Ali Dawah - HIJABI WOMAN OWNS FEMINIST - EPIC REPLY

00:00:00.000 It's claimed that women need feminism because there are women that suffer injustice. 1.00

00:00:21.220 But this ignores that nearly all human beings suffer injustice at some point in their lives

00:00:25.600 at the hands of either men or women.

00:00:27.300 And justice for only one group of society to the exclusion of another is like a bird without one wing.

00:00:33.240 It just doesn't fly.

00:00:35.280 Men have a fundamental need for justice just the same as women do.

00:00:39.120 And whilst the very word feminism discriminates, the word justice doesn't. 1.00

00:00:43.560 Justice means giving people what they deserve or merit.

00:00:46.440 But as we'll see, feminism and justice are not synonymous. 0.99

00:00:50.420 Feminism is a highly ambiguous term, straightjacketing instead of liberating. 1.00

00:00:54.000 It is the call for gender privilege, masquerading as equality.

00:00:58.040 In essence, feminism denies the human reality. 0.89

00:01:00.760 It is unclear and not the cause for justice.

00:01:04.180 To begin, feminists advocate that women have traditionally been dehumanised in a male-dominated society, 1.00

00:01:10.260 which they call the patriarchy, and that it has always been better to be a man.

00:01:14.460 But this one-sided claim snubs the privileges that women have often enjoyed simply for being women.

00:01:19.620 The dynamics of society at the most basic level show that it has actually always been better to be a woman. 1.00

00:01:26.060 Biologically, every woman counts in reproduction and perpetuating life itself, 1.00

00:01:30.400 giving each woman an intrinsic worth, regardless of what she does.

00:01:34.380 It only takes one man, however, for many women to have children. 1.00

00:01:37.620 So historically, this gave rise to the idea, amongst human societies,

00:01:41.260 that men are largely disposable, whilst every woman is indispensable.

00:01:44.880 This is why, instinctively, we prioritise safety and comfort for women rather than men.

00:01:50.900 Why women are rescued first in any emergency or disaster, and get the first seat in lifeboats. 0.96

00:01:55.980 Why men tend to work longer hours, risking life and limb in the more dirty and dangerous jobs, 1.00

00:02:00.940 like being coal miners, oil drillers, foot soldiers, construction workers, rubbish collectors,

00:02:05.560 and the male relative acting as the unpaid bodyguard in the home.

00:02:09.280 To quote one activist,

00:02:10.400 When it comes to domestic violence, the Guardian reported that men are the victims more than 40% of the time,

00:02:38.140 excluding unreported cases, and men are half as likely to tell anyone about it in the first place.

00:02:44.640 When it comes to the provision of refuges, there are 7,500 for females in England and Wales,

00:02:50.460 but only 60 for men.

00:02:52.380 As for male rape victims, within UK prisons, there's a collective state of denial.

00:02:56.560 It's just not taken seriously.

00:02:58.620 Men are held to a higher standard of self-defence,

00:03:01.300 and so they often suffer in silence, reluctant to be re-victimised

00:03:04.580 by an unsympathetic legal system or disbelieving treatment from professionals.

00:03:09.980 Yet feminists generally remain egregiously quiet about male suffering as a result of social roles. 0.98

00:03:15.940 Whilst feminists seek liberation from the shackles of the traditional female role, 0.99

00:03:19.740 the man is still expected to continue his traditional disposable role.

00:03:23.660 This one-sided narrative of feminism is not the way forward. 0.96

00:03:26.980 For feminists, equality is merely a facade to favour women, often at the expense of others. 1.00

00:03:33.240 Like when former Equality Minister Harriet Harman, a feminist, 1.00

00:03:36.760 publicly requested employers to discriminate against white men and hire women instead

00:03:41.080 if both candidates were equally qualified.

00:03:44.020 Or when former Equality Minister Patricia Hewitt, also a feminist, 1.00

00:03:47.900 was found guilty of breaching the Sex Discrimination Act

00:03:50.120 by overlooking a strong male applicant for a job in favour of a weaker female applicant.

