Johnny Depp's comment about his mother is actually very similar to what the Quran says about a woman who complains about her husband and how he treats her. But what does it mean and does it go against the teachings of the Quran?

00:00:20.920 brothers and sisters and dear friends.
00:00:22.280 Johnny Depp, he said something which I was like,
00:00:24.040 wow, if he said this in a bit of a tweaked way in Islam,
00:00:26.880 it's actually amazing, it's haram.
00:00:28.560 It's really haram.
00:00:29.180 He said the following.
00:00:30.380 You start to slowly realise that you are in a relationship
00:00:33.360 with your mother, in a sense.
00:00:38.160 So before I start, obviously guys,
00:00:39.900 as you guys know with Muslim aid
00:00:40.880 and trying to raise 500,000 males inshallah,
00:00:43.220 we're nearly close to our target.
00:00:44.580 Please please check down the link in the description box below
00:00:46.320 and donate whatever you can inshallah.
00:00:47.880 Let's get on with this video.
00:00:49.020 But he said basically that he used to get abused
00:00:51.140 from his mum when he was young,
00:00:52.600 physically getting beaten up, etc.
00:00:54.500 And at one moment he says, you know what?
00:00:56.320 I felt like I was married to my mother, you know?
00:00:58.580 So, and I did check with my teachers, etc.
00:01:00.660 It doesn't fall into what is mentioned in Surah Mujadila.
00:01:03.440 Now in Surah Mujadila, guys, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala 0.88
00:01:05.620 is talking about a woman who's,
00:01:09.180 like what he said,
00:01:10.380 if he was worded like this,
00:01:11.400 it can be haram actually.
00:01:12.400 You know, Islamically, as Muslim men,
00:01:13.640 we are not allowed to say the statement 0.94
00:01:15.140 that you are like the back of my mother. 0.92
00:01:17.500 Meaning, I see you like my mother.
00:01:19.100 I know, I don't want ever any relationship with you.
00:01:21.780 This is something really, really severe.
00:01:22.880 So what Johnny Depp said,
00:01:23.880 if he was tweaked a bit in the right way,
00:01:26.120 the intentions are,
00:01:26.860 if he was a Muslim,
00:01:27.780 this is actually haram to say.
00:01:29.040 And you know what?
00:01:29.720 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in the Quran,
00:01:30.900 there's a whole story about this,
00:01:31.660 about a woman actually,
00:01:32.340 this is very profound,
00:01:33.220 that came to the Prophet,
00:01:34.060 sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
00:01:35.040 and complained about her husband,
00:01:36.800 that she said something,
00:01:37.500 he said something that was really heartbreaking to her.
00:01:39.760 He just said something,
00:01:41.320 like he said, 0.92
00:01:41.900 you are like the back of my mother, 0.96
00:01:42.820 and that was so hurtful to her. 0.89
00:01:44.240 When she came,
00:01:44.980 there was no revelation.
00:01:46.400 And the Prophet, peace be upon him,
00:01:47.220 obviously tried to advise her the best he can,
00:01:49.700 and when she left,
00:01:50.440 the revelation came down.
00:01:51.400 And look what Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said
00:01:52.640 to the defense of the woman.
00:01:55.180 And similar to what Johnny Depp said,
00:01:56.420 but not exactly.
00:01:58.120 Certainly Allah has heard the speech of the woman 1.00
00:02:00.040 who argues,
00:02:01.100 pleading with you,
00:02:01.680 on Muhammad,
00:02:02.400 concerning her husband,
00:02:03.720 and directs her complaint to Allah.
00:02:05.460 And Allah hears your dialogue.
00:02:06.760 Indeed, Allah is all hearing, all seeing.
00:02:08.180 Those who pronounce Zihar amongst you,
00:02:12.040 to separate from their wives, 0.98
00:02:13.100 meaning saying, 0.83
00:02:14.000 you are like the back of my mother, 0.86
00:02:15.460 they are not their mothers.
00:02:17.240 Their mothers are none,
00:02:17.980 but those who gave birth to them.
00:02:19.360 And indeed,
00:02:19.860 they are saying an objectionable statement,
00:02:21.860 and falsehood.
