right.
00:30:29.900 Okay.
00:30:30.580 Thank you.
00:30:31.740 All right.
00:30:32.100 Next, we're going to actually, Sean is going to be on next and he couldn't join us tonight, but we wanted you to hear his testimony, which he gives in both English and then in French.
00:30:44.740 So Terenzia, would you please play those?
00:30:47.960 Hello, everyone.
00:30:49.380 I'm Sean.
00:30:50.240 I really thank all the staff from Action for Canada for teaching me on the subject of speech.
00:30:56.440 I got more than I wanted.
00:30:57.800 I know it's not easy for some of you like me to start talking in public to express yourself, but congratulations.
00:31:06.160 You've been chosen by God like Moses.
00:31:08.980 In Exodus, Moses said, I am slow of speech and tongue.
00:31:13.160 But the Lord said to him, who gave human beings their mouths?
00:31:16.440 Is it not I, the Lord?
00:31:18.660 Now go.
00:31:19.460 I will help you speak and I will teach you what to say.
00:31:23.000 God is faithful.
00:31:24.320 Through this program, I took the first step from my comfort zone.
00:31:28.200 I'm sure you could do better than me.
00:31:30.600 Lastly, I want to pray for you.
00:31:32.780 Dear God, thank you for choosing us to be your children.
00:31:35.640 Please bless the youth leadership and speaker program.
00:31:40.140 Hold your anointing oil upon all the teachers, helpers, and young generation.
00:31:45.140 Have a humble and teachable heart.
00:31:47.700 Whoever has ears, let them hear.
00:31:50.440 Prepare us to be a vessel for you.
00:31:52.740 Because you said, open wide your mouth and I will feel it.
00:31:56.980 Thank you, Lord.
00:31:57.960 In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
00:32:00.220 Thank you, Sean.
00:32:30.420 But the Lord said, who has thated the man of a mouth?
00:32:33.840 Is it not me, the Lord?
00:32:35.780 Now, so, I will be with your mouth and I will tell you what you will say.
00:33:21.440 Merci, Seigneur.
00:33:22.740 Au nom puissant de Jésus-Christ, amen.
00:33:24.880 Oh my goodness, you couldn't see me there in the background, but I'm just tearing up because that is just so powerful.
00:33:36.760 That could be a little future preacher there, you know.
00:33:40.660 And just to have, you know, that type of faith and to have that knowledge and wisdom of the Bible again.
00:33:48.540 I mean, these are incredible, incredible youth.
00:33:52.500 And I hope people can understand why we couldn't help but play both of those in English and French.
00:33:59.800 Glynis?
00:34:01.180 Absolutely.
00:34:01.740 You know, the powerful example of Moses, every time I read that in the Bible, I think, you know what?
00:34:08.100 God definitely had a plan for public speaking.
00:34:11.400 You know, he knew that you just can't, you know, just stand in front of somebody.
00:34:14.860 You had to use your voice.
00:34:16.920 And so in spite of Moses being so, so, you know, hesitant, God used him finally, right?
00:34:23.880 I mean, he gave Aaron to him as well, but he used Moses.
00:34:27.120 And I think when Sean included that, he really made us feel, yes, that's right.
00:34:33.680 You know what?
00:34:34.140 It's not easy.
00:34:35.100 It's not comfortable.
00:34:36.360 But he got out of his comfort zone.
00:34:39.640 Moses did.
00:34:40.580 And so did Sean.
00:34:41.880 What a powerful example, because, you know, many of us are extroverts, but some of us are introverts as well.
00:34:48.480 And for an introvert to get out of their comfort zone takes an even far greater magnitude of courage.
00:34:56.120 And so thank you so much, Sean, for blessing us, including that prayer.
00:35:00.500 And it was so amazing.
00:35:01.760 Thank you so much for that speech.
00:35:03.780 Yeah.
00:35:04.580 Thank you.
00:35:05.060 And thank you to all of the parents as well as of these youth.
00:35:08.840 You're doing an amazing job raising them.
