01:59:53.000 Everybody knew there was a crisis in early 2021.

01:59:56.000 So they asked for volunteers from all federal agencies.

02:00:05.000 And they said, look, we need vetted people to come work.

02:00:08.000 And what we actually need them to do is help place migrant children with sponsors here in the United States.

02:00:17.000 And they said it was a family reunification program.

02:00:20.000 They said that what we would do was be helping on the border, you know, make sure that these children were reunited with their families.

02:00:28.000 And so, you know, I thought, as a federal employee, it's not very often that you get to do a humanitarian issue.

02:00:34.000 And it doesn't matter what side of the political aisle you're on.

02:00:39.000 I think all Americans agree that we need to take care of children who are here in the United States.

02:00:47.000 So I thought, you know what, that's what I'm going to go do.

02:00:50.000 My husband is from El Salvador, so I'm a Spanish speaker.

02:00:54.000 And I thought, you know, this would be something I could really do.

02:00:57.000 I could help these children.

02:00:58.000 I've traveled in El Salvador and Guatemala and Mexico.

02:01:02.000 And I thought, you know, I can do puzzles and color and help them feel safe after their journey until they can be reunited with their family.

02:01:12.000 So Alex, this was the sad, you know, sad moment is that about two weeks in to working in case management, me and the federal team working with some of the case managers there, we realized that something was dreadfully wrong.

02:01:29.000 The kids were in crisis.

02:01:31.000 They could not tell what their relationship was with the people that they were going to.

02:01:38.000 One of the little boys, and like I said, this is all in the first two weeks, starts telling the story about he's being recruited.

02:01:45.000 He and his sister were from Guatemala.

02:01:47.000 They were saying, look, we have to get out of here, we have to get out of here, we have to get out of here.

02:01:50.000 He ended up being on suicide watch.

02:01:53.000 Because the process, you know, we couldn't figure out, we couldn't get an ID that said where the children were actually going.

02:02:00.000 Every time we tried to verify an address, they would send us something different.

02:02:05.000 And so fortunately, you know, we knew something was wrong, but what we didn't know is that trafficking was going on in the program.

02:02:14.000 So we also didn't know that trafficking has gone on in this program, like you shared in the opening of your show, since the Obama administration.

02:02:22.000 So none of us knew that.

02:02:24.000 So when we show up to try to help these children, what we believe is family reunification, no one is even thinking, wow, there could be trafficking.

02:02:34.000 We need to really look into these sponsors.

02:02:37.000 Nobody was thinking that at all until this very first case two weeks in.

02:02:42.000 And by the end of that, me, the federal team, you know, this is a group effort.

02:02:48.000 Realized that we had a sponsor who had sponsored at six different addresses.

02:02:56.000 He and a group of people had sponsored over 18 children.

02:03:02.000 They had sponsored them from various emergency intake sites around the country over the course of a couple of years.

02:03:09.000 And then one of those who had been sponsored, who had turned 18, was now becoming a sponsor for another unaccompanied child.

02:03:19.000 So we turn this case in as suspicious sponsor.

02:03:25.000 I mean, we knew something was wrong.

02:03:27.000 We just didn't know what at that point.

02:03:30.000 So, our team, you know, we're looking at the news, we're trying to figure out what's happening, what's going on.

02:03:37.000 And that's when one of the other whistleblowers, Deborah White, she found the Senate report from 2016.

02:03:45.000 And I'll never forget the day that we sat there and we read through the Senate report, realizing that they knew since 2014 that there was trafficking in the program.

02:03:57.000 And the Senate report that was, you know, led by this investigative committee was led by Senator Portman.

02:04:06.000 It's about the Marion Egg Farm trafficking case in Ohio.

02:04:50.000 The children were being threatened with their lives.

02:04:55.000 They said, if you don't do what we say, we're going to put a bullet in your head.

02:04:59.000 And these children were in forced labor situations.

02:05:03.000 This was 2014.

02:05:03.000 And this is modern, modern slavery.

02:05:07.000 Trump kills it, pretty much, or correct me if I'm wrong, then it explodes once Biden gets in.

02:05:14.000 So, this program has gone just absolutely, it is out of control.

02:05:27.000 And they've lost control because, just like us, You know, we're mobilized.

02:05:37.000 We process over 8,300 children in less than six months, flying them out on planes in the middle of the night all over the country.

02:05:46.000 And none of us are trained to look for trafficking.

02:05:50.000 So we didn't even realize until like mid-June that they're trafficking the kids.

02:05:58.000 We figure out what the red flags are.

02:06:01.000 Well, gee, if somebody sponsored multiple children, well, that could be a red flag.

02:06:06.000 Hmm, if somebody's sponsoring at more than one address, maybe that's a flag.

02:06:13.000 But the sentiment on the site was, uh, you're not here to investigate sponsors.

02:06:20.000 You're here to reunite children with the sponsor.

02:06:27.000 I said I wouldn't, but we have footage, two years ago we shot, of literally,

02:06:31.000 we had an undercover police officer inside who wanted to work with us, a lady, I'll leave it at that. 1.00

02:06:38.000 She's in there listening in Spanish where these Caucasian men are in there.

02:06:42.000 One of them came out in front of us and are saying, "I'm here to take these girls. 1.00

02:06:48.000 "You promise me a bunch, I'm their sponsor."

02:06:51.000 He has a white van outside, and then he sees the lady, he starts talking to her,

02:07:01.000 I mean, it's like something out of Deliverance, and you're, of course, you were immersed in this.

02:07:05.000 I was just there off and on a few times, and I have nightmares about it.

