Ali Dawah - HIJABIS & ALI REACT TO OPPRESSED GIRLS - REACTION VIDEO

00:00:00.000 why have i got three sisters here okay that's a question if god says it then i definitely think

00:00:05.820 that is better it's not what the other said it's that you don't like it because it touched a nerve

00:00:10.980 with you and that's why you're responding in that way like for example without my hijab i go to like

00:00:15.900 a solid like eight out of ten appearance like attraction wise and with the hijab i'm like you

00:00:20.380 know a two you know if i'm choosing to dress the way i dress and they they take these pictures with

00:00:25.560 the hijab before and then their picture now of their freedom all of their pictures are all in

00:00:30.780 revealing clothing and they deem this to be i now free and i've made this truth and that's why we

00:00:36.880 think subconsciously that it's my choice but even psychologists and people around that have studied

00:00:41.780 have shown how much we are influenced

00:00:44.260 assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh brothers and sisters and dear friends hope you guys are well

00:00:50.640 inshallah welcome to this unique reaction video yes why have i got three sisters here okay that's

00:00:56.480 a question that everybody will be asking well the reason why i've got three sisters is because i've

00:01:01.900 done a lot of videos when it comes to the issue of hijab not i wouldn't say hijab per se but it's

00:01:05.920 been like maybe hijab with youtubers maybe talking about the hijab men's hijab etc and a lot of people

00:01:10.960 in the comment section say you know what why don't you it's a sister's topic why don't you you

00:01:15.260 shouldn't talk about it which i don't believe in that concept but you know but they say it's important

00:01:19.660 to have the sisters say on it and i thought it's important it's a valid point but i'm not to blame

00:01:23.700 because do we have reliable influences out there there might be some i don't know so i was thinking

00:01:30.900 look you know what there's there was a video that was sent to me from a youtube called they're called

00:01:35.340 jubilee something and there's a three sisters well there's six sisters six muslims free hijabi free 0.84

00:01:41.040 non-hijabi and some people were like can you react to that and i thought yeah i can and i was recently

00:01:45.880 having a bit of a heated discussion with certain ex-muslim females and i noticed something in them

00:01:53.400 which we're going to come to but this is the reason why we have the three sisters because i want to hear

00:01:57.220 it from the sisters i want to speak to our dear sister sister farzana may allah bless her sister

00:02:01.500 naima and sister faima may allah bless you guys for joining us can you just briefly before we start just

00:02:05.540 tell us a bit about yourselves and what you do quickly and then we'll get into the reaction we do

00:02:09.480 my name's uh kazana and um i work with sisters mashallah as a marriage and healing coach so i just

00:02:16.440 help them navigate through their relationship and if they're having any difficulties and just coach

00:02:22.440 them on that and sisters who have been through a divorce and just help them to heal through that

00:02:27.960 process assalamualaikum thank you so much for having me today i'm pehima muhammad i'm also a qualified

00:02:34.660 life coach and nlp practitioner helping people through their challenges whether it's in their

00:02:40.160 relationships or in their careers and i also raise current issues on several different tv channels

00:02:46.700 as a presenter and a producer when i stop it we elaborate on it yeah

00:02:50.660 i'm shocked i'm sitting here when we read the quran we get our own interpretations of it

00:03:06.320 but it does say that in there to only show your hands face and feet if god says it then i definitely

00:03:14.580 think that is better but i don't think the behavior of acting like you're better than someone

00:03:20.640 that i don't see that's right she said what allah commands in the quran is she acknowledges that that

00:03:27.020 is good for her but she doesn't like the fact that other people wear the hijab looking down at others

00:03:32.580 don't so we can all agree on that right but this doesn't give a right to anybody to look down at

00:03:36.860 someone else we agree or does anybody want to elaborate um of course i agree but i think yes

00:03:41.680 we need to elaborate as to what she really means and i think what she really means is that

00:03:46.000 there's so-called uh religious police out there and there has to be akhlaq even when you are 0.99

00:03:52.040 delivering a message it has to be a message where it's actually inviting and welcoming and it has to

00:03:57.720 be something where it can actually influence in a good way instead of turning people uh further away

00:04:03.240 that's my understanding um i wonder how much of this type of conversation is people projecting

00:04:11.460 their own insecurities onto others and i'm not saying that there are not those of us or people

00:04:19.040 out there who judge and who are mean about things and harsh and you know just out of bounds and not

