01:10:28.000 So it goes over, you know, the analysis of what's going on and why we have trouble and what I think we should do.

01:10:35.000 But actually, the motivation for me to start to write it was just to write something much shorter and talk about the crisis in the inner city.

01:10:43.000 You know, the militarization of our police, the abuse of our civil liberties.

01:10:47.000 At the same time, the demands of the inner cities, because I sympathize with those who are on the receiving end of the militarization of the police.

01:10:56.000 At the same time, you know, those individuals in the inner city are, you know, they have been used to an entitlement mentality.

01:11:07.000 It just serves their interest to demand more and more, and then we end up in a conflict.

01:11:12.000 Each side has different demands.

01:11:14.000 I think each side are wrong to a degree, but I certainly think that the big issue of the inner cities, and I mentioned in my paper that this has been going on for a long time.

01:11:26.000 I think it was even in the 60s, the riots we had in the 60s had a lot to do with the inner cities and the poverty in the inner cities.

01:11:34.000 Everybody agrees there's poverty there, but some people think Well, we need more government transfer programs, which I don't agree with, but we need to understand first that we protect civil liberties for everybody, equally.

01:11:46.000 At the same time, we have to understand poverty, then you have to get into economic policy.

01:11:52.000 You have to get into the Federal Reserve, the destruction of the currency, the destruction of the middle class.

01:11:57.000 And why the welfare state ends up getting the very wealthy people in charge of the distribution of wealth.

01:12:04.000 So I've always maintained that welfareism, the principle, is so bad, but it's accepted by the far left and the people who want something for free, but they don't get anything because the people who are really in charge, the bankers and the military-industrial complex, they get in charge and they use that principle to their benefit.

01:12:24.000 And I think that's the mess that we're in today, because the cities are getting poorer, the middle class is being eliminated, and there's these constant demands, and I think it's because we've lost our way in the understanding of what personal liberty is all about, and property rights, and sound money, and all the things I've talked about for so long.

01:12:44.000 So I saw the big debate Between the militarization of the police and the people who are on receiving end and the poverty in the inner city, as a consequence of a lot of ignorance as far as what is good economic policy and what true liberty is all about.

01:12:59.000 I mean, true liberty doesn't mean that you get what you want and you demand it and that you're entitled to it.

01:13:04.000 That has nothing to do with liberty.

01:13:06.000 That represents a violation of liberty.

01:13:09.000 So that is the general theme of what I was writing about, but even though most of it was warning people and telling people what a mess I think we're in, I really conclude with a bit of optimism, as I always do, that, you know, the Internet is providing us a vehicle for getting our message out, and I think that The message is alive and well.

01:18:38.000 So, you know, if you really had an understanding of the Second Amendment, whether you were in Ferguson or wherever, if people started breaking in and you see people jumping in and out of the broken windows and hauling off their loot, it seems to me like maybe some of that could have been averted by just somebody having a right to defend themselves.

01:19:00.000 But evidently, That was not done, I guess.

01:19:05.000 Maybe the rules are too strict in places like this and in the cities.

01:19:09.000 So, I think they would be less of it if they knew that they were likely to be shot at if they broke into something.

01:20:00.000 I mean, for all intents and purposes, is Obama not setting the precedent for an imperial presidency and what should be done about it?

01:20:07.000 Well, he's continuing it, but that's been going on for so long, I mean, we could go back and study Woodrow Wilson.

01:20:14.000 He was no saint, you know, and even though some of that stuff, our government backed off after Wilson was out of office, after he died.

01:20:25.000 The process has continued.

01:20:29.000 You know, we haven't really had a constitutional president in a long, long time.

01:20:33.000 So whether it was Bush or... And Obama's just building on this.

01:20:36.000 Executive order's been around for a long time.

01:20:38.000 We've been going to war with executive orders and without declarations.

01:20:42.000 We have a monetary system that can bail out everybody, not only in the United States and our corporations, but worldwide.

01:20:50.000 Trillions and trillions of dollars, and that's not done with approval.