00:35:11.320 It's not just about coming to Action for Canada Youth Leadership and Speaker Program.
00:35:16.340 You know, these youth are receiving the encouragement and, you know, at home.
00:35:22.060 And even for some of the youth, I'm sure that they were maybe, you know what, I'm signing you up for this.
00:35:27.580 And, you know, they were hesitant and joined the program.
00:35:31.260 And after five weeks, we've even had some youth, you know, grateful to their mom and dad.
00:35:36.280 And, you know, for some, it may be something that triggers them in a year or two as they mature, where they say, you know, that was really, really helpful.
00:35:44.340 But on the front line, we're having such an amazing report, and I'm just so happy with the results.
00:35:49.900 Okay.
00:35:50.360 So let's bring Genevieve on.
00:35:53.900 There she is.
00:35:55.080 Hi, Genevieve.
00:35:56.480 Hello.
00:35:57.240 Hi, Genevieve.
00:35:58.560 Genevieve's speech is the Christian rainbow.
00:36:01.560 Incredible speech.
00:36:02.500 So please help me welcome Genevieve, the Christian rainbow.
00:36:06.980 The Christian rainbow, Genevieve.
00:36:08.940 Take it away, Genevieve.
00:36:11.240 Hello.
00:36:11.800 My name is Genevieve, and I'm 15 years old.
00:36:15.140 As a Christian, the rainbow is a huge part of God's promise in the Bible, which is why it is sad to see that it has been usurped and twisted as the LGBTQ symbol.
00:36:26.520 Children love rainbows.
00:36:28.460 The devil enjoys this tactic of destroying innocence and beauty.
00:36:32.720 This is why it is important for us to think about each of the colors as they represent something to help us refocus on God.
00:36:40.500 Red could symbolize the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who died on the cross to save us from our sins.
00:36:49.600 In Romans 5, 9, it says,
00:36:51.640 Having now been justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
00:36:59.460 The color orange could represent Moses, hearing God speak to him through the burning bush.
00:37:04.980 He revealed himself to Moses so he could free the Israelites from Egypt.
00:37:09.220 Like in Exodus 3, 2, Moses looked.
00:37:13.460 There was the bush blazing, but it was not being burnt up.
00:37:18.560 Yellow could represent the star of Bethlehem, when Jesus was born in a stable.
00:37:23.860 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy, Matthew 2, 10.
00:37:28.620 Green could represent the garden of Eden.
00:37:33.680 Adam and Eve were in a sinless paradise until they ate the fruit from the tree and sin came into the world.
00:37:40.540 Revelations 2, 7 promises us,
00:37:43.400 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
00:37:51.200 Blue could represent the great flood to purge all evil from the earth.
00:37:55.220 When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
00:38:02.260 Isaiah 59, 19
00:38:03.840 Purple symbolizes royalty, signifying Jesus as the Son of God and Prince of Peace.
00:38:12.700 Revelation 17, 14 states,
00:38:15.720 He is the Lord of Lord and King of Kings, and with him will be his called, chosen, and faithful followers.
00:38:22.540 We are being bombarded with twisted views of the rainbow.
00:38:28.320 Let's reflect on its original meaning and associate the colors back to God.
00:38:33.300 There are many passages in the Bible that help us meditate on God's love and mercy.
00:38:39.180 Rainbows are a sign of hope, joy, and God's loving mercy.
00:38:44.200 Genesis 9, 13 says,
00:38:45.900 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
00:38:52.540 Thank you.
00:38:57.880 Thank you, Genevieve.
00:38:59.280 That is just amazing and wonderful.
00:39:01.380 This is very dear to my heart, this subject.
00:39:03.980 I'm like always saying, we got to take back the rainbow.
00:39:06.360 You know, the enemy hates God and hates what is good and wants to take any symbol and twist it into something that it doesn't represent.
00:39:17.740 And so you've brought some wonderful thoughts with all the colors of the rainbow.
00:39:22.760 You know, that purple with Jesus.
00:39:25.900 I just picture the purple garment and just the honor, the respect, and that the rainbow.
