00:14:37.000 With the Goals 2000 in the schools, with them now trying to drug all the children, and they're actually taking children away.

00:16:38.000 I've got friends at Sloan Kettering Research in New York and in neurology that have actually done research and have shown this causes motor disorders and premature Alzheimer's.

01:10:32.000 How do you force the members to keep the agreement?

01:10:35.000 Well, you get the government involved and take the cartel agreement and pass it through Congress and make it a law.

01:10:41.000 Now, if one of the members break the agreement, they go to jail.

01:10:48.000 So this whole thing was created back in 1913 at a time when the banks were really struggling because they had At that time participated in a lot of shaky arrangements with regard to their deposits and their reserves.

01:11:03.000 We might get into that a little bit more later on.

01:11:06.000 But banks were folding.

01:11:08.000 There were runs on the bank.

01:11:10.000 People were asking for their money back that they had been told they could have at any time.

01:11:14.000 And many of the banks had been embarrassed because when the lines created out in front, they said, oh, golly, well, we now have to admit we don't have your money in the bank.

01:11:23.000 We've loaned it out.

01:11:24.000 And so they wanted some way to get the government involved to protect them and make it look as though it was something they were doing for the better.

01:11:32.000 But in many cases it was actually the very same later cartel controllers who would manipulate these controlled crashes and even brag about it to have profit taking and then they create the crisis and then offer a solution that's even far worse.

01:11:48.000 Well yes, that's an age-old tactic, is it not?

01:11:52.000 The reason I called the book The Creature from Jekyll Island is because, well first of all it has kind of a mysterious sound to it and it might attract somebody's attention, but the real rationale behind it is because it's historically accurate.

01:12:07.000 Jekyll Island is a real island and it's off the coast of Georgia.

01:12:12.000 And it was on that island, back in 1910, that the Federal Reserve System was actually conceived.

01:12:17.000 And corporations are considered persons, and so they created a new creature.

01:12:22.000 They created a new creature.

01:12:22.000 Yes, indeed.

01:12:24.000 And it's curious, I thought, when I was doing my initial research, that why would they create something like this?

01:12:31.000 Not in Washington, D.C.

01:12:32.000 You'd expect that to be created in some hearing room or some office in Washington.

01:12:38.000 But no, they went to this private island off the coast of Georgia, which was owned by a group of billionaires from New York, people like J.P.

01:12:47.000 Morgan and William Rockefeller and their business associates.

01:12:51.000 It was a club.

01:12:52.000 It was a resort island where their families went during the cold winter months up in New York.

01:12:57.000 And I thought, why would they go down there?

01:12:59.000 And then I discovered that they had exercised a lot of caution so that nobody would know that they went.

01:13:05.000 There was great secrecy surrounding it.

01:13:07.000 Because back then we had Senators and Congressmen railing against them, calling them criminals, talking about their takeover plan.

01:13:13.000 Well, yes, exactly.

01:13:14.000 I mean, here was a plan that was offered to the American people as a means of controlling the banks.

01:13:21.000 And bringing the banks, you know, back to sanity.

01:13:23.000 Written by the bank owners!

01:13:25.000 Yeah, had they known that the whole program was being created by the banks themselves, well then the scam would have been out in the open, which is why all the secrecy about that meeting.

01:13:35.000 So anyway, that was the reason we called it the Creature from Jekyll Island.

01:13:39.000 And, you know, to me it was like asking the fox to build the hen house.

01:13:43.000 And that's exactly what they did.

01:13:46.000 It's unbelievable, and let's go through how they got it passed during the holiday season like they always do with this stuff, and then the progression of what they've done with this power since then, and now look at the plunging dollar, look at the debt, look at what the Federal Reserve is doing to us.

01:14:05.000 How they got it passed, I think, is a fascinating story and it tells us a lot about these people.

01:14:05.000 Well, yes.

01:14:11.000 First of all, the people who created the Federal Reserve Act went out of their way to look like they were opposing it.

