00:00:00.000 And it translated, there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger.
00:00:02.860 I was like, oh, is that what they say before they blow up?
00:00:05.280 And that's just, that's just my thinking, because I don't know any better.
00:00:08.120 So I just Google it, like, oh, okay, like, what do they say before they blow up?
00:00:12.640 And like...
00:00:30.000 As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, brothers and sisters and dear friends, we are in California.
00:00:42.980 Yes, we are.
00:00:43.840 Today I've got a special video for you guys.
00:00:45.180 I met a brother called Jose.
00:00:47.600 He's a Mexican brother who's come to Islam.
00:00:50.240 His story is touching.
00:00:51.740 He hasn't given me the full story, but even from the beginning, it's a beautiful story.
00:00:55.700 He's also a security guard, quite dangerous, with a pistol.
00:00:58.780 We're going to go find out what's going on.
00:01:00.980 He's right next to his cop car.
00:01:02.640 I'm going to be heading there.
00:01:03.840 You can follow me from here, in the car, or up there.
00:01:06.860 You'll find out what I'm talking about.
00:01:09.160 So guys, am I taking public transport?
00:01:11.720 No, I'm not.
00:01:12.820 I'm going with this go-kart.
00:01:14.740 Yes.
00:01:15.900 This place, this must be the go-kart.
00:01:18.960 So, we're going to brother Jose.
00:01:20.580 He's right down that corner, inshaAllah.
00:01:23.280 And we're going to talk to him.
00:01:25.220 He seems like a very, very good brother, mashaAllah.
00:01:28.780 And may Allah bless him.
00:01:30.120 He comes from a Mexican background.
00:01:31.700 Actually, I think he's the first Mexican I've ever come across.
00:01:34.280 So, we're going to find out exactly how he came to Islam.
00:01:37.580 And here we are.
00:01:38.580 He's waiting for us.
00:01:47.040 Okay, guys.
00:01:48.080 So, brother Jose.
00:01:49.600 Jose.
00:01:50.320 We're going to find out.
00:01:51.100 He's going to tell me how to pronounce that right.
00:01:52.700 He's here, right next to his police car.
00:01:53.880 Hopefully, no bullets will be fired.
00:01:56.700 We're going to find out, inshaAllah, full of us inside the car.
00:02:00.720 Assalamualaikum.
00:02:01.800 You all right?
00:02:02.920 Let's get in the car, yeah?
00:02:10.640 Okay.
00:02:11.620 It's going to be hot in this car.
00:02:13.060 A little bit.
00:02:14.040 Correct in this car.
00:02:14.900 So, I'm going to take my jockey with that.
00:02:15.860 It should be fine.
00:02:16.460 All right.
00:02:17.020 First time I'm in an American police car.
00:02:18.640 Oh, yeah.
00:02:19.360 Yes.
00:02:20.440 So, brother.
00:02:21.340 Luckily, it's not the back.
00:02:22.360 Yeah.
00:02:22.900 Are you comfortable?
00:02:23.980 Alhamdulillah, yeah.
00:02:24.360 Because it might be a long talk, you know.
00:02:25.640 It's all good.
00:02:26.080 I'm here for it.
00:02:26.520 Okay, Alhamdulillah.
00:02:27.220 Okay, so.
00:02:28.640 Asalaamu alaykum, firstly.
00:02:30.120 May Allah bless you, inshaAllah, for your time.
00:02:31.700 Asalaamu alaykum.
00:02:32.280 Thank you for having me.
00:02:33.120 How do you pronounce your name?
00:02:36.100 I said Hosea.
00:02:37.940 It's Hosea Palacios.
00:02:39.980 Hosea.
00:02:40.600 Yeah.
00:02:41.100 Okay.
00:02:41.620 But your Muslim name is?
00:02:43.260 Yusuf.
00:02:43.820 Okay.
00:02:44.680 Same thing.
