00:00:01.000 Excuse me, we're not allowed to make any shoes.
00:00:05.000 Yeah, we asked, but they said we're from outside.
00:00:07.000 Not from here.
00:00:08.000 Oh, okay.
00:00:14.000 I actually didn't know he was a new job, didn't you know that?
00:00:16.000 Yeah.
00:00:17.000 I thought he was the other guy.
00:00:19.000 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, brothers and sisters.
00:00:22.000 Hope he's out there well, inshaAllah.
00:00:24.000 Haven't seen Hijab for a bit of a while.
00:00:27.000 Alhamdulillah, on this special occasion of sentencing, we came.
00:00:30.000 Alhamdulillah.
00:00:31.000 Sorry, Mr. Alhamdulillah.
00:00:32.000 So, okay, Hijab, why are we here today?
00:00:35.000 So, what happened was after the incident that took place with the FLA,
00:00:40.000 the Football Lads Association, and the Toby Robinson protest that took place,
00:00:45.000 I don't know, was that two years ago now?
00:00:46.000 Nearly.
00:00:47.000 Nearly two years ago, in the summer.
00:00:50.000 What happened was that they identified one of the people that was like the key culprits in the assault.
00:00:56.000 Obviously, if you remember, for those who don't remember, it was like 30 on one or 30 on two, let's say.
00:01:02.000 There was 100 on the two.
00:01:03.000 Was it more than that?
00:01:04.000 Maybe 50.
00:01:05.000 There was 100, but there was 100 there.
00:01:06.000 Yeah.
00:01:07.000 People that were basically rushing us, to put it in the slang term.
00:01:10.000 They were rushing us.
00:01:11.000 Anyway, so what happened was the police contacted me and said that they identified one of the people.
00:01:17.000 Actually, the only way in which we were able to identify that person is through the good effort of a lot of people online.
00:01:23.000 Yeah, yeah.
00:01:24.000 Including yourself.
00:01:25.000 He even actually had a tag name called Noodlehead.
00:01:27.000 Is it?
00:01:28.000 Yeah, yeah.
00:01:29.000 That's why.
00:01:30.000 So we were able to get, kind of track him down.
00:01:32.000 And so we followed it through, Alhamdulillah.
00:01:34.000 Today, kind of went to court and he pleaded guilty to religiously aggravated assault.
00:01:40.000 Which means that...
00:01:41.000 And afraid, but they dropped that because of his plea guilty.
00:01:43.000 Yeah.
00:01:44.000 No, but he only pleaded guilty to the religiously aggravated assault.
00:01:48.000 Yeah.
00:01:49.000 Now the point is that, first of all, what this does is it shows us the true intentions of people who follow Tommy Robinson.
00:01:55.000 Yeah.
00:01:56.000 They say that, well, they are not aggravated by Muslims.
00:02:00.000 Yeah.
00:02:01.000 They're not actually motivated to attack them physically.
00:02:02.000 We don't hate Muslims.
00:02:03.000 Yeah, we don't hate Muslims.
00:02:04.000 And that their beliefs or their ideological belief system won't cause them to do extremist things.
00:02:09.000 Yeah.
00:02:10.000 But actually, he pled guilty to religiously aggravated assault.
00:02:13.000 Yeah.
00:02:14.000 Which the judge called today a form of extremism.
00:02:16.000 Yeah.
00:02:17.000 In his understanding.
00:02:18.000 Definitely, yeah.
00:02:19.000 And so he was given no sympathy in court.
00:02:22.000 Unfortunately, he didn't get any sentence, like any prison sentence, but he does have a community order.
00:02:27.000 Yeah.
00:02:28.000 Now...
00:02:29.000 750 pound fine.
00:02:30.000 For me, I'll tell you what this means to me and what kind of lessons we can kind of get from this for next time.
00:02:34.000 Yeah.
00:02:35.000 And I'll tell you, then you can tell me what you think.
00:02:37.000 Okay.
00:02:38.000 There's good and bad in what happened today.
00:02:40.000 The good is obviously that at least one person was brought to justice.
00:02:43.000 Yeah.