01:14:20.000 In other words, they were leading their own opposition.

01:14:23.000 People who had attended the meeting were giving press releases or statements to newspaper reporters saying, oh, well, this bill is going to be bad for business.

01:14:33.000 I'm going to give you the floor.

01:14:34.000 You've got about five minutes to the break.

01:14:38.000 Just give us that history.

01:14:39.000 Give us what happened and how they ran it through.

01:14:43.000 Yeah, it's very instructive.

01:14:43.000 Tell us about it.

01:14:46.000 The first draft of the bill, of course, was called the Aldridge Bill, and one of the participants of this whole thing Uh, was Paul Warburg and Warburg said to Senator Aldrich, whose name was on the bill, he said, uh, you know, you better not do this because you are well, uh, well known to be associated with the bankers and big business and people will say, well, that's a big business bill.

01:15:09.000 And his ego was so great, he said, oh, no, after all, I'm chairman of the National Monetary Commission, and it is the bill of my committee.

01:15:17.000 So he put his name on it.

01:15:18.000 And sure enough, there was a lot of backlash in Congress.

01:15:21.000 People said exactly what Warburg said they would say, which was that it's a bill of big business.

01:15:26.000 So it didn't get much support.

01:15:28.000 So that was not too big a setback.

01:15:30.000 They came along and they got a couple of Democrats to support the bill.

01:15:35.000 And these guys, of course, were bankers too, but they at least were Democrats and they weren't well known as being associated with big business.

01:15:44.000 So now with the Democrat bill, it was okay.

01:15:47.000 It was the same bill, basically, but now it was okay.

01:15:50.000 Now some of these people who sponsored the bill began to give these statements to the public.

01:15:55.000 That they opposed the bill, which of course was not true.

01:15:58.000 But they were saying, oh, this bill is going to be bad for business.

01:16:00.000 It's going to be bad for the country.

01:16:02.000 You know, the average person would read that in the newspaper and they'd say, hey, Maud, you hear, listen to this.

01:16:07.000 Now, these bankers don't like this bill very much.

01:16:10.000 Must be pretty good.

01:16:12.000 You know?

01:16:13.000 And so they were using mass psychology on the American people, leading their own opposition, which is a tactic which we've seen done many, many, many times since then in many issues.

01:16:24.000 And then they created little committees around the country, little ad hoc committees led usually by one or two people who were employed at either one of the banks or one of the corporations which were within the bank orbit.

01:16:39.000 And these people would say, well, I'm the Ohio Committee for Banking Reform.

01:16:44.000 And they generate a little letterhead and then they start issuing press releases to the local papers.

01:16:49.000 The papers would take it at face value.

01:16:51.000 And people got the impression, well, gee, there's a grassroots movement out here in favor of the Federal Reserve Act.

01:16:58.000 I guess people like it.

01:16:59.000 And then they gave large amounts of money to some of the larger universities where they didn't have departments of economics, or at least they were underfunded.

01:17:08.000 And along with the money, of course, came the stipulation that the donors be given the option of naming the head of the department.

01:17:17.000 Most of the universities were happy to have a million dollars, and also the nominee of a nice professor to be head of the department.

01:17:25.000 So all of a sudden, these departments of economics were staffed and headed by people who were very, very friendly to the Federal Reserve Act.

01:17:32.000 And they started to write these scholarly tomes about how wonderful it would be for the nation.

01:17:38.000 And so all of this was a conducted, carefully orchestrated campaign To create the impression that there was massive support at the academic level and at the grassroots level and that the bankers were opposed to it.

01:17:51.000 All of this was done.

01:17:52.000 It was a brilliantly orchestrated scenario.

01:17:55.000 By the way, that exact same thing is being done to amend the Constitution for Arnold Schwarzenegger right now.

01:18:01.000 Yes, exactly the same.

01:18:02.000 The same tactics.

01:18:03.000 They don't change.

01:18:04.000 They always work.