00:04:25.580 in keeping with the akhlaq of a muslim but i think that there is also a projection that happens where

00:04:32.760 people feel judged they feel like someone is being harsh they are expecting a bad response and so when

00:04:39.620 they get a response that's how they interpret it and i think that's something that we all need to

00:04:44.120 be careful of as well because the problem with kind of saying oh i you know i don't like the way

00:04:51.000 they those who are doing the thing the way they behave with me it makes me not want to do the thing

00:04:55.560 you're basically giving power to people who don't know you they they don't know you they don't know

00:05:01.860 your life they don't know anything but you're giving them this power to affect how you practice

00:05:06.580 your deen and i feel like that's not something we should encourage because every one of us is on

00:05:12.340 our own journey like we're all here we're going to go back to allah returning directly to answer to him

00:05:19.140 and other people's behavior with us is not an excuse so i'm not saying this to be harsh and i'm not

00:05:25.440 saying this to be religious police or anything but every one of us needs to also be cognizant of the

00:05:31.960 fact that sometimes it's not what the sister said it's not what the other said it's that you don't

00:05:37.020 like it because it touched a nerve with you it hit a raw nerve it made you insecure it reminded you

00:05:43.340 that you're maybe not where you know you could be and that's why you're responding in that way

00:05:47.760 you know what that's interesting because as we carry on the video this is the contact with something

00:05:51.080 interesting i actually have so much to say about this go for it start okay i think a lot of people

00:05:56.340 think that it's like a point system oh yes hijab ding you know like next level and i don't think 0.99

00:06:01.120 god is like this person wears the hijab you're good to go versus this person doesn't so and you're out 1.00

00:06:07.060 i think everything else that you do weighs in i do know many hijabis that like do not follow anything 1.00

00:06:16.240 else and i know a lot of non-hijabis that are the most religious you know women that i've ever met

00:06:22.880 i have a friend on like instagram who dresses however she wants to dress and she could rock it 0.76

00:06:28.380 she has a body for it but she goes to every friday prayer and i'm like she's a better person

00:06:33.020 so now this is very this is where it gets a little bit interesting yeah but this is not one of the

00:06:37.840 reasons why i wanted to do this video yeah but let's just address it sister fazana do you think

00:06:42.360 she has a point in the context where she's saying hold on a second yeah and i've seen this in my life

00:06:46.620 for example i can remember when i was in knightsbridge and it was time for maghrib

00:06:50.020 and usually i do uber so it's like part-time and sometimes i have to stop and pray so i have

00:06:54.160 a prayer i have to go outside and pray i was and this is this was very interesting to me because

00:06:58.140 i don't know how the sister he's a non-hijabi noticed me looking for the kibla and she came 1.00

00:07:04.140 to me and said i live local the kibla is that way and she was a non-hijabi like if any brother we

00:07:08.960 have this concept if any brother saw on the road she would be like they would never think

00:07:12.880 she prays salah never so where do you think do you think the sister's right in the context 0.99

00:07:17.980 where she's saying that you know and and there needs to be a thin line because then that comes

00:07:23.260 where sister naima said where people justify okay i don't wear the hijab but i pray no it's not an

00:07:28.440 excuse but sister fazana what would you say to what you just heard i think we have to be aware of the

00:07:33.480 fact that as muslims we shouldn't be judging anyone anyway and some people do do that it seems to be

00:07:40.140 you know it doesn't like sister naima mentioned you know self-development is a big thing and

00:07:46.340 those who are not there and they don't understand themselves of what's coming

00:07:51.000 from them internally that they feel that other people are reflecting you know judgment on them

00:07:56.960 so i think um we have to understand that yeah okay this sister is saying that um there's sisters

00:08:03.800 that are praying five times a day and they don't wear a hijab and they're better muslims than 1.00

00:08:08.060 sisters uh wearing a hijab but then um personally i'm a sister who does wear a hijab and i don't look

00:08:15.640 at sisters in that way if there's a sister without wearing a hijab i will never ever think that i'm

00:08:22.300 better than her so a lot of the times i feel that sisters they do know what what the right thing is

00:08:29.620 like sister naima mentioned but they might have a fear of actually going there themselves the fear of

00:08:36.060 how are people gonna react to me wearing the hijab um in a similar way to sisters who might want to 0.98

00:08:42.440 remove the hijab they might be thinking how someone gonna react to me removing the hijab

