Ron DeSantis and Gavin Newsom debate California Gov. Gavin's campaign has been heavily focused on California, but why is it that more Floridians are leaving California than any other state in the country, and why is that happening? In this episode, we take a deep dive into why California is losing population and why Florida is gaining ground in the governor's race. We also get a chance to hear Gavin's response to a question from CNN's Wolf Blitzer about why more people are choosing Florida over California and why it's a better place to live than California. We also hear from a Florida man who moved from California to Florida and why he thinks Florida is better than California, and how he thinks California should pay its fair share in taxes. And we get to the bottom line: California's taxes are higher than Florida's taxes, and Florida's are lower than California's...but there's a big difference between the two states and California's is much more progressive than Florida is about taxes and Florida is much less progressive than California is about to find out. What's the difference between California and Florida, you ask? The answer may surprise you...and we'll let you know. 00:01:08.000That we have in common is neither of us will be the nominee for our party in 2024.
00:01:14.000Governor, great opening statement, but it did not address the issue.
00:01:20.000Can you explain this migration out of California and going to... You mean the last two years, more Floridians going to California than Californians going to Florida?
00:01:32.000By the way, that's going to be fun to fact check.
00:02:07.000We dominate in artificial intelligence.
00:02:09.000So with respect, I think it's an interesting campaign strategy for Ron DeSantis to be bashing a state of 40 million Americans when California simply has no peers.
00:02:20.000Well, that's a pretty slick way of not answering your question.
00:02:23.000He went on a binge of putting out a lot of left-wing platitudes.
00:02:27.000I talked to a lot of the people that have moved from California to Florida, and we never used to get people from California to Florida, or really anywhere in the East Coast.
00:02:35.000It's got the best weather, great natural... Ron, Ron, twice... Excuse me, sir.
00:02:38.000But one of the things that I did, I was talking to a gentleman, a couple... Guys, guys, I'm going to let the debate breathe, but it's his turn.
00:02:48.000So I was talking to a fella who had made the move from California to Florida, and he was telling me that Florida is much better governed, safer, better budget, lower taxes, all this stuff, and he's really happy with the quality of life.
00:03:00.000And then he paused and he said, you know, by the way, I'm Gavin Newsom's father-in-law.
00:03:05.000So we do count Gavin's in-laws as some of the people that have fled California and come to the state of Florida.
00:03:11.000And why are we getting people to come?
00:03:14.000We have a 50-year low in the crime rate.
00:03:16.000You don't see in the last 10 years, we've had a 45% decline in homelessness.
00:03:21.000California's had a 45% increase in homelessness.
00:04:02.000He said a lot of things that were factually untrue, including that 50 year crime law, which his own law enforcement team said should not be using.
00:04:10.000You have yet to address the issue, but I asked you twice.
00:07:23.000These are folks that are blue collar people.
00:07:24.000You're going to force everybody to buy an electric vehicle.
00:07:27.000How are they going to be able to afford electric vehicles if you're working class people?
00:07:31.000And I think the thing about California, they have one of the highest inequality rates because, yeah, they've got Silicon Valley billionaires, they've got a lot of very wealthy people, they've got a lot of people that are on government assistance, but they've hollowed out their middle class.
00:08:34.000And by the way, as you smile and smirk over there, you should know this, the American people.
00:08:39.000Here's a guy who celebrated Bidenomics just this week, celebrating $28 million that came into your state because of the Chips and Science Act, one of the most significant economic plans since FDR.
00:08:51.000I'm proud of the work Biden and Harris have done.
00:09:31.000You support a 6% income tax for people?
00:09:33.000I'm against, I'm against regressive taxes that advantage billionaires and millionaires over working families and the working poor.
00:09:40.000People in a state pay more taxes on the low end than we tax people.
00:09:45.000How does paying $7 a gallon gas help working people?
00:09:50.000That doesn't help working people at all.
