Ali Dawah - PROPHETS MESSAGE TO ENGLAND LOSING PENALTIES

00:00:00.000 How can we have so many devices with so many apps which help us monitor our progress for our body

00:00:04.660 but none for the soul? Well the Qur'anly app is about to show you your progress with your soul.

00:00:10.140 Yes that's correct. Not only does it encourage you to read, it tells you how many verses you've

00:00:14.060 read, how many pages you read, how long you've been on it and best of all the Hasana counter.

00:00:18.500 Download the Qur'anly app now and have a Ramadan with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's book like you've

00:00:22.500 never had before. Before the video starts guys I've come together with Muslim made once again 0.98

00:00:26.060 to get clean water for families in Gaza. £105 can provide interrupted water to two families

00:00:33.040 for an entire year. Give even if it's £1 towards it.

00:00:39.560 Take five. All right go. Take five.

00:00:42.440 Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh brothers and sisters and dear friends.

00:00:45.700 Hope you guys are well inshallah the reason we're smiling is because it's our fifth take.

00:00:49.080 Hopefully this one will be right. So as you can see we've got new glasses.

00:00:51.660 Okay. Mashallah. We've also got some new stuff to tell you guys from the Prophet Muhammad.

00:00:55.440 Peace be upon him. Mashallah. Now how does the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam 0.53

00:00:58.560 is giving a direct message to the England team but specifically these three individuals

00:01:02.660 who took the penalty, who took the risk and went out there and put their neck on the line.

00:01:07.400 Sancho, Rashford, Saka. That's correct. These three individuals came up and they did what

00:01:13.240 no one would have wanted to do but it came at a cost. It could have come at a good price

00:01:19.720 but it came at a cost as well because who was their coach? Was it Gareth?

00:01:24.240 Gareth Southgate.

00:01:25.480 Gareth Southgate. So he at one point in his life missed a penalty as well, right?

00:01:28.940 Yeah. In fact, he was the scapegoat that from his time, that's when people started, it started

00:01:34.600 becoming a big thing. So he was like the kind of emblem for being blamed for missed penalties.

00:01:40.440 There you go. So it must be really like a nightmare for him to see or maybe try to prove a point.

00:01:46.200 He did good. He brought them to the finals, etc. However, people are not talking about him

00:01:51.880 bringing them to the finals. They're talking about him not winning the cup. And the same

00:01:56.860 with these free football players and maybe the England team as a whole. People are not

00:02:00.480 pleased with them. Now the question that we need to ask ourselves is the following. Why

00:02:04.640 are they not pleased with them? Because if you think about it, like we speak about, sometimes

00:02:07.460 we magnify our mistakes or the things that go wrong but we do not magnify our achievements

00:02:11.840 and we don't spend enough time celebrating them. Now the prophet, peace be upon him, said

00:02:16.700 and this is narrated by Aisha, the message of Allah, peace be upon him, said whoever seeks

00:02:22.920 the pleasure of Allah, God, by the displeasure of people, Allah will suffice him against the 0.99

00:02:28.140 people. Whoever seeks the pleasure of the people by the displeasure of Allah, Allah will 0.98

00:02:33.400 leave him to the patronage of people. Maybe there's a different word we can use. But basically

00:02:38.400 the people will not be pleased with them and Allah will not be pleased with them. Now in 0.53

00:02:41.660 this very instance, we do not know the connection with God Almighty. We do not know. However,

00:02:46.840 the point is very clear because I can kind of resonate to them in the context where in

00:02:51.200 Jahiriya, I would have to prove myself to a lot of people. And I felt like an absolute

00:02:56.100 slave and these people would never be happy with me. It's like making a wedding. I don't

00:02:59.780 know if you can be related to Asian weddings. The aunties and uncles are never going to be 0.80

00:03:03.060 happy. There's always going to be something too spicy, too sweet, too hot, too cold, too

00:03:08.940 bright, too dark. Yeah. So whatever you do, I've realized that no one is ever going to be

00:03:15.380 happy with you, Aki. Now with these people, you can see, forget not being happy. Someone

00:03:19.440 can say, you know what? Oh man, why does that happen? Forget that, man. This is outright

00:03:23.520 racism. It's like, look, don't thank me, but don't spit at me. Like, you know, don't insult

00:03:28.760 me at least. You know, I don't want you a fan, but at least don't come and insult me.