00:02:45.620 Okay, can you explain that to us?
00:02:46.720 Yeah, so, brother and sister.
00:02:47.280 He said to me, Hosea, because as far as I know, Joseph is Yusuf.
00:02:53.160 So, what is Hosea?
00:02:53.760 Is that like a Mexican accent?
00:02:55.480 It's just a Spanish version.
00:02:56.740 So, it's just.
00:02:57.200 Oh, Spanish. 1.00
00:02:57.520 Yeah, so, Hosea is Joseph in Spanish.
00:03:00.420 Yeah.
00:03:01.400 And then Joseph is obviously Yusuf.
00:03:03.940 So.
00:03:04.220 Okay.
00:03:04.720 Yeah, so instead of just, instead of translating Yusuf to Joseph, you're just translating Yusuf
00:03:09.200 to Hosea.
00:03:10.260 Okay.
00:03:10.860 Mashallah.
00:03:11.140 That's an interesting fact.
00:03:12.620 So, now, obviously, I know a lot of revert stories and stuff like that are done in a
00:03:16.460 mutual, you know, they're setting inside.
00:03:18.740 Before I add a bit of spice into it, yeah?
00:03:21.540 So, Aki, tell me your story, yeah?
00:03:24.540 Okay.
00:03:26.120 Before Islam, what was you doing? 1.00
00:03:28.320 How did it all happen?
00:03:29.060 You gave me a little brief story.
00:03:30.560 But, tell me, firstly, what you was doing before Islam. 0.80
00:03:34.500 Okay.
00:03:35.180 What was your first occurrence with a Muslim and your first occurrence with Islam?
00:03:40.620 Good thing we have a couple hours on the go.
00:03:43.340 Yeah.
00:03:45.180 So, before I was Muslim, I grew up in a diverse neighborhood.
00:03:49.780 I grew up in San Jose, California.
00:03:51.780 Yeah.
00:03:52.160 Mostly Hispanics there, of course.
00:03:53.600 I didn't really come across too many other people besides a few white people and, like,
00:03:58.720 black people.
00:04:01.400 But, you know, alhamdulillah, like, my family was never, we've always been kind people.
00:04:06.660 Never grew up with any prejudice against anyone.
00:04:09.160 So, whenever I saw people of any other, like, culture or anything, I never thought, like,
00:04:13.160 oh, look at them.
00:04:14.140 Like, why are they wrapped up?
00:04:15.580 This is why I just saw them as another human being, basically.
00:04:18.380 Okay.
00:04:20.120 Yeah.
00:04:20.580 So, we moved over here when I was younger.
00:04:22.900 And, I knew a couple of Muslim people in high school, but I just, I never classified
00:04:28.080 anyone like I was Muslim.
00:04:29.000 They were just my friends who just happened to be Arab or Middle Eastern.
00:04:32.280 Okay.
00:04:33.300 And, I know, I was close to them.
00:04:35.120 You know, I played football.
00:04:36.380 They were on the football team as well.
00:04:37.900 They were very close.
00:04:39.480 And, sorry.
00:04:41.000 Sorry, there's people coming in and out.
00:04:42.400 Yeah.
00:04:42.760 Sorry.
00:04:43.140 Yeah.
00:04:44.160 But, they weren't practicing.
00:04:45.900 So, I didn't learn anything about Islam or anything like that from them.
00:04:51.240 It was through my own, through my own research and studies that I found it.
00:04:55.980 But, so, leading on, you know, as life progressed on, you know, before, you know, the days of
00:05:03.160 jahlia, as some people say it.
00:05:04.780 Yeah.
00:05:05.760 I was kind of just going life, you know, one day at a time.
00:05:09.540 Yeah.
00:05:09.740 So, I was just focusing on, you know, work and school.
00:05:15.900 You know, I had, I grew up with religiously Catholic.
00:05:19.700 That's what a lot of Hispanics, Mexicans are.