01:18:05.000 And the only trouble is that the average American is not aware of these tactics.

01:18:09.000 Falls for it every time!

01:18:11.000 So, anyway, that's how the Federal Reserve was sold to the American people.

01:18:15.000 And as you said, it was passed during a session just before Christmas, although I think there's too much been made of that because most of the congressmen and senators were already on record as being in favor of it.

01:18:27.000 And so, if they had been there, I think they would have voted for it anyway.

01:23:57.000 Well, in fact, it was written by the money trust, and the whole purpose of the bill was to consolidate the grip of the money trust.

01:24:08.000 The Federal Reserve was, I should say, the banking system was in a rather state of disarray and decline at that point.

01:24:15.000 And ever since the passage of the Federal Reserve Act, of course, it's been strengthened and expanded because now they have the guarantee of the American taxpayer to back up their whole system.

01:24:26.000 If anything goes wrong within the banking system now, you can be sure that the American taxpayer will be called in to pay the bills and to make it right.

01:24:35.000 I mean, explain to people how it works, though.

01:24:37.000 I mean, a bank can loan out, what, ten times for what its real reserves are, and when they loan you money for a house, I mean, it's a total scam, and then the system's based on creating more and more debt.

01:24:49.000 Well, yeah, let me walk through that, because that's the fascinating part of the whole thing.

01:24:52.000 I call it the Mandrake Mechanism, because back in the 1940s, there was a comic book character by the name of Mandrake the Magician.

01:25:00.000 And I used to read Mandrake.

01:25:01.000 I thought he was a pretty cool guy.

01:25:04.000 He could wave his cape and produce things out of thin air and wave it again and they would disappear.

01:25:09.000 It was an amazing thing.

01:25:10.000 I thought, aha!

01:25:11.000 This is what they do at the Federal Reserve.

01:25:13.000 So I call it the Mandrake Mechanism.

01:25:16.000 And it works something like this.

01:25:17.000 First of all, you have to understand that the Federal Reserve, as I mentioned before, is a cartel.

01:25:22.000 But it's a cartel which is in partnership with the federal government.

01:25:27.000 And because the government authorized it, chartered it, created the special Act of Congress that made it an entity, and it backs it with the force of law.

01:25:36.000 So the question is, why would the federal government and the banking system become partners in a venture?

01:25:42.000 And the answer is pretty simple.

01:25:45.000 Obviously, there are benefits to both groups.

01:25:47.000 Otherwise, they wouldn't do it.

01:25:48.000 So, in following the Mandrake mechanism, we'll see the benefits to both sides.

01:25:53.000 We start with the political side.

01:25:56.000 Why do the politicians go into it? 0.95

01:25:58.000 And it works something like this.

01:26:00.000 Congress is spending money like a drunken sailor on a weekend.

01:26:05.000 The only thing is that the politicians know that it's popular to spend money, but unpopular to raise taxes to pay for what they're spending.

01:26:15.000 So the goal of most politicians is how do you spend more and tax less?

01:26:21.000 And the answer is, well, you borrow the money.

01:26:23.000 If you don't want to raise taxes, which would get you unelected, then you borrow the money instead of raising taxes.

01:26:29.000 And that works for a while because people are always willing to step forward.

01:26:33.000 I used to buy bonds and I don't anymore, of course, because I don't think it's ethical.

01:26:38.000 But a lot of people will buy government bonds because they know that they're going to get their money back, plus an interest.

01:26:45.000 Institutions buy government bonds and treasury notes.

01:26:49.000 Banks buy them.

01:26:49.000 Corporations buy them.

01:26:51.000 Retirement funds buy them.

01:26:52.000 So there are a lot of people who are willing to lend the government money Uh, so that the politicians can spend more than they take in as taxes.

01:27:00.000 The problem there, of course, is that the loan to the government, the bond, has to be paid back.