00:08:47.200 yeah no i just again it's that thing of you know i know sisters who wear hijab who do haram things and 0.90

00:08:54.080 i know sisters who don't wear hijab who are mashaAllah amazing muslims and of course we're complex human

00:09:00.240 beings you know i think even as muslims we like to think of ourselves as quite black and white quite

00:09:05.620 cut and dried but to be honest brother ali especially in this generation these the millennials

00:09:11.220 and the gen z's it's not black and white anymore you know we know you know people can be on it

00:09:17.620 in certain areas and be falling short severely in other areas and you can't really tell so

00:09:24.140 in this day and age my advice really to every sister every brother is take care of your own affairs

00:09:31.640 you know if you're doing all you can do and you know when you're making excuses you know when you're

00:09:38.740 being lazy you know when you're just trying to get something from somewhere you know enough snows you

00:09:44.660 know what i'm saying so having conversations where we're saying you know i know people who do this i

00:09:50.500 know people who do that okay but what about you focus on what what are you doing and are you really

00:09:56.580 pushing yourself to do the very best you can that's the most important thing exactly okay i'm going to

00:10:02.680 carry on the video but this is very important because a lot of people justify to their self

00:10:05.420 like they'll say okay for example i'd like you said before um i don't wear the hijab but i pray and that

00:10:09.460 is true you'll have a lot of black sisters in hijab you miss their salah and that's that's a major sin 1.00

00:10:13.820 and that is a major sin as well the hijab is important as well and then you have others who do not

00:10:18.420 wear the hijab but they do not miss their salah but the point is this why don't we instead of 0.99

00:10:22.720 comparing but she does that he does that or the same with the brothers by the way yeah or he has

00:10:25.980 a beard or he doesn't play salah etc how about we wear let's see for the sister wear the hijab and

00:10:32.620 pray for brothers have the beard and pray you know why does it have to be no but she does that i don't

00:10:36.660 so it's very important for us to not take blame let's be the better person you know what you don't

00:10:41.200 wear hijab you pray i don't wear hijab let me wear hijab and try to pray and same with the brothers of

00:10:44.800 course um and i think i'll resolve it let's watch this video i think it's just the last bit and then

00:10:49.220 we're going to get to the real crux of this video to your point like you're if we're talking let's

00:10:53.240 talk about hijab for example you don't do that do you yeah i'm sinning right now i'm i know that if

00:10:58.720 you have to say well i'm more rebellious you know you're doing something wrong and that's shaitan

00:11:03.040 trying to get you to normalize it a lot of sins that we're doing we're being normalized no that that's

00:11:08.420 definitely true a dude should not be checking me out like i think the hijab like prevents that like 1.00

00:11:12.660 for example without my hijab i go to like a solid like eight out of ten appearance like attraction

00:11:17.040 life and with the hijab i'm like you know a two and i think it does a really good job like when

00:11:21.980 it makes me uglier i feel like good job hijab you know if i'm choosing to dress the way i dress and 0.89

00:11:27.180 that technically like does not hurt anyone else you know it's just my personal choice i don't think

00:11:33.660 you're going to hell i think it's such a personal relationship between me and you know god allah you 0.99

00:11:37.940 know that kind of thing it frustrates me when people get involved because i'm like it's none of your 0.99

00:11:41.900 business right let me do me you know i wouldn't first pay attention for example to the very

00:11:46.900 sister that we talked about within without the hijab this is what i admire and respect where

00:11:50.680 she goes i'm sinning now you put your hands up to that and say you know what because the problem

00:11:54.300 that we have today is people justify no i am but you know look at least you're saying i'm sinning and

00:11:59.360 i'm working on it yeah so that's good but there's one thing and you guys can elaborate on that there's

00:12:04.100 one thing that sister says um the sister's not wearing the hijab yeah she says i choose to dress up

00:12:09.940 like this now this is the reason i'm doing this whole video yeah and i'm going to be talking a bit

00:12:15.220 about this book and reference something if anybody if any sister's watching this you need to read this

00:12:18.820 book yeah when she says i choose to dress up like this because you see there's i was having a little

00:12:24.560 discussion with some ex-muslim females and they they take these pictures with a hijab before and then 0.99

00:12:29.580 their picture now of their freedom i would if it was just like you know just dressing up let's suppose

00:12:34.880 just like a jumper nothing revealing but all of their pictures are all in revealing clothing and they