00:05:21.540 So, all your family's Catholic, yeah?
00:05:22.800 Yeah.
00:05:23.140 Like, Roman Catholic. 0.92
00:05:24.100 Some of them will be Christian, but at the end of the day, it's kind of almost the same 0.99
00:05:27.260 thing.
00:05:27.620 Yeah.
00:05:27.780 But, ever since I was little, I always had my doubts.
00:05:32.240 My question was like, okay, why are we doing this?
00:05:33.980 Why are we doing that?
00:05:34.960 It doesn't make sense.
00:05:36.360 You know, like, why are we praying to Jesus if he's the son of God?
00:05:38.820 Should we pray to God?
00:05:39.840 You were saying there was an instance in your house where there, you said there was a picture
00:05:43.180 of Mary, the mother of Jesus or something like that?
00:05:47.000 Yeah, yeah.
00:05:47.380 So, I was saying, like, how come she's covered up and, like, the other people aren't supposed
00:05:51.220 to cover up.
00:05:52.060 Yeah.
00:05:52.180 Like, oh, that's just back then.
00:05:53.920 And, you know, I had questions too.
00:05:54.940 I was like, you know, why is she, why is she, uh, lightly skinned, complected?
00:06:00.340 Yeah.
00:06:00.520 I was like, if she's from the Middle East, she'd be, like, dark. 1.00
00:06:03.320 Yeah, like Jesus, blonde, blue eyes. 1.00
00:06:04.880 Exactly.
00:06:05.340 That, yeah, doesn't make any sense.
00:06:07.080 It's probably not accurate.
00:06:08.160 Yeah.
00:06:08.420 But, um, yeah, just those instances that, uh, so it's not that I didn't believe in God.
00:06:13.080 I just became more agnostic to kids as a higher being.
00:06:16.140 I feel I just wasn't sure what the right path was.
00:06:19.160 Okay.
00:06:19.560 So, some of the brothers said that they knew you before you used to work somewhere.
00:06:22.300 Yeah.
00:06:22.660 Yeah, so I used to work at the grocery store over, uh, Save Mart, what we have over here.
00:06:26.700 Yeah.
00:06:27.220 Um, yeah, so I would just work at the cashier.
00:06:29.260 Yeah.
00:06:29.540 Or work, uh, stocking the aisles.
00:06:31.180 Yeah.
00:06:31.660 And, uh, so I guess I always say I had Muslim friends that I've known growing up here.
00:06:36.060 Yeah.
00:06:36.400 Um, so they taught me a few phrases like, As-salamu alaykum.
00:06:39.720 Okay.
00:06:40.020 So, whenever I saw, like, a Muslim person, it was mostly the women, because obviously 1.00
00:06:45.080 I can tell that they're Muslim, aside from the men. 0.99
00:06:48.060 Yeah.
00:06:48.400 Uh, whenever I walked down the aisles, I'd be like, Oh, As-salamu alaykum.
00:06:50.900 Yeah.
00:06:51.060 And they get said, Oh, alaykum as-salam.
00:06:52.620 And they talk Arabic.
00:06:53.520 And I'm like, Oh, sorry.
00:06:54.100 That's all I know.
00:06:55.460 I don't know what you're talking about.
00:06:57.080 But, um, yeah.
00:06:58.620 So, that was just that.
00:06:59.460 I would see them every now and then.
00:07:00.840 And I would say, As-salamu alaykum.
00:07:02.240 I would kind of, like, go out of my way just to, just to go say hi to them.
00:07:05.660 Because I, me, myself, personally, the way I am, like, I like communicating with people.
00:07:09.800 I like making people feel good about themselves.
00:07:12.240 Because I know.
00:07:12.560 That's why you need to do that way.
00:07:13.200 You need to get involved in that way.
00:07:14.140 Inshallah, yeah, yeah.
00:07:15.220 Yeah, because, like, when I see, like, you know, because our job is, like, then, go salute,
00:07:19.900 say hi to every customer.
