00:00:00.000 Hi there!
00:00:19.000 Okay, Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, brothers and sisters and dear friends.
00:00:22.000 We're in front of Turnham Station. What are we doing here? We're not going anywhere.
00:00:25.000 We've come to the florist. Now Dawood is a Muslim brother, may Allah bless him inshallah.
00:00:29.000 He was a Christian before. So obviously you are aware of what happened in Sri Lanka.
00:00:33.000 And there was seven or eight explosions. Three or four of them were in churches
00:00:38.000 where people were celebrating Easter and innocent people died.
00:00:41.000 And obviously this reminds us of what happened at Christ Church.
00:00:44.000 And obviously what happened is sad. And as a Muslim community, we saw the love and the support that people gave us.
00:00:52.000 And I thought it's incumbent upon us that the least that we can do is show some kind of love back.
00:00:59.000 And to show them that this is not going to divide us.
00:01:01.000 There was a few churches that got blown up.
00:01:04.000 Oh yeah.
00:01:05.000 So basically we're going to be visiting some churches. We're Muslims.
00:01:07.000 But obviously you know what happened in Christ Church.
00:01:09.000 And so basically we're looking for some bunch of flowers.
00:01:11.000 We're looking for, we've got a budget around a hundred pounds.
00:01:15.000 It's probably better if you go inside the garden centre and up the stairs then you can talk to the girls up there.
00:01:19.000 They'll be able to maybe make some.
00:01:20.000 Oh can you make one?
00:01:21.000 Alright, thank you very much.
00:01:22.000 Thank you.
00:01:23.000 Okay so what we're going to do guys now, we're going to go upstairs and hopefully get some done.
00:01:30.000 Okay so basically, so the lady who's serving us, four, but she gave one free.
00:01:36.000 She said it's for a good cause.
00:01:37.000 So we're going to leave a link.
00:01:38.000 Do check her out inshallah.
00:01:39.000 You can come here.
00:01:40.000 Get your flowers from here.
00:01:41.000 That's very, really nice of her.
00:01:44.000 Okay.
00:01:45.000 Thank you very much.
00:01:53.000 Okay, thank you.
00:01:54.000 Okay, thank you.
00:01:55.000 Alright.
00:01:56.000 See ya.
00:01:57.000 Thank you, really appreciate it.
00:01:58.000 You're welcome.
00:01:59.000 Thank you.
00:02:00.000 Thank you very much.
00:02:01.000 Thank you.
00:02:02.000 Thank you very much.
00:02:03.000 Take care.
00:02:04.000 You too.
00:02:05.000 Have a nice day.
00:02:06.000 Bye bye.
00:02:07.000 Okay guys, so we have got the flowers.
00:02:08.000 What we're going to do now is we're going to go head to the car and we're going to search
00:02:21.000 for churches near us.
00:02:23.000 But before we do that, we're going to write some notes and write some nice, send a nice message
00:02:28.000 to them for the flowers.
00:02:29.000 So not only do the flowers smell nice, but hopefully what they read will be nice.
00:02:34.000 So follow us.
00:02:35.000 Follow us.
00:02:36.000 Okay guys, so basically we went to one of the church, it was closed, but we rang this up.
00:02:38.000 They're open.
00:02:39.000 We're going to go inside.
00:02:40.000 Follow us and let's see what happened.
00:02:41.000 We're going to go inside.
00:02:42.000 Follow us.
00:02:43.000 And let's see what happens.
00:02:44.000 Okay guys, so basically we went to one of the church.
00:02:45.000 It was closed, but we rang this up.
00:02:46.000 They're open.
00:02:47.000 We're going to go inside.
00:02:48.000 Follow us.
00:02:49.000 And let's see what happens.
00:02:50.000 Okay guys, so basically we went to one of the church.
00:02:51.000 It was closed, but we rang this up.
00:02:52.000 They're open.
00:02:53.000 We're going to go inside.
00:02:54.000 Follow us.
00:02:55.000 And let's see what happens.
00:02:58.000 Okay guys, so basically we went to one of the church.
00:03:02.000 It was closed, but we rang this up.
00:03:03.000 They're open.
00:03:04.000 We're going to go inside.
00:03:05.000 Follow us.
00:03:06.000 And let's see what happens.
00:03:10.000 So, I think it's the first time I've been in the church.
00:03:18.000 So, I think it's the first time I've been in the church.
00:03:26.960 Is it? Is it?
00:03:27.720 I think so, yeah.
00:03:31.380 Hi, dear.
00:03:32.840 Hi, sir.
00:03:35.520 No, no.
00:03:36.100 No.
00:03:36.360 No.
00:03:37.020 Yeah.
00:03:37.360 This is from us. We're an organization, but we're giving it on behalf of the Muslim community.
00:03:56.680 Basically, as you know, what happened in Sri Lanka.
00:03:59.600 Oh, thank you.
00:04:01.820 No, it's okay. So, we just wanted to say, you know, to show our support and that these people are not going to divide us.
00:04:08.180 I know they're trying to do that and it happened in Christchurch.
