00:00:00.000 Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh brothers and sisters
00:00:21.000 Welcome back to the reality show part 6
00:00:23.000 On this show we're basically going to be discussing the hijab
00:00:26.000 Both for men and women
00:00:28.000 We're going to discuss what the word khimar means
00:00:30.000 And then we're going to basically talk about the difficulties some certain sisters face
00:00:34.000 When they were wearing their hijab and abaya
00:00:36.000 When they were taking those steps to wear it
00:00:38.000 And also basically I've got brother Saadi bin Mansour here
00:00:41.000 He's going to be helping me with the show inshaAllah
00:00:43.000 Assalamualaikum
00:00:45.000 So the show is named Convertible Hijab
00:00:47.000 Okay, firstly I want to start off with the brothers
00:00:50.000 So brothers that obviously they're trying to basically come close to Allah
00:00:56.000 You know, obviously what is their duty upon that?
00:00:58.000 What does the Quran tell us?
00:00:59.000 And obviously we know the mention of the hijab is mentioned for the sisters
00:01:02.000 Right? And we're going to discuss that later
00:01:04.000 But what is mentioned for the brothers?
00:01:06.000 What is obligatory?
00:01:08.000 What has Allah told them, ordered them to do?
00:01:11.000 Okay
00:01:12.000 Bismillah wa alhamdulillah wa salatu wa salam wa ala rasulullah
00:01:15.000 Sallallahu alayhi wa salam amma ba'd
00:01:17.000 So if you go into Surah An-Nur, right?
00:01:20.000 In those two specific ayat which speak about the men and the women
00:01:25.000 Where it talks about the men lowering their gaze and the women covering themselves
00:01:28.000 We see that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
00:01:30.000 He basically commands the men to lower their gaze
00:01:34.000 Right? But the way that's used is Ghada
00:01:36.000 Okay? And it's kind of like a soft kind of look
00:01:40.000 Right? When you're not doing a hard stare like this
00:01:42.000 Okay
00:01:43.000 You're not staring hard
00:01:44.000 The first gaze, yeah?
00:01:45.000 Yeah, it's like you know when you just like look at something and you're just like
00:01:48.000 Wow, you know, you're proper shot
00:01:49.000 You're not supposed to do that
00:01:51.000 That's the kind of look that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that it's not nice, right?
00:01:54.000 And you should come with a more kind of soft look
00:01:56.000 And you have to look at it in context, right?
00:01:59.000 Why the ayats were revealed
00:02:01.000 Because a few ayats back Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala talks about
00:02:03.000 You know, entering into somebody's house, right?
00:02:05.000 So when you enter into somebody's house
00:02:07.000 The men are told to lower the gaze, have a soft look
00:02:09.000 Why? Because there might be women inside the room
00:02:11.000 There might be women that haven't properly dressed themselves up yet
00:02:14.000 The scarves and heads are not covered and so on and so on
00:02:17.000 So they need to be, you know, prepared and stuff
00:02:19.000 And this is a subtle kind of, if I say, clothing
00:02:23.000 Which Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has given the men, right?
00:02:26.000 Of humbleness, right?
00:02:27.000 Okay, can I just ask a quick question?
00:02:28.000 Yeah
00:02:29.000 Okay, what about some sisters come and say, for example
00:02:31.000 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has told us to dress up
00:02:33.000 Because men can't lower their gaze
00:02:35.000 Is that the case or is that?
00:02:37.000 Okay, so a lot of the times, a lot of you, like you said
00:02:40.000 A lot of sisters will say that
00:02:41.000 Why do I have to wear a hijab just because men can't lower their gaze
00:02:43.000 Because they're just like thirsty alamos or something, right?
00:02:46.000 Why is it that I have to wear a hijab anyway?
00:02:48.000 Well, here's the thing, right?
00:02:50.000 If it was the case, right?
00:02:52.000 That men, that women sorry, had to cover themselves
00:02:55.000 Because men can't lower their gaze
00:02:57.000 You would have seen in the Qur'an
00:02:59.000 That Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala would have said
00:03:00.000 Women, cover your head
00:03:02.000 Because men can't lower their gaze
00:03:04.000 But that's not the case
00:03:05.000 So that's not the case in the Qur'an?
00:03:06.000 That's not the case in the Qur'an
00:03:07.000 Okay, right
00:03:08.000 This is a wrong mentality that a lot of people have today
00:03:10.000 What it actually says that in the Qur'an
00:03:11.000 First Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says to the men
00:03:13.000 Lower your gaze
00:03:14.000 And then He tells the women that you should cover yourself
00:03:17.000 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells the men
00:03:19.000 Lower your gaze
00:03:20.000 And then He tells the women that you should cover yourself
00:03:22.000 Why?
00:03:23.000 Because it will give you an Iman booster, right?
00:03:26.000 Because Surah Al-Nur, a lot of the ulema say
00:03:28.000 It's all about your Iman
00:03:29.000 It's all about refixing your Iman
00:03:31.000 And that is why the women are specifically told
00:03:34.000 Not because you have to put it on because men can't control themselves
00:03:37.000 It's got nothing to do with that
00:03:39.000 If that was the case, like I said
00:03:40.000 It would have been the other way around
00:03:41.000 But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala made it inseparable from each other, right?
00:03:46.000 They're the two separate things
00:03:47.000 Men lower their gaze for another reason
00:03:49.000 And then the women having to wear their khimar
00:03:51.000 For another specific reason for their own Iman
00:03:54.000 You see what I'm saying?