01:27:05.000 And when it comes time to pay back these bonds, lo and behold, the politicians are still spending more than they're taking in, so they don't have the money to pay back the original bonds.

01:27:15.000 The solution is that they go out and borrow more money to pay back the original bonds, plus enough more to handle the continuation of the expenses.

01:27:24.000 So, the number of bonds out there grows, and the debt grows, and we know, well, from experience, that's how the national debt grows every day, by millions, if not billions of dollars.

01:27:35.000 Well, all right.

01:27:35.000 So far, so good.

01:27:37.000 The Federal Reserve comes along, though, and adds a new dimension to it.

01:27:40.000 You see, as long as individuals or institutions are loaning money to the government, it doesn't create any new money into the system, because that money has already been in somebody's pocket or somebody's checking account, and they're just moving it from there and giving it to the government to spend.

01:27:57.000 But now, the government can never get enough money in that fashion.

01:28:00.000 They always need more, more, more.

01:28:03.000 And that's where the Federal Reserve System comes in.

01:28:06.000 So let's just imagine that the Treasury official goes to the Federal Reserve Office and he says, well, I need money today.

01:28:15.000 And the Federal Reserve Officer says, well, come in, sir.

01:28:19.000 Sit down.

01:28:20.000 We've been expecting you.

01:28:21.000 How much money do you need today?

01:28:23.000 And he says, well, how about a billion dollars?

01:28:26.000 And now, the Federal Reserve Officer pulls out that big black check and he writes a check for a billion dollars, and lo and behold, that money didn't exist until he wrote that check.

01:34:12.000 And so now the Federal Reserve has this money, and we can see instantly why the politicians are in the partnership, because that means that under any circumstance, They can always go to their partner, the Federal Reserve System, and get more money without having to market it to the public, without having to sell bonds to the institutions or anything.

01:34:32.000 They can say, we need more money, and zingo, they've got it, it's by agreement, they will automatically get it. 0.93

01:34:37.000 But then that bases your economy on fiat and manipulation, and then when the bankers want to, they can plunge the dollar They can control the economy, they can have insider trading, and it gives them total power because the Federal Reserve can also make its own money and buy whatever it wants with it.

01:35:04.000 Its function is to take care of its partner, the federal government, as I just described, but now that's not where the Fed makes its money.

01:35:11.000 The interest on that money to the federal government is used to run the Federal Reserve System, and if there's any surplus left over, which there always is, it's very ceremoniously returned back to the federal government as an act of great charity.

01:35:26.000 And it's true that they actually do return all the money that they don't use to run the system.

01:35:31.000 And that's not where the action is.

01:35:33.000 The real action now is on the other side, where the bankers are in this partnership.

01:35:37.000 So let's follow that billion dollars that they just created for the federal government.

01:35:42.000 That was just sort of a little duty they had to do to keep the partnership alive.

01:35:45.000 They get to loan it out ten times what they even created.

01:35:48.000 Exactly.

01:35:49.000 Now, the federal government has this money.

01:35:51.000 What does it do?

01:35:52.000 Let's just take a thousand dollars as an example that they pay to the postal worker.

01:35:56.000 And now the postal worker takes that $1,000 and deposits it into his commercial bank down at the end of the street.

01:36:04.000 Now it's into the banking system, and we follow this money now, and this is where it really gets interesting.

01:36:09.000 The bank can take that $1,000 deposited from the postal worker and loan out up to additional $9,000 on it.

01:36:21.000 And that money is created out of thin air.

01:36:23.000 In other words, if you went to the bank And you said, I want to borrow $9,000 for a car.

01:36:29.000 The bank creates the money and lends it to you based on the $1,000 deposited by the postal worker.

01:36:37.000 Now, they keep the $1,000 in the bank, or at least on their books, as an asset.

01:36:41.000 It's shown there as an asset.

01:36:43.000 And on the basis of that asset, they can create an additional nine.

01:36:48.000 For everyone.

01:36:49.000 So that $9,000 that they loaned to you was literally created out of thin air for the loan.

