00:39:11.000 I need to call him today, because I am assured that he was there and that he had this dream.

00:39:20.000 And there were other men, and I could tell they were family, living people.

00:39:25.000 And he was saying, it's okay, I saw the same thing you saw, and he's in a better place now.

00:39:33.000 And then his son was there saying, is it okay?

00:39:40.000 My cousin was there, I guess he's about 12 years old, 11 years old, I forget now.

00:39:45.000 James was there.

00:39:46.000 And he was saying to his dad, is it okay?

00:39:49.000 And my uncle was almost childlike, babbling saying, yes, yes, it's okay.

00:40:03.000 And I go back to calling my father on a Friday night and saying, we've got to go see my grandmother tomorrow.

00:40:10.000 We've got to go see her.

00:40:11.000 We've got to go see her.

00:40:12.000 I haven't been there in months.

00:40:13.000 I want to go see her.

00:40:14.000 Is she okay?

00:40:16.000 Is she taking a turn for the worse?

00:40:17.000 And he said, no, she's fine.

00:40:19.000 And then that next morning, she took a, on that Saturday morning, a really bad turn.

00:40:25.000 She was in the bed and the local Baptist pastor who's down the street that my dad went to high school with, It wasn't even from her church, the Methodist church in town, the little country church.

00:40:39.000 He came down and he told her, it's okay, Patty, you can turn loose.

00:41:33.000 I wouldn't get up.

00:41:34.000 Back then I wasn't as disciplined as I am now, five years ago.

00:41:38.000 Now I've just trained myself to get up, but I wanted to sleep some more because I've been up till late at night.

00:41:44.000 And then when I got up, she said, oh, he left.

00:41:46.000 He said, get in your car and follow him.

00:41:47.000 So I got in my car and I'd gotten to about Round Rock, where you get ready to make the turn to drive to where my family's from in East Texas on my dad's side.

00:41:58.000 And my cell phone rang and he was about 30 minutes away by then from there.

00:42:04.000 He was about an hour and a half ahead of me, two hours ahead of me, and he said, she just died, she just died.

00:42:15.000 So there's that other experience, and I knew in the last few weeks, and I was so busy with the film, so busy having to, if Ventura hadn't called and said, we need you to come do one more shoot, I was planning to go then, that weekend, but then I got behind, I wanted to see my children, I was like, well, how is Uncle Leonard?

00:42:31.000 You know, who knows?

00:42:32.000 He may live another year, he may live a month, but he doesn't want to take any more medications or see the doctors.

00:42:37.000 He doesn't even watch TV now.

00:42:38.000 He just sits there and basically meditates on life and says he's ready to go.

00:42:42.000 And you know, he wishes it was otherwise, but he is.

00:42:45.000 But you've got time.

00:42:46.000 We're planning to go down there next week.

00:42:49.000 I was going to take off Thursday and Friday and take my children because my son has met Uncle Leonard quite a bit and loves him and particularly wanted to see him and was very upset wanting to see him in the last couple weeks.

00:43:03.000 He isn't into hysterics.

00:43:04.000 He was saying, I really want to go see Uncle Leonard.

00:43:05.000 I want to go see Uncle Leonard before he dies.

00:43:10.000 And he And... You better talk to people you love.

00:43:24.000 If you've got a feeling you need to see somebody, or you need to warn somebody, or you need to spend time with somebody, you better just drop what you're doing and do it.

00:43:44.000 And I was there when one of my friends died a few years ago.

00:43:48.000 Went into the hospital for a minor procedure, got an infection and it killed him two days later.

00:43:54.000 And you'd think that you wouldn't want to be around when somebody dies.

00:43:57.000 The establishment wants us to just shelve old people, shelve sick people, ignore it like you're throwing a Happy Meal bag in the trash in this instant gratification society.