00:03:56.000 That's really true because the bit where you said it helps your Iman
00:03:58.000 It's like basically as I was watching a lecture
00:04:01.000 It basically says the Ansari woman
00:04:03.000 They were basically when they heard this verse
00:04:05.000 That it says a woman should cover their hair
00:04:07.000 They were basically ripping up their, you know
00:04:09.000 The apron
00:04:11.000 They were ripping up their garments to wear it
00:04:13.000 Just to fulfill the ayah, right?
00:04:15.000 Yeah, exactly
00:04:16.000 So it just shows like you said the Iman
00:04:18.000 So okay, so we understand that basically the brothers have a big duty upon them as well
00:04:22.000 As well as sisters, you know, you have to lower your gaze
00:04:24.000 So that's really true what brother Saad just said
00:04:27.000 And this really goes for the brothers because
00:04:29.000 You know, there's some double standards within the Ummah
00:04:32.000 And it's not really nice because it's not just about sisters wearing the hijab
00:04:35.000 You know, it's just them, pinpointing them
00:04:36.000 You've got a duty upon you as well
00:04:38.000 Because obviously the Quran tells us that a man should cover his from his navel to his knee
00:04:43.000 In the hadith of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
00:04:46.000 Above, what is between the above the knee and below the navel that should be
00:04:51.000 Below the navel should be covered up
00:04:52.000 Yeah, this is what I mean
00:04:53.000 Because what happens with some brothers is basically
00:04:55.000 Because they just think it's about sisters
00:04:57.000 Sometimes you have brothers that go on Facebook
00:04:59.000 They have a full beard, mashallah
00:05:00.000 You know, they're practicing the deen
00:05:01.000 But let's say when they go on holiday
00:05:03.000 They're topless, you know
00:05:04.000 It's like it's a duty upon you, you have to cover it, right?
00:05:07.000 Yeah, so we need to, you know
00:05:09.000 This is something you need to take heed on
00:05:10.000 You know, this is something you need to understand
00:05:12.000 You know, it's not just mentioned for the sisters
00:05:14.000 It's a duty upon you as well
00:05:15.000 And lowering your gaze
00:05:16.000 We know how hard it is
00:05:17.000 Trust me, we know how hard it is
00:05:18.000 Especially for the brothers coming to the deen
00:05:20.000 In the deen, it is really hard
00:05:21.000 You know, to lower your gaze
00:05:22.000 But like the brothers said
00:05:23.000 When you go into somebody's house
00:05:24.000 Lower your gaze to a point where you know where you're going
00:05:26.000 You don't need to like, look around gaze
00:05:28.000 Did you get what I'm trying to say, yeah?
00:05:30.000 Okay, now that part is covered
00:05:32.000 So basically, what I want to talk about
00:05:34.000 Is basically the reason why I want to bring this topic
00:05:37.000 Is because my team received a message from one of the sisters
00:05:40.000 And the sister was like
00:05:41.000 Okay, on reality part five
00:05:43.000 When he was talking about
00:05:44.000 I picked my sister
00:05:45.000 You know, the whole scenario that happened
00:05:47.000 That basically, brother Imran said
00:05:49.000 Okay, the girls that are dressed in skimpy clothing
00:05:51.000 Want to be chirps, yeah?
00:05:53.000 And she was a bit offended by that
00:05:54.000 I kind of cleared the misconception about that
00:05:55.000 But I want to go through it again
00:05:56.000 Because at the end of the day
00:05:58.000 What happened was basically
00:05:59.000 Now, when we mean skimpy
00:06:02.000 You need to understand what we are saying sisters
00:06:04.000 Okay, we are not talking
00:06:05.000 Brother Imran didn't say
00:06:06.000 Women that do not wear the hijab
00:06:08.000 We do not define that as skimpy
00:06:10.000 We didn't say that
00:06:11.000 What we're trying to say is
00:06:12.000 Women that dressed up revealing
00:06:13.000 Showing her cleavage
00:06:15.000 She's wearing mini skirts
00:06:17.000 These are the kind of women
00:06:18.000 We were basically talking about, yeah?
00:06:20.000 Because at the end of the day
00:06:21.000 You need to understand
00:06:22.000 Because the sister was telling me
00:06:23.000 Okay, just because I'm dressed this way
00:06:24.000 It does not
00:06:25.000 Basically, it does not make me
00:06:26.000 Excuse my language
00:06:27.000 A hoe
00:06:28.000 That's what she was saying, yeah?
00:06:30.000 And I said, of course sister
00:06:31.000 No way we're saying that
00:06:32.000 But check this analogy
00:06:33.000 And hear what I'm trying to say
00:06:35.000 Because at the end of the day
00:06:36.000 You're saying basically
00:06:37.000 Just because I'm dressed this way
00:06:38.000 It does not make me a hoe
00:06:40.000 Right?
00:06:41.000 Let's say I agree with you, yeah?
00:06:42.000 I know your heart is clean
00:06:43.000 Okay, that's not a problem
00:06:44.000 But what you need to understand
00:06:45.000 Is this my sister
00:06:46.000 Imagine
00:06:47.000 Imagine this
00:06:48.000 Okay
00:06:49.000 Imagine this
00:06:50.000 I'm
00:06:51.000 I'm dressed up in a police uniform
00:06:52.000 One day, yeah?
00:06:53.000 I'm dressed in a police uniform
00:06:55.000 I'm walking down
00:06:56.000 Kingston High Street
00:06:57.000 Yeah?
00:06:58.000 I've just wore a uniform
00:06:59.000 Yeah?