00:07:20.780 But I noticed some other co-workers, when they saw them, they were kind of a little hesitant
00:07:23.640 to go.
00:07:24.360 I was like, you know, I'm not afraid.
00:07:25.280 I'll go say hi to them, see if they want any help with anything.
00:07:27.840 But, yeah, so that was it.
00:07:29.360 Okay.
00:07:29.680 And what was your first occurrence with Islam?
00:07:33.000 That was a Muslim, and you said Salam.
00:07:34.760 Okay.
00:07:35.040 How did you get to find out about Islam?
00:07:38.480 So, it's just a couple of different instances where I would do, I would study one topic or
00:07:44.240 occurrence that came up.
00:07:46.120 So, this might sound a little, like, awkward or bad point of view to get it from, but I
00:07:51.320 like watching, like, war movies and stuff.
00:07:53.420 Okay.
00:07:53.700 Like, say, like, Black Hawk Down.
00:07:55.180 Oh, okay.
00:07:55.660 Or things like that.
00:07:56.660 Yeah.
00:07:56.880 And so, in Black Hawk Down, they would have transition scenes to where they would play
00:08:02.140 the call to prayer, like, you know, the adhan between scenes.
00:08:05.820 Whenever I'd hear, I was like, man, like, I don't know what this is, but it sounds nice.
00:08:09.100 Yeah.
00:08:09.280 I wish they played that here.
00:08:10.700 Like, because I felt, like, calm and peaceful about it.
00:08:12.820 Indirect.
00:08:14.060 Maybe one of the points of the video was to vilify a certain group of people, but look
00:08:18.520 how, in return, that's caused you to hear.
00:08:20.840 Then what happened?
00:08:21.440 Yeah.
00:08:21.860 So, then, and then another time, too, like, so the same instance, they, because you know
00:08:26.160 how there's YouTube videos that are shared, like, on Facebook, and it's, I believe it
00:08:32.260 was, like, during Ramadan, it was, like, and they were, they were all praying, and that
00:08:38.480 they had the English translations.
00:08:40.060 Yeah.
00:08:40.580 And then, so the user who posted it was saying, look at these Muslims of God, they're talking
00:08:45.660 about, like, killing us, or something like that, and the prayer. 0.66
00:08:48.700 Yeah.
00:08:48.960 But I'm sitting there, I'm actually, I'm actually taking the time to actually read the actual
00:08:52.740 subtitles.
00:08:53.560 I'm like, what are you talking about?
00:08:54.700 Like, this is nice.
00:08:55.520 Like, this sounds beautiful.
00:08:56.920 Like, I wish I was with them.
00:08:58.140 Yeah.
00:08:59.260 But just stuff like that, you know, I never, you know, I never went in with any prejudice
00:09:05.420 against, like, anything.
00:09:06.700 I never went in with hate or anything like that.
00:09:09.620 Okay.
00:09:10.200 So, you said, did you say you searched any specific, I don't know, I can't remember,
00:09:13.680 did you say you searched something in Google, like, you heard something from the Adhan, or
00:09:17.520 am I mistaken?
00:09:19.400 So, just different things like that, I would look up, like, what is the noise, like, just
00:09:22.880 the, what is that noise that comes during the movie, like, I would say noise.
00:09:26.940 Yeah.
00:09:27.260 And then, like, another movie called The Kingdom.
00:09:29.140 Yeah.
00:09:29.420 That was, you know, a part where the guy blows himself up, but before he, he does it, he says
00:09:34.820 the Shahada.
00:09:35.900 And this is before I knew it was the Shahada, but, you know, I had to put the subtitles on in the
00:09:38.760 movie, and it translated, there is no God but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger.
00:09:42.080 I was like, oh, is that what they say before they blow up?
00:09:44.480 And then, that's just, that's just my thing, because I don't know any better.