01:20:54.000 I think the Congress is totally derelict in their responsibility.

01:20:58.000 Because they allow it to happen.

01:21:00.000 And policies come, and the Fed does what they please.

01:21:04.000 There's no limits on which friends they can bail out.

01:21:08.000 So it is a process.

01:21:10.000 And yes, he's an imperial president, but he's just following in the footsteps of others.

01:21:15.000 And he has, you know, especially been bad on the curtailment of freedom of speech.

01:21:21.000 You talk about all this talk about what was going on in France.

01:21:25.000 I wish they would deal with, you know, what is going on in this country because Obama's been known to put people in prison if they don't reveal their sources.

01:21:36.000 And so freedom of speech is being attacked here as well.

01:21:40.000 That's right, on the heels of this so-called ISIS hack that's now been traced back to Maryland and U.S.

01:21:46.000 sources, just like the North Korea hack was fake, now Obama, AFP reports, has renewed push for cyber security and restricting Internet freedom.

01:21:56.000 Ron Paul, do you buy into ISIS being able to hack U.S.

01:22:00.000 military sites and take them over, or do you think this might be a false flag?

01:22:03.000 Well, I'm always skeptical.

01:22:05.000 What was it that they were blaming the North Koreans on long ago?

01:22:08.000 I said, they can't even turn on their lights!

01:22:11.000 You know, they don't have any lights there, it's a dark country, and they were accusing them of this expertise in something, you know, on the internet, and I was very doubtful.

01:22:21.000 So yes, you know, whether it's a deliberately planned false flag, or whether it is Accidental or a blowback or an unintended consequence.

01:22:32.000 It's always used to expand the state.

01:22:35.000 And then when there is a problem, there's an assassination or a bombing and we have a government investigation.

01:22:41.000 It's have an investigation where the investigation isn't to seek out truth.

01:22:46.000 And most of the time we never get to the truth, but we do get the defense of the government.

01:22:51.000 You know, when this torture issue came up and they had this, you know, right now they're not releasing the report, you know, in the Congress, and they should.

01:22:59.000 But they talked about all the torturers, and they're finding out that people were breaking the law right and left.

01:23:07.000 But none of them get punished.

01:23:09.000 None of them go to prison.

01:23:12.000 Nobody got penalized for messing up on the information that was available before 9-11.

01:23:19.000 But for the torturers, the only person that went to prison is the CIA agent that came clean and warned us and told us the truth about it, so we put him in prison.

01:23:28.000 That's what is disgusting and that is what people have to know.

01:23:32.000 And we're making progress here.

01:23:34.000 I think it's like 80% of the people are very untrusting toward the government.

01:23:40.000 You think, oh well that's terrible, you don't want people untrusting.

01:23:43.000 But if the government is not taking care of us and protecting our liberties, if the people are waking up and all of a sudden saying, hey you know, We can't really rely on the government to tell us the truth.

01:23:53.000 That means they have to seek the truth someplace else and hopefully we all can provide that for them.

01:25:12.000 But all of a sudden, what has happened the last couple of weeks was, First, it was, uh, they don't, they didn't want, uh, you know, Rand and others to get much attention, so they had to divert the attention.

01:25:25.000 Then they say, oh, Bush is going to run.

01:25:28.000 Yeah, Bush is a great candidate.

01:25:31.000 Bush, Bush, Bush.

01:25:32.000 He's, you know, getting ready, and he's going to have the money, and he's our guy.

01:25:36.000 But then, you know, there's dissension among the ranks, and evidently Romney wasn't too pleased to just step back.

01:25:45.000 So he's, you know, maybe I'm going to run.

01:25:47.000 So the media plays this up.

01:25:50.000 Now, the only two candidates that seem to exist will be Bush and Romney.

01:25:55.000 That's right.

01:25:57.000 So that's their way of exclusion.

01:25:59.000 And sometimes even when they say, well, there's now, you know, 10 people, 15 people going to run, They'll include Rand, but it's not where it was by all the polling, you know, a month ago.