00:04:11.780 And sadly, these crazy people have done it as supposedly a revenge attack on their behalf because the Muslim community doesn't represent them and they don't represent us.
00:04:21.720 So, we just wanted to say, you know, just to take a time out. We came inside, we had a look, we was in there.
00:04:26.440 But I just wanted to say thank you.
00:04:28.480 Thank you. You'll always be my brothers.
00:04:31.200 Yes, thank you very much. And you will be our sister in humanity.
00:04:34.300 Thank you. Have a nice day.
00:04:35.320 Thank you.
00:04:35.780 Well, this is actually an act of kindness that we are, because of the attacks in Sri Lanka against the churches.
00:04:46.400 So, we are YouTubers online and what we do is, we happen to be Muslims, but we felt like, we felt compelled, in fact, to come to an community that is attached to the church to give our condolences.
00:04:59.400 Welcome to St. Michael's Church.
00:05:03.080 It's very beautiful.
00:05:05.460 Have you got the flowers on you?
00:05:07.420 Yeah, there.
00:05:08.200 There are camions taken around the other way.
00:05:10.300 Okay, sure.
00:05:11.060 So, we are in a Catholic church. This is, was built in the 1900s. These are all the church girls, as you can see. That's Anadha with the flowers.
00:05:21.240 Yeah. So, we're here. We've got three more churches, not masjids, to go to.
00:05:28.240 Let's go.
00:05:28.980 So, the reason we're doing this, obviously, you know, there was a Christchurch attack, and we, the Christian, the Jewish community as a whole, you know, there's short support to the Muslims.
00:05:45.840 And we want to do the same, because we know in Sri Lanka, attacks happen towards the churches in Nista. So, we found the need, because we come from an organization called Salaam, Sharing, Affection, Love and Mercy.
00:05:55.280 We just wanted to give these flowers, obviously, to you guys, but we'll leave it there. But after, you can hopefully smell them and put them somewhere there.
00:06:02.360 But we just wanted to thank you and just say that, you know, we're really sorry for what's happened, and hopefully this will not divide us, you know, and bring this course together.
00:06:09.420 Because these people's aims and objectives, they just want us to hate each other, and that's not going to happen. And we just want to say thank you for your time, and hopefully, if you can just, well, just go and put it, yeah, probably on the hope, you know, it says hope.
00:06:22.420 I'll probably put it on there, because it'll have more meaning there.
00:06:24.320 We need to dialogue with Christians, Jews, Sikhs, Hindus, whatever, whoever it may be. Yes, we have our differences, but also, that we have things that are in common as well.
00:06:34.920 And also, if I may add to this, if there's a video, whether the person is real or not, claiming to be from ISIS, using Nasheed and Quran in the background, and then putting his finger in the air and saying,
00:06:48.460 and then after saying, we're going to kill all of you, what is out there to counter that? Because it's almost become like, oh, but the Christians should know.
00:06:58.560 Majority of Christians know, but you know what, sometimes the action speaks louder than words, and it really touches people.
00:07:04.700 When we go out of our way to do these things, it's symbolic, I get it, but nevertheless, it has to happen.
00:07:11.100 Shall I tell you why? I'll give you a very fine example. When the Prophet, peace be upon him, when he passed away, Umar ibn Qattab, what did he say? He was very angry.
00:07:19.280 And listen carefully. Abu Bakr radiallahu anhu said, anyone that worshiped Muhammad, know that he is dead.
00:07:24.900 And those who have passed away, and know that whoever is worshipping Allah, he is the ever-living.
00:07:30.820 And he quoted a verse from the Quran, yeah, that messengers before that passed away, are you going to turn back on your heels?
00:07:36.020 Do you know what's more profound about this? When the Sahaba heard this, Abdul ibn Abbas, if I'm not mistaken, said that all of them acted like they never heard this verse, ever.
00:07:46.080 Because reminder benefits a believer. So like you said, oh, the Christians, they might think, no, reminder benefits a believer.
00:07:51.460 Yeah, you have to remind them, you have to remind them, sure.
00:07:54.000 Yeah. So yes, we're going to leave this here. As you can see, the words hope, and hopefully we can, hopefully we can have hope in humanity and one another, and not let people divide us.
00:08:12.840 The doors open, that's always a good sign. Open door is a welcoming home, they say. I just made that up.
00:08:25.400 I think that's how they, wow, it's a service.
00:08:31.520 My name is Dawood. Nice meeting you.
00:08:33.700 George and Michael.
00:08:35.320 Yeah.
00:08:35.520 So we are here to give our condolences to what happened in Sri Lanka, and it was Christians, our brothers in humanity, who got attacked.
00:08:49.360 We're from the Muslim community, and we felt like compelled to increase our interaction with our Christian brothers in humanity,
00:08:57.200 I think, just because of, there's a small group of people, who are causing a lot of division, and taking harmony away, so we're here on behalf of the Muslims, to say.
00:09:07.040 Thank you very much.
00:09:07.600 Thank you very much.
00:09:08.480 Thank you.
00:09:08.880 Thank you.
00:09:08.920 Thank you.