01:36:56.000 Now they collect interest on nothing, in other words.

01:37:00.000 That's a pretty good deal.

01:37:01.000 Now you can see why the bankers are on it.

01:37:02.000 They don't collect interest on $9,000 because they didn't have $9,000.

01:37:08.000 They collect interest on $9,000 that they created.

01:37:12.000 And then they're able, after they loan out that $9,000 off the $1,000, or a total of $10,000 now, Then that's counted in banks other places and then they're able to ten times that or nine times that and then when people don't pay, they get the houses, they get the buildings, they get the institutions, they get it all.

01:37:31.000 Yeah, they do collateralize most of their loans.

01:37:34.000 They have some unsecured loans, of course, which they collect higher interest on that because of the supposedly higher risk.

01:37:41.000 But again, it's all made out of nothing and they create this fiat system and then now You know, Alan Greenspan comes out and chastises why it's your fault, Congress, you did this, but they're all in it together.

01:37:53.000 And then they criticize the American people and, oh, you're going to pay for shipping the jobs overseas when they're the ones that have been pushing it all along.

01:38:00.000 What's the master plan, what they're doing with the Union of American States and the EU and now the Euro and then the dollar down by 45 percent?

01:38:11.000 Why are they doing this?

01:38:16.000 My observation is that when this whole system started back at the turn of the century, the primary motive among these people was just money, profit, and power.

01:46:53.000 Well, I'll just say these systems are criminal, so no matter what argument you've got, they're still going to enforce their fraud on you through criminal force.

01:47:03.000 Do you ever grieve them?

01:47:05.000 Well, yeah, it's a real interesting question and it comes up more and more lately because there are so many programs out there being offered to eliminate mortgages and debts of other kinds as well.

01:47:15.000 And my take on it is that there are a couple of aspects that don't immediately pop to the surface.

01:47:21.000 One is that I think that the banks are in big trouble because their contracts probably have been written in a fraudulent manner.

01:47:27.000 They do not disclose properly to the customer that the money is being created out of nothing.

01:47:34.000 And that the basis for the loan is the credit of the customer.

01:47:38.000 And nothing comes from the bank except a service.

01:47:41.000 But still, even if it's fraudulent, they criminally enforce it.

01:47:44.000 True color of law.

01:47:45.000 They do enforce it, although there are a lot of instances today where the courts are upholding the claimant.

01:47:52.000 Now, but that brings up another issue.

01:47:55.000 If, let's just assume that a person has bought a $6,000 plasma TV set, and suddenly he sees one of these programs and he says, golly, I don't have to pay off this loan, I got my TV set, but the bank didn't do it right, and if I get an attorney or buy into one of these programs, we can prove that the bank has made a mistake, and they will cancel the loan.

01:48:14.000 Now let's just assume that that's successful, because it is being successful in some cases.

01:48:20.000 Now, the question is that, okay, now I got my plasma TV set, and I didn't pay for it.

01:48:25.000 Who paid for it?

01:48:26.000 That's a question nobody wants to look at.

01:48:29.000 They're totally focused on getting out of the debt, which I can understand.

01:48:32.000 But the point is, if a debt is written off, for whatever reason, someone had to pay for that plasma TV set.

01:48:38.000 Now, the company that built it had already been paid money, so it wasn't them.

01:48:43.000 And it boils down to this, but when a loan is written off the books of a bank... Somebody's being defrauded.

01:48:50.000 Somebody's being defrauded.

01:48:51.000 Now the first layer would be the... So ask yourself, does that Circuit City deserve for you, you went in and bought it, you went in and did the loan, is it moral for you to rip them off?

01:49:02.000 They didn't do anything wrong.

01:49:03.000 Well, Circuit City got paid.

01:49:06.000 So, who wound up being ripped off?

01:49:07.000 And the answer is, it's the stockholders of the bank, because the assets of the bank have to be reduced.