00:09:52.000How does paying an 8% sales tax help working people?
00:09:56.000That doesn't help working people at all.
00:09:58.000They have the highest taxes in the nation, people flee to be able to save money to get out of California, and you have working class people that move to these other states, their dollars go much further.
00:10:09.000But here's the thing, they want to take this Bidenomics and they want to double down on this for the next four years.
00:10:15.000How many people are able to afford groceries now compared to what you were doing three or four years ago?
00:10:20.000I talked to people, you know, I talked to a woman who had a cart full of groceries going in and they're ringing it up and it got to be so expensive she has to take a lot of the stuff out.
00:11:49.000A lot of companies have moved to Texas.
00:11:51.000We have had some to Florida, but they've lost a lot of companies to Texas because they're not doing a good job looking out for folks and not creating a good business environment.
00:11:59.000And, you know, when I have people that come to Florida, they tell me, you know, you guys actually want us to succeed in Florida.
00:12:06.000And they feel like when they're in California, they don't want business to succeed and all that stuff.
00:12:13.000I think that's an interesting point with Disney, because I had Disney open during COVID, and we made them a fortune, and we saved a lot of jobs.
00:12:22.000You had Disney closed, inexplicably, for over a year.
00:15:08.000And by the way, both your states, with such different approaches, which is pretty fascinating, were both lower, significantly lower, than the national average.
00:15:17.000These numbers come straight from the CDC.
00:15:19.000So, Governor Newsom, how do you explain that?
00:15:23.000Per capita death rates in the state of Florida were 29%, 29% per capita higher.
00:15:31.000That's not what the stats say right there.
00:17:31.000It's been rather dull at the start, but anyway, we've got a lot to get to.
00:17:38.000Coming up, many important topics that we're going to be talking about, including one issue where you might find some agreement, actually, as we continue the blue state, red state debate.
00:20:52.000Set up here obviously the thing is I um I agree with DeSantis but I like Newsom more.
00:20:59.000I know it's sort of contrarian to say uh you know we like Newsom but I'm not in favor of high taxes and lockdowns and all that stuff and and honestly I think DeSantis
00:21:11.000Is a good governor as much as I don't want him to be the president as much as I think he's a shill and I have my issues with him.
00:22:53.000...seekers at the border since President Biden took office.
00:22:56.000The administration says, well, they don't know how many people actually are in the country illegally.
00:23:01.000Gentlemen, the American people, I ask you, I believe it's your turn, Governor Newsom, have the American people on the issue of borders, you're defending the Biden administration.
00:23:32.000And I'll be honest with you, I think there's probably one person I wouldn't listen to on this topic more than the guy that I'm standing next to, Ron DeSantis.
00:23:40.000He is absolutely, he lacks any credibility on the issue of immigration.
00:23:44.000When he was in Congress, he supported amnesty.
00:23:47.000When he's in Congress, you supported John Boehner's bill.
00:24:28.000Using human beings as pawns, I think, is disqualifying.
00:24:32.000So again, a guy who stands here, who's been out on the Republican debate stage, saying, well, he's going to be tough, he's going to shoot people with backpacks, and that he has a strategy to potentially even invade our second largest trading partner, Mexico, that has a record of supporting amnesty and supporting reforms under the Obama administration, is the last guy to be standing on stage talking about the issue of immigration reform tonight.
00:24:58.000Well, I'll tell you what, it's deja vu all over again with that flurry of lies.
00:25:02.000This is a guy that says the Biden administration is not lying to the public about the border.
00:25:07.000They go to the White House briefing room every day.
00:25:57.000And I'll tell you this, the Martha's Vineyard transport, Martha's Vineyard said it was a sanctuary jurisdiction.
00:26:03.000Kind of reminds me about Gavin Newsom, when he restricted Californians, then he went to the French Laundry.
00:26:09.000These liberal elites, they like to impose burdens on you.
