02:43:02.000 The first front relates to the content of public school curriculum.

02:43:07.000 Many states are adopting curriculum that is incompatible with traditional Judeo-Christian principles, according to which parents are attempting to raise their children.

02:43:19.000 And they often do this without any opt-out provision for religious families.

02:43:26.000 Thus, for example, New Jersey recently passed a law requiring public schools to adopt an LGBT curriculum

02:43:33.000 that many feel is inconsistent with traditional Christian teaching.

02:43:38.000 Similar laws have been passed in California and Illinois.

02:43:42.000 And the Orange County Board of Education in California issued an opinion that, quote, parents who disagree with the instructional material related to gender, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation may not excuse their children from this instruction.

02:44:02.000 Indeed, in some cases, the schools may not even warn parents about the lessons they plan to teach on controversial subjects relating to sexual behavior and relationships.