00:07:00.000 And I'm walking down
00:07:01.000 And somehow
00:07:02.000 Somebody comes
00:07:03.000 And grabs your bag
00:07:04.000 He's trying to rob you
00:07:05.000 Okay?
00:07:06.000 Automatically
00:07:07.000 When you see the uniform
00:07:08.000 That I'm wearing
00:07:09.000 You're going to be thinking
00:07:10.000 There's a police officer
00:07:12.000 And he can help me
00:07:13.000 So what you're going to do
00:07:14.000 Is you're going to basically
00:07:15.000 Run up to me and say
00:07:16.000 Officer, can you please help me?
00:07:17.000 Somebody's trying to rob me
00:07:18.000 Now if I turn to you and say
00:07:20.000 Excuse me madam
00:07:21.000 Just because I'm dressed in a police officer's uniform
00:07:24.000 That does not make me a police officer
00:07:26.000 You're going to be confused and baffled
00:07:28.000 Because you're going to be like
00:07:29.000 Hold on a second
00:07:30.000 Your uniform represents
00:07:31.000 What you're supposed to be doing
00:07:32.000 But you're rejecting that
00:07:33.000 So this is the exact same
00:07:35.000 What I'm trying to say my sister
00:07:36.000 The uniform that you wear
00:07:37.000 For example
00:07:38.000 Let's say
00:07:39.000 Mini skirt
00:07:40.000 Showing a body
00:07:41.000 You know girls that go out to clubs
00:07:42.000 These kind of girls
00:07:43.000 Let me put it like this
00:07:44.000 And I'll be straight up with you
00:07:45.000 Because I want the best for you
00:07:46.000 Yeah?
00:07:47.000 Girls that dress up in skimpy clothing
00:07:49.000 Are after
00:07:50.000 Usually
00:07:51.000 Let me put it like this
00:07:52.000 They go to nightclubs
00:07:53.000 To drink alcohol
00:07:54.000 To mix with boys
00:07:55.000 And they want certain things
00:07:56.000 Some girls go to the extent of having
00:07:57.000 One night stands
00:07:58.000 Let me give you another example
00:08:00.000 Prostitutes
00:08:01.000 Right?
00:08:02.000 Prostitution
00:08:03.000 Women that are involved in this kind of
00:08:04.000 Haram business
00:08:05.000 How do they dress to attract their clients?
00:08:06.000 What is their uniform?
00:08:08.000 Their uniform is wearing as short as possible
00:08:10.000 As revealing as possible
00:08:12.000 So their customers can notice them
00:08:15.000 Through their uniform
00:08:16.000 Do you understand what I'm trying to say?
00:08:17.000 So you need to understand
00:08:18.000 Where the brothers
00:08:20.000 The guys out there
00:08:21.000 The guys out there
00:08:22.000 They're getting coffees
00:08:23.000 Because they're looking at you
00:08:24.000 And they're like
00:08:25.000 Hold on a second
00:08:26.000 Okay right
00:08:27.000 She looks like someone that's
00:08:28.000 She wants something
00:08:29.000 She's after you know
00:08:30.000 And then if he approaches you
00:08:31.000 And you're like
00:08:32.000 You know just because I'm dressed this way
00:08:33.000 Does not mean I'm after sexual desires
00:08:35.000 Or this
00:08:36.000 You need to understand that
00:08:37.000 Your uniform tells a lot about yourself
00:08:38.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:08:39.000 It's like a fireman
00:08:40.000 Let's give an example fireman
00:08:41.000 If your house is burning
00:08:43.000 If you say a fireman in his uniform
00:08:44.000 You are expecting that fireman
00:08:45.000 Because his uniform represents what he is doing
00:08:48.000 You're expecting him
00:08:49.000 If your house is on fire
00:08:50.000 And you see a fireman just walking past
00:08:51.000 You're going to be thinking
00:08:52.000 You're in a uniform that represents
00:08:54.000 Are you supposed to be helping me out?
00:08:56.000 If he turns around to you and says
00:08:57.000 Oh
00:08:58.000 Just because I'm in a fire brigade uniform
00:09:00.000 It does not mean that I'm a fireman
00:09:02.000 Do you understand the knowledge of my sister?
00:09:04.000 This is how a man's brain works
00:09:06.000 Certain people's
00:09:07.000 Even yours
00:09:08.000 Like I gave the knowledge of a police officer
00:09:10.000 You will come and ask for help
00:09:11.000 Why?
00:09:12.000 This is the same way a man gets attracted
00:09:15.000 When he sees a girl
00:09:16.000 Out and about
00:09:17.000 Dressed in skimpy clothing
00:09:18.000 Skimpy mini skirts
00:09:19.000 Revealing herself
00:09:20.000 He's thinking
00:09:21.000 Ah, an easy catch
00:09:22.000 Because a woman
00:09:23.000 That respects herself
00:09:24.000 Yeah?
00:09:25.000 She does not need to use her body
00:09:27.000 To gain that attraction
00:09:28.000 Some sisters say to me
00:09:29.000 Bro, sorry
00:09:30.000 I dress up like this for myself
00:09:31.000 I don't do it for the guys
00:09:32.000 But I'm like
00:09:33.000 Hold on a second
00:09:34.000 Okay, alright, that's cool
00:09:35.000 You wanna dress up like that for yourself
00:09:37.000 Why would you
00:09:38.000 Why would you do that to yourself?