00:09:47.240 So, I just Googled it, like, oh, okay, like, what do they say when they, before they blow
00:09:51.300 up?
00:09:51.500 And, like, and then, you know, some tough stuff came up, and then, like, I started,
00:09:55.980 I'm like, oh, that's not what it's supposed to be used for, but then, you know, just learning,
00:09:59.660 and then, as, yeah, I know, but as I kept going, like, finding more stuff, obviously,
00:10:04.880 like, you know, YouTube-related videos, three hours later, you know, something else.
00:10:08.700 But, yeah, I just, I started watching all these videos that came across, like, Ahmed
00:10:14.480 did that, and all that, and then I was like, and then also, Khalid Yassin, yeah, yeah, all
00:10:20.540 those, and then from there, I was just like, wow, like, there's a lot more similarities than
00:10:25.440 I thought that there would be at all.
00:10:27.220 Yeah.
00:10:27.720 And then, as I started watching more and more videos and doing my own research, I was like,
00:10:31.540 you know, this, this makes more logical sense, since this answers the questions that I've
00:10:36.300 had, when I look at these, I see no, like, contradictions or anything, and, you know,
00:10:42.420 I feel like this is something for me, this is what I've been looking for, because before
00:10:45.760 then in my life, you know, everyone, no matter where you come from, you know, you have your
00:10:51.300 ups and downs, you go through similar things, like, I had a lot of close friends at a young
00:10:56.320 age die in different instances, like, either in a drunk driving accident, or they got hit
00:11:02.960 by a car, or just, you know, some freak accident, you know, so, like, my aunts and my uncles,
00:11:08.280 and stuff like that, you know, it makes, when things like that happen, you really start to
00:11:11.800 wonder, like, you know, what's gonna, what's after this?
00:11:16.020 Yeah.
00:11:16.280 You know, what's, what's to come?
00:11:17.560 And I really started getting concerned about, like, you know, my soul, kind of thing.
00:11:22.960 That's interesting, my similar story is where I had a lot of people who were like, you
00:11:25.560 know, commit suicide, pass away, and that, yeah, that gives you a big reflection
00:11:31.360 of that, you need to change. Okay, so, then what happened? Because there was a, one of
00:11:36.660 the brothers said that, they said that you want to take your shahad, or something like
00:11:40.280 that, I can't remember, did you, how did, how, how did, when did you realise and say, 0.96
00:11:43.520 look, this is the truth, I want to accept this damn, or, you know, and there's an amazing
00:11:47.280 story coming up as well, we're gonna come up, but, how did that happen? 0.96
00:11:50.620 Yeah, so, it's like I said, I found out all these things, like, I was amazed by it, like,
00:11:55.700 I was so infatuated with, you know, the whole culture, but it never dawned upon me,
00:11:59.600 like, like, like, to become Muslim, because for me, like, I don't know why, but in my
00:12:04.040 head, I was like, oh, like, this is for them, like, I'm like, oh, they're so lucky, like,
00:12:07.440 they have this, I wish I was that, but, so, I was still over at Save Mart, and then one
00:12:11.740 of the brothers here, Omar, mashallah, his family, may Allah continue to bless them, they
00:12:17.560 were, they were coming to the chair God stand again, and then, same thing, as-salamu alaykum,
00:12:23.000 how are you guys today? As-salamu alaykum, are you Muslim? And I was like, oh, no, 0.99
00:12:26.520 they're like, why not? I was like, oh, I don't know, I was like, I was like, oh, I
00:12:30.700 don't know, and then, they're like, oh, why don't you come over, we live just around the
00:12:34.160 corner, they say, what time are you off? I'm like, I'm off in an hour, like, oh, please,
00:12:37.900 please, come over, and I was like, oh, okay, like, you know, because I thought, like, man,
00:12:41.520 these people are so welcoming, like, of course, I'm not going to accept their invite, and
