00:36:45.000 Tell us a little bit more about yourself, how you got involved in this, how you discovered this rabbit hole, Alice, and tell us how deep it really goes.
00:36:54.000 Well, it's really disturbing.
00:36:55.000 I got involved in it because I read an article by Lynn Landis, she's a reporter, and she wrote an article that said, assume crooks are in control.
00:37:05.000 And the gist of her article was that nobody could figure out who owned these companies.
00:37:10.000 And I thought, well, you know, I'll just go look it up.
00:37:13.000 I have some databases that not everyone has.
00:37:16.000 So on a lunch hour Sunday, I just sat down and looked it up and I was really shocked to see that there was really conflict of interest among the owners.
00:37:26.000 In other words, people were programming voting machines and then running for office with their own machines counting their votes.
00:37:32.000 I found that just amazing that that could happen.
00:37:36.000 And as I continued to research it, then I started looking into, well, do we know that the machines count accurately?
00:37:44.000 I found 112 elections, and by the way, there's more.
00:37:47.000 I just got tired of it and stopped.
00:37:49.000 112 elections that were documented that the machines counted wrong.
00:37:54.000 And I don't mean little mistakes.
00:37:56.000 I mean they counted 60% errors, 25% errors.
00:37:59.000 Now that's just when they get caught.
00:38:01.000 And that's just when they get caught.
00:38:03.000 And I would assume, by the way, that we're only catching about 5% of them at the most.
00:38:09.000 And that's with their errors.
00:38:11.000 My next question is, are the errors or is some of this deliberate?
00:38:14.000 Now, we're talking to Bev Harris.
00:38:15.000 Bev, you've written books and consult to major companies.
00:38:20.000 What you do is track down fraud, embezzlement, corruption, so this was a perfect thing for you to investigate.
00:38:26.000 Well, yeah, as soon as I saw that they were removing the audit trail and they were trying to make these machines paperless so that there was no physical record of what the voter had done, Immediately.
00:38:38.000 It's like, well, we've got a security hole here.
00:38:42.000 If you did this with accounting, you would always be embezzled from.
00:38:46.000 You can't do this kind of thing.
00:38:48.000 You've got to have checks and balances.
00:38:50.000 But nationwide it's going in, and Chuckie Schumer and Bush have got the bill to fund this with billions of dollars.
00:38:56.000 It's going in right here in Austin, and the people are so gullible, oh, the government wouldn't do that, and they are doing it.

00:39:04.000 Well, and we don't, you know, the thing is, With this kind of voting machine, you could have a very few people involved in tampering with millions of votes.
00:39:15.000 So, it's not like you have to, you know, in the old days, because people have always done election rigging, but in the old days you'd have to work at it.
00:39:22.000 You'd have to go precinct to precinct and bribe people and do things.
00:39:26.000 No, with these computerized voting machines, If you get at a couple of programmers, you can do a lot of damage.
00:39:35.000 But that's how they're getting caught though, because you've noticed that in some of these elections, and I've seen the news articles, it'll be the exact same tally in certain classes of elections all over.
00:39:46.000 They're getting lazy, aren't they?
00:39:48.000 Where they just issue a set parameter and put it out there hoping that no one notices.
00:39:54.000 Well, there are some mathematical reasons for that.
00:39:56.000 That number that you're referring to, 1-8-1-8-1, which happened three times in Comal County, Texas, well, that, actually, there is, if you do a certain type of percentage addition to the vote, it will tend to get that number.
00:40:13.000 One of the things that's been interesting recently is we've had some mathematicians look at how that number came about.
00:40:19.000 I won't go into it on the air, but it actually is a round-down of 18182, which happens when they do certain math functions on the computer.
00:40:28.000 So, yeah, it's very indicative of the fact that there was an automated program in place during that election, which happened to generate that result.
00:40:36.000 Now, Bev, let's just boom, boom, boom through the big red flags and smoking guns here, and you were telling me this morning, briefly, that you had new information Not just about back doors into these boxes, but specific programs in there to remotely access it.
00:40:57.000 Right.
00:40:57.000 One of the things that I found curious is that a lot of the election company officials were making statements about the fact that these machines are not connected to anything, there's no modem, they don't connect to the internet.
00:41:09.000 And I knew that they did.
00:41:11.000 I have the manuals.
00:41:12.000 I have the technical specs.
00:41:13.000 And I thought, well, why are they lying about this?
00:41:15.000 Because it was, it was false-faith lies, you know?
00:41:18.000 We got the county clerk on a local TV show and she said, no, it doesn't hook to anything.
00:41:23.000 And then we go, well, look, there's a, there's a phone plug right here.
00:41:26.000 What's that? 0.99
00:41:28.000 How dumb do they think we are? 0.98
00:41:30.000 Exactly, and not only that, but I have the technical specs. 0.99
00:41:33.000 They have wireless stuff in them.
00:41:35.000 I mean, they are all hooked up for wireless communication, but it gets worse than that.
00:41:40.000 The story that we're working on now is actually looking at the code itself.
00:41:45.000 It looks to us like they have rewritten portions of Windows, which will allow them to get remote
00:41:53.000 access into the machines and actually write information directly into the touch screens
00:41:58.000 themselves.