00:09:09.000 Thank you very much.
00:09:09.720 Thank you.
00:09:09.800 Thank you.
00:09:10.320 Thank you.
00:09:10.360 Thank you.
00:09:13.760 Brothers and sisters, we have gone to five different churches, give them flowers, had discussions with them, it was amazing.
00:09:20.800 I want to recite Surah Imran, verse 113, where Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says,
00:09:25.040 That not all of them are alike. Among the people of the book there are those who are steadfast,
00:09:53.920 they recite the verses of Allah in the right hours, and they prostrate themselves.
00:09:58.320 Now, we cannot compare the Christians, what happened at Christ Church, a man who claimed he was a Christian,
00:10:08.400 to people who are peaceful Christians. We cannot. And Allah is telling us,
00:10:13.360 Yes, these people, they are not the same. They are some who worship Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
00:10:18.240 Now, by doing this, we wanted to show people as well, also, that as Muslims, there are good and bad.
00:10:24.560 We do not come and say, okay, black people are all gangsters. Yeah?
00:10:30.480 Christians are all paedophiles. Muslims are all terrorists. Yeah?
00:10:34.880 We do not go and generalize. We just want to show the importance of coming together and conveying the message.
00:10:41.360 And we have to. Now, we are not in no way, shape or form saying that we found a solution now.
00:10:44.720 We've given some flowers. Hooray! Put us on the back. Yep, well done. No, no, no, no, no.
00:10:49.280 We've made a solution. No. But it is a step in the right direction.
00:10:52.800 And this is what we have to do. We need to carry on giving da'ala.
00:10:55.920 Because if we don't, and we're just quiet, and we're just like robots, we don't do nothing, what's going to happen is people's misconceptions are going to grow.
00:11:02.880 Yeah. And also, what I wanted to say is, especially as someone who has grown around Christian culture,
00:11:13.200 I understand that, you know, when you don't engage, when there's no engagement at all.
00:11:20.960 Yeah. And like you were saying before, there are certain people who are going to say, oh, look at these Kumbaya type of Muslims.
00:11:27.800 Yeah. Hold on, yeah.
00:11:28.720 Like flowers, it's just a symbolic meaning. Yeah.
00:11:34.480 But the gesture, I think, is very important.
00:11:36.480 But what I find shocking today, or actually mesmerizing at the same time, is what we heard from those people.
00:11:44.320 Oh, yes, yes, yes.
00:11:45.120 What they were saying to us, how unexpected it was.
00:11:50.000 Because, you know, let's face this, I think a lot of it as well, went over the head of other people.
00:11:55.280 Because Sri Lanka is so far away.
00:11:56.800 Yes.
00:11:57.560 Like, it wasn't as much.
00:11:59.160 We only case it in the Western, you know, the Western world.
00:12:01.240 I wouldn't say that, but it wasn't as...
00:12:03.360 No, but it's true.
00:12:03.860 Yeah, but it was not as much in the media, people were like, not shared, like, it was not a topic like Notre Dame.
00:12:10.780 For example, I saw like, there was a statistic that when Notre Dame happened in Sri Lanka, that the churches online were seven times higher, seven to one, to the searches about what happened in Sri Lanka.
00:12:24.200 And it shows you where the relevancy is.
00:12:26.540 So I think people, basically, were quite surprised that we came, and it really hit them, you know, emotionally and spiritually.
00:12:35.400 And I think that's very important to do these things, even these small things, it's important, like, to do them.
00:12:40.100 However, we can't not bank on them.
00:12:42.620 We can't not bank on symbolism.
00:12:44.200 There has to be an anticipation that these things are continuing to happen.
00:12:49.840 So people, Muslims, Muslim female, women, especially Christians, we have to be very vigilant.
00:12:57.760 And being vigilant does not mean only in terms of you being protected, but vigilant being also in terms of having your ear out.
00:13:06.740 Because there are small fractions of people who are causing these divisions, and you don't need millions of extremists on both sides to cause damage.
00:13:15.440 You need a small amount.
00:13:16.860 So being vigilant also means to reject extremist talks from the far right, for example, who will exploit this situation and say, well, look, again, the Muslims, that's why the Christchurch guy was justified to do it.
00:13:31.480 And I understand that it's a lot of angry white male or angry Westerners and have resentment for what happened in the West.
00:13:39.320 But I think tit for that and eye for an eye, in this case, it's not going to solve the issue.
00:13:45.060 You have to be more introspective and proactive.
00:13:48.960 And I feel like this, yeah, I don't know.
00:13:51.080 It's a step forward, yeah.
00:13:52.040 And I just want to wrap up, brothers and sisters.
00:13:54.480 Thank you guys for watching, inshaAllah.
00:13:56.200 This is from Salaam, inshaAllah, sharing affection, love and mercy.
00:13:59.040 To support our organisation, there's going to be a link at the description box.
00:14:01.380 Below, inshaAllah, do help us however you can, inshaAllah, share this with your friends and family, inshaAllah, and hate is not going to divide us.
00:14:09.400 And you're going to see this, inshaAllah, for yourself.
00:14:11.560 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
