Summary

Jummah Kutbahaykum: Those we have buried are not actually dead. They have entered the barzakh, a parallel existence where there are people right now that are just as alive as you. Some are watching green birds that were once in bodies of martyrs soar above them, others are drowning in rivers of blood, some are dwelling in beautiful homes among family members that have been dead for decades, and others are busy being devoured by beasts with many heads.

00:00:00.000 it starts with the basic truth those we have buried are not actually dead
00:00:05.160 they've entered the barzakh a parallel existence where there are people right
00:00:10.200 now that are just as alive as you I was doing that once in speaker's corner and
00:00:15.280 one girl came to me she said I left Islam I was curious I said like what's the
00:00:21.560 reason and she specifically mentioned Gaza this was a couple of years ago it's
00:00:25.680 not even what's going on now so she was like I left Islam and I was like okay
00:00:30.860 so it really amazed me like a thought came to my mind I was like wow and I
00:00:35.040 expressed it to her I said I said sister don't you think it's amazing that you
00:00:38.680 just imagine the people back in the day when they would have to travel certain
00:00:45.000 distances for months or even years what is one thing that they would carry with
00:00:48.840 them the Quran why because they did not have it on their mobile devices or their
00:00:53.640 gadgets brothers and sisters imagine you have a app the Qurany app which not
00:00:58.620 only shows you how much rewards you get but reminds you to read the Quran gives
00:01:03.880 you reminders download the Qurany app now and let it testify for you on your
00:01:07.880 time of the Quran that you read it wherever you was
00:01:10.680 Asalaamu Alaikum wa rahmatu wa barakatu brothers and sisters and dear friends
00:01:13.860 call it you guys inshaAllah Asalaamu Alaikum Ustah Al-Mahayyam
00:01:16.280 Asalaamu Alaikum-Hailaikum How are you?
00:01:17.380 Alhamdulillah good Alhamdulillah so I came inshaAllah to see Ustah Al-Omar in a specific location
00:01:22.360 we're not going into detail of course it's classified but Alhamdulillah I got a chance to sit with
00:01:26.380 him speak with him got to know him better Alhamdulillah and yeah Alhamdulillah got nothing but good to say
00:01:31.700 And Alhamdulillah, Yaqeen Institute has really helped me in my da'wah as well when it comes to prophecies
00:01:36.420 I believe it's prophecies be a great role, like me when it comes to convincing people of Islam
00:01:40.000 So yeah, may Allah bless and preserve you, inshaAllah
00:01:42.300 So you've got this series that is coming out, it's called The Other Side
00:01:48.900 So we're going to watch it, we're going to react to it because there's a lot of lessons to be learned from it
00:01:53.820 Because I found it really powerful, so are you ready to watch yourself?
00:01:56.900 See you on the other side
00:01:58.060 I'll probably put my head down, inshaAllah
00:01:59.140 Are you sure?
00:02:01.700 Where are you going?
00:02:03.660 And how do I know I'll make it there?
00:02:05.940 What's it like over there?
00:02:07.880 Is there a way you can tell me about it?
00:02:10.280 Am I viewed amongst the righteous or the wicked?
00:02:13.540 What's real about what's around me right now?
00:02:17.220 There's this world you're in and another world that simultaneously exists that you can't see
00:02:21.980 But it sees you
00:02:23.380 Allah, the angels and other elements of the unseen are watching you
00:02:28.340 And you're only one step away from it
00:02:31.060 It starts with a basic truth
00:02:34.020 Those we have buried are not actually dead
00:02:37.320 They've entered the barzakh
00:02:39.520 A parallel existence where there are people right now that are just as alive as you
00:02:44.580 Some of them are watching green birds that were once in bodies of martyrs soar above them
00:02:50.120 Others are drowning in rivers of blood
00:02:52.600 Some are dwelling in beautiful homes among family members that have been dead for decades
00:02:58.020 Others are busy being devoured by beasts with many heads
00:03:01.660 So what is this realm?
00:03:03.700 And what do we know about the people who reside in it?
00:03:06.680 And what would knowing about that world do for us today to make sense of the world we live in right now?
00:03:12.740 And what does it mean for us in our own individual journeys?