00:03:54.960 So feminists claim to seek equality and call for a 40% minimum female quota on management boards, 1.00

00:04:01.520 but conspicuously do not call for a 40% minimum quota for soldiers, prison guards, lumberjacks,

00:04:06.200 miners, bodyguards or construction workers.

00:04:08.520 Why is that?

00:04:09.580 Why not campaign for an end to the women and children first quality and lifeboats 1.00

00:04:13.160 and have it first come, first served?

00:04:15.420 Why not have women and men compete side by side in the Olympics, as equals? 1.00

00:04:20.140 Of course, the reason feminists won't advocate this is because 1.00

00:04:23.240 it's not really about equality, but the means to achieve gender privilege.

00:04:27.900 Another shocking example is the feminist campaign for closing women's prisons. 1.00

00:04:32.140 The Fawcett Society, the UK's leading feminist campaign for closing the inequality gap between

00:04:36.900 women and men, campaigned that female prisons did not suit women's needs. 0.99

00:04:41.640 So, as recommended in a report by Baroness Causton, they should be closed

00:04:45.580 and replaced with what is in effect women's social clubs where female offenders get to 1.00

00:04:49.540 spend time with each other, organising their own shopping, budgets and cooking,

00:04:53.340 and then go home to their children at the end of each day.

00:04:56.380 The Causton report also stated that women and men are different. 0.98

00:04:59.920 Equal treatment of women and men does not result in equal outcomes.

00:05:03.280 Going on to claim that women are governed by hormones in a monthly cycle which affects 1.00

00:05:07.680 their moods and emotions.

00:05:09.120 These biological factors have a direct bearing on the way in which women experience stressful 0.84

00:05:13.320 events during their lives.

00:05:15.280 If a man were to say that about treating women differently in the workplace, he'd be called

00:05:19.100 a misogynist.

00:05:20.580 Strangely though, feminists are completely happy for women to say that women are governed by 1.00

00:05:24.720 hormones and cite biological factors when it comes to obtaining privileges. 0.99

00:05:29.180 So, for feminists, male criminals are to be punished to the full extent of the law, 1.00

00:05:33.160 whilst female criminals should get comfort and help. 1.00

00:05:35.920 Why is male suffering and injustice less important than female suffering and injustice? 0.98

00:05:41.120 Surely, justice doesn't discriminate.

00:05:43.320 But as we can see, feminism does. 1.00

00:05:45.380 Feminists are not asking for equal treatment, but special treatment, gender privilege. 1.00

00:05:49.860 Women do not need gender privilege, and therefore they do not need feminism. 1.00

00:05:53.600 In reality, they, along with men, need justice, a comprehensive justice for all.

00:06:00.100 Secondly, women need clear solutions. 1.00

00:06:02.840 But feminism is unclear and evasive. 0.99

00:06:05.600 Feminism comes in many different factions, conservative, liberal, socialist, post-modern, eco-feminism 1.00

00:06:10.620 and so on.

00:06:11.580 With no shared value system or moral guidance, feminists don't agree on anything but the 1.00

00:06:16.580 name, and will happily contradict themselves if need be.

00:06:20.000 For example, feminists have no clear position on the sexual objectification of women. 1.00

00:06:24.860 Some feminists advocate androgynising the female appearance, and others campaign for safer 1.00

00:06:29.380 cosmetic surgery without challenging why women actually feel the need to have it in the first 1.00

00:06:33.740 place.

00:06:34.100 Because feminism cannot deal with complexities, it promotes the idea of individualism instead. 1.00

00:06:40.680 The idea that women should be empowered through redefining their own expectations.

00:06:45.080 And feminists are always on hand to dictate that women should make men the benchmark of 1.00

00:06:49.180 these expectations.

00:06:50.760 Instead of freeing women from male expectations, feminists expect free women to be male. 1.00

00:06:55.100 Finally, I argue that feminism denies human reality. 0.99

00:07:00.860 It straight jackets women, and doesn't understand or accommodate the natural proclivities of the 1.00

00:07:05.020 genders.

00:07:06.160 Virtually all species, from bees to primates, have different gender roles, with different

00:07:10.100 biological abilities across the sexes.

