00:11:55.000 They were trying to take over a military base when this happened.

00:21:25.000 Well, basically, we have to go back to the 1970s to fully understand what happened.

00:21:32.000 In the 1970s, they printed money in the U.S.

00:21:36.000 and commodity prices went ballistic.

00:21:40.000 And they overshot on the upside because of the money printing.

00:21:45.000 And after 1980, they then declined because as they went up too much, the price came into the market, so all commodities went down until 1998.

00:22:00.000 During the decline in commodity prices, no new mining was undertaken, no exploration took place, no new Oil fields were looked for because as prices went down, there was no economic reason to look for new oil.

00:22:21.000 But then, after 1998, commodity prices started to rise.

00:22:28.000 And because of the combination of the opening of China, the incremental demand from China and also increasingly India and other emerging economies, Commodity prices started to go up, and because of the money printing in the U.S.

00:22:47.000 by this rather despicable character, Mr. Bernanke, they went ballistic.

00:22:56.000 And so we have very high inflation in most countries, and in many countries this high inflation in food prices, energy prices, has had an impact on The wallet of the typical household.

00:23:14.000 Because whereas in the U.S., we say a per capita income of $40,000, food is not a huge component in people's income in emerging economies, where, say, the per capita income in Vietnam, India, is only $1,000 per year, food and energy makes maybe 50% of people's income.

00:23:43.000 And of course, you're now, I guess, alluding to what we see happening in North Africa.

00:23:48.000 Libya, now it looks like, is basically falling to the rebellion.

00:23:52.000 Reportedly, Muammar Gaddafi has fled to Venezuela.

00:23:57.000 What is driving these revolutions that we're seeing popping up around the world?

00:24:03.000 And if it is overall dollar devaluation and commodity increases, how much worse is it going to get?

00:24:09.000 I mean, how bad is the inflation going to get?

00:24:14.000 Well, the really big question is whether this unrest we have in Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain, Egypt, will spread to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

00:24:31.000 If they do, it will be very difficult for the U.S.

00:24:36.000 to take sides, because on the one hand, The U.S.

00:24:41.000 has supported the vicious regime of Mr. Mubarak.

00:24:47.000 They have supported the royal family of Saudi Arabia.

00:24:52.000 They never asked Saudi Arabia to have reform and democracy, whereas they embargo countries like Myanmar.

00:25:04.000 So where will they stand?

00:25:47.000 How bad in the near term, in the long term, do you see the inflation getting?

00:25:52.000 I know you can't make exact predictions, but what do you see happening to the dollar?

00:25:57.000 What do you see happening to gold, silver, other commodities?

00:26:00.000 I mean, they're skyrocketing right now.

00:26:02.000 Well, I would say the following.

00:26:04.000 I have a large subscriber base.

00:26:09.000 I asked all my subscribers to please send me an email if they have the feeling that their cost of living were going up by less than 5% per annum.

00:26:23.000 I didn't receive a single email.

00:26:26.000 And so I think that the inflation or the cost of living increases in the US and elsewhere is much higher than what the government is publishing.

00:26:38.000 And I think this is having a negative impact on consumption, because obviously, the cost of necessity, insurance, taxes, food, energy, is going up very rapidly.

00:26:54.000 And my answer to all this is, the worse the economic conditions will become, the worse the geopolitical conditions will become, the more Mr. Bernanke And his fellow Fed governors will drink money.

00:27:12.000 And so I'm not ultra bearish on equity.

00:27:14.000 I think they will now correct because the market is way overbought.

00:27:21.000 And so we can easily have a correction of 10-15%.

00:27:25.000 But I think as soon as the market drops, say, 15-20%, QE3 will come into play.

00:27:34.000 And all that It's favorable for silver and gold.

00:27:39.000 Now, the question is, is gold and silver expensive, or is it cheap?

00:27:47.000 Say, in 1999, you could buy an ounce of gold for $252.

00:27:52.000 Now it's $1,400.

00:27:52.000 Is it cheap or expensive?

00:27:59.000 Well, in a money printing environment, it's very difficult to decide what is expensive and what is cheap.

01:51:07.000 Wayne, you've heard me in the last three minutes break down my analysis of this and the horror of the prospect of UN, NATO, US-backed forces going into Tripoli.

01:51:21.000 Well, I still believe that what we're seeing in North Africa, especially North Africa, was triggered by the same forces that triggered the anti-government, anti-austerity moves in Greece, where we had riots there again over the austerity measures, the budget cuts in the last few days.