00:12:40.160 deem this to be i now i'm free and i've made this choice now can we agree sister tell me if i'm wrong

00:12:47.120 here because i'm the reason i've got your sister on here is to rule me if needed come and say brother 1.00

00:12:50.580 no you're wrong but the sister says i choose to wear the hijab i believe that is not correct and the

00:12:55.600 same with the brother i can't come and say i choose to pray fajr no i have free will don't get it twisted

00:13:00.880 i'm not talking about that i have the free will but i pray fajr because allah tells me to not

00:13:05.860 i choose to in that sense i'm not talking about the free will i'm not talking about qadriya so when

00:13:10.020 a sister says i choose to wear the hijab or a brother says i choose to grow a beard no you do it

00:13:13.980 because allah tells you to do it am i wrong or correct um i guess with this it just shows there is

00:13:21.800 a lot of lack of understanding and education when it comes to us learning about the essence and true

00:13:27.820 meaning of islam when you submit and when you commit to your faith then your choices are there

00:13:36.440 but then you make your choices and your behaviors really does show as to where your commitment lies

00:13:42.820 and yes we are definitely influenced by society today as well and that's why we think subconsciously

00:13:49.120 that it's my choice but even psychologists and people around that have studied have shown

00:13:53.900 how much we are influenced and that's why if you understand your faith well enough you can maybe

00:14:00.260 you know get a little bit sidetracked but you will understand that it is a sidetrack but you need to get

00:14:04.560 back on lane so that's the thing i think we need to give more emphasis as to how we are educating

00:14:11.240 our youngsters in our home and in the arabic schools or islamic schools with regards to from a very

00:14:17.980 young age the essence behind the recitation of quran understanding the meaning understanding the 0.90

00:14:24.560 benefits understanding the protection and then you won't have these kind of questions because as you

00:14:29.220 get to a certain age there is an existential sort of um awareness as to why am i here what am i doing

00:14:35.200 what does it mean and if you're not getting the right role models and influences around you then these

00:14:40.220 are the kind of things that you'll be sort of saying and giving yourself that excuse for going and

00:14:45.540 varying off in a different direction then the faith and the submission that you need to actually

00:14:49.800 you know commit to that sister naima yeah no i think i totally agree with you sister sahima and like

00:14:58.580 i think what a lot of people a lot of us don't really realize is nowadays we are we all have these

00:15:05.960 kind of demons that we have to fight right firstly not it a modern society people seem to have forgotten

00:15:14.080 that the nafs is to be controlled not to be submitted to right so when we say you know i'm doing me 0.99

00:15:22.620 this is my truth this is what i am this is my authentic self this is who i really am i'm you know i'm showing

00:15:30.360 up as my true self i hear that word self in english it sounds very innocuous you know you see it

00:15:36.280 everywhere but self is nafs in arabic that's the nafs that's the ego right and we know from our dean

00:15:44.180 that the nafs the nafs needs to be humbled the nafs needs to be controlled because if you give 0.99

00:15:50.800 into your nafs it will take you down the road of desires and lead you astray so you've got nafs on

00:15:57.240 the one hand then you've got shaitan which nobody seems to realize is also like playing a part here

00:16:02.580 right and also a lot of young people do think they're making choices based on their own individual

00:16:08.560 process not realizing as you said behima you know the programming the advertising the whole societal

00:16:15.040 conditioning that is at work all the time that makes you think you're making a free choice when

00:16:20.720 you're actually not okay there's someone called roussel he's a philosopher he said man is born free

00:16:25.800 but in shackles everywhere so now when the sister was saying that because she was talking from a

00:16:31.580 you know a liberal point of view a philosophical point of view where she's saying basically um you

00:16:36.920 know i choose to or for example you know she's talking a bit about hellfire etc so the point is

00:16:41.860 this we when we talk about for example what that philosopher said man is born free but he's shackled

00:16:47.860 everywhere the point is this we are all bound to be enslaved to something we're bound to be we are

00:16:53.860 bound to be like me i came to islam and i found my true freedom by being an being a slave to the one 1.00

00:16:58.440 who created me because he deserves it rather than being a slave to a jumper that i used to wear that

00:17:02.300 i couldn't or go in certain places or driving certain things or going to the gym and i believe

00:17:06.800 i was like wow these are all my masters because i'm trying to make all of them happy so the thing is

00:17:10.600 this so we can agree and say that yes we follow the legislation of like the hijab or be it brothers 0.96

