As a young child, it became confirmed in my mind that being Muslim meant that I was a terrorist.
00:00:04.800
It was a source of ridicule and I would really want to deviate away from those people and act
00:00:09.220
extra white next to my friends. I abandoned my race, my religion, my faith, my God, to the point
00:00:15.060
now that I'm literally reading the Quran. My mom used to make me read that when I was a child and
00:00:17.740
I never really wanted to, I always struggled or whatever. And now I've actively started reading
00:00:20.500
it by my own accord. Have you heard of the Save Iman Norway Masjid Project? Your brothers and

00:00:43.080
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh brothers and sisters and dear friends. I watched a video
00:00:46.660
somebody sent me of a brother called Hamza. He's born as a Muslim and he became atheist. And in this
00:00:52.880
video he talks about his reflections, about Andrew Tate and many other things. He's somebody
00:00:56.920
who focuses on developing oneself and becoming the better version of yourself. And that is amazing.
00:01:00.980
So there's some key things that he touched upon. Let's watch the video for ourselves and come back.
00:01:04.080
As a young child, it became confirmed in my mind that being brown was a bad thing. Being Muslim
00:01:08.780
meant that I was a terrorist. It was a source of ridicule and bullying in school. Till eventually
00:01:13.820
I started adopting more of this like white British culture. But I never really fit in with the people
00:01:19.340
here. But I also just see like this young boy who was so pressured by the society and the media
00:01:23.260
around him that convinced him that being brown was a bad thing, that being religious was a bad
00:01:26.900
thing, that being Muslim meant that you're a terrorist. And that's all I saw every single
00:01:30.280
day on the TV, every single day hearing the news and everything that, okay, brown people
00:01:33.720
are bad and, you know, Muslims are terrorists. And so of course I didn't want to identify
00:01:36.460
with that. When there would be like some kind of terrorist attack, I would literally personally
00:01:39.720
feel shame. And I would really want to deviate away from those people and act extra white
00:01:44.080
next to my friends. I abandoned my race, my religion, my faith, my God.
00:01:48.920
So one of the things that he mentioned was what? That he hated being brown. He hated being a Muslim.
00:01:53.280
And this is exactly one of the issues, subhanAllah, drive people away from Islam and the religion.
00:01:57.780
Why? Because of the inferiority complex. Because sadly, like he said, the news outlets, etc.
00:02:03.040
You know, Muslims have been dehumanized, etc. You want to de-associate yourself with it.
00:02:06.660
And sadly, sometimes that is the case. And with this case, subhanAllah, even though that was the
00:02:10.560
reason, but you can see that even popular influences like Andrew Tate and the likes, what happens is
00:02:14.880
that when you see such people come to Islam, etc. It also boosts your confidence a bit and also to be a bit
00:02:21.260
more comfortable and look into, you know, actually, maybe I might have mistaken. So it just shows you
00:02:25.220
how the dynamics in our society can have an impact on your decision making factors. And which is
00:02:29.940
another thing that Hamza mentions when it comes to freedom. Do we really choose?
00:02:34.080
Partying and drinking alcohol, enjoying yourself. I did all of that. You can literally see my journey
00:02:36.680
through these hundreds of videos that I've made. You can see that this is real, that I indulged in
00:02:39.380
that lifestyle. We have hundreds of videos of me in parties, hooking up with girls. I enjoy that
00:02:42.020
lifestyle. All that the godless West has to offer. And here I am today in front of you saying,
00:02:45.240
it wasn't that great. Because once you fulfilled all of these primal desires of yours, you're left with this
00:02:49.160
spiritual numbness, this emptiness. And this is one of the things that led me to Islam. I lived a very
00:02:53.120
similar lifestyle to you, Hamza. Partying, girls, all that kind of stuff that you lived. I lived that
00:02:57.560
lifestyle in and out. Partying, clubbing, different countries, you name it, you know. And it never
00:03:02.220
brought me happiness. It never brought me happiness. You know, as men, like you said before, the opposite
00:03:05.900
gender is because our biggest weakness. Partying, clubbing, trying to be cool, going gym, etc. I've done
00:03:09.780
all of that. And to be honest, to this day, I, you know, when it comes to personal development,
00:03:12.880
training, boxing, jogging, all that kind of stuff, I like to keep myself fit. So Alhamdulillah, we have a lot of