01:49:13.000 And they're a bunch of criminals, so... Well, I don't know.

01:49:15.000 My aunt is a stockholder at a bank, and a lot of people... Well, I mean the board, the people who run it. 0.55

01:55:03.000 I remember reading in John McManus' book, Financial Terrorism, that Philip Crane tried to audit the Federal Reserve, I think, back in the 70s.

01:55:13.000 And, of course, Ron Paul's obsoletion from last year.

01:55:16.000 But I think that's a problem, you know, because I guess the politicians are so intimately connected to the Federal Reserve banks.

01:55:27.000 There has not been much activity on the Federal Reserve to my knowledge in many years because it's all been done.

01:55:34.000 They have the ability to extend the reserve ratios.

01:55:42.000 Anytime they decide to, they can extend that to 21, or 30 to 1, or 100 to 1, or take all ratios off completely.

01:55:50.000 The problem is that causes inflation, and the dollar continues to drop.

01:55:56.000 And so the Federal Reserve becomes the instrument by which the government can tax everybody at an unlimited rate.

02:07:54.000 This passed, and some people are still in denial about this, but tell us all about it.

02:07:59.000 Well, let me start out and explain what the bill does and what it doesn't do, so we're clear.

02:08:04.000 Because we're being told by people who are supporting it that we've got it all wrong.

02:08:08.000 So let's make sure we're real clear.

02:08:09.000 Well, we've had Ron Paul on.

02:08:11.000 We've read the bill on air.

02:08:12.000 There we go.

02:08:13.000 And so what we're pointing to is that it funds the states For universal mental health screening of children and pregnant women in particular.

02:08:23.000 So, a CPS visit to the pregnant women.

02:08:26.000 Oh, that's already happening.

02:08:27.000 So the first-time mother has these people who get money for grabbing kids and putting people on drugs, preying on them, day one, trying to get them to sign documents like they were a criminal to get into their system. 1.00

02:08:39.000 And what we've already seen this past, as you mentioned, we've seen it past in Illinois and other states, We've been, the critics, the supporters of this have been saying, oh, it's not mandatory, mental health screening, it's not mandatory.

02:08:55.000 So what we're saying is, as you've heard from Dr. Paul, saying, okay, if it's not mandatory, then let's pass a provision, a specific provision, that says parental consent.

02:09:05.000 must be obtained.

02:09:06.000 Informed parental consent before any screening or screening.

02:09:10.000 Yeah, the bill just said, okay, I mean, you gotta get parental consent for your ten-year-old to go to the zoo or the planetarium or the National History Museum, then you gotta give me parental consent before you stick my kid with a psychologist for eight hours and ask him, are you upset?

02:09:24.000 Oh, you need drugs then.

02:09:25.000 That's exactly right.

02:09:26.000 And they said, no, we're not going to do that because it is forced.

02:09:29.000 And we have seen how children who have been tracked into special ed maybe by mistake, never can get over that stigma and never get out of that channel, and we don't want the same thing to happen here.

02:09:41.000 I mean, the consent issue is just so basic.

02:09:46.000 So that's basically where we're at.

02:09:49.000 Again, a person they catch with a dead body in their backyard still has their Fifth Amendment, but they're going to claim, no, your child has to sit for this and your pregnant women have to, and then it says jobs, you'll have your psychologist come in and ask you questions, and, oh, are you you'll have your psychologist come in and ask you questions, and, oh, Are you upset?

02:10:09.000 Oh, you've got to go on drugs by law.

02:10:11.000 Well, let me explain where the universal comes in so that everybody can answer these arguments.

02:10:18.000 What they talk about is that they're worried about children at risk.

02:10:22.000 And of course, common sense tells us, okay, well that does make sense.

02:10:25.000 But that's a code word.

02:10:26.000 If they can't get us on welfare, or they can't get us into their system somehow, they're going to do this forcibly.

02:10:32.000 Well, there are two ways to decide.

02:10:34.000 Number one, what's their definition of at risk?

