When Allah gives you a chance to do something good, don t miss it. Allah blesses you with it and gives it back to the other person. This reminds me of a story that happened to my brother on Christmas Day, and it just moved me to tears.

00:00:00.600 Recently there's his brother, he told us an incredible reminder, a story that happened to him
00:00:04.740 and it just moved me subhanAllah to tears and I thought I need to share this with you guys.
00:00:09.500 So basically what happened is that there's his brother, he went to the masjid on the 25th of December,
00:00:13.740 Christmas day, to spend some time just by himself.
00:00:15.960 We had some Quran, made dua, and now he's in like a really good place and he leaves the masjid
00:00:19.560 and as soon as he steps outside, he sees a poor guy waiting for him.
00:00:23.260 And he gets annoyed, he's like, oh man, this guy is like literally waiting for me to harass me.
00:00:28.460 And the poor guy came up to him, asked him for some money and his brother said,
00:00:31.960 you know what, I'm not going to give you any money but I'll buy you some food.
00:00:35.360 Fair enough.
00:00:36.340 However, every restaurant was actually closed because it's Christmas day.
00:00:39.260 Apart from one, he said, which is so expensive, he doesn't even take his own family there,
00:00:43.140 let alone feed somebody else there.
00:00:45.400 So he looked at his wallet, it was only 20 pound notes.
00:00:48.180 He thought, oh, that's too much to give.
00:00:49.540 So he took a 20 out and he gave it to the brother, this guy, this poor guy,
00:00:52.800 and he said to him, look, go in that restaurant and buy yourself something small to eat
00:00:56.240 and give me the change.
00:00:57.140 So anyway, what happened is that now this poor guy goes inside the restaurant
00:01:00.760 and he doesn't come back out again.
00:01:02.540 And the brother's getting really frustrated.
00:01:04.100 It's like, first he took my money and now he's wasting my time.
00:01:06.380 He's all, see, because I went inside the restaurant, stormed in,
00:01:08.940 like fully intending to have an argument.
00:01:10.700 And I see that poor guy sitting on the table with a whole spread of food in front of him,
00:01:15.680 all these dishes, and he's tucking in.
00:01:17.940 And I got quite mad and I said to him, look, you told me you're going to meet me outside
00:01:22.160 with my money, or the change at least.
00:01:24.200 What are you doing here?
00:01:25.700 He just lifted up his hands and said, here's your 20 pound, brother.
00:01:28.840 The guy behind the counter, he's an owner, and he saw that I'm poor and he said,
00:01:33.340 whatever you want, take it for free.
00:01:36.120 So here's your 20 pound back.
00:01:37.780 Now the brother, he got happy.
00:01:40.040 He thought, oh, well, I've got my 20 pound back.
00:01:41.840 It's like I gave Sadaqah and got it back straight away.
00:01:44.500 He comes home to his wife, says, look, just like the Prophet said, 0.94
00:01:47.540 Sadaqah doesn't decrease your wealth.
00:01:49.660 I gave this 20, this is what happened, and I got it back straight away.
00:01:52.560 Isn't that amazing?
00:01:53.880 His wife said, not really.
00:01:56.020 That's not how it went down.
00:01:57.600 See, what really happened is that Allah gave you an opportunity to give Sadaqah, 0.60
00:02:02.880 and you frowned at that opportunity.
00:02:05.260 So Allah took that opportunity and gave it to that other person, 0.97
00:02:08.460 the owner of the restaurant.
00:02:09.860 As for your 20 pound, Allah took it back and threw it back in your face. 0.94
00:02:14.120 Subhanallah.
00:02:14.520 Now when the brother's saying that, he starts to tear up,
00:02:17.320 and he's like, you know what, I learned a lesson that day.
00:02:19.640 And the lesson was, if ever Allah gives you a chance to do any opportunity of good,
00:02:24.780 even if it's small like this, never turn it down.
00:02:28.480 Always do it willingly and thankfully.
00:02:32.700 May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala give us tawfiq. 0.99
