Ali Dawah - STORY OF HARSH MUSLIM MAN & HIS KIDS ｜｜ MUFTI MENK & MOEEN ALI

00:00:00.000 I am going to discuss two topics which I see

00:00:29.400 that there is a trouble in the ummah

00:00:31.500 you kind of touched up on it

00:00:34.220 but it is a reminder you gave us yesterday

00:00:35.880 if you remember when I was speaking

00:00:37.920 young zealous brothers

00:00:40.140 they always come to the religion 0.98

00:00:43.000 and you come full force

00:00:45.500 and sometimes they want to do good

00:00:47.740 and I have no doubt

00:00:48.540 most of them they have this correct intention

00:00:50.320 of doing things the right way

00:00:51.440 but however the harshness

00:00:53.680 the manners are really lacking

00:00:56.840 and unfortunately I speak to a lot of brothers as well

00:00:59.420 who are known in the YouTube as well

00:01:01.200 where they say my non-Muslim friends come to me

00:01:03.440 and say is this what you're part with

00:01:04.940 like is this what you go through

00:01:07.140 like you just made for example

00:01:08.540 one mistake on YouTube

00:01:10.300 and then you got this many attacks

00:01:12.060 like what advice would you give

00:01:14.520 and this question both of you

00:01:15.720 to these young brothers

00:01:17.480 how can they calm down a bit

00:01:19.460 and understand that

00:01:20.900 yes they're trying to enjoy good and forbid evil

00:01:23.260 but there is a time and a place

00:01:25.360 to do that thing at the right time

00:01:27.160 so what kind of advice would you give to the youth

00:01:30.120 both sisters and brothers out there

00:01:31.440 I think from

00:01:34.060 like I'm not in that much of a position

00:01:36.380 I don't really know that much about that

00:01:38.720 but for me it's

00:01:40.340 the manners and the character is so important

00:01:43.540 especially in front of the non-Muslims 1.00

00:01:45.080 that you know

00:01:46.040 even though you don't realise

00:01:48.320 sometimes they look at everything you do

00:01:49.800 even the way you dress

00:01:51.520 or you know

00:01:53.120 the way you talk

00:01:53.820 and you know

00:01:54.540 it's so important

00:01:56.060 from a Muslim point of view

00:01:58.520 that you

00:01:58.920 when you talk to the non-Muslims 1.00

00:02:00.220 that

00:02:00.380 or when you're even around

00:02:01.760 if you're walking out the room

00:02:02.660 that there's a

00:02:03.280 there's a sort of demeanour

00:02:04.760 and if you really

00:02:06.140 you know

00:02:06.760 want to show them the sunnah

00:02:08.200 and you know

00:02:09.320 things like that

00:02:09.880 then

00:02:10.140 a lot of the time

00:02:11.580 I know Islam tells us anyway 1.00

00:02:12.980 but you have to be on your best behaviour

00:02:14.120 most of the time

00:02:14.820 you know

00:02:16.000 even away from

00:02:16.940 when you're on your own

00:02:18.680 and things like that

00:02:19.340 so

00:02:19.620 you know

00:02:21.080 a lot of the guys

00:02:22.120 they look at us

00:02:23.040 there's a few of us