00:07:12.660 Yet feminists insist that any gender difference between humans is invented, and there is nothing 1.00

00:07:17.480 biological about men or women that should inform their social roles.

00:07:20.360 Scientific studies have clearly demonstrated, however, the role of testosterone in building

00:07:25.220 muscle, increasing competitiveness, confidence and risk-taking, making men better suited to

00:07:30.300 the more hazardous and competitive roles of society.

00:07:33.280 Because of testosterone, men naturally tend to be faster, bigger, possess more stamina and

00:07:37.800 are physically stronger.

00:07:39.260 So teaching a girl that she can naturally compete equally with men in everything is misleading. 0.99

00:07:45.380 One absurd example of this is when feminists attempting to achieve equal outcomes between the 1.00

00:07:50.260 sexes, had the strenuous physical tests for UK firefighters lowered, and the standards

00:07:54.640 relaxed in order to accommodate more female firefighters. 1.00

00:07:57.980 So the standards you can now expect from professionals in burning buildings and boardrooms, as I mentioned

00:08:02.540 earlier, whether male or female, is much lower than before because of feminists. 1.00

00:08:07.620 It seems feminists are implicitly agreeing with Plato when he said that women should be treated 0.70

00:08:12.260 equally to men, except that not so much should be expected of them.

00:08:15.640 Leading feminists in their absurd quest for equal outcomes between the sexes to campaign for 1.00

00:08:20.760 mediocrity in the workplace rather than meritocracy.

00:08:24.640 Feminists argue that the division of labour in traditional families constrains women's opportunities, 1.00

00:08:29.860 that women are discriminated against in getting jobs and wages, that there exists a wage gap

00:08:33.980 between the genders.

00:08:34.820 However, these arguments collapse upon further scrutiny, because if employers could get away

00:08:39.940 to paying a woman less for the exact same tasks that they could pay a man, why wouldn't 0.99

00:08:44.300 they just hire women? 1.00

00:08:46.360 Furthermore, statistics cited by feminists as evidence of the wage gap tend to lump full-time 1.00

00:08:51.200 hours in with overtime hours, of which women tend to do far less than men.

00:08:55.920 They also average earnings from disparate jobs, like primary school teachers with investment

00:08:59.660 bankers, sales engineers with chemical engineers, HR executives with finance executives, so

00:09:05.060 they don't compare life-for-life jobs at all.

00:09:08.080 Nor are women discouraged from entering higher-paying fields.

00:09:11.300 They outperform men at university, but are more likely to choose languages, arts and social

00:09:15.160 sciences, which pay less, whilst men are more likely to choose engineering, technology,

00:09:19.440 math and sciences, which pay more.

00:09:21.540 The division of labour once children are born also means mothers tend to intensify their 0.99

00:09:25.440 home commitments, and fathers tend to heavily intensify their work commitments.

00:09:29.660 Men seem to make this trade-off more than women, perhaps because men feel more obliged to 0.51

00:09:33.840 earn than women do. 1.00

00:09:35.420 The reality is that the statistics do not reflect discrimination, but choices.

00:09:39.540 If there is a glass ceiling, it seems that women are the main architects of it, because 1.00

00:09:42.800 they get to trade off higher-paying jobs for more flexible hours to combine work and family

00:09:47.840 life, which means they don't only get the benefit of the father's wage, but also a better

00:09:51.640 work-life balance for herself.

00:09:53.440 Isn't that more important than arbitrarily chasing the highest-paying jobs?

00:09:56.520 Feminists don't want to be thought of as sexual objects, but seem happy to be valued according 1.00

00:10:00.960 to their economic worth.

00:10:02.720 Both assessments are materialistic, and neither should dictate the worth of a man or a woman.

00:10:07.580 The wage gap is telling, in that feminists cannot deny the impact of motherhood on the 1.00

00:10:11.560 woman's life choices. 1.00

00:10:12.940 That men and women cannot live lives completely autonomous from one another.

00:10:16.880 That men and women actually need each other to make a whole. 0.97

00:10:19.540 So that's the wage gap.

