00:14:07.000In fact, in one county, WKYC NBC reports that they're going to lay off the vast majority of their deputies from 112 to 49 but the sheriff's being honest there he's saying go out and buy a gun you've got to protect yourself and now Now the police in Oakland, California are holding the population hostage saying, look, if we don't raise taxes, if we don't get more funding, we're not going to be able to respond to serious crimes.

01:15:43.000But in the seventies, which is You know, people are saying that this economic meltdown's worse than it was in the 70s now.
01:15:50.000But we had these austerity measures very similar to what's coming in now.
01:15:55.000And public spending was cut by a mere 4%.
01:16:00.000And as a result of that 4% cut in public services in Britain at the time, basically there were widespread strikes, there were riots, there were bodies left unburied, and at the time the German Chancellor said that as a result of this, quote, Britain was no longer a developed country.

01:16:28.000So, now they're saying that it's going to be 20% plus cuts in public spending.
01:16:33.000So, what we're going to experience in the next few years is going to be four times worse than anything that happened in the 70s.
01:16:40.000And to be clear, when they talk about 20% cuts in public spending, they're going to increase taxes, so there'll be more money overall, but it's all going to go to the offshore banks.

01:44:31.000Lieberman, Joe Lieberman, the sponsor of this bill which would give Obama the power to flick a virtual kill switch to shut down the internet for at least four months before he had to get congressional approval.
01:44:45.000He openly unveiled the cyber security agenda for what it was last month in an interview with CNN's Candy Crowley when he said, quote, right now China, the government, can disconnect parts of its internet in case of war and we need to have that here too.
01:45:03.000So he's openly saying that cyber security is part of a move towards the Chinese style censorship and policing of the internet.
01:45:13.000Now, as I wrote in my article today, China's internet system has nothing whatsoever to do with, quote, war or security.
01:45:24.000It's all centred around keeping people politically oppressed and stopping them from communicating with each other and organising politically to get active.
01:45:36.000And it's about censoring government atrocities and government cover-ups and government abuse.
01:45:42.000So Lieberman has openly said that that's what cyber security represents.
01:45:47.000Well we've got all these White House officials saying they want to censor it.
01:45:51.000We've got the FCC saying they want to control the internet.
01:45:54.000We've got them saying they want to put a tax on alternative media.
01:45:57.000That's an official proposal by the Federal Trade Commission and the FCC to tax alternative media to quote fund a government megaphone on TV and establishment newspapers.
01:46:08.000I mean, this is a violation of the First Amendment.
01:46:11.000It's the government involved in the, quote, free market.
01:46:14.000But briefly going back to China, look at this AP article.
01:46:17.000Beijing starts gating, locking migrant villages, and they write the article like it's a positive thing.

01:46:26.000China's capital has started gating and locking some of its lower-income neighborhoods overnight, with police or security checking identification papers around the clock, and a throwback to the old style of control.
01:46:36.000They already do that in New York, where they search everybody out at night.
01:46:39.000It's Beijing's latest effort to produce rising crime, often blamed on millions of rural Chinese migrating to the cities for New York.

01:46:48.000The capital's Communist Party secretary warns the approach promoted citywide.
01:46:53.000Or once it promoted citywide, but some state media and experts say the move not only looks bad, but imposes another layer of control on the already stigmatized vulnerable migrants.
01:47:03.000And so, so far the gates have sealed off 16 villages in the sprawling southern suburbs where migrants are attached to cheaper rents.
01:47:11.000And some villages outnumber permanent residents 10 to 1.
01:47:17.000Yeah, well, it's not surprising that the Associated Press would report that with pleasure.