02:10:36.000 And number two, there are two ways to decide, to look at a child and decide if they're at risk.

02:10:41.000 Well, a child's at risk and their clutch is the most dangerous place to be. 0.95

02:10:45.000 Well, you can either observe the child's behavior and see if he's doing something that looks like there's a serious problem, or you have to sit him down and do the screening.

02:10:54.000 Well, the only way you can determine if the child fits the at-risk definition as you've defined it, then, is to sit down and screen everybody.

02:11:02.000 So there we're into the universal screening.

02:11:05.000 They've got to check everybody out.

02:11:07.000 And that's, I mean, I've talked to therapists who've explained this process.

02:11:10.000 The bottom line is that Ron Paul, who is a physician and a life-long member of our organization, will come back next session and introduce a stand-alone bill that would modify... He's an opposite person!

02:11:25.000 And he is trying to get language that will modify this to require the parental consent.

02:11:30.000 So, even though we've lost this first skirmish, the battle is not over.

02:11:34.000 Well, yeah, I mean, that's like when Bush tried to give Eli Lilly total blanket vaccine protection for all vaccines in the Homeland Security bill.

02:11:44.000 Yeah, we went back and got that removed, so.

02:11:47.000 And look, let's see him try to carry this out.

02:11:50.000 Because I've talked to Ron Paul, I've talked to others.

02:11:52.000 The way this is set up with the bureaucrats and the actual plan that's now been funded, stuff outside the bill, is homeschoolers, private schoolers, twice a year folks, they're going to come grab your kid.

02:12:04.000 And this is gonna happen, and come hell or high water, we gotta say no to this.

02:12:10.000 Yeah, and there'll be a couple of things that people can do as we're gathering steam now for the next session.

02:12:15.000 One is, there is a petition that for parents who want to say, they sign the petition and say, I will not allow my child to participate in the screening.

02:12:25.000 The second is, we'll have to generate small letters.

02:12:28.000 And I'll have the link to that petition.

02:12:30.000 Well, it's real simple.

02:12:31.000 Anybody does this in your school district, you sue them immediately.

02:12:35.000 Let's see how they like 100,000 lawsuits.

02:12:39.000 Just slap them with the lawsuit.

02:12:42.000 But the problem is that, of course, you want to... If you slap them with the lawsuit, that's after the fact.

02:13:17.000 And what they did is in a class every day they have these psychologists and they come in for like a month, it took them a month to do it, and it'd be your day.

02:13:29.000 You'd be off in a side conference room or whatever and they'd have these partitions and there'd be all these other young people there and they were doing all this.

02:13:41.000 I mean, it was Anderson High School.

02:13:45.000 That was here in Austin.

02:13:46.000 I mean, it was everybody.

02:13:52.000 We're concerned that the... I want to give everybody a little bit of history.

02:13:56.000 I don't know if you've talked about this in previous shows, but really the origins of this new Freedom Commission's recommendations go back to Jimmy Carter.

02:14:05.000 They go back to the Carter Commission on Mental Health that issued its findings in 1977.

02:14:10.000 And then it got cranked up in TMAP in Texas.

02:14:13.000 But this is my point though.

02:14:15.000 The news started in 94, 95 in Texas.

02:14:19.000 They admit this current plan started in Texas, TMAP.

02:14:22.000 And what I'm telling you is, is they were doing this in 1992.

02:14:26.000 Without the enabling legislation.

02:14:28.000 Yeah, and then they told you it was a psychological test, but also to tell you what you'd be best at in a job career.

02:14:34.000 So as part of Goals 2002, you know, the Soviet model of telling you what you should be.

02:14:40.000 Well, we've seen this happen.

02:14:42.000 President Reagan actually was able to overturn much of the Carter Commission's work in 1981.

02:14:47.000 Then, here's another...

02:14:50.000 Bush is signed back on to all of it, though, under UNESCO.

02:14:52.000 Well, here's part of it.