00:39:37.420 I mean, don't you see when a storm is passing and you know that that rainbow is outside?
00:39:42.180 How many people go race outside?
00:39:44.540 All right.
00:39:44.900 Did the LGBTQ create that rainbow?
00:39:47.420 Absolutely not.
00:39:48.700 Is there a pot of gold at the bottom of it?
00:39:50.520 No, that's nonsense.
00:39:51.940 That rainbow is actually a promise from God.
00:39:54.720 And I just really, really love the way that you delivered that message.
00:39:58.840 Glynis?
00:39:59.640 Thank you.
00:40:00.420 Absolutely.
00:40:01.660 What a beautifully crafted speech with one color, every color having a scripture and then an example from the Bible, too.
00:40:09.820 I really would like to see this speech really shared by everybody and, you know, really portrayed on a national level because it's so true.
00:40:19.220 I just get, takes my breath away when I see a rainbow and God meant for it to take our breath away.
00:40:26.600 But the way that you crafted that speech and gave each color that significance, it's so meaningful.
00:40:34.080 Thank you so much, Genevieve.
00:40:35.060 And I was just going to say, you know, it's amazing because we're live on YouTube, Rumble and Facebook right now as well.
00:40:44.100 And there may be some people joining us tonight and you may not be a person of faith.
00:40:48.540 You may not be a Christian.
00:40:49.940 And we just want you to know that Action for Canada, we haven't been shy about it.
00:40:53.960 It just happens to be a fact that Canada is founded on Judeo-Christian principles, which we inherited through our British Commonwealth.
00:41:01.460 And they're embedded in our Magna Carta.
00:41:03.740 They form our laws and our values.
00:41:05.400 And it's a system of governance that provides us the freedom and democracy that we have.
00:41:09.680 And every Western nation that's built on biblical principles runs as a democracy.
00:41:14.620 And any country that hasn't and has a different belief system, like the 56 Islamic-majority countries, North Korea, China, there's incredible people living there, but they live under tyranny because it's based on a different belief system.
00:41:28.980 So we believe with our youth that it's really important for them to know their foundation.
00:41:34.720 And then they can write based on that.
00:41:37.900 It doesn't have to be biblical-based, but this is just what these youth have chosen.
00:41:42.500 And so we're just so proud of you.
00:41:45.580 I forgot to, I believe, ask Olaf, but we'll ask.
00:41:50.220 He had to sign off because it's very late.
00:41:51.960 I think he's four hours ahead of us.
00:41:54.480 And so, Genevieve, what could you add about how this program, because you were with us last year and you returned for this.
00:42:04.720 And I'm hoping that you'll join us on the 21st as well.
00:42:08.080 And so what would you have to say about the youth program?
00:42:12.500 I have learned a lot in the past, too.
00:42:17.000 And I know that I'm growing in confidence every program, and I love seeing the changes.
00:42:23.400 And it's very inspiring to meet other people every time and to grow together as a community.
00:42:31.800 And it's been amazing so far.
00:42:33.880 That's awesome.
00:42:36.020 And I understand as well that you have spoken at rallies and events within your community.
00:42:41.600 Yes, I have.
00:42:42.800 Right.
00:42:43.260 I've seen a video or two.
00:42:44.760 So, yeah.
00:42:46.080 Yes.
00:42:46.980 Good.
00:42:47.840 Glynis, is there something else that you would like to add as well?
00:42:50.340 Yeah, no, it's just amazing to see, you know, your confidence at that age, Genevieve, and, you know, the passion that you have for these causes.
00:42:59.020 So keep it up.
00:43:00.180 It's really amazing to see a person of your age, you know, really not afraid to stand up for what you believe in.
00:43:07.780 So, well done.
00:43:09.540 Thank you.
00:43:10.240 And I love it because, you know, with the youth that are going through multiple programs with us, I mean, we want to get to a point with the youth freedom movement where they become mentors, where they take on a role of leadership.
00:43:25.760 And because I think that will serve them very well.