00:03:32.320 Now, one thing that I want to touch upon, brothers and sisters, very important. Brothers

00:03:35.400 and sisters, I've lived a Jahiriya life before I came to Islam and I had times where I wanted

00:03:40.040 to please people. Yeah. Okay. I wanted to prove my point to people and always try to please

00:03:46.300 them. Now, brothers and sisters, what I've realized is that you are never, ever going

00:03:49.600 to make people happy. And the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said, and Aisha

00:03:53.000 had narrated that he said, if you was to try to please people, if not, if you try to please

00:03:58.680 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, rather than the people, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will be happy 0.94

00:04:03.020 with you and the people will be happy with you. If you was to try to please the people

00:04:06.340 at the cost of pleasing Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, then neither Allah would be happy with 0.93

00:04:10.560 you and neither the people would be happy with you. Brothers and sisters, the Harif, in

00:04:13.180 I'm not sure who says that. And this is a message that we want to send through the Prophet

00:04:15.820 Muhammad, peace be upon him, to these free football players. You will never, ever make 0.99

00:04:19.860 anyone happy. Never, ever. Anyone that loves you is a conditional love. This goes to your

00:04:24.780 wife, this goes to your mum, dad, whoever it may be. There's conditional love. Yes, mum

00:04:29.920 and dad might be, not necessarily, but even to a certain point in the day of judgment, it's

00:04:33.820 peak times. So what we're saying, brothers and sisters, is that everyone loves you conditionally.

00:04:38.560 If you speak to someone and be like, oh yeah, like for example, let's say you're married

00:04:41.140 and like, you know, my in-law, my mother-in-law, let's say really loves me, not me, I'm talking

00:04:44.620 about someone else here, really loves you, yeah? But if you will start upset a daughter,

00:04:48.220 that's conditional. Now, or for example, you used to do something, or she's, whatever

00:04:53.500 it may be, there's always conditional love. Brothers and sisters, and this is a message

00:04:57.820 to every single one of us, don't please others, because wallahi, this is something that Allah

00:05:03.020 has placed in us. Like Allah says in the Quran, indeed with my remembrance to heart to find

00:05:06.580 peace. What that means is that's a metaphysical law Allah has put in place. When Allah says

00:05:10.560 sadaqah doesn't make you poor, that's a metaphysical reality. It's not something you can

00:05:15.080 touch. How could giving not make you poor? If you logically think you give, it doesn't

00:05:19.500 make you poor. How can not giving not make you poor? This is a metaphysical reality Allah 0.99

00:05:23.600 is talking about, that's not empirical that you have to believe in. The same goes with

00:05:28.600 this. Allah has put in place that no one will ever be pleased with you, period. It's like 0.86

00:05:35.420 a code. It's like, you know where you put code and be like, the robot has to do this and

00:05:37.900 this. Like if you do this in a game, for example, if your player gets hit too many times,

00:05:42.520 it dies. It's been programmed like that. That doesn't change. If you get hit, you're

00:05:45.940 going to die. It's not going to be like, hit, hit, you're not going to, unless you do cheat

00:05:48.080 of course. But the point is this, Allah has set that in place, meaning that no one, whatever

00:05:53.520 at the, if it's especially at the cost of Allah, by necessity and it's asal, is that

00:05:58.740 they're never going to be happy with you. And now that is actually a blessing. Why? Because

00:06:02.920 now when you realize and say, for example, I've done this and this for that person, but

00:06:06.260 he threw it back in my face. I went and did this, this and this for this person and

00:06:09.780 they let me down. You know, you get some people like, you know what? I'm going to treat everyone

00:06:12.640 like crap. And that's the next thing you go to. Why? Because you've had so much bad 1.00

00:06:18.340 experience. You're like, you know what? Forget this now. I've tried being nice to everybody

00:06:21.540 and people are just walking all over me. Bun them, innit? Bun them and bun everyone, yeah? 0.98

00:06:28.900 Now the point is this, what does, what should that make one realize? That should make one

00:06:33.600 realize, hold on a second. There must be someone that I could love that loves me unconditionally.

00:06:38.340 And if I please him, that there is nothing but goodness. And that's Allah, period. So 0.84

00:06:44.440 what Allah's done is via this metaphysical law is telling you, they're never going to

00:06:48.440 be happy with you. And the fact that they're going to let you down is to push you. It's

00:06:52.100 up to you to push you closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. So you can say, you know what,

00:06:55.220 man, I've tried, please. And I'll be honest with you, I can try this, that, and I thought,

00:06:58.900 you know what? Forget that. Once I freed myself from the people and I said, I don't care.

