00:01:19.000 I mean, those who are committing sins, those who are committing zina, drinking alcohol,
00:01:23.000 maybe involved in robbery.
00:01:25.000 I mean, even as bad as someone maybe taking the life of somebody else.
00:01:28.000 Now you might be watching this and you might be thinking you have no hope.
00:01:30.000 Yes.
00:01:31.000 And I'll be honest with you.
00:01:32.000 That was something that I felt long, long time ago.
00:01:35.000 I would say 14 years ago.
00:01:36.000 You know, I've been a Muslim 13 years.
00:01:38.000 And subhanAllah, the lifestyle that I come from, as I told you guys,
00:01:42.000 clubbing, partying and all that kind of stuff.
00:01:44.000 Alhamdulillah.
00:01:45.000 Well, astafurullah, not alhamdulillah.
00:01:46.000 Alhamdulillah for that I came to Islam.
00:01:48.000 But astafurullah to that lifestyle.
00:01:49.000 And subhanAllah, I want to speak to the sinners,
00:01:51.000 the people out there who subhanAllah are indulged in this.
00:01:54.000 They don't know how to get out of it.
00:01:55.000 In my 13 years of experience as a Muslim,
00:01:58.000 I've noticed, alhamdulillah, Allah subhanAllah,
00:02:00.000 he nurtures you, he teaches you.
00:02:02.000 The greatest of all teachers teaches you tawakul,
00:02:05.000 teaches you trust in him, to know that the risk comes from him.
00:02:08.000 And these are things that a lot of born Muslims,
00:02:10.000 they don't really understand.
00:02:11.000 They don't understand the power of risk.
00:02:13.000 They don't understand how tawakul has changed my life forever.
00:02:18.000 As a non-Muslim, you know, where my money came from,
00:02:21.000 I thought I have to earn from any means.
00:02:23.000 Haram, halal.
00:02:24.000 We didn't know about halal.
00:02:25.000 So subhanAllah, even committing sins.
00:02:27.000 I can remember times where there was a specific sin
00:02:29.000 that I would really, really struggle with.
00:02:31.000 And I couldn't help myself.
00:02:33.000 And committing that sin,
00:02:34.000 especially knowing when I was at a stage
00:02:36.000 when I knew Islam is the truth.
00:02:38.000 And subhanAllah, I can remember my first Ramadan as well.
00:02:41.000 And repeating that cycle over and over again
00:02:43.000 because you couldn't help yourself.
00:02:45.000 Because you was indulged in sins that you couldn't let go.
00:02:48.000 And a lot of you guys will relate to this.
00:02:50.000 Because you need to understand,
00:02:52.000 there's two parts to yourself.
00:02:53.000 Like Allah says in the Quran in Juz Amma,
00:02:55.000 He says that,
00:02:56.000 and we've created mankind with inclination towards evil and good.
00:02:59.000 So you've been created with that for Allah subhanAllah to test you.
00:03:02.000 You really need to understand that.
00:03:03.000 And that evil thoughts that come to your mind.
00:03:05.000 And I used to have some really deep satanic evil thoughts that would come to me.
00:03:08.000 You need to really divide yourself and say,
00:03:10.000 that's not me.
00:03:12.000 That there is not me.
00:03:14.000 And subhanAllah, I will struggle with this sin.
00:03:16.000 And I can remember times as a grown man,
00:03:18.000 you know, who's involved in athletics or whatever it is for that matter.
00:03:21.000 I would cry.
00:03:22.000 Every time I would go and commit that sin, I would cry.
00:03:24.000 Why?
00:03:25.000 Because I knew Islam was the truth.
00:03:27.000 I didn't take my Shahada.
00:03:28.000 And why?
00:03:29.000 Because I feel that,
00:03:31.000 and this is a lot of reverts,
00:03:33.000 or those on the verge of accepting Islam would relate to this.
00:03:35.000 You think, until I stop sinning,
00:03:38.000 then I will go and do that.
00:03:40.000 You know?
00:03:41.000 And that's the biggest plot of Shaytan.
00:03:42.000 Because it works,
00:03:43.000 you're working the other way around.
00:03:45.000 Shaytan always makes you want to do the opposite.
00:03:47.000 Okay?
00:03:48.000 That's why you know Satan is Satanic.
00:03:49.000 They do everything the wrong way around.
00:03:51.000 So subhanAllah, you think to yourself,
00:03:53.000 and I would think to myself,
00:03:54.000 once I've stopped sinning,
00:03:56.000 then I will take my Shahada.
00:03:58.000 Once I've stopped sinning,
00:03:59.000 I'll start praying Sarah.
00:04:00.000 Once I've stopped sinning,
00:04:01.000 I'll start reading the Quran.
00:04:02.000 And when I stop sinning,
00:04:03.000 I will do Zakah.
00:04:04.000 That is the total opposite.
00:04:06.000 It's rather when you start praying Sarah.
00:04:08.000 It's rather when you give in Sadaqah.
00:04:10.000 It's rather when you do these actions
00:04:12.000 is what's going to stop you from sinning,
00:04:14.000 not vice versa.
00:04:15.000 That's the reason why you take the Aql,
00:04:18.000 our logic over what Allah's prescribed.
00:04:20.000 Our logic is fraud because we're limited.
00:04:22.000 And that's why you should always turn back