00:03:17.040 Trying to find our way back to Allah
00:03:18.840 To the quil amounts within the Fields
00:03:24.980 To the birds in sea
00:03:27.540 To the bird animals
00:03:30.420 To the birds in sea
00:03:31.860 To the birds in sea
00:03:34.360 To the birds in a sea
00:03:35.800 An almostços of the sky
00:03:37.760 And we instantchos来了
00:03:38.780 To the birds in sea
00:03:40.320 By the internet
00:03:41.160 To the birds in sea
00:03:42.700 To the birds of water
00:03:44.140 Also to know how about the birds below
00:03:45.100 And where to see things
00:03:46.260 So, Subhanallah, that was very powerful from the production to, you know, explanation.
00:04:11.360 What comes to my mind is, you know, when we're looking at Gaza, I spoke to you about this yesterday as well.
00:04:19.300 I was doing that once in the speaker's corner, and one girl came to me, and she said, I left Islam.
00:04:26.080 I was curious, I said, like, what's the reason?
00:04:29.020 And she specifically mentioned Gaza.
00:04:30.660 This was a couple of years ago.
00:04:32.100 It's not even what's going on now.
00:04:34.320 So, she was like, I left Islam, and I was like, okay.
00:04:38.040 So, it really amazed me, like, a thought came to my mind, and I was like, wow.
00:04:40.540 I said, and I expressed it to her.
00:04:42.200 I said, I said, sister, don't you think it's amazing that you are living in the West?
00:04:47.020 You're living in some sort of comfort.
00:04:48.760 You don't have to worry about, you know, your life being in danger, bonds dropping, et cetera.
00:04:53.620 And yet, you have doubted Islam because of what you see.
00:04:57.020 We call this the problem of evil.
00:04:58.240 It's the shubha had.
00:04:59.500 However, I said, the very people that you're looking at, their suffering, has led you to live Islam,
00:05:05.400 is doing the opposite effect on them.
00:05:07.720 They are the ones that are actually suffering.
00:05:09.560 They're the ones, if there's anyone that we can say, could, Ghani, should be saying what you're saying to them,
00:05:15.840 but they're doing the opposite.
00:05:17.140 Right.
00:05:18.860 What would you, like, say to that?
00:05:20.460 Because a lot of people are, like, we, it's in our dawah table.
00:05:23.300 People are just amazed of the people in Gaza.
00:05:26.220 This doesn't make sense to them.
00:05:27.520 It's like, like, how does this woman come and pick up the body parts of his daughter, son,
00:05:31.660 and say, yeah, this is Adam's leg, and says, alhamdulillah, like, I look at that as a Muslim.
00:05:36.860 Forget a disbeliever.
00:05:37.500 I look at that as a Muslim and go, can I say those words if that was my kids?
00:05:43.400 And I have a big question about myself.
00:05:44.700 I say, I don't know if I can say that.
00:05:46.660 What makes these people so unique?
00:05:50.280 And please tell us this series, what's inspiring you to talk about the outside?
00:05:54.060 Firstly, when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala describes the descent of the Qur'an
00:06:04.540 as being a means by which he divides the believers from the hypocrites,
00:06:08.980 that it sends some people on a journey back to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
00:06:12.040 and it sends others on a journey down a very dark path,
00:06:15.960 that it's a furqan, that it's a criterion.
00:06:18.620 The people of Qur'an also, and there are no people that can rightfully be called
00:06:23.560 the people of Qur'an in the collective sense, like the people of Gaza today.
00:06:28.040 The people of the Qur'an also become a means by which you can distinguish truth and falsehood,
00:06:32.900 and people are sent into different directions.
00:06:35.440 That's not to say that some very sincere believers have not experienced deep pain
00:06:41.840 that they've had to come to terms with over the last year and a half,
00:06:44.420 and have found themselves in a place of hardship and deep sorrow,
00:06:50.100 to where there was a waswasa, there was a whisper from the shaytan inside of them.
00:06:54.420 I'm not talking about those people.
00:06:56.480 But what I'm talking about is the fact that because of Gaza,
00:07:00.280 you have people that have embraced Islam at a rate like we have never seen before,
00:07:05.780 and you have some people who still would find their way away from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:07:11.280 as a result of this.
00:07:12.180 One of the things, subhanAllah, that you mentioned, which is very important here,
00:07:17.460 the people of Gaza are not questioning their faith.
00:07:19.840 So who are you to question faith on their behalf?
00:07:22.320 The people that are the core subject of this, that are experiencing this,
00:07:26.500 are not questioning their faith.