00:02:44.000 But I'm thinking to myself, there was more than just that individual.
00:02:47.000 Yeah.
00:02:48.000 There was like, as you know, there was the people who actually got physical with me.
00:02:51.000 Six, seven.
00:02:52.000 At least ten.
00:02:53.000 I would say at least ten.
00:02:54.000 Yeah.
00:02:55.000 Yeah.
00:02:56.000 Like six or seven at the back and then two or three at the back.
00:02:57.000 At least ten actually landed blows on me, right?
00:03:00.000 So that's, for me, in one sense, there has been a, there has been a justice that has been upheld.
00:03:07.000 But in other senses, there has been a miscarriage of justice.
00:03:09.000 Yeah.
00:03:10.000 Because what about all of the other people?
00:03:11.000 Is it just the case?
00:03:12.000 And this makes me actually doubt some of the Metropolitan Police's, seriously, honestly, their methods.
00:03:18.000 Because, is it only because we were able to identify and find one person on social media that we're able to bring them to court?
00:03:25.000 But what about, what methods do you have?
00:03:27.000 I mean, we have video graphic evidence that was, that was shown by hundreds of thousands of people.
00:03:33.000 Yeah.
00:03:34.000 Their faces were identified.
00:03:35.000 We know what they look like.
00:03:37.000 I mean, is the police not able to track these individuals down?
00:03:40.000 And I had this conversation with police officers, but it seems to me there's work to be done from that angle.
00:03:44.000 Well, of course, definitely.
00:03:45.000 They did a good job on the day.
00:03:46.000 Yeah.
00:03:47.000 On the day that, yeah.
00:03:48.000 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:03:49.000 So let's give credit where it's due.
00:03:50.000 Yeah, yeah.
00:03:51.000 But like I said, there's more to be done.
00:03:52.000 But I think what we need to realise today with what's happened as well is because we know some figures,
00:03:56.000 Caelan Robertson, who used to be very close to associate with Tommy Robinson, has left their movement.
00:04:00.000 Yeah.
00:04:01.000 And has, in other words, said that what we did with the permission of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala actually dismantled the whole organisation.
00:04:06.000 Yeah.
00:04:07.000 And this is profound.
00:04:08.000 And all praises belong to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that we're not seeing this to ask credit for ourselves.
00:04:11.000 And even asking for youngsters to watch us because we went there because we were invited.
00:04:14.000 We would be our fault if we wasn't invited, we're going to cause trouble.
00:04:17.000 So what we need to understand is that far-right terrorism is growing at the moment.
00:04:20.000 So we know in Germany nine people were shot dead by a far-right maniac.
00:04:24.000 And we know what happened at Christchurch.
00:04:26.000 So we can see and also recently what's happening with ISIS carrying that attacks.
00:04:29.000 So we can see it's a tit for tat happening.
00:04:31.000 And we are victims to that because people like you and me and people who are walking,
00:04:35.000 going about their day-to-day life with the general British public, be they're Muslim or non-Muslim.
00:04:39.000 If they're a non-Muslim, they're getting killed at the hands of ISIS.
00:04:41.000 If they're a Muslim, they're getting killed at the hands of the far-right.
00:04:43.000 So you can see these people are just feeding off each other.
00:04:46.000 And I've always said this, they are business partners.
00:04:47.000 Because it's like you have somebody who's going and smashing windows and you have somebody who's selling windows.
00:04:51.000 So they work with each other.
00:04:52.000 I'll give you a bit.
00:04:53.000 You smash the window.
00:04:54.000 I'll, you know, wish it.
00:04:55.000 And this is exactly what's happening.
00:04:56.000 Right.
00:04:57.000 And that's why we need to understand that this is a war, not literally,
00:05:00.000 but in the context of intellectual war to combat this.
00:05:04.000 Because at the end of the day, it's lame and people like us who are going about their day-to-day life,
00:05:08.000 that are falling victim to these one by one, while these people are being brainwashed,
00:05:12.000 be it from Christchurch, be it to Germany, you know, the far-right movement in Europe is growing.
00:05:16.000 So I think it's important for us to understand that we are going to carry on,
00:05:20.000 doing our work, inshallah, to answer those misconceptions.