00:04:24.000 to the Quran and Sunnah.
00:04:25.000 And brothers and sisters,
00:04:26.000 when I would commit these sins
00:04:27.000 and I would cry and cry
00:04:28.000 and I would hate this sin.
00:04:29.000 You know why?
00:04:30.000 Because I knew Allah existed.
00:04:31.000 I knew Islam was the truth.
00:04:33.000 And I felt ashamed.
00:04:34.000 And this is how you would feel.
00:04:36.000 You feel ashamed that the one
00:04:37.000 that's created the heavens and the earth
00:04:39.000 and you acknowledge him and you love him.
00:04:40.000 And I know you guys love him.
00:04:42.000 Because don't let Shaytan make you feel
00:04:44.000 that you are odd and you're a sinner
00:04:45.000 and Allah hates you.
00:04:46.000 No.
00:04:47.000 Allah loves you.
00:04:48.000 And Allah wants the best for you.
00:04:50.000 So understand that
00:04:51.000 and don't ever put yourself down
00:04:53.000 and think I'm not good enough.
00:04:55.000 I'm not this.
00:04:56.000 Wallahi, this is the plot of Shaytan.
00:04:57.000 Crying is the first,
00:04:59.000 the scholars say,
00:05:00.000 is a step to repentance,
00:05:02.000 to hate the sin.
00:05:04.000 Yes, to hate the sin.
00:05:05.000 It's a first step to repentance.
00:05:07.000 So Wallahi, I would do that.
00:05:09.000 And believe me, Wallahi, Allah is my witness.
00:05:11.000 All I would do is,
00:05:12.000 and it reminds me of the ayah in the Quran
00:05:14.000 where Allah says,
00:05:16.000 if you fear me,
00:05:18.000 I will give you a way out
00:05:20.000 from places you can never imagine.
00:05:23.000 Allah ,
00:05:24.000 when we talk about rizq,
00:05:25.000 we think it's only money.
00:05:26.000 Allah will provide for you
00:05:28.000 when it comes to leaving sins.
00:05:29.000 Allah will provide for you in different ways.
00:05:31.000 It's not just monetary.
00:05:32.000 So Wallahi, I can remember
00:05:35.000 that I hated the sins so much
00:05:37.000 and I would cry so much
00:05:38.000 and Wallahi, I repented one day
00:05:39.000 and I said, I had enough.
00:05:41.000 Wallahi, I can remember
00:05:42.000 driving past Islan al-Masjid
00:05:44.000 and I parked on a double yellow line.
00:05:46.000 I did not care if my car gets towed,
00:05:47.000 but I had enough.
00:05:48.000 I went there, repented,
00:05:50.000 took my shahada
00:05:52.000 and someone taught me
00:05:53.000 how to pray salah.
00:05:54.000 Alhamdulillah,
00:05:55.000 and he's gained all the rewards for that.
00:05:56.000 And I can remember my first Ramadan
00:05:58.000 and there was one thing
00:05:59.000 that I said to myself is,
00:06:00.000 if there's anything
00:06:01.000 I'm not going to change,
00:06:02.000 doing this religion
00:06:03.000 is wake up for Fajr.
00:06:04.000 That's one thing I can't do.
00:06:06.000 And for you guys that are watching this
00:06:07.000 just before Ramadan,
00:06:08.000 you might be thinking, you know what?
00:06:10.000 I don't know if I'm going to stop
00:06:11.000 committing zinah in Ramadan.
00:06:12.000 I don't know if I'm going to stop
00:06:13.000 drinking in Ramadan.
00:06:14.000 I don't know if I'm going to stop
00:06:15.000 robbing people in Ramadan.
00:06:16.000 I don't know if I'm going to stop
00:06:17.000 disrespecting my mom
00:06:18.000 and this, that, whatever it is for that matter.
00:06:19.000 And believe me,
00:06:20.000 I used to feel the same way
00:06:21.000 when it came to specifically,
00:06:22.000 many other sins as well,
00:06:24.000 but specifically Fajr.
00:06:25.000 I said, I can't do that.
00:06:26.000 I mean, I couldn't pray
00:06:27.000 like I was praying certain prayers,
00:06:28.000 I was new to it.
00:06:29.000 But I can remember one thing,
00:06:31.000 subhanAllah,
00:06:32.000 being a Muslim for 13 years now,
00:06:33.000 there's one thing that I've realised
00:06:35.000 is that,
00:06:36.000 and when people come to me,
00:06:38.000 like for example,
00:06:39.000 the statement that
00:06:40.000 I cannot wake up for Fajr is true.
00:06:42.000 Now you might guys be shocked,
00:06:43.000 I was like, yes,
00:06:44.000 I'm telling you,
00:06:45.000 you can't stop committing zinah in Ramadan.
00:06:48.000 You can't stop drinking alcohol in Ramadan.
00:06:50.000 Maybe you can't even stop it
00:06:52.000 if you're a gang member,
00:06:53.000 you're killing people.
00:06:54.000 I don't think you can stop that in Ramadan
00:06:56.000 or disrespecting your mom in Ramadan
00:06:58.000 or doing all those sins.
00:06:59.000 I'm telling you straight to your face.
00:07:00.000 Now you might be thinking,
00:07:01.000 Brother Ali, what on earth are you talking about?
00:07:02.000 I mean, this is a video to help us to change
00:07:04.000 or get worse or lose hope.
00:07:06.000 You need to understand the reality,
00:07:07.000 which I have understood.
00:07:09.000 You yourself cannot do it.
00:07:12.000 Accept that reality.
00:07:14.000 You yourself cannot do it,
00:07:15.000 but this doesn't mean you don't put the effort.