00:07:28.040 In fact, they are having extreme connection to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
00:07:33.460 premonitions, dreams about the hereafter.
00:07:35.920 They are renewed in their faith, their resilience.
00:07:40.260 That doesn't mean they are not sad.
00:07:41.960 That doesn't mean they are not devastated at times.
00:07:44.580 Yes, they cry over their loved ones.
00:07:47.020 They cry over the circumstances that have befallen them.
00:07:51.320 But at no point are they questioning
00:07:53.080 that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is putting them through an unnecessary trial
00:07:57.860 with no reward at the end.
00:07:59.340 They understand that they are here for a purpose.
00:08:01.300 If you're born and raised in Gaza, you know from the very beginning
00:08:05.860 that you're here for a very reason
00:08:08.860 and that you occupy a very special purpose in this world.
00:08:13.200 And here's the thing, subhanAllah,
00:08:14.540 these people are not limited by what's called the open-air prison of Gaza
00:08:19.960 because they're already connected to a jannah
00:08:23.240 that is broader than the heavens and the earth.
00:08:25.540 They are not intimidated by their human oppressor
00:08:29.160 because they're already connected to the lord of the oppressor and the oppressed.
00:08:34.140 They already are connected to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:08:36.640 in all of his glory.
00:08:38.880 And so you can't restrict them.
00:08:40.520 And so when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says,
00:08:42.100 وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِ فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِ؎َةً ضَنْكَ
00:08:45.040 That whoever turns away from my remembrance will have a constricting life.
00:08:49.700 We can see that, that people have suffocation
00:08:52.200 despite their great circumstances.
00:08:55.820 Forget about people leaving Islam
00:08:57.580 because they can't come to terms with devastation
00:09:00.820 of the people of Gaza or the refugees of the world.
00:09:03.920 People that leave Islam because they didn't marry the person they wanted to marry
00:09:07.020 or they didn't get the job that they wanted
00:09:08.340 or they didn't get into medical school.
00:09:09.740 In their full delight, in their full comfort,
00:09:13.260 they still find a way away from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:09:15.740 It's a constricting lifestyle.
00:09:17.360 People that can't find happiness because they don't have purpose.
00:09:21.180 The opposite of that is true.
00:09:22.620 And this is a principle in our deen
00:09:23.900 that things are known by their opposites as well.
00:09:26.140 That the more you remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
00:09:28.380 the more shiraah there is, the more expanse there is.
00:09:31.920 And so these are people of Dhikr.
00:09:33.700 These are people of Qur'an
00:09:34.700 and they are connected to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:09:36.560 So they feel expanse even though they're in this tight circumstance.
00:09:39.240 And that's why you watch a person,
00:09:42.620 let's not just talk about the people and the genocide.
00:09:45.060 You watch the prisoners, or you know what,
00:09:46.900 let's not call them prisoners, a topic for another day.
00:09:49.640 You watch the hostages, the Palestinian hostages
00:09:52.240 that come out after having been in captivity for 30 years
00:09:55.920 and have missed the death of their parents,
00:09:58.700 the birth of their children.
00:10:00.340 And they still say, alhamdulillah, as soon as they come out
00:10:02.600 and they say, despite everything we've been subjected to,
00:10:04.680 they never forgot alhamdulillah.
00:10:06.340 They never forgot Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:10:07.940 So faith is not something that can be explained easily
00:10:13.460 to someone who's never touched it or been touched by it.
00:10:16.740 And so the people of Ghazza are a phenomenon
00:10:18.800 to a people that don't have faith
00:10:21.160 because they don't understand how these people still have purpose.
00:10:23.560 And on top of that, and this is what you mentioned about us,
00:10:28.340 faith is also something that we pray that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:10:31.840 consider us amongst His devout servants and believers
00:10:35.900 and grant us a high state of iman and certainty and yaqeen
00:10:38.580 so we can be like the people of Ghazza in this regard.
00:10:40.480 We have read about the stories of the Sahaba.
00:10:44.020 We've read about these stories and episodes from the Seerah.
00:10:47.780 We've read about the people of the Qur'an.
00:10:50.160 But to see it exemplified so clearly in the people of Ghazza
00:10:54.460 has made the story of Hamza radiallahu anhu so much more real.
00:10:58.400 It has made the story of Mus'ab radiallahu anhu so real.
00:11:00.920 Sumayya radiallahu anhu.
00:11:01.800 How many Sumayyas are there?