00:12:45.120 so, you know, before, when I got off, I was like, man, what do these people, like, like
00:12:49.420 to eat? So, I mean, I go, I go over to the deli section, like, let me get a plate
00:12:53.020 of hummus, and some bread, so I take it over to them, yeah, and some chickpeas, yeah,
00:12:58.580 some chickpeas, yeah, so I go over there, and then, so they sit down with me, and they
00:13:03.480 just start, you know, asking me questions, okay, like, what do you know, like, do you
00:13:08.100 have any questions, and they go, like, do you, like, what brought you here, and I'm
00:13:11.880 telling them all these things, and they're like, wow, you know so much, like, how come
00:13:15.220 you don't become Muslim, and I was like, I don't know, yeah, they're like, why don't 1.00
00:13:19.420 you come, like, come and take the shahada, and I was like, you people usually do it,
00:13:23.900 like, on Fridays, right, when there's more people there, and it was a Monday, and I was
00:13:27.440 like, I was like, I don't, I don't care to, like, wait for Friday, if I believe now, I'm
00:13:32.640 going to do it now, so we went, we went that night, yeah, and it was worship prayer, and
00:13:37.900 then when we came here, I prayed, and then, and I took the shahada, and then, from there
00:13:44.260 on, that's amazing, man, it just shows you, you know, some people are ready, they just
00:13:47.620 need a little push, yeah, that's amazing, man, and so, what's more beautiful, my shahada,
00:13:53.020 is that, like, the brothers would say that you would travel 40 minutes on your skateboard,
00:13:57.840 oh, yeah, so, what is that about, man, yeah, so, um, so at that time, my car had broken
00:14:02.040 down, and so I would, like, bike to work, and, uh, and bike, escape, or whatever I can
00:14:08.860 at the time, and then we had moved, because before, we used to live over by St. Mark, and
00:14:14.120 then we moved about a few miles by car, yeah, and so, this is, you know, when you first
00:14:19.420 start, you're on that hype, you, you want to keep researching and studying, yeah, um, so
00:14:24.000 I, I would be up watching, you know, Ahmadiyad videos, and all that, the merciful servant,
00:14:28.740 yeah, like, Islamic guidance, and all that, on YouTube, and until, like, 3 a.m., I'm like,
00:14:33.780 okay, Fajr, it's an hour and a half, if I leave now, I can make it, so I'll start walking,
00:14:38.360 and I'll start walking, I'm listening to Quran, or Adhan, I'm saying it out loud, while I'm 0.56
00:14:42.480 walking, and inshallah, I'll get there, like, in an hour or so, yeah, and then, sometimes,
00:14:46.400 I would walk in, and then, as soon as I'm walking onto the, onto the property, they're
00:14:51.020 leaving, I'm like, oh, and I have to turn around and walk back, yeah, but, uh, that's crazy,
00:14:56.560 that's crazy, man, what advice would you give to people out there who are maybe right now
00:15:00.100 watching this, and they're in the same stage as you are, and they're, you know, in two minds
00:15:04.280 about accepting Islam, taking the shahadah, um, first and foremost, don't be afraid to just,
00:15:09.620 uh, go talk to Muslims, you know, if you have, if you have any friends, or if there's an Islamic
00:15:15.820 center, uh, near you, um, like I said, most of the time, uh, you know, you're more than welcome,
00:15:22.220 yeah, anywhere, yeah, um, they're always willing to accept, uh, people to come and ask questions,
00:15:28.560 invite them in, inshallah, because, like, honestly, if it wasn't for that family, I probably would have
00:15:32.320 never, never took them to the shahadah, yeah, exactly, that's why that was so key, bro, and
00:15:35.920 sisters, uh, what's one thing that you love about Islam, like, one thing that you say, you know,
00:15:40.100 this, this is, it's absolutely beautiful, um, so one thing that I would like is, because before,
00:15:46.640 in, like, Catholicism, we would have to go to the church, right, and you would have to confess 0.56