00:07:20.000 The first year of that Ramadan,
00:07:22.000 I couldn't wake up for Fajr,
00:07:24.000 but I would pray as soon as I woke up.

00:07:27.000 the second year of Ramadan, I said, no,
00:07:29.000 I cannot.
00:07:30.000 My Allah, I know who He is.
00:07:32.000 And He's given me so much blessings.
00:07:33.000 I cannot go another year
00:07:36.000 without praying,
00:07:37.000 like we're not waking up for Fajr,
00:07:38.000 struggling with it.
00:07:39.000 And wallahi, let me tell you something.
00:07:41.000 You know what Allah looks at?
00:07:42.000 Allah looks at the sacrifice you're going to do.
00:07:45.000 Allah looks at how bad do you want to leave that sin?
00:07:48.000 Allah wants to see how effort,
00:07:50.000 how much effort,
00:07:51.000 how much sacrifice you're going to do.
00:07:53.000 And when we look at Ibrahim,
00:07:54.000 when he was asked to sacrifice his son,
00:07:56.000 we think the first sacrifice he had to do
00:07:58.000 was to slaughter his son.
00:07:59.000 Rather, no.
00:08:00.000 Some scholars say the first thing he had to sacrifice
00:08:03.000 was to internally accept
00:08:06.000 that I'm going to sacrifice my son.
00:08:08.000 Because if he didn't sacrifice that internally,
00:08:10.000 he would not be able to do it physically.
00:08:12.000 So it starts here.
00:08:14.000 That's what Allah says in the Quran.
00:08:15.000 We do not change the condition of man
00:08:17.000 until he changes what's within himself.
00:08:19.000 You have to put the effort to the best of ability.
00:08:22.000 You might be walking towards zina,
00:08:24.000 or robbery,
00:08:25.000 or drinking alcohol,
00:08:26.000 or gambling.
00:08:27.000 But ultimately, let me tell you this.
00:08:30.000 You and I cannot stop those sins.
00:08:32.000 Can we put effort to try to?
00:08:34.000 Yes.
00:08:35.000 And once you put the effort,
00:08:37.000 like Allah,
00:08:38.000 when he told Musa to hit the water
00:08:40.000 and the CEO departed,
00:08:41.000 when Allah told Maryam to shake the tree
00:08:44.000 as a pregnant woman,
00:08:46.000 to see the effort you're going to put in.
00:08:48.000 And then Allah's aid and help came.
00:08:50.000 Not the other way around.
00:08:51.000 Not sitting at home and not doing,
00:08:53.000 and actively just sinning,
00:08:54.000 not caring.
00:08:55.000 No, no, no, no, no.
00:08:56.000 Hating the sin.
00:08:57.000 Crying about it.
00:08:58.000 Actively trying to stop it.
00:08:59.000 But ultimately,
00:09:00.000 you and I,
00:09:01.000 and the sins I was committing
00:09:02.000 and you're going to be sinning,
00:09:03.000 because this is a video to sinners like us.
00:09:05.000 Till this day I'm still a sinner.
00:09:06.000 That Allah will help you do it.
00:09:09.000 You yourself cannot do it.
00:09:11.000 But Allah can make you do it.
00:09:13.000 Because the statement is true.