00:43:28.720 We don't know if Genevieve is going to run for office one day or how she's going to serve her community, but we want to develop at Action for Canada on the youth leadership side and grow with them as we figure out where this is all going to go one day.
00:43:44.820 So we're very excited about it.
00:43:46.360 Thank you so much, Genevieve.
00:43:48.000 Thank you for having me.
00:43:50.040 All right.
00:43:52.960 Okay.
00:43:53.500 So I'm going to just open it up.
00:43:55.580 I don't know if any of our viewers have questions, but we'd be open to having a few questions.
00:44:03.360 Sheila and Heather, have you got anything lined up?
00:44:09.600 Not at this point.
00:44:10.740 Okay, good.
00:44:12.300 Well, I think that, you know, going through a program like this tonight, it leaves it up to, I think it's quite self-evident, right?
00:44:21.940 As to what the program is and Glynis, you've given such a good update.
00:44:26.620 So I think then what I'd like to do is turn it back over to you.
00:44:29.680 And can you let us know what we can expect with the next program, please?
00:44:33.960 Yes.
00:44:35.080 So in our next program, it's going to be a level two program.
00:44:39.160 We're going to take all of the basic things that we learn in level one and take it to the next level.
00:44:44.140 But we're also going to give some basic techniques if this is your first time joining, being a youth.
00:44:50.820 Now, I don't know if some of you know, but I did run for school board trustee twice.
00:44:55.580 And in the process of my political, you know, run for public office and things like that, I do realize that you do need to be very persuasive in your speaking.
00:45:06.360 Not only do you need to know how to say it, but also how to really craft your message.
00:45:15.720 And so those are some of the techniques that we are going to be, you know, really dwelling on and focusing on.
00:45:23.560 So the level two course will include persuasive strategies that youth can use in order to be influencers in the community.
00:45:31.300 We want to have positive influencers.
00:45:33.780 We get all of the negative influencers that we see on Instagram, et cetera.
00:45:37.780 But our youth can be positive influencers.
00:45:41.680 And so these strategies will include advanced impromptu speaking techniques and debates.
00:45:48.800 We're going to have some debates using powerful tools like problem and solution.
00:45:55.520 So what's the problem and what's the solution?
00:45:57.460 The pros and cons of a certain issue, the cause and effect and the compare and contrast.
00:46:07.320 All of these techniques in order to make your speech persuasive.
00:46:13.400 OK, so this will also include various methods of providing feedback and how to really be an effective listener.
00:46:21.280 Because in order to be a persuasive speaker, you do need to be a very effective listener to be able to listen where that other person is coming from so that you are then able to speak to that point that that person is making.
00:46:37.100 So really being able to be an effective persuasive speaker is something that we're going to focus on in this coming course.
00:46:45.860 We're also going to touch upon values, leadership values, because you know what?
00:46:50.660 In our schools these days, there are no values being taught.
00:46:54.280 So we are going to be talking about values, values such as relationships.
00:46:58.980 The goal of that lesson would be how to choose to build bridges to increase your friendships and not to build walls.
00:47:08.060 So building bridges to create effective relationships.
00:47:12.080 Number two would be character.
00:47:14.660 Understanding that the character choices you make today are the building blocks for your character tomorrow.
00:47:20.920 So we're also going to talk about forgiveness, choosing to allow forgiveness to make a beautiful mosaic of your life.
00:47:29.940 I know forgiveness is an important value to talk about.
00:47:32.980 We're also going to learn about in session four self-worth.
00:47:37.480 Know your value so that you can make the choice not to sell yourself short.
00:47:43.040 And then finally, the last value is always consistency.
00:47:46.860 How to be consistent with what you learned in this course.
00:47:50.920 And so, yes, there will be a speech delivery, there'll be feedback, there'll be impromptu speaking practice.
00:47:57.100 But the focus of this particular course is really persuasive speaking and how to be a influencer, positive influencer in your community.
00:48:06.500 So that's a little bit of a snippet of what's to come in this next course starting next week.
00:48:13.100 Wonderful.
00:48:14.320 I'm looking forward to it.