00:15:50.920 to the priests, like, the little box and stuff, I like how there's no middleman, like, you don't
00:15:54.760 have to tell anyone your business, it's between you and your Lord, that's so powerful,
00:15:58.000 yeah, like, that's so deep, man, that's actually so deep, yeah, like, that's so deep, and you can,
00:16:03.740 like, you can be, like, anywhere, right, and, like, especially with the lectures, exactly,
00:16:07.300 you know, remember, like, if you're thinking, okay, I need to go to this specific place to repent,
00:16:11.140 do you get it, and, Allah, you can do it anywhere, do you get it, and, you know, Allah,
00:16:16.280 subhanahu wa ta'ala says that, if mankind was not to sin, I would destroy them and bring forth
00:16:20.960 another nation who would sin but repent, exactly, yeah, and what that shows is, it shows that Allah
00:16:25.220 saying we're going to sin, but acknowledge, this is very important, it's a matter of
00:16:28.700 tawheed, acknowledging, I have a Lord that's all forgiven, most merciful, that's a form
00:16:34.540 of tawheed, that's worship, that you're in, you're knowing, because that's why shaitan
00:16:37.920 comes and says, oh, you're a sinner, you're going to go and do this, he wants to put you
00:16:41.080 off of repenting, and repenting is not for everyone, you know, it's not for everyone,
00:16:45.880 it's something that Allah gives to him, exactly, does anything else you want to add on,
00:16:49.500 or, um, so the same thing, like, for, so for me, you know, I grew up in a little
00:16:54.520 rougher neighborhood, and stuff, so, you know, so, some people, not all reverts,
00:16:59.360 obviously, we come from different backgrounds, um, so, of course, there's things that sometimes
00:17:03.460 people might do to where, like, they regret, right, they feel like, for me, like, I didn't,
00:17:07.920 for me, I almost felt like, oh, for sure, I'm going to hell, like, there's, I've done so
00:17:11.140 many things, I've done this and that, yeah, and, you know, there's times where some things
00:17:14.700 that I've done, right, and then I just sit there contemplating, like, like, man, like,
00:17:19.720 there's, there's no hope for me, there's no way back, I really felt hopeless, because it
00:17:23.480 was a whole bunch of things, like, probably even, like, the year before I became Muslim,
00:17:27.880 yeah, so, like I said, uh, one of my close uncles had passed away, yeah, and then, uh,
00:17:32.320 one of my ex-girlfriends, who I was with for a while, like, we had broken up, so I was just
00:17:36.600 on a downhill, downhill slope, you know, I was getting really depressed, you know, I was
00:17:41.180 out there drinking, partying, I was trying to fill this void, yeah, you know, I could fill
00:17:45.240 it up, that it'd be temporary, you know, I'd fill it up for the night, out at the, at the
00:17:48.900 clubs, or anything, but then in the morning, it's back, you know, it's even worse, now I
00:17:53.460 have, now I'm depressed, and I have a headache, it's true, you're adding on to your problems,
00:17:58.240 exactly, you know, it was, and then now, like, I have, I have so much more to be grateful
00:18:03.920 for, so now, like, with Islam, the teachings, like, it's almost, it's hard to get depressed,
00:18:09.400 because, like, if something happens in my life, it could be worse, you know, the Prophet
00:18:13.960 said, look at those who are below you, instead of those who are above you, and you can appreciate
00:18:17.920 you, exactly, that's it, man, brothers and sisters, actually, this was a beautiful story,
00:18:23.080 mashallah, may Allah bless him, inshallah, we're in a beautiful state, California, and
00:18:27.720 we've got more to come up, come inshallah, we're going to set up a salam, California team,
00:18:31.400 yeah, till next time, subscribe, share, like, share with your friends and family, assalamualaikum
00:18:36.360 wa rahmatullahi wabarakatuh, from me, and LAPD, alright, alright, alright, alright, alright,