00:02:22.680 But indeed,
00:02:23.280 Allah is pardoned and forgiven. 0.83
00:02:24.820 And those who pronounce,
00:02:26.380 say that, Zihar,
00:02:27.760 that you are like the back of my mother, 0.94
00:02:29.380 from their wives,
00:02:30.160 and then wish to go back on what they said,
00:02:32.200 so if they said something,
00:02:33.620 and they want to now take their wife back for intimacy,
00:02:35.520 or whatever it may be,
00:02:36.380 Allah says,
00:02:36.800 no, you cannot do that.
00:02:39.020 Unless then,
00:02:40.040 they must be the freeing of a slave,
00:02:41.440 before they teach,
00:02:42.440 before they touch one another.
00:02:43.740 So the man has to free a slave.
00:02:45.700 That is the way of admonish thereby.
00:02:49.160 And Allah is aware of what you do.
00:02:50.620 So now,
00:02:51.140 this man didn't have a slave.
00:02:52.440 The woman said,
00:02:52.920 look,
00:02:53.080 my husband doesn't have a slave to give.
00:02:54.860 The next one,
00:02:55.520 the next kind of punishment.
00:02:56.800 And if he does not have a slave,
00:02:58.080 then fast two consecutive months.
00:03:00.800 That man has to fast two months,
00:03:02.620 plus Ramadan,
00:03:03.520 three months,
00:03:04.300 for the word that he uttered,
00:03:05.760 before they touch one another.
00:03:07.580 And then the woman said, 0.98
00:03:08.420 look,
00:03:08.620 my husband's old,
00:03:09.420 if he fasts,
00:03:10.000 he's going to die.
00:03:11.480 And he said,
00:03:11.940 and who is unable,
00:03:12.780 if he's unable,
00:03:13.920 then he should be feeding 60 poor people.
00:03:16.640 And then the woman said, 0.98
00:03:17.800 he's broke,
00:03:18.720 he doesn't have the money.
00:03:20.140 That some narration didn't say that,
00:03:21.420 she ended up paying on his behalf.
00:03:23.080 Yeah,
00:03:23.400 that is for you to believe completely in Allah,
00:03:25.380 and his messenger.
00:03:26.380 And those are the limits set by Allah.
00:03:27.820 And for the disbelief,
00:03:28.500 it's a painful punishment.
00:03:29.760 So guys,
00:03:30.600 you can see here clearly,
00:03:31.640 subhanAllah,
00:03:32.480 how some people accuse,
00:03:34.000 yo,
00:03:34.260 Muslim man,
00:03:34.920 you know,
00:03:35.140 apparently I'll come home,
00:03:35.780 I have a big stick,
00:03:36.580 and I'll go to my wife,
00:03:37.160 you see that stick, 1.00
00:03:37.620 I'm going to beat you with that stick. 1.00
00:03:38.780 And we treat our wives very badly. 0.98
00:03:40.400 And you know,
00:03:41.020 here's a verse,
00:03:41.980 coming to defend the right of a woman,
00:03:43.680 and saying,
00:03:44.420 why?
00:03:44.760 Because a man hit her,
00:03:46.580 punched her,
00:03:47.720 slapped her, 0.95
00:03:48.800 swore at her?
00:03:49.780 No.
00:03:50.340 Just because he said, 0.93
00:03:51.420 you are like the back of my mother. 0.94
00:03:54.020 And look at all these free things,
00:03:56.780 that's mentioned,
00:03:57.860 for you,
00:03:58.520 for a man to do,
00:03:59.980 as a punishment.
00:04:01.500 And I thought what Johnny Depp said,
00:04:02.780 kind of related to this,
00:04:03.760 that's all I wanted to say,
00:04:04.540 how beautiful Islam is,
00:04:05.720 that gives the rights,
00:04:06.800 to the woman,
00:04:07.320 based on what she needs,
00:04:08.320 and the rights to a man,
00:04:09.280 based on what he needs.
00:04:10.300 Till next time.
00:04:10.860 As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
00:04:12.480 If you want to watch the full video,
00:04:14.660 with me discussing Johnny Depp,
00:04:16.740 and Amber's situation of conflict,
00:04:18.500 and what the Quran and Sunnah says,
00:04:19.860 check the next video inshaAllah.
00:04:21.280 May Allah bless you guys.
00:04:22.020 As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
00:04:23.940 As-salamu alaykum wa barakatuhu.
00:04:25.840 May Allah bless you.
00:04:27.100 I've been all linked up by the time.
00:04:27.840 We're back to have a laughter.
00:04:28.280 Thank you.