00:48:15.360 I especially liked what you were saying about forgiveness.
00:48:17.860 Isn't that something that can, you know, really do a lot of damage in relationships and friendships when at times it could be so simply sorted out?
00:48:27.740 It is really important to navigate through that.
00:48:30.340 Terenzio, would you bring up the poster, please?
00:48:34.060 All right.
00:48:34.540 So, like we mentioned, we have this on Action for Canada's webpage under the Youth Freedom Movement, under Resources.
00:48:42.060 And I just want to let you know when you register, it is a two-step system.
00:48:50.040 So that you have to register, you'll receive an email, and then you have to click on it again.
00:48:56.000 And then please make sure you check your junk folder or your spam, just to make sure that you're not missing that.
00:49:03.100 But it is a two-step registration program.
00:49:07.160 All right.
00:49:07.960 Okay.
00:49:09.900 Glynis, I'm just wanting to make sure that there's nothing further.
00:49:13.820 I know Sheila will always remind me if there's something I'm missing.
00:49:18.660 We're good.
00:49:19.720 Speeches from past.
00:49:20.540 Okay.
00:49:20.820 So I know that others have talked about the videos.
00:49:24.220 We've got them all posted on the Youth Freedom Movement page as well, so that you can go and view every speech that was given tonight.
00:49:33.140 All right.
00:49:33.580 So terrific.
00:49:34.700 All right.
00:49:35.040 Glynis, again, I am so grateful that you took the time to join us tonight.
00:49:39.200 And I am so grateful as well that you are overseeing this program and just doing such a wonderful job with our youth.
00:49:45.060 Is there anything that you would like to add in closing?
00:49:49.360 I just want to say thank you to you, Tanya, for your vision in bringing this program.
00:49:53.640 It is such an important program.
00:49:54.920 So thank you for giving this the importance that it deserves.
00:49:58.720 And I also want to thank Sheila and Heather and all of the different moderators, because without them, you know what, we wouldn't have such a world-class program, which I think it is.
00:50:07.820 So thank you to all of the people on your team that helped make this program a success.
00:50:13.720 Yeah, thank you so much.
00:50:16.020 We really do have an amazing team.
00:50:18.920 Sheila has been a driving force in the communication with you and making sure that we get it set up.
00:50:23.780 And then, you know, we have those that volunteer their time on Friday nights and facilitate.
00:50:28.920 I know we need a couple of more volunteers on the Friday night to help.
00:50:32.040 If you have any of the Maxwell experience, speech experience, please reach out to us, because we foresee that this program is going to grow.
00:50:39.780 But we need some really we need a few extra really committed people who understand the program.
00:50:44.800 So, again, Glynis, thank you so much.
00:50:46.780 I will look forward to seeing you on the 21st.
00:50:48.900 Yes, thank you for having me.
00:50:51.060 And thank you, everybody.
00:50:52.180 Good night.
00:50:52.620 And thank you to our youth.
00:50:54.700 Thank you.
00:50:55.980 Yes, thank you.
00:50:57.580 Yes, thank you to Genevieve and Olive and Chesney and to Sean.
00:51:03.100 We really appreciate you coming on tonight.
00:51:05.200 And thank you to all the youth as well who couldn't be here tonight.
00:51:08.400 There was so many that we could have reached out to.
00:51:11.500 But we're just very, very grateful.
00:51:13.260 And we hope that everybody's going to register and join again on the 21st.
00:51:17.600 Okay, Terenzio, can you bring up the screen for the guest for next week?
00:51:22.600 We are going to have Dan Bichon back.
00:51:26.380 Dan is actually a chapter leader in Nova Scotia.
00:51:30.380 He leads also the chapters in the Maritimes.
00:51:33.340 And he's also a co-leader for our pastoral support team.
00:51:37.700 This is a busy guy.
00:51:38.640 And Dan, we've had him on the show last year when we were talking about prepping and gardening.
00:51:46.180 And Dan is going to be on again next week.
00:51:48.480 And we're going to talk more about that and food security.