00:03:17.700
similarities between myself and you. You know, Masha, you're a handsome guy. I don't know. I don't
00:03:21.760
know if I'm as handsome as yourself, MashaAllah. But the thing is here, Alhamdulillah, we have some
00:03:25.660
similarities. One of the things that I noticed before I came to Islam was what? That I realized
00:03:30.200
that one philosopher said this as well, that man is born free, but in shackles everywhere. This concept
00:03:35.400
that we think that we have a choice, that we choose. Yes, we believe in free will, that God Almighty has
00:03:41.420
given free will. But we also believe in Qadr, that God Almighty has predestined everything. They work
00:03:45.940
together, how we don't know. But the point is this, I'm not talking about that. Our decision
00:03:49.220
factors are influenced by our society. You know very well and I know very well. The fact that you
00:03:52.560
went to the gym is why? Because of the opposite gender. I'm sure at one moment of time, myself as
00:03:56.460
well, I actually talk about this in a marriage documentary, is that there was a girl that I
00:03:59.600
liked. And I approached her, you know, I was not a Muslim then, and I got rejected. And that made me
00:04:03.340
feel like, you know what? I need to become the best version of myself. And it was kind of like a
00:04:07.140
repayment. It's like revenge. It was many factors that played a role in me developing myself,
00:04:11.480
bodybuilding, going to the gym, boxing, physical appearance, the clothes that I wear to the money that I
00:04:15.520
earn, etc. Played a massive factor. Because that energy that I took, that rejection, which is, you
00:04:20.460
know, as men, we get kind of rejected a lot, which is a part of the game. But the point is this, and
00:04:24.480
I'm not proud of any of this, just giving you guys a reminder. It's this energy that makes you go and
00:04:28.960
do certain things you do not want to do. And that is exactly what Hamza was talking about. And I knew
00:04:32.540
that these factors that I had and I was living by were not my choice. I did that because my society
00:04:37.140
pushed me into. And I would go to nightclubs and I would wear certain clothing that I was
00:04:41.060
absolutely uncomfortable in. Just as girls go in these high heels and these dresses, etc.
00:04:44.820
They are freezing. Why do they do it? Because they look good in it. The same way I would have
00:04:48.320
a specific jumper that would go to a nightclub because I believe that I look good in it. But
00:04:51.020
I hated it so much. It was so uncomfortable. Why did I do it? Out of choice or coercion?
00:04:57.140
It was absolutely coercion. Because I believe that I could look good in it. Game of Hayekka every
00:05:01.900
week, you know, it's expensive because I look good. That is the point, guys. And that's exactly
00:05:05.760
what Hamza is talking about when it comes to choice. You do not have a choice. These society
00:05:09.540
implement forces you to do things you don't want to do. And then you're told. If you're told how to
00:05:13.680
think, how could you ever say you have a choice? That is the point. Now, Hamza develops. Hamza
00:05:17.380
talks about developing yourself, your character, your income, etc. Now, this is well and good.
00:05:21.600
Hamza, I want you to realize something, my brother, because you're reading the Quran.
00:05:24.100
Now, Alhamdulillah, I'm really happy. May Allah bless you and keep you firm, inshaAllah.
00:05:26.620
As your brother, we're here for you. You know, off camera, if you want anything, get in contact
00:05:30.780
with me. I'm at your service. If there's any questions you have, you can watch my debates
00:05:33.520
and discussions I have with Christians, atheists. Maybe that can help you as well.
00:05:36.520
Look at the effort that we give to our appearance, yeah? Our body.
00:05:39.720
I know you're, if you're bodybuilding, you're going to be, what bicep? I mean, what body
00:05:43.380
you're training, yeah? How long you need to train it? How many sets you need to do? You
00:05:46.600
don't do the same workout again because it doesn't have the same effect on the muscle
00:05:49.340
growth, yeah? You need to change it up a bit. The food that you eat to the time you sleep,
00:05:53.500
yes? Everything is calculated. Why? Just to keep the body in shape. And the very same body
00:05:58.500
which is going to decay in our grave. What about the soul? What is the food for the soul?
00:06:02.460
The food for the soul is no other than but the remembrance of Allah. That's what Allah says
00:06:05.800
in the Qur'an. Only in my remembrance do hearts find peace. And another verse, Allah
00:06:09.820
subhanahu wa ta'ala says, if you forget my remembrance, you'll have a depressed life.
