00:01:34.000 Well, so much is happening.

00:01:36.000 And before I start throwing out questions, what is most important on your radar today, sir?

00:01:43.000 Well, the book.

00:01:46.000 Well, let's talk about the book.

00:01:48.000 Well, that's a good idea, Alex, because what I'm able to do in this book, in just common sense terms, it's easy to read, very short chapters, is to explain to people how their economic future has been destroyed.

00:02:07.000 There are many villains, but the biggest one is the offshoring of the jobs.

00:02:14.000 Because when you offshore the jobs, you offshore the incomes.

00:02:18.000 And when you offshore the incomes, you offshore the gross domestic product.

00:02:23.000 And so what offshoring does is it makes us poorer.

00:02:27.000 It's a process of becoming less developed.

00:02:32.000 And it destroys career opportunities, it destroys a lattice of upward mobility, and it makes recovery from recessions impossible because there's nothing left to recover.

00:02:46.000 Well, sir, you're not a sick person.

00:02:48.000 You tried to cut taxes for America, one of the biggest growth rates we ever had in the last century, if I'm correct.

00:02:54.000 The second fastest growth rate in the 20th century, correct me if I'm wrong, because you want people to do well.

00:03:01.000 You want to empower the free market.

00:03:03.000 And so, talking to you in the past, it seems you have somewhat of a blind spot, or correct me if I'm wrong, towards believing that the system would want to destroy and consolidate power to create monopolies.

00:03:14.000 But I have all the globalist-owned statements that this is what they want.

00:03:18.000 But regardless, this is the end scenario.

00:03:23.000 This is what globalization and offshoring has delivered to us, is deindustrialization, lowering standard of livings across the West.

00:03:32.000 That's exactly correct.

00:03:36.000 Whether it's an intentional plan or whether it's the result of incompetence and incentives and greed, it doesn't much matter because the effect on the people is the same.

00:03:49.000 And until they have a grasp of it, they can't react no matter what the cause is.

00:03:58.000 Well, let's specifically talk about the disease and what's happened with NAFTA and GATT and the rest of it versus the cure, because you cover the disease and the cure in your book.

00:04:10.000 Well, as I said, Alex, and as you know, there are many adverse happenings, And the book mentions a number of them, but its main focus is on the offshoring of the jobs.

00:04:30.000 And this came about largely, in my view, because of the incentive structure.

00:04:41.000 Wall Street pressured Corporations to increase the shareholder return, that is, to be more profitable, produce more capital gains.

00:04:54.000 The government passed a law that a company could not deduct executive pay in excess of one million dollars, you know, as a business expense, unless it was performance related.

00:05:10.000 And an earlier reform, which requires quarterly reporting, The unintended result of that was to focus companies and the top executives on very short-run profits.

00:05:24.000 So, you had that kind of incentive system.

00:05:28.000 Now, what kept it from going wrong for a long time was it wasn't really possible to all-shore the jobs because there was no high-speed internet and so you couldn't have intellectual work, skilled professional work like engineering done all-shore and sent in.

00:05:46.000 And the world was still socialist.

00:05:49.000 You couldn't open factories in communist China and hire their labor, for example. 0.92

00:05:55.000 And so the collapse of world socialism, the rise of the high-speed Internet, created a totally new economic environment in which the incentives that already existed, the cap on executive pay, the pressure from Wall Street on the firms, the the pressure from Wall Street on the firms, the result was that firms started closing plant equipment in the United States, or if they built new plant equipment, build it abroad.

00:06:24.000 And they greatly increased the profits and their own remuneration by substituting very cheap foreign labor for American labor.

00:06:35.000 And this has now gone on long enough that many American firms that we once knew as manufacturing firms, they're really just marketing firms selling an American brand name that's made offshore.

00:06:49.000 And so by moving all these jobs and facilities offshore, they have reduced the opportunities for Americans, increased them for foreigners, and when the goods come back in, they count as imports and are responsible for a good percentage of our very large trade deficit.