00:07:03.200 Yeah. And that's why, Aki, before, like I said before, I've done pictures. I tell people

00:07:07.560 I do Uber. I drive to her to Prius, yeah? Some people might be like, oh, man, come on,

00:07:11.520 you're Ali Dawo, you know. And I'm like, no. Because I love that freedom to go and say,

00:07:16.100 you know what, bruv, I drive to her to Prius. Or for example, I drive a bike. I drive a bike.

00:07:19.480 You know what? I've got shoes and they've got holes in it. Have you seen my trainers?

00:07:22.600 Yeah. Not that kind of fooling. Let's not get to someone.

00:07:23.980 I was poking them.

00:07:25.300 You was poking them. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I walk, the point is not, I'm not saying go walk around

00:07:28.980 with things. The point is this. I don't care what anybody says, Aki. I freed myself from

00:07:33.580 the people. And I'm not saying I'm super righteous. What I'm trying to see is the sweetness.

00:07:38.160 I am, I don't tell. I'm just trying to be humble here, yeah?

00:07:40.120 Okay.

00:07:40.640 I don't, I'm not trying to be humble. The point is this, yeah? Is that the sweetness you feel,

00:07:45.420 Aki, that you don't give a damn. He thinks that of me. Aki, I don't care. Do you know what

00:07:50.700 kind of a freedom that is, Aki? Do you know how liberating that is to know that you can come

00:07:55.360 out and you're covered in the hijab or the jibab for the sake of Allah and you don't give a damn 0.95

00:07:58.720 off. I might look ugly. I need to get my lips filled. I need to get my backside filled. 0.99

00:08:03.080 I need to get hair filled. And the brothers have to go get this done. Some brothers in

00:08:05.980 Germany, they're plucking their eyebrows. No, no, no, sisters, the brothers are plucking 0.96

00:08:09.840 their eyebrows, yeah? The point is this, you will taste the sweetness of Iman. So with this,

00:08:17.740 what, have you had, have you ever had experience like this? And what advice would you give to

00:08:22.060 the free football, these free individuals that you mentioned? Because this is a very important

00:08:27.720 thing. Because when one attaches their heart, why is it important for one to focus on pleasing

00:08:33.840 God Almighty rather than focusing on pleasing people?

00:08:37.280 That's a very good point. No, Ali, I've never had that experience for playing for England and

00:08:42.080 taking a penalty and missing the penalty. I've never had that experience in my life. But

00:08:49.220 the principle remains the same, whatever the situation that we're in. And the principle,

00:08:56.780 it reminds me of the father, the son and the donkey.

00:09:00.680 Oh, right. I never, I don't know. Who's that?

00:09:02.560 You probably do know. Yeah?

00:09:04.000 There's one thing really bugging me though. There's a giant finger mark on your left, on

00:09:08.900 your right lens.

00:09:09.600 It's my fingerprint. It's identifying.

00:09:11.720 Can we just get it cleaned?

00:09:12.700 Okay, why are you talking? I'll do that. Let me see.

00:09:14.500 Yeah, on the right.

00:09:15.000 Oh, there it is. Carry on, carry on.

00:09:16.800 Yeah, so there's a...

00:09:18.120 My bad breath will kill it straight away. It might break the glasses.

00:09:23.140 Oh, it's cracking.

00:09:24.380 Oh, al-zabillah. 0.98

00:09:25.460 Yeah, carry on. 0.56

00:09:26.300 So there's a father, there's a son, and there's a donkey. First, the father sits on the donkey

00:09:31.540 and the son rides alongside the donkey.

00:09:33.900 Oh, yes, yes, yes.

00:09:34.620 And then people say, look how disrespectful the son is.

00:09:37.080 Yeah, yeah. 0.69

00:09:37.740 That his father's on the donkey. Then, I'm just going to abridge it quickly.

00:09:40.920 Then, then the father is walking and the son is on there.

00:09:45.320 Yeah.

00:09:45.640 Did I say that already?

00:09:46.940 Yeah.

00:09:47.540 Yeah, then the son is on there. Then they're like, look how, look how spoiled the child is.

00:09:53.200 That the father's walking and the son's on the donkey.

00:09:55.780 Yes.

00:09:56.200 Then they both get off the donkey.

00:09:58.160 Then they're like, look, no one's making the most of this donkey.

00:10:01.880 Like, it's pointless.

00:10:02.540 And when they're both on it, they say, oh, they have no mercy on the animal.

00:10:04.500 They have no mercy on the animal.

00:10:06.000 Then the father gets angry.

00:10:07.600 Then he puts the donkey on his back.

00:10:09.240 And then he's like, maybe people are going to be happy now.

