01:55:25.000 So, there is a reason to be concerned in the long term, because the direction that AI has been going, and not just AI, control theory, operations research, there are other disciplines aimed at exactly the same thing, which is producing the capability for making high quality decisions.

01:55:44.000 And if you have a system that can make very high quality decisions, which means it takes into account much more information than a human could do, it's able to look further in the future than a human could do.

01:55:57.000 The third part of the triangle, so to speak, is what's the objective?

01:56:02.000 So it's using lots of information, it's looking far ahead into the future, that's great.

01:56:06.000 What's the objective that it's trying to achieve?

01:56:10.000 If that objective is not perfectly aligned with the values of us humans, then that creates the possibility for bad things to happen.

01:56:21.000 That, in some sense, is the definition of conflict.

01:56:26.000 And getting into a conflict with systems that are more capable than we are doesn't sound like a good idea.

01:56:35.000 So the solution seems to be that we have to make sure the values of the machine are aligned with the values of the human race.

01:56:46.000 So, one way to get that to happen is for the machine to observe what humans do.

01:56:52.000 Not only what we do, but what is our attitude to what we do and what other people do.

01:56:58.000 So, if someone gets put in jail, we learn that that was an act contrary to human values.

01:57:05.000 If someone makes, gets up in the morning, makes a cup of coffee, then you, the machine learns that, you know, having some coffee in the morning is It's valuable to humans, vital to humans, and there is a lot of information out there.

01:57:22.000 Who gets to decide what is positively beneficial?

01:57:26.000 Is it going to be some government agency or some bureaucracy?

01:57:30.000 Who gets to decide?

01:57:31.000 Because, for instance, if you take autonomous drones, Well, what the human would want them to do is be really accurate and have precision, you know, so that it'll strike its target.

01:57:44.000 But maybe the person on the receiving end of that drone strike, that's not going to be beneficial to them.

01:57:51.000 And we know sometimes war is waged for the wrong reasons, and people decide for the wrong reasons that they want this machine to do their bidding, basically.

01:58:04.000 I mean that's not really something that people can even backtrack.

01:58:06.000 That technology is already there.

01:58:09.000 But so who kind of gets to decide what's beneficial and is there any way to control some of this?

02:14:49.000 I mean, we're talking about something that happened more than two years ago, and Congress still doesn't have the documents they've asked for time and again.

02:14:56.000 These guys literally had the gall to stand up there today, the Justice Department or State Department officials, and say, well, we're not really sure what documents it is you're looking for.

02:15:07.000 And the Republicans on the committee were all saying, look, we've told you over and over again what documents we want.

02:15:13.000 We want access to these 22 witnesses.

02:15:15.000 And you've got this State Department guy up there going, well, why don't you prioritize it?

02:15:20.000 We'll see if we can get to make that happen.

02:15:23.000 But really what they've been doing is, and this is what the media and the administration in Cahoots has been doing, is they're trying to, they're killing this thing by making it seem, they're dragging their feet on this so that nothing ever happens.

02:15:40.000 Like, recently they dumped a bunch of documents on a Friday, late on a Friday, and these were documents that, again, like you said, Judicial Watch got a hold of a bunch of great documents, showing what had really happened there and showing again that the administration was sitting on and not releasing all this information.

02:15:57.000 What the administration's goal is, what Obama's goal is, is to make this scheme as if it's just the Republicans on a witch hunt, there's nothing there, they just won't let it go, they just keep hounding about it.

02:16:13.000 They're still, you know, they're on and on again about this.

02:16:16.000 Well, that's because the Republican leadership doesn't ever attack.

02:16:21.000 If they would attack Obama on Obamacare, if they would attack Obama on blanket amnesty outside of law, if they would attack Obama on what really happened in Benghazi or Fast and Furious or IRSgate, he would be impeached right now.

02:16:35.000 And the truth is, from my view, they are bought and paid for by the same special interests, at least McConnell and Boehner are, and are basically letting Obama take over.

02:17:30.000 Now what happens when that starts to swirl around?

02:17:33.000 Nobody wants to get out ahead of it because if you vote against Boehner, And you don't oust them as Speaker, then you don't get any good committee assignments and you just made a powerful enemy.

02:17:43.000 So what happened there was a lot of guys who were ready to go, they ended up getting cold feet and everyone went back and went ahead and supported them.

02:17:51.000 But you still had 24 people vote against them, which was pretty bold.

02:17:55.000 And right now what's happening is the party is splintering on Capitol Hill.

02:18:00.000 There are different factions within Republicans that are not really accessible to the other factions.

02:18:08.000 There are key party guys.

02:18:10.000 There are guys who are really concerned about the overspending, the deficit spending, the massive national debt.

02:18:16.000 And they're not really on board with all of this sort of go along to get along, which is what's happening on Capitol Hill right now.

02:18:22.000 This idea that, you know, we need to negotiate with Obama.

02:18:26.000 We're never going to get anything done because Obama controls everything.

02:18:29.000 So there's a lot of unhappiness on Capitol Hill from a lot of Republicans and especially conservatives.

02:18:35.000 What they're finding out is that they're going to have a lot of trouble pushing things through because they don't have a solid majority that's going to be able to do.

02:18:43.000 They don't really have the kind of solidity that they need.

02:18:49.000 Not everyone, the unity that they're looking for is not there, and they're in trouble.

02:18:53.000 Well Joe, what's going to happen When the next election comes around and Republicans haven't delivered anything, haven't repealed any of Obamacare, have let Obama open the borders up, I mean there's going to be a huge backlash in my view and an even bigger Tea Party contention I think will be sent.

02:19:09.000 I think it's key for the Tea Party to explain that they've been betrayed and sat on by a bunch of rhinos and that we need to remove the rhinos if we have any hope. 0.92

02:43:03.000 He said a line in Iowa where he said, if you want somebody who agrees with you 100% of the time, look in the mirror, because that's the only one you're going to find.

02:43:21.000 We need to find somebody, you know, whoever it is, and we need to not hold our noses, but we need to get past some of the things that we don't necessarily like about him.

02:44:04.000 And he's another guy, when you match him up against Somebody like Chris Christie, you look at the state of Texas and you look at the state of New Jersey and just their finances, their budget, where everything's going.

02:44:19.000 I think it shows just how horrible the Democrats and how radical they are, that people like Rick Perry look good compared to them.