00:07:10.000 Which in turn has to be financed by giving over the ownership of the existing American assets.

00:07:18.000 Existing companies, real estate, even toll roads.

00:07:22.000 Foreigners now even own 99-year leases on toll roads in Virginia and Illinois and in other states. 0.67

00:07:31.000 And so when they then end up as owners of the tolls, the capital gains, the dividends, the rents, the interest that were formerly going into American coffers, they now go abroad too.

00:07:45.000 So this worsens The current account deficit, which is the next step up from the trade deficit.

00:07:54.000 So it's put the United States in a situation where it is now a massive debtor, it has massive debts to service, and yet it has massive deficits, both domestic budget deficits and trade deficits that make it increasingly impossible to service.

00:08:18.000 So that is a dilemma.

00:08:21.000 How do you bring an economy back that's in that situation?

00:08:26.000 Well, how do you do that?

00:08:30.000 Well, to the extent that it could be done, I think there are two things that you have to do.

00:08:38.000 First, you have to protect the dollar's reserve currency role, Because if we lose that, we can't pay for our import bill.

00:08:48.000 We simply can't pay for the imports.

00:08:51.000 So they would have to do something to bring the jobs back.

00:09:00.000 Historically, you could have relied on high tariffs on goods made offshore.

00:09:06.000 But we now have so many trade agreements that we would have to wiggle out of that that might not be possible.

00:09:13.000 But what you could do is change the way you tax corporations.

00:09:18.000 Instead of having an income tax, you could tax them according to where the value is added to their product.

00:09:27.000 In other words, if their worldwide production, if the value is added mainly in the United States, then they would have a low tax rate.

00:09:37.000 But if it was added abroad, China for example, they would have a high tax rate.

00:09:42.000 And so you could use taxation then to offset the advantage of the very low cost foreign labor.

00:09:51.000 If you did that, you would then be showing the world, hey, look, they're going to get the trade deficit under control.

00:09:59.000 They're going to, again, have an economy that makes things and creates high-paid jobs and restores the middle class.

00:10:07.000 So that would be one thing that could be done, at least conceptually.

00:10:11.000 Now, of course, the large global corporations would fight it, and they don't want that.

00:10:17.000 They want the profits that they get from the cheap foreign labor. 0.99

00:10:21.000 So whether or not the government or the people could prevail over these powerful moneyed interests, we'd have to doubt very much.

00:10:29.000 But conceptually, that would be something that could be done.

00:10:33.000 Now, on the budget deficit front, you know, the budget deficit now is horrendous.

00:10:38.000 The world has never seen deficits to be financed to this magnitude.

00:10:44.000 The deficits exceed The trade surpluses of our trading partners, which is what has been financing the budget deficit.

00:10:54.000 In fact, I think they exceed world savings.

00:10:59.000 So what could you do?

00:11:00.000 Well, you could certainly stop the wars.

00:11:03.000 The wars don't serve any interest of the American people.

00:11:07.000 They're extremely expensive.

00:11:10.000 Uh, they would have to cut, they would not only have to stop the wars, they would have to cut the defense budget, they'd have to close those 700 or more foreign bases, they would have to give up this goal of world hege, hegemony, the empire.

00:11:27.000 Uh, we can't afford it.

00:11:28.000 There's no money for it.

00:19:27.000 There's a lot of, of course, sincere people who are concerned about the environment.

00:19:32.000 But it's the moneyed interests who are funding it and who are behind it, and they're creating a new property right, the right to pollute, that will be very valuable, that will be sold, and that they can create financial instruments such as derivatives on the basis of.

00:19:50.000 So the whole thing is a hoax.

00:19:54.000 It's like the subprime derivatives.

00:19:59.000 And it's for the enrichment of the investment banks.

00:20:03.000 Goldman Sachs, for example.

