Your belief is that the Father, the God, you have a personal relationship with the Father.
00:00:06.000
The Father is saying, in order for you to have salvation, you have to believe that I took an innocent man
00:00:13.000
who did nothing wrong to anybody. I need his blood to forgive you.
00:00:31.000
Okay, so I'm interested, I can ask your viewers as well. I'm interested in knowing how do you obtain mercy in Islam.
00:00:38.000
Because you're sharing, affection, love and mercy. I'm just interested in the mercy aspect of Islam.
00:00:45.000
Yeah, I would say, look, the way I understand mercy from the Islamic perspective is
00:00:50.000
mercy is not like a final state that you aim to reach.
00:00:56.000
There's two types of mercy. There's mercy that you can obtain in this world
00:01:00.000
and there's the final mercy that you're probably talking about, which you will obtain on a day of judgment
00:01:09.000
Mercy is not like something that is final, but it's more of a practice in Islam, a process.
00:01:20.000
You continuously seek mercy by asking the Almighty God or Allah.
00:01:34.000
Mercy actually is like a development and it develops the character and also it's an evolution.
00:01:42.000
The more you do it, the easier it becomes for you, you know, to seek mercy.
00:01:50.000
But if you want to get technical with it, mercy is in three parts.
00:01:56.000
So in order to obtain mercy or willing to want mercy, it means that sometime down the line you've committed a sin, right?
00:02:13.000
First of all, you have to reject the act of sinning.
00:02:20.000
And once you've done that, you have to have the determination not to go back, even though if you...
00:02:25.000
Even though there might be a possibility that you might go back, but at that point when you have made that decision,
00:02:32.000
So do you believe that every single human being...
00:02:51.000
So what do your scriptures say about obtaining mercy?
00:03:00.000
And how are you guaranteed that you receive this mercy?
00:03:13.000
It's a narration, a transmission that comes from the Prophet.
00:03:24.000
For example, there's one where it says, the Prophet says that Allah says,
00:03:28.000
even if you were to come with sins as high as the sky, like as in, I would still forgive you.
00:03:37.000
So mercy is not a door that is closed ever until you enter the grave.
00:03:53.000
Do you have a guaranteed proof that you're going to receive what you've asked for?
00:04:14.000
But our good deeds are not what's going to lead us to paradise.
00:04:18.000
Because from the get-go, we are indebted to God.
00:04:30.000
For us to say, you know what, God, we've repaid you back for what you've done for us.
00:04:35.000
Because there is a hadith, a narration, a saying of the prophet, peace be upon him.
00:04:38.000
He told us that on the day of judgment, a man will come.
00:04:40.000
And he will say to God Almighty, I would like to enter paradise with my good deeds.
00:04:45.000
I do not want to enter paradise with your mercy.
00:04:55.000
But you want to enter paradise with good deeds.
00:04:56.000
So what he did is, he took that man's eye, put it on the scales, got all of the good deeds that he did, and the eye outweighed all his good deeds.
00:05:09.000
He said, God Almighty said, well now you're destined to hell.
00:05:15.000
My justice means that the eye that you have, your good deeds, if you did it eternally, will never repay me back for the eye that I've given you.
00:05:24.000
When God said to him, go to hell, he said, God, please I want to enter paradise with your mercy.
00:05:30.000
Because he understood that with justice, he's indebted.
00:05:33.000
So that's the reason why, we as human beings, from the get-go, we, there is nothing that we can do to repay God.
00:05:40.000
But what God wants from us is to acknowledge him.
00:05:43.000
To acknowledge that there is him and him alone.
00:05:45.000
How do you, how do you obtain mercy in Christianity?
00:05:47.000
Do you have to believe that Jesus died for the sins?
00:05:58.000
In Islam, God tells us that if you sin and your sins are to reach the mountains and the skies, I will forgive every single one of them, as long as you don't associate partners with me.
00:06:12.000
The only way I will forgive the sins is that I need blood sacrifice of an innocent man.
00:06:17.000
Talking about mercy, can you kindly tell me which one seems more merciful to you and why?
00:06:22.000
Jesus Christ's whole being was to be born and to die.
00:06:31.000
Because for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten son.
00:06:39.000
That's everybody, anyone, white, black, Indian, Chinese, do anybody.
00:06:59.000
You either accept him now while you're walking or you'll pay the consequences later.
00:07:04.000
So which one, from what I said, Christianity, the God of Christianity requires blood sacrifice.
00:07:15.000
All you have to do is ask for repentance and you're forgiven.
00:07:17.000
That's why you don't have, that's why you don't have a guarantee that you can, I can
00:07:26.000
Me, I can offer up myself to die, not to go and kill other people in the name of Jesus.
00:08:01.000
The God of Islam says, no blood is needed for me.
00:08:10.000
Not only when you sin and you repent, God turns all your bad deeds into good deeds.
00:08:29.000
Let me explain because I know where you're going, yeah?
00:08:39.000
Does he just say, oh, my son, it's okay, I'm not going to punish you.
00:09:04.000
But he's only a father to those who choose him to be a father.
00:09:17.000
What I'm saying is, okay, you have God the father.
00:09:22.000
But what I'm saying is, look, please hear me out.
00:09:23.000
Your belief is that the father, the God, you have a personal relationship with him with
00:09:28.000
The father's saying, in order for you to have salvation, you have to believe that I took
00:09:34.000
an innocent man who did nothing wrong to anybody.
00:09:45.000
Because you came today and asked about mercy and love.
00:09:46.000
In Islam, God doesn't say to me, Ali, I need you to believe that I require blood sacrifice
00:09:54.000
God says to me, Ali, all you have to do is say, there's three conditions to repentance.
00:09:59.000
You stop the sin, you hate the sin, and you don't go back to the sin.
00:10:04.000
So Ali, that means you believe that from this, so what you're saying to me is-
00:10:10.000
No, what you're saying to me is when you sin today, Father, forgive me, I sinned, forgive
00:10:16.000
That means for the rest of your life, you've never sin again.
00:10:17.000
No, I can't, but I'll return back to repentance.
00:10:22.000
So, which means you're going to be, you're going to be repenting for the rest of your life.
00:10:55.000
Before you talk about sacrifice, he did not take an innocent man.
00:11:02.000
Look, he came here today and he said, I want to know, what does mercy mean in Islam?
00:11:07.000
If no one has to die, then you have no guarantee of your forgiveness.
00:11:16.000
You came and asked today, what is mercy in Islam?
00:11:22.000
Why do Muslims go out killing people in the name of Allah?
00:11:27.000
If somebody goes and kills, for example, Lord's Resistance Army in Central Africa.
00:11:31.000
Not only do they kill them, they burn them and eat them.
00:11:45.000
1 Samuel 15, verse 2-3, it says, go to the Amalekites, kill men, women, children, babies and donkeys.
00:11:51.000
Nowhere in the Quran does it say such statement.
00:11:54.000
So, the Jews, because they were sinful people, they were sinful nations.
00:12:00.000
So you're justifying the killing of babies and children and donkeys.
00:12:04.000
If they won't accept God's way, who are you man to question God?