00:11:03.380 How many Hamzas are there?
00:11:04.700 How many Mus'abs are there?
00:11:06.280 Wa ala dahduh, may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless him.
00:11:08.460 This man who lost every single person,
00:11:10.880 or not every single person, but I mean subhanAllah,
00:11:13.560 his wife, his children, his mother.
00:11:17.400 I mean he's lost so much in this genocide.
00:11:19.460 You go and you sit with this man.
00:11:21.280 And he says, alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen.
00:11:23.140 He says, my family went to Jannah and I went to Doha.
00:11:27.800 That's how he explains the way that subhanAllah that this happens.
00:11:31.800 They went one place and I went another place.
00:11:34.580 And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has destined victory for the people of Ghazza
00:11:37.580 and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has destined paradise for all of us.
00:11:41.080 So that's what this is all about.
00:11:43.000 And the other side was not meant in any way to serve as a sedative,
00:11:48.160 as a means of making us complacent with the situation of Ghazza
00:11:50.980 and saying, oh, it's okay, Allah has taken care of them in the hereafter.
00:11:53.840 But it's so that we could renew our spirit.
00:11:58.040 And this is something subhanahu wa ta'ala I talked about in the series,
00:12:00.120 that when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam talked about the shuhada of Uhud,
00:12:04.900 when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala raised them to him
00:12:08.560 and gave them what he gave them after their shahadah,
00:12:11.820 they asked to come back and speak to their families
00:12:15.000 or to send a message to their families.
00:12:17.120 Not that don't cry, I'm okay.
00:12:19.400 But they did not want the believers to lose heart.
00:12:22.100 They wanted them to keep at it, to say, we're okay, so keep at it.
00:12:25.360 We're okay, so keep at it.
00:12:27.040 You have to keep at this.
00:12:28.440 That you're on a continuum.
00:12:30.120 That we didn't die for nothing.
00:12:32.060 That we didn't live for nothing.
00:12:33.340 That we had a purpose of living.
00:12:35.060 And our death has a purpose.
00:12:36.300 And you have to keep it going.
00:12:37.640 You have to live with purpose and die with purpose as well.
00:12:40.680 And so the other side,
00:12:42.000 I started writing this series actually in 2023.
00:12:47.440 I filmed it October 2024.
00:12:50.780 And you can just go back.
00:12:52.320 Subhanallah, October 2024 was a very difficult month.
00:12:55.200 And October 2023, obviously, everything in between.
00:12:59.040 So I literally was filming this a year of genocide.
00:13:02.880 With the year of genocide.
00:13:04.020 And I was writing it from the genocide onwards.
00:13:06.080 And the idea was,
00:13:08.680 what makes the barzakh so profound,
00:13:10.920 is that we think about divine justice as a future concept.
00:13:14.420 Like maybe it will happen in the future.
00:13:16.600 But divine justice is already happening.
00:13:19.160 Because the people that have been martyred
00:13:21.480 are already receiving their reward from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:13:23.940 And every tyrant that goes into that realm
00:13:26.920 is already receiving their punishment.
00:13:29.300 So it's not even about the future.
00:13:31.480 It's about the fact that this exists right now.
00:13:33.360 And then lastly,
00:13:35.240 we have to also think about the fact
00:13:36.840 that we too will go to that place.
00:13:38.860 And the barzakh is right in front of us.
00:13:41.500 The grave is right there.
00:13:43.300 It is.
00:13:43.720 And the thing that the Prophet ï·º said,
00:13:45.200 you know,
00:13:45.960 he pointed out a boy who died.
00:13:48.180 And he said his day of judgment has started.
00:13:50.340 Yes.
00:13:50.640 Because the moment you die,
00:13:52.080 we see it as far away, etc.
00:13:55.340 There's two things we haven't been told.
00:13:57.040 It's our death and the day of judgment.
00:13:58.780 Because if we know these things,
00:14:00.460 we'll be behaving very differently.
00:14:02.260 Absolutely.
00:14:02.440 Because that's the reason why Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:14:03.400 has told us when we're going to die
00:14:05.160 and when Yom al-Qiyamah is.
00:14:06.440 And because we need to live
00:14:07.440 like it could happen tomorrow.
00:14:08.760 Absolutely.
00:14:09.000 You know,
00:14:09.140 we should live like we're going to die tomorrow.
00:14:10.680 You know,
00:14:10.880 different people take that in a different way.