00:20:06.000 So we have a country whose economic policy serves no one but the war industries and the investment banks.

00:20:18.000 Even the big industrial concerns.

00:20:25.000 You know, these are the epitome of capitalism.

00:20:29.000 So what we have is Lenin's financial capitalism, where the banks control everything and rip everybody off.

00:20:39.000 And that's the type of economy that has evolved here, and it's what we're living in today.

00:20:53.000 In fact, I've seen many articles in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, with the big bank heads celebrating their expanded power out of the crisis that they authored.

00:21:04.000 Well, see, they got away with it, and they blocked all the efforts to bring back regulation which would have protected the people against the crisis.

00:21:14.000 And now, you see, what the Goldman Sachs head, Hank Paulson, the former Treasury Secretary, what he is doing now is he's out leading a campaign to pay for the bailout of the banks by taking away people's Social Security and Medicare coverage.

00:27:24.000 Three and a half months ago, you predicted that the euro would go down first, the dollar would go up when the carry trade reversed.

00:27:32.000 But then it would also start sucking the dollar down next.

00:27:34.000 That's now happening.

00:27:35.000 Gold's going back up really fast.

00:27:38.000 So, look into your economic crystal ball, if you can, and try to give us an idea of where this is going.

00:27:46.000 Well, Alex, I think the one check, if there is a check on this unaccountable government power that we are faced with that's trying to roll us up, the one check on them is how long the dollar will last.

00:28:06.000 And if it doesn't last long enough, that is, if it loses its acceptability as the world currency, They won't be able to pay for their empire.

00:28:18.000 And so the whole thing could come to a screeching halt from dollar failure.

00:28:26.000 And it's also possible that some of the other countries in the world who are not willing pieces of the New World Order, who do not participate in the construction of the U.S.

00:28:44.000 Empire, China for example, they also hold tremendous amounts of treasury bonds.

00:28:51.000 And in a way, this gives them a weapon over us.

00:28:55.000 So how far they can be pushed, what point do they realize that They're in the gun sites, too, and then take some sort of action on their own that would help to derail the unaccountable American government, both here at home and abroad.

00:29:21.000 As far as I can tell, the plan is to hem in Russia. 0.87

00:29:30.000 With anti-ballistic missile systems on its border to turn former constituent parts of the Russian Empire into the American Empire with American military bases, and in this way try to negate Russia's military potential, their nuclear deterrent, and shove them out of the way in this way. 0.74

00:30:02.000 The next is to build up the war against Iran. 0.88

00:30:09.000 It's the last remaining independent country in the Middle East.

00:30:31.000 So that is what the strategic plan in Washington is.

00:30:50.000 Let's walk through those different pieces you just laid out.

00:30:55.000 Of course, back on 888, you and others in 2008 were pointing out this was a provocation to start war with Russia.

00:31:01.000 And now, a White House insider in the Raw Story article is up on the TV screen right now.

00:31:12.000 White House insider that Cheney wanted to go ahead and go to war with Russia, with that provocation, having the Georgian, U.S., NATO, Israeli-backed forces go in and sneak attack him.

00:31:27.000 I mean, this shows a level of just brazen, really insanity, Hitlerian-type desire for power that he was willing to go ahead with. 0.89

00:31:36.000 And now China is seeing that, that it's continuing under Obama.

00:31:40.000 And the PLA, as you know, said, we want to start dumping Treasury bonds, kill the dollar.

00:31:45.000 And so China now is considering all of this as a threat, is realizing it, so it seems that things are really heating up with Hillary threatening sanctions on China if they don't go along with, quote, crippling sanctions on Iran.

00:31:58.000 So it does appear the pieces are being moved into place, we have Gates still at the Pentagon, that it seems as if it's business as usual with left cover with Obama, and that they really are at least considering World War III.

00:32:13.000 Yes, I think that's the intention.

00:32:15.000 This is insanely risky because it means the use of nuclear weapons.