00:51:51.400 His experience is absolutely amazing.
00:51:54.720 I'm creating the weekly action right now.
00:51:56.580 We'll have that ready in a few days.
00:51:58.660 And we really hope you'll join us next week.
00:52:02.420 I think this is very, very important.
00:52:04.280 As you know, it's not only a matter that whether or not food will be available, but it's what they're doing with those food products.
00:52:12.080 And what kind of chemicals are being sprayed in the air, into our ground, and what they're putting in our food that we're buying.
00:52:20.420 Processed food, very bad.
00:52:23.240 And, you know, so we've got to go back to the old school.
00:52:26.180 I remember doing a lot of canning of all kinds of different things with my mom growing up.
00:52:32.000 We made applesauce and canned cherries and just a wide variety.
00:52:38.280 And, you know, we had the old school cellar downstairs and it was always stock nice come the fall.
00:52:43.620 And I think it's very, very important that we learn how to do that again and that we pass these wonderful gifts on to our children.
00:52:50.660 All right, so can we have the Bible verse is next.
00:52:56.560 So do all things without complaining and disputing that you may become blameless and harmless children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation among whom you shine as light in the world.
00:53:11.820 And that's from Philippians 2, 14 to 15, New King James Version.
00:53:16.080 I think this is really, really important, right, that we be those shining lights in the darkness.
00:53:21.100 And the incredible thing about having faith in Jesus Christ is that God does not give us a spirit of fear and he doesn't give us a spirit of confusion.
00:53:30.920 You know, it is just such an amazing, those are things that the enemy wants to do.
00:53:36.360 He wants to drive us through fear and confusion.
00:53:38.840 And they're trying to confuse our kids in the school system right now and look what it's doing to them.
00:53:43.920 So we are just standing firmly and saying no to all of that and standing firm in our faith.
00:53:49.860 And so I just want to always leave the show with a word of encouragement.
00:53:54.860 If you haven't picked up a Bible lately, you know, start in Psalms and maybe in John and read the story of Jesus and how he came into this world and how he sacrificed himself for every single one of us so we could have everlasting life.
00:54:08.880 It's really an incredible book and an incredible story and I just encourage you.
00:54:14.540 So I just want to say I hope I see you next week and I hope when this Empower Hour comes out, you will share it widely.
00:54:21.240 And God bless you and God bless Canada.
00:54:23.940 I'm going to thank God and God alone for the ground that I'm standing on.
00:54:45.940 I'm going to thank our founding fathers for giving their lives and sacrificing so much for our freedom.
00:55:01.280 And I'm calling on you today.
00:55:04.660 Don't put them to shame.
00:55:06.840 Don't waste what they did.
00:55:09.140 We have guaranteed rights in this country.
00:55:12.520 We are putting chapters across the nation.
00:55:23.100 We are going to be in every town and every city.
00:55:26.620 And we are going to build communities within these communities of life-minded people who are actually going to care for one another again and love on each other and give each other the help when they're down.
00:55:37.660 We are going to use the teams and the people that build within chapters to support our businesses.
00:55:46.340 The government's actions are completely 100% unlawful.
00:55:52.980 Judgment will again be found on justice and those with virtuous hearts will pursue it.
00:56:00.120 You have a virtuous heart if you are here today pursuing freedom and righteousness.
00:56:08.400 And then verse 23 comes along with a promise.
00:56:13.240 God says he will turn the sins of evil people back on them.
00:56:18.800 He will destroy them for their sins.
00:56:22.760 I take great comfort in that because I serve a mighty living God who has allowed us to go through this season of discomfort because we as a nation have turned our backs on him.
00:56:40.260 And we need to get right.
00:56:42.940 So I am just going to thank you so much.
00:56:46.660 I'm going to say God bless you and God bless Canada.
00:56:50.440 God bless you and God bless you.
00:57:20.440 God bless you and God bless you and God bless you.
00:57:50.440 God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you.
00:57:53.320 God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you and God bless you.
00:58:09.100 Thank you.
00:58:39.100 Thank you.