00:42:01.000 I have had two C++ coders look at the source code itself.
00:42:10.000 Both of them came up with the same conclusion.
00:42:12.000 This is such an important story that I'm actually going to take it through five different coders, 1.00

00:42:23.000 This is going to be a big, big story.
00:42:26.000 Well, I mean, it is a giant story, but already they're remotely accessible.

00:42:31.000 You've got politicians involved in owning companies and then using their own machines when they run.
00:42:36.000 Can you give us some of that background?
00:42:39.000 Well, you know, Well, where do you want me to start?
00:42:44.000 Well, actually ask me that question again and I'll focus it in.

Well, that's what I was saying is that there's so much fraud, so much corruption, but you were talking about politicians who are involved in owning the touchscreen wireless voting companies and then they end up using their own machines in their own elections with their own programmers working on the machines.
00:43:06.000 And one of the ones is being groomed to come in after President Bush as the next president.
00:43:12.000 His name is Chuck Hagel.
00:43:13.000 He's out of Nebraska.
00:43:15.000 You can see that they're actually, you know, kind of grooming him to take, you know, over some big position in Washington.
00:43:20.000 By the way, he goes to the Bilderberg Group meetings.

00:43:24.000 He also, he administered, you know, he touts himself as this big Vietnam vet.
00:43:29.000 Well, I'm sorry, but he was the guy who administered the Agent Orange program.
00:43:32.000 And I don't know about your listeners, but I know people who have recently died.
00:43:38.000 They were Agent Orange victims.
00:43:40.000 I don't know too many people who felt like they got a fair shake out of the Agent Orange settlement the government came up with.
00:43:46.000 But that was his first foray.
00:43:48.000 And then he worked for George Bush Sr.
00:43:51.000 for several years in Washington, D.C.
00:43:53.000 And then he came out to run the voting machine company.
00:43:56.000 He was the CEO and Chairman of what is now Election Systems and Software.
00:44:01.000 He then ran for office and the machines that were built under his watch, the machines that were programmed while he was running the company, were the ones that counted his vote.
00:44:11.000 And his election was so amazing, it was such an upset that it was reported nationwide.
00:44:17.000 Business Week said, Lightning struck twice, he had an amazing upset victory in the primary and another amazing victory in the election where he defeated a popular incumbent.
00:44:29.000 Well, if he had disclosed that he was running the voting machine company, I can tell you that they would have reported that too, but he lied on his disclosure documents, said he was a banker.

00:44:43.000 What he was, was the chairman of a voting machine company.
00:44:46.000 Oh, by the way, those are the voting machines we use in Austin.
00:44:49.000 It's from Hagel's Nebraska Company.

00:44:52.000 I know a lot of Texas companies.
00:44:54.000 I saw that back when they were paying for them and putting them in.
00:44:58.000 Plus, it's like $15 million for Austin, and all they are is little junky computers.

00:45:09.000 I know Georgia put in $55 million worth of machines, and then they wanted to have a little election on the state flag, and the company said, oh, that'll be another $2 million.