00:32:23.000 And of course, we won't escape that.

00:32:27.000 And there's no missile defense against the Russian ICBMs that can work completely.

00:32:35.000 In fact, what the Russians will do, they'll use cruise missiles to take out all those missile defenses.

00:32:43.000 And then launch.

00:32:44.000 So it shows a form of insanity.

00:32:48.000 Look, for years, the neoconservatives have wanted to go to war with Russia.

00:32:53.000 Back years ago, when I was on the Committee for the Present Danger, which was a group of former high government officials who were concerned about the Soviet Union and wanted to be sure it didn't get an upper hand, Some members tried to bring neoconservatives on the committee, and the rest of them blackballed them and said, no, we don't want to go to war with Russia.

00:33:19.000 We just don't want to become vulnerable.

00:33:23.000 And during the Reagan administration, Reagan had to say over and over, no, I don't want to win the Cold War, I want to end it.

00:33:33.000 And the neoconservatives would get madder and madder because they wanted to win it.

00:33:37.000 And so they've been dying for a nuclear war with Russia.

00:33:41.000 If you read their statements, their articles, their programs, they have no fear of a nuclear war.

00:33:50.000 You can remember, even the ones who have not been in the government, like Billy Crystal, the editor of the Weekly Standard.

00:33:58.000 I mean, he says things like, well, what's the good of nuclear weapons if you can't use them?

00:34:03.000 And let's talk about that.

00:34:05.000 His father was the head heir of Trotsky, and that's been in the Washington Post, that this was a group of communists who always hated Stalin because he kicked him out.

00:34:16.000 They came to Mexico City and then infiltrated.

00:34:18.000 I mean, this is truly a sickening group leading conservatism, and it's a big rebuke of them that Ron Paul won the CPAC poll.

00:34:27.000 Yeah, that's a mysterious thing to me.

00:34:30.000 And I don't keep up with CPAC, but I can remember it years ago.

00:34:33.000 And you tell me if I'm right, but I think the CPAC people were in the neocons' clutches, weren't they?

00:34:41.000 Absolutely.

00:34:44.000 And now all of a sudden, so what that seems to show is that some of the people have woken up, have caught on.

00:34:53.000 And things look less hopeless if people wake up and catch on, which is one of the reasons I so much admire you.

00:35:01.000 You do a better job of informing people than the mainstream media does.

00:35:08.000 And so if people catch on, that is another constraint.

00:35:13.000 And if the catching on is growing, then the constraint on the government grows.

00:35:18.000 And that doesn't mean they won't try to roll over everybody.

00:35:23.000 But it may not be an easy thing to do as a large country.

00:35:28.000 And what's happening because of the economy, they're killing the economy.

00:35:33.000 In fact, they've been killing it for 10 years.

00:35:35.000 You know, look, Alex, at the beginning of this century, first years of this new decade in the 21st century, Senator Schumer, the New York Democrat, and I, we opened the new year with an article in the New York Times pointing out that offshoring was killing the economy.

00:35:59.000 And it caused a sensation because here was a Reaganite and a left-wing Democrat challenging what everybody thought was free trade.

00:36:10.000 And so immediately the Brookings Institution held a conference in Washington and invited all the big shots and C-SPAN came and televised it and showed it over and over.

00:36:23.000 And where we made the case that offshoring would completely destroy the economy and the job prospects of Americans.

00:36:32.000 And it wouldn't just be the blue collar workers.

00:36:34.000 It would be the university graduates.

00:36:36.000 It would be essentially everybody.

00:36:40.000 And in doing this conference, I predicted that in 20 years, the United States would be a third world country if this continued.

00:36:49.000 And it's continued.

00:36:50.000 And we are we now have increasing attributes of a third world country.

00:36:57.000 The only jobs available are domestic services.

00:37:01.000 And now that's contracting.

00:37:03.000 A lot of the economic numbers I see say that unemployment's really over 20 percent.