00:02:24.300 Muslim players now

00:02:25.220 in the side

00:02:26.100 Alhamdulillah

00:02:26.420 and when they look at us

00:02:27.760 we know that they are

00:02:28.720 not judging us

00:02:30.440 but they're just checking us out

00:02:31.540 to see what

00:02:32.180 what kind of people we are really

00:02:33.580 and things

00:02:34.020 and you know

00:02:34.840 over time

00:02:35.280 Alhamdulillah

00:02:35.680 they trust us

00:02:36.860 and you know

00:02:38.000 like I said earlier

00:02:38.640 we get involved with the

00:02:39.720 with the jokes

00:02:40.920 and things like that

00:02:42.160 and in most cases

00:02:43.740 we get involved with them

00:02:44.560 and they enjoy

00:02:45.960 enjoy the company

00:02:46.880 and a lot of them

00:02:47.500 will come up to us

00:02:48.260 and we didn't realise

00:02:48.900 you know

00:02:49.240 Muslims were

00:02:50.460 you know

00:02:51.020 quite a good laugh

00:02:52.260 at times

00:02:52.700 and I'm not saying

00:02:54.200 like I'm a great laugh

00:02:55.000 but I know

00:02:55.900 I know a lot of the guys

00:02:56.960 enjoy you know

00:02:58.120 our company

00:02:59.000 and things like that

00:03:00.000 and you spend so much time

00:03:00.820 with them

00:03:01.080 that you have to

00:03:02.460 be on your best behaviour

00:03:03.940 as much as you can

00:03:04.720 I think if I can add

00:03:08.960 that I appreciate

00:03:09.780 what Moeen has said

00:03:11.040 because he probably

00:03:12.360 gets a lot of flack

00:03:13.320 from the Muslims themselves

00:03:14.540 and what I want to say

00:03:15.680 look we're living

00:03:16.400 in an environment

00:03:17.360 that is not

00:03:18.380 an Islamic environment

00:03:19.480 you need to understand

00:03:20.640 you're living

00:03:21.580 in a multicultural

00:03:22.840 multi-religious

00:03:25.160 country

00:03:26.920 and you're just

00:03:28.400 one

00:03:28.880 of the so many

00:03:30.140 that exist

00:03:30.740 you need to fulfill

00:03:31.980 the rights of

00:03:32.880 everyone out there

00:03:34.340 and the problem is

00:03:35.680 we tend to forget

00:03:37.180 that there are

00:03:37.860 different types of people

00:03:38.980 we need to talk to them

00:03:40.500 in a positive way

00:03:42.180 go back to the sunnah 0.93

00:03:43.580 of the Prophet

00:03:44.120 sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:03:45.260 he always encouraged people

00:03:47.720 it was so positive

00:03:49.260 it was such a beautiful

00:03:50.440 encouragement

00:03:51.000 there was a time

00:03:52.100 when some people

00:03:52.700 came to his house

00:03:53.600 they found out

00:03:54.460 about his acts of worship

00:03:55.660 and they decided

00:03:56.680 that they want to act

00:03:57.820 or they want to fulfill

00:03:59.420 acts of worship

00:04:00.220 just like that

00:04:01.060 and so they became

00:04:02.220 strict on themselves

00:04:03.120 and the Prophet

00:04:03.660 sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:04:04.260 heard about how