00:05:23.000 Because I believe it's a lack of communication that's causing hatred and animosity.
00:05:27.000 So I think it was a good success.
00:05:29.000 I believe he should have gotten more instead of a hundred hours of painting a wall.
00:05:33.000 I hope we picked which wall he painted, to be honest, and what to paint on it.
00:05:37.000 But again, you know, I feel sorry for his family, his daughter and his wife was here.
00:05:41.000 And we heard statements that, you know, he was on the verge of divorce or whatever.
00:05:45.000 How true or like, we don't know.
00:05:47.000 But yeah, so at the end of the day, you know, we just wanted to raise awareness to that, inshallah.
00:05:50.000 And yeah, you know, if there's anything else you want to add on.
00:05:52.000 I just, I agree with you, like, you know, extremism begets extremism.
00:05:56.000 Terrorism begets terrorism, you know.
00:05:58.000 Arrogance begets arrogance.
00:06:00.000 At the end of the day, what it is, is the judge said it good.
00:06:02.000 I think the judge was actually quite articulate in his expression.
00:06:05.000 He said that at the end of the day, you're going to have to get used to the fact that we're all living in this country together.
00:06:10.000 And it's a multicultural, multi-faith society.
00:06:12.000 Now, yeah, he said there can be room for vigorous, you know, disagreements between peoples.
00:06:18.000 And which we do.
00:06:19.000 I think it can be healthy to disagree with someone.
00:06:22.000 But so long as we bring it back to a certain level of tolerance, which allows for other people to be able to exist.
00:06:29.000 And we have it in our worldview, in our tradition.
00:06:31.000 The Quran says,
00:06:33.000 In chapter 2, verse 256, there is no compulsion in religion.
00:06:38.000 And truth has been made clear from falsehood.
00:06:40.000 The Quran says,
00:06:42.000 Whoever wants to can believe.
00:06:44.000 Whoever wants to can disbelieve.
00:06:45.000 The Quran says,
00:06:47.000 You have your religion and we have our religion.
00:06:50.000 By the end of the day, you know, we're going to need to learn to get on with each other.
00:06:54.000 And I feel like with figures of hate and stuff like that,
00:06:58.000 Tommy Robinson or whoever it may be, who may be, who is pushing, you know, this.
00:07:02.000 Definitely, definitely.
00:07:03.000 We need to understand.
00:07:04.000 It's more than verbal, man.
00:07:05.000 I think that day was a day of experiment for us.
00:07:08.000 You know, it was an experiment to find out today.
00:07:09.000 Are they really going to let me speak?
00:07:10.000 As a Muslim, is it really a freedom of speech event?
00:07:12.000 And it totally backfired because, you know, if you think about it, there was an infight happening within that.
00:07:17.000 It's called a splinter in the group.
00:07:18.000 Yes, exactly.
00:07:19.000 And what happened is because those who were truly for freedom of speech, like Lucy Brown, Caden Robertson and George, if I'm not mistaken,
00:07:25.000 they were really, and Tommy Robinson was more, his true colors were coming out.
00:07:28.000 So they were exposed and they were thinking, hold on a second.
00:07:30.000 All this time, this guy wasn't about freedom of speech because he wouldn't let Ali speak.
00:07:34.000 The fact that he's not, it shows that this is not a matter of freedom of speech.
00:07:37.000 There is somebody out there, vocally, even though saying, I don't hate Muslims.
00:07:40.000 It's just the ideology of Islam, there's a deeper hatred going on inside.
00:07:43.000 And we know that through the Quran, we know through the Prophet's life.
00:07:47.000 And the Quran talks about that, you know, you know, it was indeed, they were, you know, attacking you first, you know,
00:07:52.000 for what other reason, but that you believe in Allah and his messenger.
00:07:55.000 And so when we hear these things where, oh, no, I'm just here about Islam.
00:07:58.000 I don't hate Muslims.
00:07:59.000 This is nonsense.
00:08:00.000 These are gradual steps that we know in Nuremberg, Nazi Germany.