00:37:07.000 From Dr. Roberts looking at the numbers herself, is that accurate that we see out a lot of these big financial analyst groups that are saying 20 to 22 percent?

00:37:17.000 If you measure the unemployment rate the way it was measured in 1980, it's currently 22 percent.

00:37:22.000 Yes.

00:37:23.000 And the 10% figure is a headline number.

00:37:28.000 The government itself knows it's no good, and the government's real number is about 17%.

00:37:33.000 Well, let me give you an example.

00:37:34.000 I'm in Austin, Texas, rated as the best city in the country in this now endless recession.

00:37:40.000 And I try to go to restaurants I went to in the past, closed.

00:37:44.000 Many of the shopping malls and strip centers, half the shops are closed or starting to close.

00:37:48.000 My audience has tripled the last two years, more than tripled.

00:37:53.000 But the same amount of money is coming in from video, books, sales, advertising that was coming in three years ago.

00:37:59.000 And I've talked to everybody else in radio, TV, everything, it's the same.

00:38:03.000 The economy is, well we've seen the numbers.

00:38:06.000 Texas has the highest drop in sales taxes that it's ever had in its history.

00:38:12.000 The same for 41 states.

00:38:14.000 I saw a business journal article last week.

00:38:17.000 I mean, every indicator is Things are falling apart, and the government's only passing more taxes.

00:38:24.000 And then meanwhile, 800-plus cities are sanctuary cities, where illegal aliens are above the law and don't get arrested for DWI or assault.

00:38:33.000 And there's more illegals coming in, bankrupting the welfare rolls. 1.00

00:38:40.000 I don't think it's going to take another 10 years for us to be a third-world country.

00:38:43.000 I'd say if this continues, what, three, four years, doctor?

00:38:48.000 Well, there's a lot of stored wealth.

00:38:51.000 It would last a while.

00:38:53.000 But you're on to a good point.

00:38:56.000 Let's talk for a minute about what a declining economy does to the people, to marriage, to the self-esteem of unemployed men, what it does to the social fabric.

00:39:10.000 Now, that unemployment rate, 22%, it masks a lot of things that are much worse.

00:39:17.000 For example, the unemployment rate of white males, say, 24 to 35, you know, in the career-forming years, it's higher than 22%. 0.89

00:39:28.000 The unemployment rate of inner-city blacks is horrendous.

00:39:35.000 It's more like, you know, 67%. 0.75

00:39:39.000 What you see is not just the destruction of the economy, but the destruction of the society, of social cohesion. 0.56

00:39:50.000 And you're seeing the destruction of the poorer classes of whites, which is now, they're now living the life like inner city blacks. 1.00

00:40:07.000 And so the whole country is coming apart at the seams. 0.92

00:40:12.000 Let me ask you a question.

00:40:14.000 I've seen the number of 22%, and you're confirming that, unemployment, and that if you add in the underemployed, it's close to 40% total that are unemployed or underemployed, meaning people can't make ends meet.

00:40:27.000 They're not lazy.

00:40:28.000 They're working two, three jobs.

00:40:31.000 And then I get these Wall Street guys on, like Damon Vickers, and he just says, well, that's because a lot of people are just lazy.

00:40:36.000 No, people aren't lazy.

00:40:39.000 That's exactly right.

00:40:40.000 There aren't any jobs.

00:40:42.000 There aren't any jobs.

00:40:45.000 And you see, as I say in the book, to recover you have to have an economy.

00:40:51.000 We gave it away for what they call the new economy, which was a hoax.

00:40:51.000 But we don't.

00:40:56.000 There isn't any new economy.

00:40:58.000 And so nothing is done in Washington to get the economy back.

00:41:06.000 And they're continuing to give it away.

00:41:08.000 And this is why I think That they will not succeed in their world aims.

00:41:17.000 Because the economy will collapse down from Undrum.

00:41:21.000 The dollar will collapse down from Undrum.