00:17:17.480 where the beard or praying or fasting whatever it may be we do it because allah tells us to yes so

00:17:24.460 we can't really say it's per say it's a choice so now i want to come to the other side sister farzana

00:17:28.840 yeah so when they say for example when the sister said it's my choice to dress up like this this is

00:17:34.100 where this book comes in beauty sick yeah because there is a generation of like if you look at some

00:17:41.420 studies here yeah it's mind-blowing yeah if you think about it it's as if they are saying okay we've

00:17:46.720 left islam like for example whoever it may be and they make it seem as if they've found freedom no 0.98

00:17:51.920 you've just you've just you're you're following another religion now you know because if you

00:17:56.160 think about it as muslims we we have to fast in ramadan right this in this book it talks about

00:18:00.260 for example how girls who they they literally they fast but you know why they fast because of their 1.00

00:18:08.240 body because you imagine as a believer as muslims we fast because allah tells us to now some people

00:18:15.180 who leave the religion i'm not saying all of them yeah but the thing is now you go into this zone

00:18:20.060 where for example you are the beauty industry let's talk about the beauty industry how you've

00:18:24.160 been hyper sexualized sexualized society you've got the peer pressure how i do not believe this

00:18:29.760 statement and tell me if i'm wrong sister farzana to say that you you are you made the choice without

00:18:35.380 any peer pressure to take off your hijab to for example dressing up but dressing in a certain way

00:18:41.120 are you telling me that there was nothing at play that made you do that because when you think about

00:18:46.620 force we think someone's got a gun to your head or you're forced and i'm not denying there are people

00:18:50.340 who force their children to wear hijab yeah i'm not talking about that yet but if we're going to

00:18:54.920 talk about a bigger picture here you are indirectly subconsciously being forced to look and dress a

00:19:01.100 certain way that you can't even step out the house without the makeup so sister farzana 0.68

00:19:04.660 hope that answer the question sometimes i go all over the place but do you answer the question or

00:19:10.140 should i reiterate it no no no that's fine um i think personally i think media and family and

00:19:18.020 friends can sometimes influence the way you you know say i made a choice um it can be in a way

00:19:25.000 forced upon you in in a subconscious way where you don't even realize that you've kind of thought

00:19:32.140 you've made a choice but it's never been your choice all the way along it's been through the

00:19:36.940 influence of others and yes media does play a major part in this but i also believe that the

00:19:42.180 surroundings you have within the home that's also going to play a major influence in the way you

00:19:47.720 dress and the way you behave um you know in some cases where a sister is trying to wear a hijab 0.87

00:19:54.220 and the family members will have no respect for that they'll walk in on her without knocking on the 0.59

00:20:00.080 door um they might even say to her oh you've become holy all of a sudden so there's a lot of pressure

00:20:05.660 that sisters and brothers may feel for example a brother may start keeping a beard and all of a

00:20:10.900 sudden the friends that he's been hanging around with all these years are now saying hang on a minute

00:20:15.620 when did you become holy don't tell me you know um so there's a lot of that so yeah we can blame

00:20:24.340 the media but i think that there's it's deeper than that and family and friends can also influence

00:20:30.440 rather than you saying okay i made this choice um okay so she's saying there was a survey over

00:20:37.120 200 000 young people in 42 different countries i was saddened but not surprised to read that among

00:20:43.460 15 year olds in every country surveyed surveyed girls were more likely than boys to report that they

00:20:49.660 were too fat one survey of over 50 000 adults found that women were less satisfied over with how they 0.99

00:20:55.920 look compared to men and this affects their life so if you think about it there is a pandemic yeah 0.96

00:21:03.040 it's it's absolutely crazy you know and there was a there was a survey that was done for example how

00:21:08.540 you know in ads they use these you know half naked girls etc and they were talking about there was

00:21:14.080 study done uh in i can't remember which university it was in america and what they did is that they

00:21:20.620 they placed watches so these watches were from 10 000 pounds to 5 000 pounds to a thousand pounds

00:21:25.280 100 pounds to 10 pounds 10 10 dollars women were they were less uh emotionally upset when it was 1.00

00:21:33.240 when they were advertising in a in a let's say in a bikini or whatever to an expensive watch but when

00:21:38.900 it was a cheaper watch they felt more you know emotionally upset so you like you can see for

00:21:44.440 example firstly for them to be sexually objectified they're not even beyond that like in back in the