00:09:39.000 That's what I don't understand
00:09:40.000 You're either
00:09:41.000 There's two things
00:09:42.000 I might be wrong here
00:09:43.000 I see it as two things
00:09:44.000 You're either doing it for a guy
00:09:45.000 Or you're in a competition with other girls
00:09:46.000 That dress up the same way as you do
00:09:48.000 So what I'm trying to say to you is
00:09:49.000 Why be in a competition with girls
00:09:50.000 That are lower than you
00:09:51.000 And try to you know
00:09:52.000 Dress up just like them
00:09:53.000 Revealing clothing
00:09:54.000 If it's for the girls
00:09:55.000 If you're doing it for
00:09:56.000 I wanna look pretty
00:09:57.000 Why even do that?
00:09:58.000 Number two
00:09:59.000 If you're doing it for the guys
00:10:00.000 Why use your own body sister?
00:10:01.000 Your body is sacred
00:10:02.000 You know why
00:10:03.000 Why would you do that
00:10:04.000 To just impress a few pigs?
00:10:06.000 These guys are out there
00:10:07.000 In the hunt
00:10:08.000 I'm telling you
00:10:09.000 These guys are hunters
00:10:10.000 You know?
00:10:11.000 I've got friends back in the days
00:10:12.000 I'm sure you know people Aki
00:10:13.000 These people are there for a reason
00:10:15.000 And when they see
00:10:17.000 You dressed in that way
00:10:18.000 They'll approach you
00:10:19.000 It's simple as that
00:10:20.000 This is
00:10:21.000 Look, this is what it is sisters
00:10:22.000 Take it or not
00:10:23.000 Get mad at me as much as you like
00:10:25.000 Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has ordered that
00:10:26.000 If you're mad at me
00:10:27.000 You're not actually mad at me
00:10:28.000 You're mad at the Quran
00:10:29.000 The one who created you
00:10:30.000 You're mad at me
00:10:31.000 If you've got a problem right now thinking
00:10:32.000 Why is your brother saying that?
00:10:33.000 I'm trying to say it to the best way as possible
00:10:34.000 My sisters
00:10:35.000 I'm trying to wake you up
00:10:36.000 And open your eyes
00:10:37.000 You know?
00:10:38.000 You really need to acknowledge this
00:10:39.000 Just take it step by step
00:10:40.000 I'm not telling you overnight
00:10:41.000 We're at Abaya
00:10:42.000 Niqab
00:10:43.000 I'm not saying that
00:10:44.000 Take it step by step
00:10:45.000 Know this 100%
00:10:46.000 As a man
00:10:47.000 We're telling you
00:10:48.000 Women that dress up like that
00:10:49.000 You want wrong attention my sisters
00:10:51.000 Please inshallah fix up
00:10:52.000 Some sisters that basically message the team
00:10:54.000 My team was basically
00:10:55.000 They were saying
00:10:56.000 Is basically
00:10:57.000 They felt good about their self
00:10:58.000 You know?
00:10:59.000 Like for example
00:11:00.000 When they were dressing like that
00:11:02.000 They got more attention
00:11:03.000 You're right
00:11:04.000 You're 100% right
00:11:05.000 You will get attention
00:11:06.000 You will 100% get attention
00:11:08.000 The way you feel about yourself
00:11:09.000 Will go up the roof
00:11:10.000 But why are they approaching you?
00:11:11.000 Think of this
00:11:12.000 Like this sister
00:11:13.000 Why are they approaching you?
00:11:15.000 Ask the guy that approaches you
00:11:16.000 I guarantee you
00:11:17.000 I will put money on it
00:11:18.000 Yeah?
00:11:19.000 Obviously betting is haram
00:11:20.000 I'm not betting you
00:11:21.000 I'm just saying that
00:11:22.000 I will put my life on it yeah?
00:11:23.000 What I'm trying to say is this
00:11:24.000 That same guy
00:11:25.000 Wallahi
00:11:26.000 If you said to him
00:11:27.000 If your sister
00:11:28.000 Would you allow your sister to dress up like this?
00:11:29.000 You'll be like
00:11:30.000 Never
00:11:31.000 Your mother
00:11:32.000 Never
00:11:33.000 Your sister
00:11:34.000 Never
00:11:35.000 He will say never ever
00:11:36.000 Then you need to ask him this question
00:11:37.000 Then why is it that you approach me?
00:11:38.000 You know?
00:11:39.000 Your sister
00:11:40.000 Your mother
00:11:41.000 Or your daughter
00:11:42.000 Then why do you
00:11:43.000 Why do you approach me in such a nice manner?
00:11:45.000 Sweet talk
00:11:46.000 You make me feel so special
00:11:47.000 Why do you do that?
00:11:48.000 My sisters
00:11:49.000 Please wake up
00:11:50.000 Seriously
00:11:51.000 God's sake
00:11:52.000 Wake up
00:11:53.000 Get away from this delusion
00:11:54.000 He will get the attention
00:11:55.000 You know
00:11:56.000 For example
00:11:57.000 Oh you look gorgeous
00:11:58.000 You look this
00:11:59.000 He's gonna say everything under the sun
00:12:00.000 He is created with an urge
00:12:01.000 He's trying to fulfill that
00:12:02.000 He's like a man that's been starved
00:12:03.000 He hasn't ate chicken for two weeks
00:12:05.000 So when he sees the chicken
00:12:06.000 It's funny
00:12:07.000 It's funny
00:12:08.000 It's like a man that hasn't ate food
00:12:09.000 When he is hungry
00:12:10.000 He's gonna do
00:12:11.000 Come on
00:12:12.000 If you haven't ate for two weeks
00:12:13.000 What are you gonna do to persuade me to give you food?