00:10:21.580 But if feminists are so keen on equality, what about their silence on the cancer research 1.00

00:10:25.920 gap, the education gap, the violent crime gap, the death on the job gap, the suicide

00:10:29.600 gap, the life expectancy gap, all of which discriminate against men?

00:10:34.260 In idolising the male and trying to create an androgynous sexuality where men and women 0.77

00:10:38.320 are virtually identical, except for their anatomy, feminists have perpetuated a misogynistic 1.00

00:10:43.520 self-loathing for the traditional female role.

00:10:46.300 Motherhood and female tenderness is now viewed as a weakness. 0.98

00:10:48.760 The strength of men, which can be used to lead wars, just as it can be used to be fierce

00:10:53.520 protectors, is often kept in check by the compassion and temperance of women. 0.74

00:10:57.920 But when women abandon these qualities and want the same aggression that they perceive 1.00

00:11:01.400 in men, what will be left? 0.95

00:11:03.860 When feminists are insisting on taking over the male role, is it any surprise that men 0.81

00:11:07.960 are shirking their responsibilities, which they once did with pride, diligence and selfless

00:11:12.160 duty?

00:11:13.200 If feminists want to have it all, they will most likely end up having to do it all, often 1.00

00:11:16.980 at the expense of their own well-being, and most importantly, at the expense of our children.

00:11:20.940 In Islam, men and women and their actions are equal in the eyes of God.

00:11:24.400 God says in the Quran,

00:11:26.020 Islam primarily addresses men and women the same, because men and women by and large share

00:11:37.160 the same human characteristics, and it addresses them separately in relation to the few areas

00:11:41.420 where they differ. The Islamic system isn't based on selfish individualism, but a God-centred

00:11:46.740 worldview promoting mutual reciprocity. In Islam, women do not serve men, and men do not serve 0.97

00:11:52.320 women. Rather, we serve God by helping each other and giving to each other based on human

00:11:57.060 needs, with the understanding that humans are not all the same. Islam guards the female from 1.00

00:12:02.980 the moment she enters the world by rebuking and prohibiting the practice of female infanticide

00:12:07.500 as one of the greatest crimes to be committed. Such religion can only go on to challenge the 1.00

00:12:12.820 ill-treatment of women and secure her well-being at every stage of her life. Through property 0.87

00:12:17.340 rights, marriage contracts, political participation, inheritance laws and dress code, it advocates

00:12:23.180 complementarity with men rather than competition. Marriage is the bedrock of family life in Islam

00:12:28.940 and the fundamental unit of Islamic society, giving us rights and duties over one another.

00:12:34.100 As a wife, she has the right to be provided for, including her own living space, and is

00:12:39.400 guaranteed financial safeguards should her marriage not work out. Yet Islam does not straitjacket 0.92

00:12:45.560 women. It allows women to enter the workplace, but not out of the necessity of the struggle 1.00

00:12:49.640 to support herself, but out of choice, to be pursued at her leisure. In Islam, nobody has 1.00

00:12:55.260 a right over her earnings. However, Islam mandates that a man's earnings must be used to provide

00:13:00.460 for the women of the household, irrespective of whether they work or not. Furthermore,

00:13:05.180 as a mother, the woman is given preference for respect from the children over the father.

00:13:11.500 Such is the esteemed role that she plays at the heart of the soul and the family, and by

00:13:16.040 extension, society. So Islam provides a clear, natural and just solution to ensuring justice

00:13:21.960 for all humans, and has no need for feminism's vain attempts to reinvent the wheel that Islam 1.00

00:13:27.120 set in motion over 1400 years ago. In Islam, power is not a virtue. It is a burden and a 1.00

00:13:32.920 responsibility. Instead of seeking to empower ourselves, we should seek to empower justice.

00:13:38.520 In Islam, women are liberated from the servitude of men, and liberated from the expectations 0.62

00:13:42.980 of other women. It is virtue which all human beings, regardless of gender, career, or social

00:13:48.540 role, can equally strive for. In the end, true self-worth and contentment doesn't come through

00:13:54.200 submission to any aspect of creation, material, men, women, none of it. It only comes from

00:13:59.940 submission to the creator himself and all that he commands. Thank you.