00:21:49.580 days in jahiliya when i used to like go to clubbing and stuff like that there are certain rappers who

00:21:53.460 would use the b word and you will have girls in the club literally like yeah i'm uh i'm thinking

00:21:58.620 i'm i'm thinking like so can you imagine the level of indoctrination that they are they are they are

00:22:05.900 accepting and uh you're embracing a term with the b word and they're embracing it like as if it's

00:22:11.800 something to be proud of where is this like where do you think this this is coming from and it comes back

00:22:17.420 to our point are they truly free when they say we choose to dress up like this or look like this

00:22:23.660 and even just recently a a supermodel who got you know plastic surgery in a certain part of her body 1.00

00:22:30.500 died so can you see the pandemic and if there's a sister watching this what would you say to when

00:22:35.880 when they come and say okay i found my freedom and i took off the hijab sister let's start with you 0.99

00:22:40.180 um i think the way in which um modern day describe freedom is very different to the way in which we

00:22:47.500 look at it um there are certain ways that we have to also understand that the human nature and human

00:22:52.780 beings there isn't such a thing that we just choose freely we are always influenced in one particular

00:22:58.760 way or another that was my point to begin with and i think a lot of people lack that kind of knowledge

00:23:03.860 as to how human mind and behavior and psychology works because they think that they are free they think

00:23:09.660 they're making choices but we know from you know many levels whether it's policy governments whether

00:23:14.860 it's media and especially as much as what everyone says social media does affect a lot of us this is

00:23:20.500 what we're constantly being bombarded with and there are some you know subliminal messages all over us

00:23:26.280 where we are now being programmed and institutionalized to act behave in a particular way and even this whole

00:23:35.100 you know circumstance that we're in in this pandemic has shown how much we have to

00:23:39.500 conform and perform in particular states of mind and i just think that each one has to really take on

00:23:47.280 that role of education especially when it comes to your faith because as much as people say oh i don't

00:23:53.100 want to do something that's been there you know hundreds of years ago but it's our history that's

00:23:57.820 giving us the solutions today with regards to how we need to do things when it comes to our faith

00:24:04.260 is not just you know a separation to our lifestyle as we know our faith is our life if only we knew

00:24:12.660 how to perform it because if you pray then that should add to your day that should add to the benefits

00:24:19.460 that should do something but we're not taught that way we're not looking at it that way and we're only

00:24:24.040 rituals that's why we're not actually getting the benefits and then we're varying again to another

00:24:30.000 section so there's so many things to consider on this but again i think a lot of people need to

00:24:34.620 really understand education when it comes to the woman who wrote this she's doing a survey she asked

00:24:40.880 these uh participants think about the ways in which you believe your life would be different if you look

00:24:45.020 like this woman how would things change for you so your ideal woman yeah the response was so upsetting

00:24:50.540 this is from her the response was so upsetting but i considered stopping the study early one young woman

00:24:55.500 told us that if she could just be beautiful she would finally be able to focus on her inner inner

00:25:00.180 inner abilities and talent another said she might genuinely feel happy most of the time instead of

00:25:05.380 just faking it a different young woman explained that if she could just look the way our culture wants 1.00

00:25:10.300 women to look she would never have look she would never have had an eating disorder causing stress 0.59

00:25:16.200 on everyone around her that she loves but still hurts over 70 percent of the women in the study said

00:25:21.080 they'll be treated better but by others if they looked like the beauty ideal yeah sister naima you're 0.99

00:25:26.320 a revert to islam yeah i don't know how long you've been a revert um but if you can tell us as a revert

00:25:31.000 sister maybe um like i said before maybe in your young how long you've been a revert sister by the way

00:25:36.160 23 years mashallah so did you have a moment in your life before you came to islam where

00:25:43.240 you felt pressured um and and and to look a certain way and why did you choose islam because 0.57

00:25:49.580 as as a western like a woman somebody come and say why would you choose islam out of all religions

00:25:54.200 look and look at look how oppressed you are you know we can only just see your eyes you know so 0.79

00:25:57.220 you're such a you know there's this concept you know you're why your husband probably beats you up

00:26:01.360 and oh you're such a miskin you know we feel sorry for you let's start a charity for you 1.00

00:26:04.340 is this the case why did you embrace islam i don't mind someone starting a charity for me that's fine

00:26:09.860 thank you like that no um really uh actually it's very interesting that you asked that question