00:04:05.080 one says

00:04:05.640 I'm not going to eat meat

00:04:06.940 the other one says

00:04:07.540 I'm not going to touch

00:04:08.320 my wife

00:04:08.800 the other one says

00:04:09.380 I'm going to fast

00:04:10.020 and so on

00:04:10.800 and when he addressed

00:04:12.460 the situation

00:04:13.260 he said you know

00:04:14.620 ma baalu aqwaamin 0.83

00:04:16.760 you know

00:04:17.240 what is it with people

00:04:18.580 who say this

00:04:19.400 and that

00:04:19.880 he didn't say

00:04:20.760 this man come here

00:04:22.020 that man you're doomed

00:04:23.080 this one here

00:04:23.720 you are like this

00:04:24.320 it's a weakness we have

00:04:25.800 he did not have that

00:04:26.800 we have this weakness

00:04:28.260 because

00:04:28.560 if there were more

00:04:30.200 than those three

00:04:30.920 they would all benefit

00:04:32.100 from this common term

00:04:33.600 that's being used

00:04:34.520 but if they were

00:04:35.920 if we had to use

00:04:37.740 the one term

00:04:38.460 we would actually

00:04:39.260 ignore the fact

00:04:40.440 that so many others

00:04:41.320 would benefit

00:04:41.960 and if we were to say

00:04:42.920 names

00:04:43.300 a lot of the times

00:04:44.340 people become

00:04:45.120 hard to say

00:04:46.440 what

00:04:46.760 what did this guy

00:04:47.520 say about me

00:04:48.140 I'm going to fix him

00:04:49.220 I'm going to show him

00:04:49.980 so your intention

00:04:51.060 needs to be right

00:04:51.880 knowledge

00:04:52.720 and this is a

00:04:54.180 controversial statement

00:04:55.200 knowledge comes

00:04:56.840 with a lot of arrogance

00:04:58.040 just like money

00:04:59.020 did you hear what I said

00:05:01.080 if you don't check it

00:05:03.040 you can be the most 0.99

00:05:04.180 arrogant person ever 0.98

00:05:05.300 because you know

00:05:05.900 you know

00:05:06.300 and you know

00:05:07.120 that you know

00:05:07.660 that you know

00:05:08.300 so you look at someone

00:05:11.480 and say

00:05:11.660 ah by the way

00:05:12.240 what do these guys know

00:05:13.000 nothing 0.84

00:05:13.380 they're not even Muslims 1.00

00:05:14.460 that's how it ended

00:05:15.560 because why

00:05:16.660 that was the knowledge

00:05:18.440 you had

00:05:18.820 arrogance

00:05:19.440 but when true knowledge

00:05:21.680 humbles you

00:05:22.360 when you practice

00:05:23.340 according to it

00:05:24.280 and you understand

00:05:25.440 I know of a certain brother

00:05:26.840 he was hard

00:05:28.200 he used to call people names

00:05:29.680 and take them out of the fold

00:05:31.080 and so on and so forth

00:05:32.060 Allah tested him 0.63

00:05:33.280 with his own children

00:05:34.120 leaving the fold of Islam 1.00

00:05:35.240 and then I happened

00:05:37.600 to chat with him

00:05:38.280 and I told him

00:05:38.760 brother you're so hard

00:05:39.620 and so he said

00:05:40.340 I've learned my lesson

00:05:41.200 I was pointing at everyone else

00:05:43.340 and Allah tested me

00:05:44.240 in my own home

00:05:44.980 so this is the challenge

00:05:46.900 this is what Allah

00:05:47.660 probably

00:05:48.180 made him

00:05:49.720 go through this

00:05:50.440 to realize

00:05:51.080 that he's being too hard

00:05:52.380 on everyone else

00:05:53.200 the Quran says

00:05:54.840 to Muhammad

00:05:55.660 sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:05:56.320 Allah says