00:06:12.520
That's why no woman, cars, money, none of them did it for you. Just the way it didn't
00:06:16.100
do it for me. Because there comes a point you become desensitized to girls. You become
00:06:19.300
desensitized. And this is something to be, I'm ashamed of. It's not something I'm trying
00:06:23.060
to mention like I'm proud of. It just shows you guys that as non-Muslims, when we live
00:06:26.500
this lifestyle, wallahi, it will never bring you happiness. And the point is this,
00:06:30.140
my brother Hamza. Wallahi, you will only find true happiness and the sweetness
00:06:34.020
of faith when you turn to Allah. And the effort that we give to our body and the effort we
00:06:38.560
give to prove people, to prove stuff to people, whatever it may be, from the lifestyle that
00:06:42.680
we live in to the stuff that we drive, whatever it may be. If only we focus that energy to
00:06:45.960
the one who created us. If we give all that effort to our bodies and the people that we
00:06:50.240
want to help, whatever it may be, yeah, or prove to you. What about the one who created
00:06:54.280
us and perfected us and sustains us till this very day? Even when you're using atheist, you're
00:06:59.220
coming and ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that inshaAllah you come to Islam. Even in this
00:07:03.080
journey, bro, Allah carried on providing for you. Allah carried on looking after you.
00:07:07.540
This is how merciful Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is. He is the most merciful and very merciful.
00:07:11.520
And he wants nothing but Jannah for you. And that's what Allah says in the Quran in Surah
00:07:15.320
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of the night
00:07:29.120
and day, there are signs for those who have intellect. Those who ponder and think, hold
00:07:33.200
on a second, this cannot come from nothing. All this cannot be from nothing. It has to be
00:07:36.980
from somewhere. And that's what I can see in you, this awakening. You know, we can see
00:07:40.560
that you are waking up to this reality. And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the Quran
00:07:45.020
in Surah Tur, is it that they are created by none? Or are they themselves the creators?
00:07:49.420
Or have they created the heavens and the earth? No, but they are sure of nothing. And every
00:07:53.540
time I have a debate with atheists, they end up saying, I don't know. I don't know. We
00:07:56.840
just don't know. Every single time. Watch my debate. And the very powerful verse which
00:08:00.080
I'm going to end in Surah Al-An'am. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says, and this is so, so powerful.
00:08:04.400
00:09:01.960
All praises belongs to Allah who created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light, yet those who disbelieve equate others with their Lord.
00:09:09.980
He is the one who created you from clay and destined the term. The fixed term lies with Him yet you are in doubt.
00:09:15.320
He is the true God in the heavens and the earth. He knows what you conceal and what you reveal and He knows what you earn.
00:09:22.080
Yet whenever a sign from the sign of their Lord comes to them, they do nothing but turn away from it.
00:09:26.320
So they rejected the truth when it came to them. Now there shall come to them a full account of what they used to ridicule.
00:09:32.600
You are always worshipping something. If you're an atheist, which I am, so I'm not being hateful or anything, but I am too.
00:09:36.240
But if you're an atheist and you don't believe in God, you're still worshipping something. You still have some kind of God, okay?
00:09:39.600
It's not a religious God. It's not the God from the Bible. It's not Allah. But you still worship something.
00:09:42.360
You know, I carry this concept. I hope this makes sense. I carry this concept in my mind, okay?
00:09:44.300
You're always worshipping something. Religious people worship a God and a holy book. Atheists, what do they worship?
00:09:47.880
My brother Hamza, like you said before, atheists also believe in God. All they do is just give God's attributes and credit to Mother Nature.
00:09:55.520
Evolution, randomness, big bang. These are the things that created us. This is the greatest oppression against God.
00:10:01.120
The one imagine who caters and provides for us and looks after us and gives us everything in what's paradise for us.
00:10:05.920
We turn around our back to Him and we insult Him and we give what is due to Him to others.
00:10:11.800
And that's why you speak to atheists. They give that credit to all of these entities. Yes? These things.
00:10:17.540
Which none of them deserve to be God and never can be God.
00:10:20.080
To the point now that I'm literally reading the Quran. My mom used to make me read that when I was a child and you know, I never really wanted to.
00:10:23.860
I always like struggled or whatever. And now I've actively started reading it by my own accord.
00:10:26.540
And I called my mom two days ago and told her and I just saw like the biggest smile on her face when I told her that I started reading, you know, our holy book.
00:10:30.720
And she just got like so happy. She told me it was the right thing. She told me that this, you know, this was the way forward.
00:10:33.460
I ask you, my brother Hamza, inshaAllah, that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala guides you and myself that this path that you've started by reading the Quran,
00:10:39.620
indeed the Quran is a light. Indeed the Quran is a guidance. You've started in the most beautiful place, Hakim.
00:10:44.900
Please, please make du'a. Before I came to Islam, I made this du'a. Make du'a and say, oh Allah, if you are there, please guide me.
00:10:49.860
If this is the truth, show me signs and guide me. Till next time, brothers and sisters, send this to brother Hamza, inshaAllah.
00:10:53.780
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala guide him. And if you need any information, if you want to get in contact, I'm free for you.
00:10:57.620
We can go eat something inshaAllah, if you're in London or wherever. Till next time, assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