00:26:16.060 because i considered myself a feminist growing up uh when i was a teenager what i understood of

00:26:21.240 feminism uh which was basically you know women living loud and proud i considered myself that 1.00

00:26:26.280 and it was actually seeing women wearing hijab in egypt that kind of opened my eyes to islam

00:26:33.440 because i got very angry i got very very angry by seeing all these covered women you know more and 1.00

00:26:39.640 more and more of them and i and i and i did exactly what you said i said you know why are these women 1.00

00:26:44.220 oppressed why do they make them dress like this this is not good they should be free to dress how

00:26:48.740 they want etc and subhanallah it's it's really allah's father that he chose that to guide me because

00:26:55.540 it really was this fascination with like like why would you want to dress like that that made me

00:27:01.440 actually speak to someone and say you know you're so beautiful why do you cover yourself and she just 0.99

00:27:07.500 said to me may allah bless her subhanallah this this this sister because there's a woman in egypt in a 0.88

00:27:12.820 city in egypt and i asked her you're so beautiful why do you cover yourself and she said to me check

00:27:18.440 this because i want to be judged for what i say and what i do not what i look like and for me that was

00:27:27.500 like like what is this mindset what is this strength what is this courage what is this this woman who does

00:27:38.240 not need what me and all my friends need which is appreciation male validation admiration all these

00:27:47.040 things that we were taught to to crave and to see she doesn't need any of that exactly and you know

00:27:52.000 you know i'm gonna go back to the book i'm so sorry look what she says here yeah beauty sickness

00:27:56.420 is what happens when women's emotionally emotional energy get so bound up with what they see in the

00:28:01.600 mirror that it becomes harder for them to see the other aspects of their lives yeah this is this is

00:28:06.340 crazy i'm not gonna quote from this book anymore by the way we're gonna wrap up in a minute but the

00:28:09.720 thing is it's so powerful that as a like for example like our sisters you guys are on here

00:28:14.080 like as muslim men like we we try to own our sister and be respectful in the way span of the way we

00:28:19.280 conduct ourselves and the thing is it's like it's you when we look at you we should look at you as a

00:28:25.500 human being you're a person not okay you know for example i need to you know impress someone with

00:28:31.700 you know my makeup or whatever it may be etc yeah that's normal everyone has their struggles etc

00:28:37.340 but what i'm trying to say is that it's not you don't like sometimes i look at certain females and 0.98

00:28:41.140 i'm like wow the only thing you have to offer is your body parts and that's so sad that society

00:28:45.920 has brought you to such a low level that you think the only thing you have to offer is your body parts 0.54

00:28:52.060 and as islam has come to get rid of that break those shackles and to say you're a human being 0.79

00:28:57.300 you have much more to offer so for closing statements i want to start with sister farzana

00:29:02.560 if you sister naim have you finished your point or is there anything else you wanted to say

00:29:05.200 yeah because you asked about the um you know the difference between being you know non-muslim and

00:29:11.260 being muslim and i think that you know what we need to really realize today is that the same

00:29:15.780 pressures that i felt as a young woman growing up are felt today by muslim girls times 100 if not 0.99

00:29:24.220 1000 and i'm gonna put it on social media store sorry sorry not sorry but it is social media and

00:29:29.980 our girls are suffering from it too so you see what you said there about knowing what you have to offer

00:29:35.660 and knowing that it's so much more than the way that you look that is something that we should be

00:29:40.740 teaching our boys and especially our girls from the home through schools through as you said

00:29:45.880 you know madaris etc because it is a huge muscular in our society today

00:29:51.960 yeah i bless you sister farzana closing statements anything there's young girls watching this 0.99

00:29:56.160 and you know just your closing statement i think there's a lot of pressure on you know young

00:30:03.860 sisters to kind of like conform to what society wants them to be and yeah there is a slight movement

00:30:12.740 in that in the kind of like uh western side of things where ladies are you know big is beautiful 1.00

00:30:19.980 and all this kind of stuff but i think if they there's still that kind of essence of beautiful

00:30:29.200 what is beauty you know beauty is from the soul that you could have the most amazing person to look at

00:30:36.020 and yet you know when they speak or their personality of their character it's ugly so we have to as

00:30:43.720 individuals you know put that forward in the sense you know in the past i've heard parents say to their

00:30:49.740 children why are you dressed like that that doesn't look right for changing clothes or you know they'll