00:10:13.000 Then he walks past a few more people. 0.91

00:10:14.700 Look how crazy this guy is. 0.99

00:10:15.960 He doesn't even know how to make the most of this donkey. 0.99

00:10:18.040 That's very true.

00:10:18.580 So you're never going to be able to please people.

00:10:21.300 But the thing with, like you said very, very well.

00:10:24.300 And the thing is, sometimes as footballers or people that are in a certain career, we get consumed by just building.

00:10:33.640 Yeah.

00:10:33.760 Like you said, we don't celebrate.

00:10:35.100 We're like, OK, we need to get scouted.

00:10:37.560 OK, we got scouted.

00:10:38.580 Now we need to get selected for a team.

00:10:40.260 OK, we got selected for a team.

00:10:41.280 Now we need to get for the national team.

00:10:42.760 OK, now we need to win this cup.

00:10:45.920 Then we need to now be selected for this.

00:10:48.080 There's always going to be achievements.

00:10:49.480 And I'm sure as football players, you guys are no strangers to this.

00:10:52.700 But the key message and the takeaway here is racism.

00:10:57.160 What does Islam say about racism?

00:10:59.220 The Prophet ﷺ's last speech.

00:11:01.620 Of course, his life is absolutely covered with issues in which he cut racism from the root.

00:11:09.280 In fact, Muslims enter any masjid, go to any mosque and you will see people standing shoulder to shoulder.

00:11:14.900 In any salah, regardless of a king or a pauper, a black man or a white man, you get no priority based upon your race, who you're praying with or who you're being led by. 0.50

00:11:27.940 It depends only on your deeds.

00:11:30.360 Only on your deeds.

00:11:31.720 It doesn't matter about your race.

00:11:34.200 Islam doesn't give superiority of races, of money and stuff like this.

00:11:40.440 The only superiority that you'll get is your deeds.

00:11:43.160 You could be a football player.

00:11:44.760 However, if there's a farmer that's doing more deeds than you, then he is better than you in the sight of Allah.

00:11:50.340 You could be a footballer.

00:11:51.900 You're doing all of this, but you're giving in charity.

00:11:54.700 You're obeying Allah as he ought to be obeyed.

00:11:57.780 You're then better than other people as well.

00:12:00.660 So the point is, no matter what situation you're in, don't forget your Lord because your Lord will keep you grounded.

00:12:07.160 That should be your yardstick in life.

00:12:08.780 If your yardstick is England fans, you know, we've seen the England fans.

00:12:14.040 They will abandon you if you don't get the penalties.

00:12:16.140 Exactly what Mesut Erzal said.

00:12:17.840 Yeah, when I score, I'm a German.

00:12:19.600 When I miss, then I'm an immigrant.

00:12:21.600 Yeah, you guys saw this as well, the way you were tossed aside.

00:12:24.480 And this is the thing when you put your reliance on the people.

00:12:27.900 Yeah, the people, they just need from you.

00:12:30.500 Yeah, and sometimes even our families can fall within that as well.

00:12:34.220 But the only one that doesn't need anything from us.

00:12:36.540 You tell any human, you're a great person, I'm a brother, I'm nothing.

00:12:39.760 But when you say this to Allah, oh Allah, you're great.

00:12:43.640 Then Allah says, yes, yes, yes, I'm great.

00:12:46.440 Humbleness is not befitting of Allah. 0.99

00:12:49.300 Yeah, so that's why when it comes to relationship and putting our hope and our trust and stuff like this,

00:12:55.880 no matter where you are, if you're watching and you're a fan, the same message for you.

00:12:59.760 If you're watching, you're a footballer, this message is for you as well.

00:13:03.580 That all of us, we need Allah, Allah doesn't need us. 1.00

00:13:07.120 And whichever, if you're a footballer, you have greater facilities.

00:13:11.300 Yeah, you have luxury, you have time that you can get and you can read the Quran.

00:13:16.600 Make that decision for yourself and you have many players, Leicester City, Hamza Chowdhury, Moussala, Pogba.

00:13:23.220 Yeah, we have a lot of high profile stars.

00:13:26.620 Speak to them, engage with them, discuss.

00:13:29.940 Yeah, you don't have to put everything in the public sphere, but please don't waste your life.

00:13:35.320 Yeah, and don't rely on these moments.

00:13:36.920 Yes, if England had won, you guys would be hailed as heroes.

00:13:40.520 But racism and people waiting for your next slip would still have been there.

00:13:46.600 Brothers and sisters, till next time.

00:13:47.780 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

00:13:50.100 After that beautiful advice, there's nothing else that needs to be said.