00:12:15.000 Anything bro
00:12:16.000 You will stab me
00:12:17.000 If you need it
00:12:18.000 You will like
00:12:19.000 I'm hungry
00:12:20.000 This is how a man is
00:12:21.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:12:22.000 You might laugh it off
00:12:23.000 But I'm just giving you an analogy
00:12:24.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:12:25.000 I just wanna move on
00:12:26.000 Obviously we just covered that
00:12:27.000 Now
00:12:28.000 I wanna talk about the sisters that wear the hijab
00:12:30.000 Right
00:12:31.000 This is very very important
00:12:32.000 Because
00:12:33.000 Obviously you know we're in the social media scene
00:12:35.000 Yeah?
00:12:36.000 Now what you need to understand is this my sisters
00:12:38.000 And this really upsets me
00:12:40.000 Because what happens is
00:12:41.000 Sometimes I have brothers coming telling me
00:12:43.000 Like Rahman
00:12:44.000 For example
00:12:45.000 I was looking for marriage
00:12:46.000 Obviously Facebook is not the right place to look for marriage
00:12:47.000 But he was just like
00:12:48.000 I was just like looking
00:12:49.000 I see this sister
00:12:50.000 On the profile picture
00:12:52.000 She's wearing abaya hijab
00:12:53.000 And I was like mashallah
00:12:54.000 And then I go on the next picture
00:12:56.000 She's got like
00:12:58.000 Abaya's come off
00:12:59.000 She's got the hijab
00:13:00.000 Then I go on the next picture
00:13:01.000 She's got the hijab come off
00:13:02.000 He goes
00:13:03.000 Every time I press the next click
00:13:04.000 Something's coming off
00:13:06.000 So he's like
00:13:07.000 I was like a bit confused
00:13:08.000 You know what the hell
00:13:09.000 You know
00:13:10.000 Why are they doing that?
00:13:11.000 Do you have any idea?
00:13:12.000 Why do sisters do this?
00:13:15.000 They haven't understood
00:13:17.000 Right?
00:13:18.000 The whole point of covering themselves
00:13:21.000 Right?
00:13:22.000 And I think it comes back from understanding
00:13:24.000 What was revealed first
00:13:26.000 To the women in terms of clothing
00:13:27.000 Right?
00:13:28.000 So if you look in terms of revelation of the Quran
00:13:31.000 Right?
00:13:32.000 The ire about the hijab covering your head
00:13:35.000 Was not revealed first
00:13:37.000 Okay?
00:13:38.000 It wasn't revealed first
00:13:39.000 Yeah?
00:13:40.000 It wasn't revealed first
00:13:41.000 This is very interesting
00:13:42.000 Please listen
00:13:43.000 And this is something that a lot of people
00:13:44.000 They don't understand
00:13:45.000 Right?
00:13:46.000 You think
00:13:47.000 The first step to becoming a better muslima
00:13:49.000 Is to put on the hijab
00:13:50.000 Yeah
00:13:51.000 Then the rest comes
00:13:52.000 That's not how the way is
00:13:54.000 Right?
00:13:55.000 In the Quran
00:13:56.000 The first ayah that was revealed about clothing to the women
00:13:58.000 Was about the jilbab
00:14:00.000 And what is the jilbab?
00:14:02.000 The jilbab linguistically
00:14:03.000 It refers to the clothing which goes from the neck
00:14:05.000 All the way to the bottom
00:14:07.000 Okay?
00:14:08.000 So look at that
00:14:09.000 This ayah in Surat al-Ahzab was revealed first in Medina
00:14:12.000 Yeah
00:14:13.000 One year later
00:14:14.000 My sisters
00:14:15.000 Then the ayah about khimar about covering your head was revealed
00:14:18.000 SubhanAllah
00:14:19.000 You see what I'm saying?
00:14:20.000 That's like
00:14:21.000 Okay, hold on a second
00:14:22.000 So that's the opposite
00:14:23.000 It's like sisters of today
00:14:24.000 Sisters today
00:14:25.000 Mashallah, obviously everyone has their own struggle
00:14:26.000 I'm not criticising what I'm about to say now
00:14:28.000 Is the sisters that practice today
00:14:30.000 Today
00:14:31.000 Where do they start off from?
00:14:32.000 From the khimar, yeah?
00:14:35.000 Over the head
00:14:36.000 And then
00:14:37.000 Then
00:14:38.000 But back in the days
00:14:39.000 Allah SWT ordered for you to cover your
00:14:41.000 Your whole body first
00:14:42.000 Before
00:14:43.000 Wow, that's amazing
00:14:45.000 Check this out
00:14:46.000 Back in the days Allah SWT ordered for you to cover your body first
00:14:48.000 Wear loose clothing
00:14:50.000 Then put the khimar on
00:14:51.000 Which is the head covering
00:14:52.000 But today
00:14:53.000 Sisters, I'm not criticising
00:14:54.000 I'm just saying like
00:14:55.000 I'm just looking at the analogy
00:14:56.000 Like
00:14:57.000 Sisters start off with their head
00:14:58.000 Then work their way down
00:14:59.000 That's quite
00:15:00.000 Wow
00:15:01.000 And that really shows
00:15:02.000 A reason why
00:15:03.000 Many sisters
00:15:04.000 When they wear their hijab first
00:15:05.000 It takes so long for them to get comfortable with the abaya
00:15:08.000 Yeah
00:15:09.000 And even when they wear their hijab
00:15:10.000 Right?
00:15:11.000 It's so easy for them to just
00:15:12.000 Let go of the hijab first
00:15:13.000 Right?