00:30:55.480 grill their child for not looking like or what it should do even you know i've seen two-year-olds

00:31:00.460 three-year-olds where parents are dressing them up as this perfect instagram baby and it gets ridiculous

00:31:08.500 to the point where parents themselves or you know society as a whole we're not realizing that what

00:31:16.040 what kind of vibe are we coming off so i think you know we we have to look at ourselves as well that

00:31:21.900 where where do we draw the line yes media is is the influencing in a major way but then

00:31:29.820 how much how many of us are actually taking a back seat and thinking no i don't want to look like

00:31:35.320 that i want to look like this whether whether we're a muslim or whatever religion that might might

00:31:41.100 be i think you know we have to look at ourselves and then you know understand that way we can make

00:31:46.080 that change of um within the homes as well because you know these the media how does it come into the

00:31:52.240 home we're bringing it into the home we're not supervising our children we're not supervising these

00:31:57.460 teenagers you know and as children we're not into you know with our younger children toddlers

00:32:04.920 parents are not interacting with them so when the child grows up and becomes a teenager that teenager

00:32:10.840 no longer wants to interact with the parent so now when you when you say to your teenager you know

00:32:16.340 you should be dressing like that when you go out they're gonna ignore you the way you ignore them

00:32:21.080 as a child so there's a lot that we can we can talk about this forever i think you know

00:32:26.820 just a famous um closing statements i think in this day and age um we are definitely able to adapt

00:32:38.280 and the way in which we can adapt is to understand especially as muslims that life is a struggle

00:32:44.640 it's not easy to wear the hijab and we need to embrace that because we always want to be comfortable

00:32:50.260 and we always want to fit in and that also comes with your lack of confidence self-esteem

00:32:55.080 and more importantly know your meaning and purpose in life study that understand that when you have

00:33:02.280 your meaning and purpose in life no matter what platform you're on no matter where you're sitting at

00:33:07.000 you don't need to be there for everyone and that is okay and that's the issue right now

00:33:11.880 because we want to constantly be acknowledged you know given that kind of like you know tap on the

00:33:17.840 back or those hundred likes and shares and whatever it may be we need that acknowledgement

00:33:22.460 because we are not fulfilled and happy within ourselves and when you know your meaning and purpose

00:33:28.280 in life when you are strong and you have that kind of understanding of your own faith and belief

00:33:33.940 which gives you all the answers the key is there that you just have to open the treasures

00:33:37.980 and it gives you all the answers i would say go and read and learn and look there's many things out

00:33:43.600 there even use social media to your advantage to listen to lecturers the right people the right

00:33:48.740 influences the right role models and you will get that answer and the right direction inshallah

00:33:54.500 may Allah bless you guys all of you it's amazing mashallah amazing perspective from you guys

00:33:59.900 and inshallah if there's any more other topics regarding you know this area where sisters are needed 0.98

00:34:05.140 definitely love for you guys to come again inshallah may Allah bless you guys and for those who are

00:34:08.820 watching once again like i said before um i i i put emphasis uh on what the sister said last about

00:34:15.720 the choice because we go under this impression um that we think we're making decisions but we don't

00:34:21.460 understand that you know subconsciously we are being forced and we don't realize and then we're like

00:34:25.700 i choose to whenever you think you think about this sisters yeah for those who for example i'm not

00:34:31.160 talking about those who just taking the hijab off this video is mainly down for those who are

00:34:34.140 ex-muslim females thinking that they're liberating themselves by leaving the hijab and thinking that 0.87

00:34:38.760 it was their conscious decision to make that and i'm saying was it really think about it for example

00:34:44.760 and especially when these females for example i had a discussion with one of them in speaker's 1.00

00:34:48.640 corner she came and she was dressed in such a way that i i i she was there and i had to talk like

00:34:54.900 this yeah i couldn't look at her it was impossible for me to look at her and i was thinking

00:34:59.200 she am i going to be that she consciously made that decision to dress up like that why would you

00:35:05.680 want to show a certain part of your body in display to that amount of your freedom to do whatever you

00:35:10.640 like i'm just thinking was it a free choice or was it manipulated in a certain way subconsciously

00:35:16.100 that you think you made a choice but you actually didn't and that's what this video was about today

00:35:20.880 brothers and sisters if you would like sister farzana sister naima sister faima to do reaction videos

00:35:26.180 to other topics regarding this issue where a sister's perspective said i've listened to you