00:14:12.180 YOLO.
00:14:13.160 We take that as well.
00:14:14.080 Yes,
00:14:14.260 the only lived ones.
00:14:14.940 Meaning I have to do the best of my ability
00:14:16.780 to do as much righteous deeds
00:14:18.480 and talk about the situation in Gaza
00:14:19.620 that it's the oppressed.
00:14:20.980 So yeah,
00:14:21.480 it's subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:14:22.220 It's very,
00:14:22.700 very profound.
00:14:23.200 And I think every day in Ramadan,
00:14:24.840 it's coming out.
00:14:25.700 Yeah,
00:14:26.000 insha'Allah.
00:14:26.440 So it's going to be like
00:14:32.440 that's outside of the barzakh
00:14:33.780 and trying to understand
00:14:35.060 through visiting the grave,
00:14:37.300 through dreams,
00:14:38.100 through seeing genocide,
00:14:39.400 through trying to reckon with the barzakh.
00:14:41.660 And then actually the last 20 days
00:14:43.760 are you yourself going into the barzakh.
00:14:46.400 And so when you're experiencing
00:14:48.260 the punishment of the grave
00:14:49.240 or the reward of the grave,
00:14:50.340 when you're experiencing
00:14:50.980 meeting people once again
00:14:52.120 and stuff like that.
00:14:53.020 So usually when I do a Ramadan series,
00:14:55.100 I start with like the,
00:14:56.780 you know,
00:14:57.620 the fast pace
00:14:58.380 and then I go into
00:14:59.180 sort of calming into the subject.
00:15:01.000 This is actually the opposite.
00:15:01.980 So it's going to start with
00:15:03.500 more of like,
00:15:04.660 just think of a person
00:15:05.460 that's in a box of dunya
00:15:06.640 trying to feel
00:15:08.000 what's outside of it.
00:15:09.020 And that's sort of the way
00:15:10.600 that the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:15:11.360 described this dunya
00:15:12.400 or the insan.
00:15:13.960 He drew this rectangular shape
00:15:15.740 Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:15:16.860 and he said,
00:15:18.280 this is man.
00:15:19.000 And then he drew a line through it.
00:15:21.020 And he said that
00:15:23.140 this is his ajal.
00:15:24.860 This is his,
00:15:26.160 so this is his lifespan
00:15:27.640 and these are his hopes
00:15:29.740 in this world.
00:15:30.300 And so he showed
00:15:32.220 Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:15:32.980 that the hopes of the world
00:15:34.360 extend outside of
00:15:35.880 the actual lifespan
00:15:37.440 that you have.
00:15:38.420 And then he drew little lines
00:15:39.900 Alayhi Sallatu Wasallam
00:15:41.060 around that line
00:15:42.660 to show that
00:15:43.360 these are the tests
00:15:44.140 that you will face.
00:15:45.680 And so you're literally
00:15:46.760 in a box of dunya.
00:15:48.360 And until you can
00:15:49.480 see outside of it
00:15:50.920 or feel outside of it,
00:15:52.600 then you're going to feel
00:15:54.580 exactly as it's drawn,
00:15:56.260 which is like
00:15:56.760 you're boxed in
00:15:57.500 and suffocating.
00:15:58.200 And so it'll be
00:16:00.300 something that
00:16:01.020 hopefully,
00:16:02.480 you know,
00:16:02.760 shadow ban will
00:16:03.400 probably try to attempt
00:16:05.340 because it has
00:16:05.780 a lot of ghazza in it.
00:16:06.900 But hopefully
00:16:07.480 it'll allow people
00:16:08.500 inshallah,
00:16:09.580 a way for people
00:16:10.740 to grow
00:16:11.500 and connect.
00:16:12.880 Inshallah,
00:16:13.820 Barakouf,
00:16:14.240 you guys can watch
00:16:16.520 that on Yaqeen Institute
00:16:17.300 channel,
00:16:17.700 inshallah,
00:16:17.940 Barakouf,
00:16:18.100 sisters,
00:16:18.780 make the most of it.
00:16:20.140 I am inshallah
00:16:21.100 planning on doing that
00:16:22.120 as well,
00:16:22.420 inshallah.
00:16:23.040 Until next time,
00:16:23.540 As-salamu alaykum
00:16:24.080 wa rahmatou'la.
00:16:24.960 Assalamu alaykum.
00:16:25.540 We'll have the cuts.