00:09:16.000 But then say,
00:09:17.000 no one can help me stop doing it.
00:09:19.000 That's not true.
00:09:20.000 Because that's where Allah comes in.
00:09:22.000 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the missing key.
00:09:25.000 When you put the effort in.
00:09:26.000 When you hate that sin.
00:09:27.000 When you repent.
00:09:28.000 When you fall into it over and over again.
00:09:30.000 But when Allah sees how bad you want to stop it.
00:09:32.000 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is my witness.
00:09:34.000 I can remember that sin that I used to commit.
00:09:36.000 And I'm not talking about Fajr.
00:09:38.000 A major sin that I used to commit.
00:09:41.000 And wallahi I can remember.
00:09:43.000 It's as if someone put me to sleep in a coma.
00:09:45.000 And I woke up a year and a half later.
00:09:47.000 And I thought to myself.
00:09:48.000 Subhanallah bro.
00:09:49.000 I used to commit this specific sin.
00:09:51.000 What happened?
00:09:52.000 Bro.
00:09:53.000 I go into the Dawah scene.
00:09:54.000 And when I go into the Dawah scene.
00:09:55.000 I got so occupied with Dawah.
00:09:56.000 And I love this so much.
00:09:57.000 And I put so much happiness and content into my heart.
00:10:00.000 I totally forgot about that thing bro.
00:10:03.000 I don't know how.
00:10:04.000 It's like it was erasing my memory.
00:10:05.000 You know men in black.
00:10:06.000 When it goes flash.
00:10:07.000 And you forget everything.
00:10:08.000 It's as if I forgot and remembered it about a year and a half later.

00:10:14.000 There was a sin that I used to do.
00:10:16.000 It's as if Allah occupied me.
00:10:18.000 And that's why when Allah says.
00:10:20.000 If you fear me.
00:10:21.000 Genuinely fear.
00:10:23.000 And you hate and cry.
00:10:24.000 That you hate the sin.
00:10:25.000 Do you really think Allah is going to let you carry on that sin?
00:10:28.000 He's not.
00:10:29.000 Once you show your loyalty in that manner.
00:10:32.000 And I realize.
00:10:33.000 Subhanallah.
00:10:34.000 I would have never in a million years think.
00:10:36.000 That the way I'm going to move away from that sin.
00:10:38.000 Is by Allah occupying me with Dawah.
00:10:40.000 And I forget that.
00:10:42.000 And Subhanallah.
00:10:43.000 Not that the temptations or this that or whatever.
00:10:46.000 I was being tested with didn't come back.
00:10:48.000 But it made me forget that.
00:10:50.000 And I was now seeking things in.
00:10:52.000 Like Allah says.
00:10:53.000 You know if you leave something for the sake of Allah.
00:10:55.000 Allah will replace it with something better.
00:10:57.000 And this video is for you guys.

00:11:00.000 To acknowledge that I am a sinner to this day.

00:12:18.000 Who have wronged other people.

00:12:25.000 This Ramadan.
00:12:26.000 Can be a change for you.

00:13:48.000 And the angel of wrath.
00:13:49.000 And the angel of mercy come.
00:13:51.000 And they are debating one another.

00:13:53.000 We're going to take him.
00:13:54.000 And the angel of mercy say.
00:13:55.000 No.
00:13:56.000 He was on his way to repentance.
00:13:57.000 They said.
00:13:58.000 But he didn't reach the land.
00:13:59.000 So much so.

00:14:01.000 And they come to an agreement.
00:14:02.000 That if he was closer to the land of mercy.

00:14:06.000 He would be taken by the angel of mercy.

00:14:12.000 That Allah shifted earth.