02:14:54.000 There's some funny goings-on with this new Freedom Commission that I don't think President Bush intended.

02:15:01.000 And what happened is that David Thatcher, the Surgeon General under President Clinton, issued a report that's considered a landmark report in 1999 that talked about anybody who's mentally ill that the target should be recovery, not just functioning.

02:15:16.000 And so it's like saying every psychotic, every person who has any kind of mental illness, the goal should be bring them back to full recovery.

02:15:24.000 Well, that's just not, that's a utopian approach that can't happen.

02:15:30.000 But they seized on to that report.

02:15:31.000 Now here's how the new Freedom Commission came about.

02:15:34.000 When President Bush appointed it, the idea was to get the real stakeholders, doctors, patients, their families, rather than the policy wonks.

02:15:43.000 And the usual suspects that grind out this junk out of Washington, D.C.

02:15:48.000 So that intention was good, but then what they did was to help run the commission, they brought in eight ex-officio members who had some ties back to the Carter Commission.

02:15:59.000 So they kept trotting through their experts... Well, they've had people inside it go public and say it was all written up by Big Pharma.

02:16:06.000 Exactly!

02:16:06.000 So they brought in the people who were the special interests to nudge these people, and the commission ended up going much further Much, much further.

02:16:15.000 I think the President, in fact, got probably a very rude surprise when the Commission came out with its findings and its recommendations.

02:16:21.000 I know that the Alliance for Human Research Protection has done a really good job of tracking the special interest money and the links and who is supporting this.

02:16:38.000 I mean, it makes sense.

02:16:40.000 You don't need to see the smoking gun, smoking documents.

02:16:45.000 Your common sense tells you who you're going to benefit from.

02:16:48.000 They've had government officials in Pennsylvania and other places as part of the program go public and say it's designed to put half the children on drugs.

02:16:56.000 I mean, we've got in Texas two-thirds plus of foster children on these drugs.

02:17:00.000 Yeah, and we also know that the government's own findings, the government's own task force, found that mental health screening did very little to prevent suicide.

02:17:10.000 Then you pile in that, that the mental health screening doesn't prevent suicide, plus the fact that the mental health screening may end up being more coercive for parents ...to put their children on medication that sometimes has a serious side effect... Well, every week we hear of somebody having their children grabbed because they won't put them on Prozac.

02:22:41.000 Yeah, actually we do have a position on that and that is that many of those drugs and the antidepressants and other drugs that you're talking about do have Some beneficial applications.

02:23:51.000 - Well, I have come to find out in the past few months that apparently I have adult ADHD.

02:23:56.000 Because if you read the ads for ADHD, I guess there weren't enough sales to children anymore that that was getting a tougher sell.

02:24:09.000 How did women get along without drugs 100 years ago? 1.00

02:24:12.000 Well, the ADHD ad that got me was said, do you sometimes have trouble concentrating when you're doing 87 things at once?

02:24:53.000 I'm not saying that mental illness does not exist, it's just that when we get into government programs and mandates, It's too subjective for it to be left to government.

02:25:04.000 Clearly, 15% of the children in the country don't need to be on Prozac and Ritalin.

02:25:09.000 And clearly, we don't need to put more of them on it.

02:25:10.000 And clearly, two-thirds of foster children don't need it.

02:25:13.000 And clearly, they don't need 17 different drugs in one child.

02:25:18.000 Well, I know you look at, I think, the state of Massachusetts.

02:25:22.000 I remember seeing something about a year ago on the use of drugs on the children, medication of drugs on the state programs, and I think, my God, the average was something like seven medications per child.

02:25:38.000 Yeah, same thing in Texas, Florida, Mass, Illinois.

02:25:41.000 I mean, it's a brave new world.

02:25:44.000 It was actually, you know, it was beyond alarming.

02:25:50.000 They said a lot of kids are on 17 different ones, and then when the drugs start making them have seizures, they put them on Depakote.