00:15:14.000 Yeah
00:15:15.000 Because they still have all this body showing
00:15:16.000 Right?
00:15:17.000 Yeah
00:15:18.000 And when somebody compliments them
00:15:19.000 They think to themselves
00:15:20.000 I have complimenting
00:15:21.000 People are complimenting on my body
00:15:22.000 Yeah
00:15:23.000 Maybe I should take my hijab off
00:15:24.000 Maybe my hair
00:15:25.000 Right?
00:15:26.000 And then they go back to that same lifestyle
00:15:28.000 But if you can get rid of the most of your body
00:15:30.000 The most of your beauty
00:15:31.000 Right?
00:15:32.000 Remember when Allah SWT says
00:15:33.000 Zina refers to your chest
00:15:34.000 Right?
00:15:35.000 From the bottom part of your chest
00:15:36.000 Right?
00:15:37.000 All the way down
00:15:38.000 Yeah?
00:15:39.000 And the whole point is
00:15:40.000 If you can cover this part first
00:15:42.000 Then the hijab becomes easier
00:15:44.000 To cover your head becomes so much more easier
00:15:46.000 Basically
00:15:47.000 We're not here to say
00:15:48.000 Why are you doing this
00:15:49.000 Why are you doing that first
00:15:50.000 Sisters
00:15:51.000 Wallahi
00:15:52.000 You know from our other shows
00:15:53.000 Yeah?
00:15:54.000 You know what my shows are about
00:15:55.000 What I'm trying to do
00:15:56.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:15:57.000 We went through what the brothers look
00:15:58.000 How men really think
00:15:59.000 Does he really love you?
00:16:00.000 I've been through that
00:16:01.000 But I really want to enlighten you
00:16:02.000 Because you need to understand
00:16:03.000 My sisters
00:16:04.000 Take baby steps
00:16:05.000 Take baby steps
00:16:06.000 I'm not criticising you
00:16:07.000 How this or that
00:16:08.000 We're not criticising
00:16:09.000 We are here to inform you
00:16:10.000 We are telling what the Quran tells you
00:16:12.000 Yeah what the Quran tells you
00:16:14.000 Basically when we say that
00:16:15.000 If you're mad at us
00:16:16.000 And be like oh why is these guys
00:16:17.000 Talking about sisters clothing?
00:16:18.000 Why are they doing this?
00:16:19.000 What's it got to do with them?
00:16:20.000 They don't know that
00:16:21.000 We know the struggle you go through
00:16:22.000 Right?
00:16:23.000 Not in detail as much as you do
00:16:24.000 But I have great utter respect for sisters
00:16:27.000 Yeah?
00:16:28.000 Like you who are trying
00:16:29.000 May Allah sponsor reward you
00:16:30.000 And inshallah help you in the process
00:16:33.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:16:34.000 But we need to understand this my sisters
00:16:36.000 Do not let somebody else
00:16:37.000 Take your hijab as a joke
00:16:38.000 Because when somebody goes
00:16:39.000 And sees you wearing a hijab
00:16:41.000 And then for example
00:16:42.000 You go into a wedding
00:16:43.000 And you take a hijab off
00:16:44.000 How can he take you serious?
00:16:45.000 How can a man
00:16:46.000 Take you seriously
00:16:47.000 When you don't take your own deen seriously
00:16:48.000 My sister
00:16:49.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:16:50.000 If you're going through a struggle
00:16:51.000 My sister
00:16:52.000 If you're going through a struggle
00:16:53.000 Do not display it in public
00:16:54.000 Do not put it on Facebook
00:16:56.000 Your struggle we respect
00:16:57.000 We have
00:16:58.000 I have my own struggle
00:16:59.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:17:00.000 I have my own struggles in the deen
00:17:02.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:17:03.000 So I know where you're coming from
00:17:05.000 What you're doing
00:17:06.000 What you're trying
00:17:07.000 Wallahi I have great respect
00:17:08.000 You sisters are the backbone of this Ummah
00:17:10.000 We respect you
00:17:11.000 Wallahi we do
00:17:12.000 But you need to understand something
00:17:13.000 Do not let other people take you as a joke
00:17:15.000 There are some sisters out there
00:17:16.000 Where in the Quran does it say
00:17:17.000 I have to cover my hair?
00:17:18.000 Now explicitly
00:17:20.000 Explicitly
00:17:21.000 Excuse me
00:17:22.000 Explicitly
00:17:23.000 The Quran uses the word Khimar
00:17:25.000 What does the word Khimar mean?
00:17:26.000 For example
00:17:27.000 Back in the day
00:17:28.000 When you would see for example
00:17:29.000 A sheep
00:17:30.000 A sheep
00:17:31.000 Yeah
00:17:32.000 And the sheep's body
00:17:33.000 Is all white
00:17:34.000 Up to the neck
00:17:35.000 And from the neck above the head
00:17:36.000 Is black
00:17:37.000 Yeah?
00:17:38.000 The body is white colour
00:17:39.000 The head
00:17:40.000 Neck from the head
00:17:41.000 Is black
00:17:42.000 They will say
00:17:43.000 Look at that sheep
00:17:44.000 Because this is what the word Khimar means
00:17:45.000 For example
00:17:46.000 Analogy
00:17:47.000 Was watching
00:17:48.000 Basically
00:17:49.000 What the brother says is
00:17:50.000 Basically
00:17:51.000 The Khimar belongs to the head
00:17:52.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:17:53.000 Because
00:17:54.000 Think of it like this
00:17:55.000 I said to you yeah
00:17:56.000 Can you please put your
00:17:57.000 Put your socks on?