00:45:21.000 And I wonder how much is disclosed upon purchase as to what the extras are later on.
00:45:29.000 You know, this is just amazing, and they just tell us this is the way it is.
00:45:33.000 I know that when we were reporting on this, trying to stop the touchscreens in Austin, a lot of strange things happened.
00:45:38.000 A lot of people got threatened.
00:45:41.000 They've got a lot of members of the media on the little local committees ramming us through.
00:45:45.000 This is very important to them, isn't it?
00:45:47.000 It is, and you know what's really telling?
00:45:50.000 Sequoia in the state of Louisiana spent more money lobbying than they sold the machines

00:46:12.000 They're trying to get one state guy to make the decision for all the counties in Ohio to buy the same machine.
00:46:18.000 Yeah, they're trying to always centralize it.

00:46:21.000 And again, there's almost no debate about this.
00:46:24.000 You tell somebody this in a checkout line, they'll on average roll their eyes at you.

00:46:30.000 They don't want to know... Well, I think the general public is starting to wake up.
00:46:36.000 And what this is, is a situation, by the way, where We cannot depend on government or some organization to fix this problem.

00:46:47.000 Because if they get these in everywhere, they'll just say, well, you voted for us taking your land.

00:46:58.000 I mean, if they get these in, it won't matter.

00:47:01.000 Thomas Jefferson, you know, one of our founding fathers, He predicted this type of thing, actually, and he said, you know, the people at the grassroots level have to continue to be vigilant, because if we don't, we will lose our democracy without anyone ever firing a shot.

00:47:22.000 Well, Stalin said, I don't care who casts the votes, only who counts them.

00:47:31.000 I think what I'm seeing in actually looking at the programs themselves, and I haven't looked at ES&S, I don't have access to it, they're very secretive about these machines, but I was able to get a hold of the actual programs for de-bulled election systems, and they're based out of McKinney, Texas, by the way.
00:47:50.000 It's actually, long story, but I will tell you that the kinds of things that we're seeing in the programs are completely inappropriate.
00:47:58.000 For example, Um, they keep multiple sets of books.
00:48:02.000 Now, you know what I'm talking about.
00:48:03.000 If you have two sets of books with your business, and you show one to the IRS, and the real set of books is the one you have, that is illicit.

00:48:12.000 Now, these voting machines have three sets of books in them, and they can disengage from each other.

00:48:21.000 And basically, you can have all the votes put in three places, but you can change the votes in some of the sets of books.

00:58:10.000 The League of Women Voters is one of the main obstacles that we are facing in getting fair, auditable voting right now.

00:58:53.000 There is a congressman in New Jersey, his name is Rush Holt, and he has put a bill on the floor, nationally, in Congress, that would mandate a voter verified paper trail, would take all remote control, all remote access mechanisms out of the voting machines, and would mandate audit to these things.

01:09:07.000 They could easily have these machines spit out a receipt and still people couldn't put all their receipts together later and check it.
01:09:15.000 But if there was a recall, you could spot check, have it have a code number on it.
01:09:19.000 People could bring that receipt back.
01:09:21.000 You want to have them all in a ballot box because the reason is with receipts you can't ever total.
01:09:26.000 You can't check the total.
01:09:27.000 You'd have to run around and everybody's losing their receipts and so forth.
01:09:30.000 You need to have a robust way of auditing that.
01:09:37.000 Even these little spot check audits they have in a few states, it's not going to work.
01:09:41.000 In fact, the rig that I did, which is on the website, blackboxvoting.org, uh... is actually designed to pass a spot check
01:09:50.000 it will pass a spot check and the reason is because it uses multiple
01:09:54.000 sets of books and if you spot check it, it uses the right one
01:09:57.000 and if you total check it, it gives you the wrong one. You talked about one of the oldest tricks

01:10:05.000 stick them in, feed them into a computer tape and then county clerk, whoever walks off with that

01:10:19.000 flipping numbers Somebody would be ahead, and I've been watching TV and then seeing the number flip at 2 a.m.
01:10:28.000 I have several reports of that, of flipping the votes, and it's an absolute flip.

01:10:34.000 You know, they just, everybody goes from this to that.
01:10:37.000 And they just flip it right in front of you and say, hey, we're the government, we got cops in black ski masks with machine guns, you got a problem?

01:10:46.000 This, you cannot solve something by hoping that some organization will do it or by hoping that Bev Harris will do it.
01:10:55.000 Every single person listening, if you want your vote, This is one of those times when we're going to have to step forward and take action as individuals.