02:07:08.000 I don't know how you guys can even deal with this, but sorry, I'm digressing.

02:07:13.000 It's just, I've seen it myself, the full horror, and then I've been contacted by federal judges

02:07:17.000 and others, I'll leave it at that, federal agents that are upset,

02:07:21.000 where the DHS will not indict a four-time convicted pedophile they caught driving a school bus

02:07:27.000 for disabled kids in South Texas.

02:07:29.000 And then when they try to charge him, the Justice Department will not even allow it.

02:07:33.000 I mean, it's just, so it's not just they've lost control, they're protecting him.

02:07:56.000 We had some great partners with USCIS.

02:07:59.000 On the team who got us into Polaris and got us OTIP training, which is Office of Trafficking in Persons.

02:08:06.000 They help us understand, you know, what are the different types of trafficking, right?

02:08:12.000 Because there's labor trafficking, there's sex trafficking, there's all different kinds, and it requires force, fraud, or coercion.

02:08:19.000 And so we were trying to discover from the children, tell us about your journey, tell us exactly what's happening, so that we could document At least when we left the site, nobody there was listening, but at least when we left the site that we could say, hey look, these are the addresses and these are the places... Yeah, because if human traffickers are bringing them to the border, they're going to be handed off to traffickers.

02:08:42.000 And that is when the bombshell hit at the end of August.

02:08:48.000 The end of August, a brave whistleblower, Aaron Stevenson of DHS, Who is a Marine who, you know, did tours in Iraq, and then he was a DoD contractor, tours in Afghanistan, and then he went on to work for DHS, and he was part of USCIS, and his mission was the TOC mission, which is Transnational Organized Crime.

02:09:19.000 And he, when he could get no resolution at DHS, he's sounding the alarms.

02:10:44.000 I mean, if people could just picture this, it's hundreds of case managers.

02:10:48.000 We have rows of tables, case managers on one side and then children would file in and sit on the other side.

02:10:55.000 This place, Myra Moreno, one of the other whistleblowers, she described it like the New York Stock Exchange.

02:11:01.000 I mean, papers are flying and people are yelling and, you know, it was pure pandemonium with just hundreds of people in this massive ballroom.

02:11:10.000 And I will never forget that moment when I saw his disclosure and I saw, you know, he flashed up the face of an 18th Street gang member as a sponsor and said that these people were getting sponsors.

02:11:28.000 And I thought, you know, my husband's from El Salvador.

02:11:32.000 And, you know, I've traveled there a lot.

02:11:34.000 MS-13 and 18th Street Gang are known for being violent, right?

02:11:43.000 We know about El Salvador until Bukele came in, the most dangerous country in Latin America. 1.00

02:12:10.000 And so Bukele, he built the largest maximum security facility prison in Central America.

02:20:10.000 Today, there are children calling a hotline saying, help me, I'm being abused, I'm being neglected, I'm being trafficked.

02:20:21.000 Those are the calls they're getting in.

02:20:23.000 And those are the children, despite language barriers and everything, that find out there's a hotline.

02:20:27.000 It's probably one out of a hundred.

02:20:31.000 So we know this is, we know it's a crisis.

02:20:37.000 They continue to be called to Capitol Hill with no answers whatsoever.

02:20:44.000 You know, the director of ORR, Robin Marcos, she has no response.

02:20:50.000 How would any political party, I know I said I wouldn't interrupt, but how would any political party, is this driven by the Democrats?

02:20:55.000 Republicans though are part of it because they've not impeached him yet, either Biden or Mayorkas.

02:21:03.000 I mean, why are they not even worried about the greatest human trafficking operation in modern history of little children?

02:21:20.000 So we, and I can tell you exactly what their mentality is because this is what one of their attorneys told me, my boss, okay, my boss.

02:21:33.000 She had appointed me to be her deputy of the federal case management team.

02:21:37.000 We had identified a location in Austin, Texas, where there was trafficking and I'll explain that story a little bit later because I know we need to go to a break soon.

02:21:52.000 So, in this particular case, we had a Guatemalan national who was living in Austin, Texas.

02:21:58.000 He owned a coffee farm in Guatemala, and he had boys working on his coffee farm in Guatemala for $2.50 a day.

02:22:12.000 You guys are special.

02:22:13.000 He said, if you come here, now I'm going to pay the journey out of the goodness of my heart.

02:22:18.000 You'll have to pay me back.

02:22:19.000 You got to stay with me and pay back the debt.

02:22:21.000 But if you come here, work for me, I'm going to pay you $6 an hour.

02:22:29.000 These four boys, one at our site, the Pomona Fairplex, three at the Pecos Emergency Intake site, all told the exact same story in separate interviews so they could not be tainted, that that was the plan.

02:22:45.000 So these little boys thought, I'm going from $2.50 a day to $6 an hour.

02:22:48.000 I'm going to be Elon Musk rich.

02:22:54.000 So that's the forced fraud coercion.

02:22:56.000 So we get permission to turn this case over to HHS Office of Inspector General.

02:23:02.000 Less than two weeks later, a case manager comes up to me and says, Tara, Tara, the same address on that same block where we've got 109 children.

02:23:18.000 We had evidence of one guy who was sponsoring into both apartments.

02:23:22.000 Okay, there's seriously shady stuff going on.

02:23:31.000 I picked up all my stuff.

02:23:35.000 And my, like I said, my boss is an attorney.

02:23:37.000 So I just said, hey, look, you know, I work for you.

02:23:41.000 But I've always been taught to say, hey, you know, maybe we need to have a moment to think.
