02:25:19.000 Could it have anything whatsoever to do with the fact that de Blasio, the mayor, did the prisons of criminals?

02:25:38.000 de Blasio set free 2,000 prisoners.

02:25:40.000 He celebrated this as a great victory, by the way, on several occasions.

02:25:45.000 50 of the first 1,500 who were released were re-arrested.

02:25:50.000 These included a rapist who was released and tried to rape again.

02:25:55.000 Another was a convicted murderer who tried to rob a bank.

02:25:59.000 Now, there's no problem with social distancing in New York jails.

02:26:07.000 They accused de Blasio of letting folks out for ideological reasons.

02:26:12.000 Now, in the same week that shootings surged 277%, de Blasio had the nerve to get on television and celebrate New York's record low population, prison population.

02:26:25.000 He said, we now have fewer people in our jails than any time since World War II.

02:26:30.000 And we're safer and better for it.

02:26:35.000 Shootings in the month of July, compared to the same month last year, have soared by 177%.

02:26:44.000 Murders are up 59%.

02:26:45.000 Burglaries are up 31%.

02:26:50.000 Just last week, between Thursday and Saturday, 49 people were shot in a 48-hour period.

02:27:01.000 That's approaching Chicago levels, or even greater.

02:27:05.000 There have been 1,087 shooting victims so far in 2020, compared to 577 at the same point last year.

02:27:59.000 He said during a press conference yesterday, you cannot dismiss these numbers.

02:28:05.000 You cannot look at this reality and say it doesn't exist because the reality is so clear.

02:28:10.000 And he blamed the police in the same breath of blaming the police.

02:28:12.000 He said data showed that 90% of the victims of these shootings are black and brown.

02:28:19.000 He said you want to talk about social justice.

02:28:20.000 You want to talk about civil rights.

02:28:22.000 You want to talk about social equity.

02:28:23.000 How do you explain that?

02:28:25.000 Well, you explain it because 90% of black murders, as we know by FBI stats, are black-on-black violence.

02:28:33.000 That's going to get worse if you empty the prisons of all the criminals.

02:28:39.000 The police aren't going to these areas because they're stretched out.

02:28:42.000 De Blasio had 27 police officers on rotation guarding a Black Lives Matter mural as crime surges in every category across the rest of the city.

02:28:55.000 They've defanged them in terms of telling them that they're unable to pursue and tackle criminals with force because, of course, not only do they fear prosecution personally, they fear literally starting nationwide riots and potential civil war in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd.

02:29:13.000 Obviously, you have the Ferguson effect, which we've seen for the past six years of police refusing to police these crime-ridden areas.

02:29:23.000 Therefore, the criminals feel emboldened.

02:29:27.000 Of course, you've got a $1 billion budget cut to the New York police, meaning there's less resources to tackle crime.

02:29:36.000 So how on earth does Cuomo have the nerve to blame the police when it's his policies, when it's de Blasio's policies, that have caused this in the first place?

02:29:47.000 And this isn't just in the bad areas, by the way.

02:29:50.000 Compared to the same period last year, Manhattan's Upper East Side has seen a 286% increase in robberies.

02:29:58.000 And again, this is why these entrepreneurs, these celebrities are all coming out in the media now and saying, we're getting the heck out of Dodge.

02:30:07.000 The Upper West Side has become a dumping ground for hundreds of homeless people, which the city has put up in luxury hotels at a cost of $175 per day per person.

02:30:16.000 That's funded by Partly by taxpayers, also by FEMA.

02:30:28.000 Problem is that these homeless people are all now spilling out onto the streets.

02:34:26.000 Commissioner Dave A. Choksky told New Yorkers to, quote, ignore misinformation about corona and go out and mingle with thousands of others to celebrate Lunar New Year.

02:34:37.000 Mark D. Levine, another health official in New York, praised crowds for defying coronavirus by gathering in huge numbers.

02:34:45.000 And then as late as March, Mayor de Blasio himself was broadcasting the same message, basically saying If you think coronavirus might be an issue, well, you're probably racist against Chinese people.