00:05:56.840 walau kunta faddan

00:05:58.100 ghalidhal qalbi

00:05:59.600 lan faddu min hawlika

00:06:01.020 you know

00:06:01.680 if you were

00:06:02.380 hard harsh

00:06:03.780 hard hearted

00:06:04.760 and you had to be

00:06:05.820 hard in your wording

00:06:07.160 and in the way

00:06:07.920 you dealt with them

00:06:09.440 they would have dispersed

00:06:10.800 from around you

00:06:12.040 they would disperse

00:06:12.860 so this goes to show

00:06:14.160 today we need

00:06:15.180 a lot of convincing

00:06:16.840 we need to talk

00:06:17.740 to people

00:06:18.140 it's no longer

00:06:18.720 like a long time ago

00:06:19.520 we used to say

00:06:20.020 fulfill your salah

00:06:21.160 they say

00:06:21.480 okay okay

00:06:21.880 allahu akbar

00:06:22.520 no no

00:06:22.980 it's no longer

00:06:23.520 like that

00:06:23.980 now fulfill your salah

00:06:25.560 you can expect

00:06:26.700 a child to say

00:06:27.220 why

00:06:27.560 what do I have

00:06:28.440 in it

00:06:28.780 that's what's happening

00:06:30.040 you can't just slap 0.56

00:06:31.340 them like I told you 0.97

00:06:32.100 to slap me

00:06:32.640 no we still belong

00:06:33.640 to the previous generation

00:06:34.760 we will accept a slap

00:06:36.340 but they won't

00:06:37.380 they won't

00:06:38.120 so this is why

00:06:39.160 we need to be humble

00:06:40.040 I believe there is

00:06:40.820 great damage

00:06:41.600 when people become

00:06:42.700 a little bit popular

00:06:43.480 and they use

00:06:44.100 that popularity

00:06:44.740 to attack

00:06:46.000 rather than to build

00:06:47.140 remember this

00:06:47.920 I mean look at

00:06:48.980 what's happening

00:06:49.500 across the world

00:06:50.300 at the moment

00:06:50.780 we're struggling

00:06:51.360 because people

00:06:52.340 prefer to destroy

00:06:53.680 rather than to build

00:06:54.660 and they justify

00:06:56.440 it no matter what

00:06:57.700 and I always say

00:06:58.860 people say

00:06:59.360 what about these killings

00:07:00.600 I say we are against

00:07:01.500 all killings

00:07:02.460 no matter who

00:07:03.080 is perpetrating them

00:07:04.000 it's dangerous

00:07:04.860 it's detrimental

00:07:05.580 we prefer to build

00:07:06.720 to resolve the matter

00:07:07.900 to solve it

00:07:08.540 I'd rather sit with you

00:07:09.500 I'd rather try to do things

00:07:10.620 and people say

00:07:11.400 no ways

00:07:11.840 you don't know

00:07:12.240 what you're talking about

00:07:12.940 be consistent

00:07:14.040 continue in the right path

00:07:16.560 don't lose hope

00:07:17.960 when you know

00:07:18.680 be focused

00:07:19.680 and like I was telling you

00:07:21.440 yesterday

00:07:21.920 and a few of the brothers

00:07:23.000 who we were talking to

00:07:23.960 today

00:07:25.300 it's become

00:07:26.420 very difficult

00:07:27.920 to remain

00:07:28.620 on the moderate path

00:07:29.740 it's very easy

00:07:31.740 because we are being

00:07:32.880 bombarded from

00:07:33.760 two extremes

00:07:34.680 to actually fall

00:07:35.980 when you're doing

00:07:36.800 something right

00:07:37.560 and you're on

00:07:38.460 the moderate path

00:07:39.280 when I say

00:07:39.720 moderate path

00:07:40.300 I don't mean

00:07:41.100 you've given up

00:07:41.680 your deen

00:07:42.080 no

00:07:42.360 I mean

00:07:43.200 the way you

00:07:44.300 treat others

00:07:45.020 and the way

00:07:45.500 you carry yourself

00:07:46.520 the way you

00:07:47.000 look at others

00:07:47.620 how you want

00:07:48.220 to present

00:07:48.620 the deen

00:07:49.020 to them

00:07:49.380 so there are

00:07:50.340 people who bash

00:07:51.360 and they tell you

00:07:52.360 you're so wrong

00:07:53.300 until you bash

00:07:54.560 you've got to bash

00:07:55.540 just like we do

00:07:56.400 and if you just

00:07:57.260 remain focused

00:07:58.040 ignore

00:07:58.520 ignore

00:07:58.980 ignore

00:07:59.320 it's so difficult

00:08:00.400 to be on this

00:08:01.080 middle path

00:08:01.620 because on the other

00:08:02.660 hand there are

00:08:03.140 people who will

00:08:03.700 also call you

00:08:04.540 names

00:08:04.960 while you're on

00:08:05.680 the middle path

00:08:06.180 to sway you

00:08:07.100 that way

00:08:07.580 and my advice

00:08:08.760 neither sway

00:08:09.440 this way

00:08:09.880 nor that way

00:08:10.620 remain on the path

00:08:11.720 remain focused

00:08:12.480 keep on giving people