00:17:58.000 Do I need to tell you
00:17:59.000 Where to put your socks on?
00:18:00.000 Where does your socks belong to?
00:18:01.000 Your feet
00:18:02.000 This is exactly
00:18:03.000 Right?
00:18:04.000 This is exactly the word
00:18:05.000 Where Khimar
00:18:06.000 When Allah wants to wear the Khimar
00:18:07.000 It instantaneously means
00:18:08.000 Your head
00:18:09.000 But what about
00:18:10.000 Akhi now
00:18:11.000 The sisters that say that
00:18:12.000 They have trouble
00:18:13.000 When they put on the hijab
00:18:14.000 Okay?
00:18:15.000 When they put on the Khimar
00:18:16.000 They get family people abusing them
00:18:18.000 They get people abusing them
00:18:19.000 You know
00:18:20.000 One sister
00:18:21.000 You know when you put up
00:18:22.000 A status on Facebook
00:18:23.000 Saying
00:18:24.000 Somebody threw alcohol on me
00:18:26.000 One sister said
00:18:27.000 Somebody blew his cigarette smoke on me
00:18:29.000 So
00:18:30.000 What advice would you give to the sisters
00:18:31.000 That are going through this kind of struggle?
00:18:32.000 Good thing to be honest yeah
00:18:34.000 It would mainly be
00:18:35.000 Attacks from outsiders
00:18:36.000 You know like
00:18:37.000 You know people
00:18:38.000 Non-believers yeah
00:18:39.000 It's funny
00:18:40.000 They're all mother and father
00:18:41.000 Actually one sister was telling me
00:18:42.000 That all her brothers and sisters
00:18:43.000 Get different treatment
00:18:44.000 Because she wears the hijab
00:18:46.000 Yeah
00:18:47.000 The modern time we use the hijab
00:18:48.000 Which is Khimar
00:18:49.000 She gets a
00:18:50.000 She gets a
00:18:51.000 Really bad room
00:18:52.000 At the back of her house
00:18:53.000 She's like an animal
00:18:55.000 Like it's her own family
00:18:56.000 Sisters
00:18:57.000 All I'm going to say is this
00:18:58.000 Be strong
00:18:59.000 Only a little remain
00:19:00.000 Sisters
00:19:01.000 Please be strong
00:19:02.000 Because at the end of the day
00:19:03.000 Look you might take your hijab off
00:19:04.000 Yeah?
00:19:05.000 You might take your hijab off
00:19:06.000 Don't ever forget my sister
00:19:07.000 Your practice of the deen
00:19:09.000 The hijab just doesn't mean
00:19:10.000 You wear a veil
00:19:11.000 Or a abaya
00:19:13.000 It does not finish there
00:19:14.000 Your character
00:19:15.000 Your attitude
00:19:16.000 The way you respond to people
00:19:17.000 The way you act in public
00:19:18.000 This is all
00:19:20.000 Some kind of
00:19:21.000 A way of worship
00:19:22.000 Right?
00:19:23.000 It's like hijab
00:19:24.000 That's why
00:19:25.000 If you keep it on
00:19:26.000 I'm telling you
00:19:27.000 I went through difficulties myself
00:19:28.000 Not necessarily wearing the hijab
00:19:29.000 For example the beard
00:19:30.000 But what happens is
00:19:31.000 In time
00:19:32.000 If I said okay
00:19:33.000 I'm completely going to shave it off
00:19:34.000 Because my dad doesn't like it
00:19:35.000 For example
00:19:36.000 What am I going to gain?
00:19:37.000 Nothing
00:19:38.000 My dad's still going to hate it
00:19:39.000 For example my conduct
00:19:40.000 The way I am
00:19:41.000 If you do the same
00:19:42.000 Keep it on
00:19:43.000 And make dua
00:19:44.000 Do not ever underestimate
00:19:45.000 The power of dua
00:19:46.000 And inshallah
00:19:47.000 Wallahi there will come a time
00:19:48.000 Where your own mother
00:19:49.000 That is looking at you
00:19:50.000 Like an animal
00:19:51.000 Will put on the hijab
00:19:52.000 Definitely
00:19:53.000 You know
00:19:54.000 Just one point
00:19:55.000 To mention right
00:19:56.000 The word which Allah SWT
00:19:57.000 Used in the Quran
00:19:58.000 About putting on
00:19:59.000 Is
00:20:00.000 Okay
00:20:01.000 The root word
00:20:02.000 From this word
00:20:03.000 Is
00:20:04.000 Daraba
00:20:05.000 Daraba means
00:20:06.000 To hit
00:20:07.000 The scholars of tafsir
00:20:09.000 They say
00:20:10.000 There's a bit of
00:20:11.000 There is like
00:20:12.000 A rhetoric emphasis
00:20:13.000 Within this word
00:20:14.000 Right
00:20:15.000 Because
00:20:16.000 Now I'm going a bit
00:20:17.000 Into Arabic grammar
00:20:18.000 With you guys
00:20:19.000 Daraba is a verb
00:20:20.000 Right
00:20:21.000 A verb means something
00:20:22.000 Which you are doing actively
00:20:23.000 The point is
00:20:24.000 That they say
00:20:25.000 For every time
00:20:26.000 You put on the hijab
00:20:27.000 Every time for example
00:20:28.000 You know when you struggle
00:20:29.000 With the hijab
00:20:30.000 And you have to
00:20:31.000 For example put some hair in
00:20:32.000 Or fix it up
00:20:33.000 And the time you take
00:20:34.000 It is a struggle
00:20:35.000 For our sisters
00:20:36.000 You get rewarded as well
00:20:37.000 You get rewarded because
00:20:38.000 It's an act of ibadah
00:20:39.000 Every time
00:20:40.000 Every time your hair sticks out