00:08:03.000 Nobody, Hitler did not go to his people and said, shoot the Jews.
00:08:08.000 It was a gradual process of hatred, dehumanization, where people were ready to pull the trigger.
00:08:12.000 And this is what's happening now gradually.
00:08:14.000 And we're going to put a stop to that.
00:08:16.000 And this was just first steps to that.
00:08:18.000 And we asked, you know, Allah to accept it from us, everybody,
00:08:22.000 because you guys who were watching this helped us catch people like this guy,
00:08:26.000 even though his noodle head was, you know, very, you know, you couldn't miss him really.
00:08:30.000 But yeah, that's it, man.
00:08:32.000 I got to think about one more thing just to end this off.
00:08:35.000 Just to end this off is like, what kind of world do you want your children to live in?
00:08:38.000 You know what I mean?
00:08:39.000 I want my children to live in a world where, honestly,
00:08:42.000 whether it's a state ruled by non-Islam or a state ruled by Islam,
00:08:46.000 wherever they may be, my children, I want them to be able to communicate
00:08:50.000 and to, you know, interact with people from different faith groups
00:08:54.000 and different race groups and whatever it is.
00:08:56.000 Honestly, that is the way forward for humanity.
00:08:59.000 If the moment we start thinking about, you know, getting at this person or that person
00:09:03.000 or seriously, like, or this group or that group, it will just become divided in society.
00:09:08.000 You know, in the court, there was something profound that was said.
00:09:10.000 He was saying that he was going through a bad phase of his life, yeah?
00:09:12.000 And that really caught my attention because the thing is that if you look at ISIS members or far-right,
00:09:17.000 most of them are troubled individuals.
00:09:19.000 So those who are carried out, the London Bridge attacks, et cetera,
00:09:21.000 if you look at them, there are genuine problems.
00:09:23.000 Some of them even girlfriend-related, be it far-right, whoever.
00:09:26.000 So they have this inner hatred within their self and they want to release it somehow
00:09:30.000 because all of us go for problems and struggles, yeah?
00:09:32.000 Sometimes, you know, you might be going, driving down the road,
00:09:34.000 somebody knows you and you lash out, you know?
00:09:36.000 And it's just a form of, you know, you want to lash out and express it.
00:09:40.000 So you can express it in different means.
00:09:41.000 You can attack somebody that's innocent, that's not doing nothing,
00:09:43.000 but your hatred built inside, you want to take that out.
00:09:46.000 And what happens is, you want a belonging.
00:09:48.000 And this is what ISIS does.
00:09:49.000 It takes these people who are troubled and says,
00:09:51.000 come on board, you're one of us, you know, et cetera, et cetera.
00:09:53.000 And the far-right does the same thing.
00:09:54.000 So if you're a young British lad watching this, be Muslim or not Muslim,
00:09:58.000 do not fall for these traps because what's going to happen is,
00:10:00.000 while they're sipping their tea in their comfy houses like Tommy Robinson in their houses,
00:10:04.000 in his jacuzzi, sipping his alcohol or whatever,
00:10:07.000 you are the one, his little full soldiers who are going out,
00:10:09.000 they're carrying out these attacks and killing innocent.
00:10:11.000 And the same goes with ISIS.
00:10:12.000 Well, Abu Bakr Baghdadi, don't know if he's dead or alive,
00:10:14.000 he's the one who's training these soldiers or Anjum Chowdhury
00:10:17.000 and you guys are carrying out the attacks, killing yourself, ruining your family
00:10:20.000 and thinking that Allah is going to accept this from you
00:10:22.000 at the cost of them just sipping their tea in their comfy houses.
00:10:25.000 Don't fall victim because we was a victim.
00:10:28.000 I believe this guy, even though I despise him, he was a victim.
00:10:33.000 So that was it from us.
00:10:34.000 And we hope, keep yourself, keep us in your duas, inshallah.
00:10:37.000 Hijab, it was a pleasure to see you again.
00:10:39.000 Thank you.
00:10:40.000 Hope to see you again next time.
00:10:41.000 May Allah bless you guys, brothers and sisters.
00:10:43.000 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
00:10:45.000 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