00:08:13.580 this hope

00:08:14.080 and inshallah

00:08:15.020 you will see

00:08:15.620 the result

00:08:16.240 by the will of

00:08:17.140 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala 0.81

00:08:18.100 look at these faces

00:08:19.080 look at these

00:08:19.840 beautiful people

00:08:20.980 why do you think

00:08:21.840 why do you think

00:08:21.860 they're here

00:08:22.360 all of them

00:08:23.520 are here

00:08:23.940 to be inspired

00:08:25.220 to get a good word

00:08:26.780 to feel like

00:08:27.680 Allah loves them

00:08:28.640 as they walk

00:08:29.540 out of here

00:08:30.080 to feel good

00:08:31.060 imagine if we had

00:08:32.120 to come here

00:08:32.620 and make them

00:08:33.280 feel like

00:08:33.820 they were already

00:08:34.600 going to hell

00:08:35.440 subhanallah 1.00

00:08:36.080 you know you guys

00:08:37.260 doomed

00:08:37.920 that's it

00:08:38.520 every one of you

00:08:39.820 watch out

00:08:40.500 you're gonna go

00:08:41.100 why should I even

00:08:42.260 say that

00:08:42.720 I prefer

00:08:43.860 especially in this

00:08:44.880 world

00:08:45.160 to choose

00:08:47.400 the prophetic

00:08:48.480 method of giving

00:08:49.400 people hope

00:08:50.200 and yes

00:08:51.000 there is a time

00:08:51.820 when warnings

00:08:52.720 do come through

00:08:53.340 if you notice

00:08:53.800 sometimes

00:08:54.280 when I word

00:08:55.220 when I word it

00:08:56.100 I see who I'm

00:08:56.720 talking to

00:08:57.200 and I say

00:08:57.820 brothers and sisters

00:08:58.500 those who do good

00:08:59.360 will go to paradise

00:09:00.200 and then when I see

00:09:02.160 who I'm talking to

00:09:02.820 a group of youngsters

00:09:03.500 and so on

00:09:04.120 and I say

00:09:04.740 and those who don't

00:09:05.620 they will go elsewhere

00:09:06.640 you heard me say that

00:09:08.080 what does elsewhere

00:09:08.960 refer to here guys

00:09:09.980 can someone say it

00:09:11.220 wow did you hear

00:09:12.760 the little

00:09:13.080 a small young boy

00:09:14.840 mashallah

00:09:15.360 saying it refers

00:09:16.280 to hellfire

00:09:16.840 did I say hellfire

00:09:17.880 I didn't

00:09:18.500 he understood

00:09:19.260 what I said

00:09:19.840 there we are

00:09:20.880 we got it

00:09:22.220 in a beautiful way

00:09:23.260 but we hit it

00:09:24.180 exactly where

00:09:24.940 it's supposed to be

00:09:25.720 I don't need to say

00:09:27.260 burn

00:09:28.000 hellfire

00:09:28.760 you know

00:09:29.180 skin

00:09:29.540 it's gonna

00:09:29.920 it's there

00:09:30.720 but hang on

00:09:31.300 there is a place

00:09:32.280 and a time

00:09:32.960 to say it that way

00:09:34.500 first you need to

00:09:36.040 win the people

00:09:36.640 you need to understand

00:09:37.620 that the people are

00:09:38.860 you know

00:09:39.800 what is keeping them

00:09:40.520 on the deen

00:09:40.980 as a famous person

00:09:42.220 or anyone who's popular

00:09:43.500 it's easy for you

00:09:44.380 to sit behind the screen

00:09:45.500 to sit behind the camera

00:09:47.380 no one knows

00:09:48.380 what exactly

00:09:49.360 you go through

00:09:49.940 in your life

00:09:50.440 and you're just

00:09:50.800 bombarding everybody

00:09:51.900 you don't know

00:09:52.540 what they are going

00:09:53.160 through in their lives

00:09:53.900 I tell you one thing

00:09:55.400 brother Ali

00:09:55.920 my travels across

00:09:57.180 the globe

00:09:57.720 have softened me

00:09:58.680 in a big way

00:09:59.500 because I've seen

00:10:00.520 people from

00:10:01.200 different walks of life

00:10:02.580 trying to please Allah 0.99

00:10:03.660 and I've realized

00:10:04.640 those who haven't

00:10:05.340 traveled and seen

00:10:06.260 and you know

00:10:06.960 witnessed what

00:10:07.760 everyone is doing

00:10:08.680 sometimes they don't

00:10:09.960 appreciate the

00:10:10.840 circumstances

00:10:11.440 surrounding the

00:10:12.540 person's

00:10:13.560 you know

00:10:14.000 life

00:10:14.640 and they start

00:10:15.580 saying statements

00:10:16.640 that are very

00:10:17.400 very hurtful

00:10:18.260 so if you choose

00:10:19.480 beautiful words

00:10:20.420 inshallah

00:10:21.020 you will be able

00:10:22.060 to touch people

00:10:23.040 in a much much

00:10:23.860 better way

00:10:24.360 may Allah forgive me

00:10:25.780 for taking so long

00:10:26.560 to respond

00:10:27.100 hey give me one