01:51:44.000 We saw it in Spain, we saw it in the UK, and I think this is What really was seething under all the other problems we had in North Africa. 0.90

01:51:57.000 Now, we know from the State Department cable, from WikiLeaks, that obviously the NGOs, the Soros-backed groups, the National Endowment for Democracy, the Freedom House, and these other Uh, uh, NGOs that are always in there trying to stir up the opposition were involved in all these countries.

01:52:20.000 They're bragging now, Wayne.

01:52:22.000 Yeah, but I think where they miscalculated is they thought that Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia and the Lotus Revolution in Egypt, that these were going to be soft-landing type changeovers, like they saw in Ukraine and a few of these other soft revolutions.

01:52:40.000 But they miscalculated, because of the unemployment and the high food prices, and the disgust, especially amongst the young people, about these regimes.

01:52:52.000 This thing, these exploded, and I believe that they're not under control anymore.

01:52:57.000 We know, there were signs that Qaddafi last month was thinking about succession.

01:53:04.000 I was on Saeed al-Islam, Qaddafi, I've written about this.

01:53:08.000 This guy was This guy was a sweetheart as far as the elites of Europe were concerned.

01:53:13.000 He's a good friend of Lord Peter Mandelson, the former British business secretary.

01:53:19.000 He's very good friends with Prince Andrew, and also very good friends with Nathaniel Rothschild, the scion of the Rothschild family.

01:53:26.000 This is a crowd he traveled with.

01:53:30.000 He's a graduate of the London School of Economics.

01:53:33.000 But now, we heard him defending his father on TV, talking about, you know, he'll be shot if caught with weapons and all this.

01:53:43.000 This is out of control.

01:53:45.000 I was in Qaddafi's tent in Tripoli in October 2009, and it was the 40th anniversary of the coup, which he called his Green Revolution, and overthrew the king.

01:53:56.000 But I find it interesting, last month Qaddafi Gave back royal property seized from the King's family.

01:54:04.000 King Idris Al-Sinusi.

01:54:06.000 Al-Sinusi were from Gaddafi, Cyrenaica. 0.65

01:54:10.000 That's the area that is broken away.

01:54:11.000 So, I believe that Gaddafi probably understood that there were rumblings in India that his days were short.

01:54:20.000 And he was looking at succession.

01:54:23.000 possibly a role for the former royal family who he had opposed in 69.

01:54:29.000 Now, we don't know where they stand, but I think it's very instructive that the flag being used by the opposition is the royal gold card flag.

01:54:58.000 And now they're reporting, The Wall Street Journal and others, that Qaddafi's, I believe it, I know he's got it, heavily armed, is going to try to use nerve gas on him.

01:55:09.000 Well, the Wall Street Journal, I'm always skeptical about them.

01:55:13.000 They're neocons, from the word go.

01:55:15.000 We also have his Justice Minister, who resigned, saying that Qaddafi was totally behind Lockerbie, when we know, to the contrary, it was Iran, of course.

01:55:28.000 Bush found it convenient to blame Qaddafi because he didn't want Iran getting involved with plans to go into Iraq during the lead-up to Desert Storm.

01:55:38.000 So there's a lot of people who have left Qaddafi's regime, who for one reason or another, sort of like those old Soviet defectors, they always would overstate the threat.

01:55:49.000 Or it's like all the Iraqi defectors that we now know were paid to lie.

01:55:53.000 Oh absolutely, like Kerbal.

01:55:54.000 So I would take some of what these guys are saying with a grain of salt about Qaddafi having bio and chemical weapons.

01:56:01.000 After all, he allowed inspectors in there under the Bush administration, the Lanser administration.

01:56:07.000 Uh, to turn all that stuff over.

01:56:11.000 So these people are obviously trying to score political points more with the Western media.

01:56:16.000 But it was quite clear when I was in Tripoli that Gaddafi, who gave a speech today where he's talking about he's no different than the Queen of England or the King of Thailand.

01:56:25.000 He's just a figurehead.

01:56:27.000 He has no real power.

01:56:28.000 Well, when you first land in Tripoli, you see his His portrait is everywhere.

01:56:33.000 Huge portraits on the sides of buildings.

01:56:37.000 Overpasses on the highways going into Tripoli.

01:56:41.000 In hotels, in lobbies, in offices everywhere.

01:56:46.000 You find Gaddafi looking down at you.

01:56:48.000 Kind of like Janet Napolitano on the high-tech telescreens going in 9,000 locations.

01:56:55.000 Another telltale sign of classical corruption in 1984 societies. 0.91