00:41:23.000 And I couldn't predict what the consequences of that type of disaster would be.

00:41:29.000 But it would be horrendous.

00:41:31.000 And so, I don't believe that they can just march right ahead and achieve the aims that we've identified.

00:41:41.000 I think they'll run into the lack of resources.

00:41:46.000 Well, Doctor, let me throw a few wild cards in.

00:41:49.000 It's official, Microsoft, Time, Newsweek, New York Times, they're all calling to censor the web, make you have a web ID to get on.

00:41:56.000 The Pentagon is taking over all the internet grids.

00:41:59.000 They admit in the cybersecurity bill it is to take over the web.

00:42:03.000 It says the new job hiring, the new bubble in internet will be government hiring high school and college kids to serve.

00:42:13.000 So they're moving to block us talking about the raping that we're all going under right now.

00:42:18.000 And I also believe they're going to play the stage terror card.

00:48:20.000 that Goldman Sachs bet against the housing market while telling people to invest in it and bragged about how it would knock off their competition.

00:48:29.000 I mean, these guys really are the villains here. 0.96

00:48:32.000 Can you speak to what's happening with the pigs, as they're called, in Europe right now? 0.51

00:48:38.000 Well, these are the most financially weak countries that were brought into the European Union, into the Euro, mainly through a mad determination of the EU bureaucrats to expand the thing everywhere.

00:48:55.000 So they end up with a lot of financially weak countries.

00:48:59.000 Whose public indebtedness exceeds all the regulations that are supposed to govern their financial activities.

00:49:09.000 And since these countries now use the common currency that they cannot themselves print, they can no longer print the money to pay off their bonds.

00:49:20.000 And so when their bonds get in trouble, They can't protect themselves and they're relying on the richer countries in the EU, such as Germany.

00:49:33.000 And same thing with Iceland.

00:49:34.000 So every time the bankers finance the EU, they're on record doing it.

00:49:39.000 It's a big setup to be able to vampirically feed on people. 0.83

00:49:44.000 I think that part of the trouble these weak financial countries are having was induced by the investment banks or the hedge funds who speculated against their bonds and helped to drive them into this type of a situation.

00:50:04.000 You could even say, if you're conspiratorial minded, That we, the United States, set this up as an attack on the euro.

00:50:14.000 Because it's a way that lengthens the life of the dollar as reserve currency by creating these internal problems within the Euro monetary system.

00:53:30.000 That they have in the United States, in indefinite detention, that they're going to put on trial, not for any act of terrorism or planning terrorism, but for speeches he gave as a student activist at Brooklyn College, in which he vigorously denounced the United States.

00:53:58.000 And in the meantime, they've denied all his other rights, and he is a citizen.

00:54:03.000 Now, that's one definition of a police state.

00:54:05.000 The next thing that has happened, as you know, and you probably covered it widely, Dennis Flair, the head of National Intelligence, announced that the United States government now has a list of Americans that it's going to murder abroad.

00:54:22.000 Now, here is the head of national intelligence saying, we're going to kill American citizens. 0.72

00:54:29.000 We're not going to arrest them, put them on trial, get a conviction, and if it's a conviction for a capital crime, execute them. 1.00

01:08:00.000 Samantha Dawn Bell, Stack's daughter, from his first marriage, told the Associated Press in an interview from her home in Norway.

01:08:08.000 But now she said if he did do it, that he's a hero.

01:08:17.000 The letter itself sounds like it's coming from a different person.

01:08:20.000 It didn't sound like it came from him, she told the Associated Press.

01:38:57.000 So there's not a big run and a freak out because they will have trouble getting the physical money out.

01:39:15.000 And they're openly talking about devaluing the currency, and they had this secret meeting two weeks ago in Australia, where they were setting all this up.

01:39:25.000 And clearly, they're announcing that they can take your pension funds, and the government can nationalize them, tax them, and give you part of it back.