00:20:41.000 And you put it in
00:20:42.000 You're getting a reward
00:20:43.000 Every time you're trying to
00:20:44.000 Fix the hijab off
00:20:45.000 Like you know looking in the mirror
00:20:46.000 Some sisters look because
00:20:47.000 They want to look pretty
00:20:48.000 But you know some of them
00:20:49.000 You're fixing up to them
00:20:50.000 Basically you know
00:20:51.000 Feel the thing
00:20:52.000 What Allah SWT has ordered
00:20:53.000 Like the Ansari woman
00:20:54.000 When they heard it
00:20:55.000 Automatically they covered their hair
00:20:56.000 You are getting reward
00:20:57.000 So I didn't mean to cut you up there
00:20:58.000 No no that's cool
00:20:59.000 But basically
00:21:00.000 That was the point
00:21:01.000 With every little action
00:21:02.000 That you have to do
00:21:03.000 In terms of the hijab
00:21:04.000 In terms of the khimar
00:21:05.000 It's ibadah
00:21:06.000 Because you're obeying Allah
00:21:07.000 And you're getting rewarded
00:21:08.000 Again and again
00:21:09.000 Every time you wear the khimar
00:21:10.000 You're outside
00:21:11.000 And it's hot
00:21:12.000 You're getting rewarded
00:21:13.000 For your struggle
00:21:14.000 Exactly
00:21:15.000 And also like for example
00:21:16.000 It's like dhikr as well
00:21:17.000 Because dhikr is remembering Allah
00:21:19.000 So what it is
00:21:20.000 When you see your hair sticking out
00:21:21.000 You remember Allah
00:21:22.000 And you cover your hair
00:21:23.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:21:24.000 So when you do that
00:21:25.000 That's like dhikr
00:21:26.000 If you get what I'm trying to say
00:21:27.000 So I'm just going to sum it up
00:21:28.000 Like you heard brothers and sisters
00:21:31.000 Inshallah you benefited
00:21:32.000 But I'm just going to emphasize
00:21:34.000 Especially on it again
00:21:35.000 My dear sisters
00:21:36.000 Who are wearing the hijab
00:21:37.000 Please
00:21:38.000 Please for the sake of Allah
00:21:39.000 We are your brothers
00:21:40.000 We are seeing this
00:21:41.000 For your own benefit
00:21:42.000 If you are wearing the hijab
00:21:43.000 My sister
00:21:44.000 Just know that you are wearing
00:21:45.000 A uniform that represents
00:21:46.000 An ummah
00:21:47.000 An entire ummah
00:21:48.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:21:49.000 When we see you
00:21:50.000 Dress up in a hijab
00:21:51.000 We have that great respect for you
00:21:52.000 I'm not saying the sisters
00:21:53.000 That do not wear it
00:21:54.000 We don't have no respect for them
00:21:55.000 We have respect for them
00:21:56.000 Unless there's some girls out there
00:21:57.000 Who dress in skimpy clothing
00:21:58.000 May Allah guide them
00:21:59.000 But the way they're dressing
00:22:01.000 It just shows something else
00:22:02.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:22:03.000 You know?
00:22:04.000 So please my brothers and
00:22:05.000 My sisters especially
00:22:06.000 Please
00:22:07.000 You know your responsibilities
00:22:08.000 Inshallah try your best
00:22:09.000 Strive
00:22:10.000 I'm not telling you to be perfect
00:22:11.000 Nobody's perfect
00:22:12.000 I'm not perfect
00:22:13.000 So just strive Inshallah
00:22:14.000 But please just remember
00:22:15.000 Just like I said
00:22:17.000 The fireman
00:22:18.000 The police officer
00:22:19.000 The doctor that wears the uniform
00:22:20.000 He represents something
00:22:21.000 When you go for a job interview
00:22:23.000 You have to wear a suit
00:22:24.000 Dress up smart
00:22:25.000 Why don't you go and say
00:22:26.000 You know what?
00:22:27.000 Go to the job interview looking like a Trump
00:22:28.000 Say look my heart is clean
00:22:29.000 Your heart might be clean
00:22:30.000 But your dress is important
00:22:32.000 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
00:22:33.000 So that's why
00:22:34.000 Just remember my sisters
00:22:35.000 When you put that hijab
00:22:36.000 Or the abaya
00:22:37.000 You're representing a massive ummah
00:22:39.000 Please take responsibility
00:22:40.000 May Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you
00:22:43.000 Thank you very much Saad
00:22:44.000 Seriously thanks for everything
00:22:45.000 You're welcome
00:22:46.000 I want to thank the brother
00:22:47.000 Oyin Ajmayn the cameraman
00:22:48.000 And everyone that took part in this
00:22:50.000 And just a quick note
00:22:51.000 We are not scholars
00:22:52.000 Even a student of knowledge
00:22:54.000 I give general advice
00:22:55.000 And try to help the ummah
00:22:56.000 As much as I can
00:22:57.000 If I have done any mistakes
00:22:58.000 And said anything wrong
00:22:59.000 I apologize
00:23:00.000 Take care
00:23:01.000 May Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you all
00:23:03.000 Surah empire
00:23:04.000 Thin life
00:23:05.000 And take care
00:23:06.000 Today
00:23:22.000 In ukraine
00:23:24.000 I am