01:26:10.000 These guys didn't even show up, but all of it, which means that he's on the receiving end that I guess I could say I had received as well.

01:26:20.000 They know how to handle it in the public if they think you're doing too well.

01:26:27.000 They don't want you to succeed.

01:26:29.000 Well that's why I thought it was smart that Rand started basically doing presidential-type election things first so that he would get the attention up front and is still a front-runner in most polls.

01:26:41.000 That's why they're scared and are trying to only put Jeb Bush and Romney out there and make that fight all about it.

01:26:48.000 We don't need Mitt Romney after two runs.

01:26:50.000 We don't need Jeb Bush.

01:26:54.000 These guys are just Democrats.

01:27:09.000 What can they do to really make sure that Rand stays at the top of the ticket?

01:27:18.000 A lot of people have asked me and I would sort of try to dismiss it a bit and say, well, do whatever you want, you know.

01:27:26.000 If you want to be involved, get involved.

01:27:28.000 If you like a candidate, support him.

01:27:31.000 You know, campaign.

01:27:32.000 And I thought that was what was so neat about our campaign, you know, is that a lot of people did spontaneously do a lot of things that organize and raise money.

01:27:42.000 So I think that people need to do something to be helpful and sometimes it's running for office and you know at the same time you're running for office that you can speak out about all the issues and all the other debates.

01:27:55.000 So it's something that the individuals has to decide.

01:27:59.000 Even if an individual is much more into education and teaching people why they should understand the issues that we're pushing, you know, on sound money and civil liberties, that to me is very important.

01:28:15.000 You have to change people's attitudes.

01:28:16.000 And that would help a person like Rand as well.

01:28:19.000 Ron, you've got to go.

01:28:20.000 You're already over.

01:28:20.000 I want to get any other just quick predictions, but please say to Rand, it's just my layman advice, do what Ted Cruz is doing, attacking Jeb Bush and attacking Romney as squishy metal, because that's what we need to keep him at the top.

01:28:35.000 From my view, he needs to come out.

01:28:38.000 In a classy way, obviously, and point out how bad Jeb Bush is, point out how bad Chris Christie is, point out how bad Romney is compared, or they are going to really try to push him to the back.

01:28:55.000 No, other than the fact that I think our economic crisis is going to continue.

01:28:59.000 It's going to get worse during this year.

03:03:07.000 On this gasoline, you know, just talking earlier to a guy in Tennessee that you made a comment about why diesel was so high and everything, and the reason is EPA did that, and it's because of the desulfurization of diesel.

03:03:21.000 And it's actually the low end of the distilling process.

03:03:24.000 It's on the heavier end because gasoline is made from it.

03:03:28.000 There could be different components that make it.

03:03:29.000 But anyway, in the long run, what this is going to do is it's helping the single parent families out there, the low gas process, but they don't see the big picture.

03:03:41.000 And eventually it's going to get them because you're right, eventually it's going to be five, six bucks a gallon.

03:03:47.000 But right now, it's the big boys that are falling.

03:03:50.000 Everybody's cutting back exploration, you know, aka the shell and the fracking and all that's cut back.

03:03:56.000 Here in Texas, WTI is going way down, which helps out the particular economy I'm at because we don't do exploration like those ones like Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips, and them.

03:04:08.000 They've already cut their capital spending for this year by 20%, which And that domino effect affects the people that do the turnarounds and do upgrades to refineries to expand.

03:04:24.000 So they cut that back.

03:04:26.000 Well, all the people that work for these contractors, subcontractors that come in and do this work for the refineries, they don't have a job because they're cutting back natural spending.

03:04:36.000 So they start laying off.

03:04:37.000 So eventually it trickles down to the low guy.

03:04:41.000 And it's going to hurt everybody.

03:04:42.000 I mean, you can see it.

03:04:44.000 I mean, the same thing happened in the 70s and 80s.

03:04:49.000 It's absolutely a way to knock out the competition and then massively increase the prices later.
