00:14:10.000 Well, then you have to deal with the volcanoes and you have to deal with the pollution of China. 0.99

00:15:32.000 So, because we were dependent on the federal government to protect us, In the FAA, we weren't really protected, so I would say there's lots of room for an alternative to a government-monopolized FAA, and then we'd be just as safe.

00:15:47.000 But haven't we learned from Walter Reed and so many other scandals that actually private enterprise does worse, corporations are actually worse than the government because they have absolutely no conscience?

00:16:25.000 We need to allow every veteran to have decent health care, but we should permit them and pay for it to allow them to go to the doctor that he wants to go to and not make them stand in lines to get second-class care in some of our VA hospitals.

02:06:57.000 with like bone pieces and they and they've now found just a few months ago uh... you know they found uh... bones in nearby buildings were blown out of the buildings how that happened with a collapse man bodies blown I hate to talk like this or son died in in in in the horrible attacks but this is the facts here and uh... they won't let anybody into the landfills but now photos have been snuck out of you know piles of your shoes and parts and what looks like bones and uh...

02:07:32.000 They don't even want to give a proper burial to these people.

02:07:41.000 It just goes to the mind, and of course not give treatment for those that are breathing asbestos and concrete when the EPA's own internal reports that they were going to die.

02:07:49.000 And they just said, you're not sick, go home and die.

02:07:52.000 And they do go home and die.

02:07:54.000 So it's just government again, just like Katrina, anywhere else, this is who's going to supposedly take care of you.

02:08:14.000 I think that our court papers very clearly, through affidavits of people who worked there during this ten months that it was operational, have told us that in the first, specifically the first five weeks They were planning to do this as a salvage operation.

02:08:35.000 They were not even thinking of human remains.

02:08:37.000 Giuliani wanted the World Trade Center site emptied out as quickly as possible, as cheaply as possible, so he could look like the can-do guy.

02:08:47.000 And in doing that, he scooped and dumped.

02:08:50.000 Instead of hunting for remains where they were, they took it to the landfill and essentially set up to salvage.

02:08:56.000 In other words, they were separating out metals What was going to go to the salvage yards?

02:09:00.000 What was going to get out of there fast and furious?

02:09:03.000 And in doing that, in the first five weeks or so, suddenly seagulls started to inundate the area.

02:09:11.000 And they began to realize that there was only one thing the seagulls were after, and that was human bodies.

02:09:17.000 And so it was at that point that someone, a firm from Rockland County, New York, or Orange County, New York, came down and said, look, we've got sifting equipment.

02:09:27.000 We could do a better job.

02:09:28.000 Let us demonstrate they did, and after about five weeks they began a sifting process, which helped make it better.

02:09:35.000 But in those initial five weeks, they were just dumping things over the edge into the landfill, and it was the most recently used part of the landfill.

02:09:45.000 It had been accepting household waste as recently as March of 01.

02:09:50.000 So they had no regard for what they were doing.

02:09:54.000 Others of our affidavits show that workers asked that they wash what was coming in so that they could differentiate human remains from the other debris and they were told that would take too long and they wouldn't let them.

02:10:06.000 We have another affidavit where one of the workers Um, tells us that they were given rakes and shovels and told to hit the piles.

02:10:13.000 Now, by the way, that was all a crime scene, too.

02:10:15.000 How they cut up the steel and hauled it under guard to China and South Korea.

02:10:20.000 How they guarded it, didn't want anybody to get any samples.

02:10:23.000 I wonder why?

02:10:24.000 Well, I wonder what's being hidden at Fresh Kills, myself.

02:10:27.000 And, in fact, one of the affidavits mentioned that, um, there was a cadaver dog, and to give the cadaver dog some rest, His handler took him over to where the steel beams were lined up to be shipped over to the recycling area in Jersey City.

02:10:43.000 And the dog started going crazy, and he couldn't figure it out, so he called in one of the police detectives who was kind enough to do this affidavit, and he went and looked where the dog was just going crazy, and they found a part of a human body.

02:10:59.000 In the steel that was being shipped out to Jersey City.

02:11:02.000 And they were not checking the steel.

02:11:04.000 They were not interested in the human remains.

02:11:07.000 They were interested in get it out of here fast, get it out of here cheap, and make it look like Giuliani got us back quickly.

02:11:17.000 And then Bloomberg came in and adopted the same pose.

02:11:21.000 Exactly the same pose.

02:11:23.000 We know there are human remains there.

02:11:25.000 We know they were abusive with them.

02:11:28.000 Journalists have never been allowed to go with us to see the mess that's up there, and now we can show... But I mean, how in a free country can now journalists not go to a landfill?

02:11:39.000 See, I mean, this is such a free country.

02:11:41.000 Now, expanding out from there, I remember a few months ago the report of a building across the street, they found a thigh bone in it.

02:11:48.000 I mean, to me, how are bones being blown and having the flesh removed across the street?

02:11:58.000 This is amazing!

02:12:00.000 Well, this is a building.

02:12:01.000 It was the 130 Liberty Street, which is also known as the Deutsche Bank.

02:12:05.000 And it's not just a matter of one bone.

02:12:07.000 To date, they've found 785 pieces of human remains there.

02:12:12.000 Yeah, that was a building declared free and clear of all human remains.

02:12:18.000 And then in September of 05, working on the roof, some workers accidentally found pieces of human remains.

02:12:25.000 And it was at that point that it started to escalate and as recently as last week they found 30 pieces in that same building.

02:12:32.000 Now that building has twice been declared free of human remains and they're still finding them.

02:12:38.000 That whole area, I think worse than that building is the fact that Con Ed workers found human remains in October in a manhole.

02:12:47.000 Right at the edge of the site.

02:12:50.000 And this was an area that the Department of Design and Construction, under Rudy Giuliani's guidance and dictates, had decided they would take World Trade Center material without inspecting it and make a roadbed out of it.

02:13:06.000 And out of that service road, that whole road, they have found 272 human remains.

02:13:13.000 They found another 209 in manholes.

02:13:16.000 And this has all been since October.

02:13:19.000 So, you know, these are the people who are telling us... Well, I mean, why don't they just fence off the area of the landfill, put a memorial there and a road into it?

02:13:27.000 Why do they have to go, nope, shut up, and we're going to use it to fill potholes? 0.83

02:13:51.000 And then they also cannot really do anything with that land for 30 to 50 years because of the methane gas, because of the settling, because of polluted waters that have to dissipate.

02:14:11.000 We've given them plans for other suggestions.

02:14:13.000 Yeah, I mean, they should have hauled the waste, you know, to some nearby national park and created a big parkland for it.

02:14:20.000 I mean, that would be the common sense.

02:14:22.000 Well, and we've given them some suggestions.

02:14:24.000 I mean, one of them is Governor's Island.

02:14:27.000 The city paid a dollar for it.

02:14:29.000 They're raising it.

02:14:31.000 But they want to put up some kind of a wealthy theme park there with boutique hotels.

02:14:39.000 They also don't want people 50 years from now digging into those sediments and doing investigations.

02:14:44.000 Because I'm just going to tell you right now, Diane, I'm sure you've heard the discussions, but it's not just people on the news talking about it.

02:14:51.000 It's firefighters.

02:14:51.000 It's police.

02:14:53.000 And then even the NIST report is now talking about something else in Building 7 that's They're having to say that explosives could have been involved.

02:15:05.000 Do the families you talk to discuss that, about why there's a cover-up?

02:15:13.000 I have to say that mostly the group that we founded and that we deal with are dealing with the treatment of the human remains.