00:26:13.000They don't want to have to face the consequences of their actions.
00:26:15.000So we've got a lot of elites who want open borders, who lecture everybody else about it, and the minute they have to deal with any of the consequences, oh man, all hell breaks loose.
00:26:34.000While some migrants I know want to come to America for a better life for themselves and their family, find the American dream, I totally sympathize with them.
00:26:43.000Many good people fleeing very bad situations abroad.
00:26:47.000But others are abusing the asylum process and in the process in search of where they're coming from.
00:26:55.000We're now learning that many are coming from some of our top geopolitical foes.
00:27:00.000Countries with little to no vetting or people that are coming in.
00:27:05.000Between October 2021, October 2023, border agents encountered
00:27:10.0006,386 nationals from Afghanistan, 3,153 from Egypt, 659 from Iran, the number one state sponsor of terror, 538 from Syria, 12,605 from Russia, and a whopping 26,113 from China.
00:27:32.000Now, my question, the next question goes to you, Governor Newsom.
00:27:36.000What are the odds that Biden's open borders have allowed terrorists and terror cells unvetted into this country?
00:27:45.000Is that a clear and present danger to every American?
00:30:02.000I don't think it's going to happen next year.
00:30:03.000He put a detailed plan and Republicans in Congress refused to act on it.
00:30:06.000It takes Congress to work with the administration.
00:30:10.000With all of these millions and millions of people coming into this country unvetted, the question was and remains, is this a clear and present danger?
00:30:20.000From the countries I put up on the screen, is that a clear and present danger to America?
00:31:03.000Does it worry you that our top geopolitical foes, the number one state sponsor of terror, Iran, China, Russia, Afghanistan, Syria, that they're at our southern border, you're a border state governor.
00:36:01.000What the f... Dude, conservatives are so weird.
00:36:06.000I love Laura, but she is, like, part of the conservative movement, and conservatives are so weird about stuff like that.
00:36:13.000That's such, like, a prototypical thing that conservatives would do, like, get hung up on DeSantis eating pudding with his fingers and then, like, make something really weird and gross about it as a joke.
00:36:25.000It's like the Biden farts thing, you know?
00:36:27.000Remember when Steven Crowder did Biden farts?
00:39:07.000You made it easier for felons to get guns without background checks, without any training.
00:39:13.000These people pleaded with you, parents and the families, to get tough on gun safety.
00:39:17.000And again, you made it easier for felons.
00:39:20.000He said of you, Ron, and I agree with him.
00:39:22.000After you signed that concealed carry bill, which increases the likelihood, Fred Guttenberg said, of more Jamies losing their lives and more Parklands, he called you weak, pathetic, and small.
00:39:34.000So with respect, I appreciate you're talking to police officers in the state of California.
00:39:38.000You may want to spend a little bit more time, not on the Ohio Trail, but other places across this country.
00:39:44.000You may spend a little more time back in your home state and address the murder and gun violence in your own backyard.
00:40:00.000And he's trying to spin that to say California's doing good?
00:40:03.000People are leaving California in droves largely because public safety has collapsed.
00:40:11.000I mean, when Californians come to Florida, one of the things they'll say, it's almost like an out-of-body experience.
00:40:15.000They can go to the store, get toothpaste off the shelf, pay for it, and leave because in a lot of these places in California, everything's under lock and key because they basically legalized retail theft.
00:40:26.000They have chosen in California to put the interests of the criminals over public safety.
00:41:30.000Gentlemen, what are you doing about the gun murder rate in your state?
00:41:34.000We'll let the audience look at the FBI numbers and decide.
00:41:38.000According to the Gun Control Advocacy Group, every town for gun safety.
00:41:46.000California has the most, as you support, I know Governor, restrictive gun laws in the United States.
00:41:53.000Florida has the 19th most restrictive.
00:41:56.000Yet, if you look at the year 2019, when each of you took office, California has had 21 mass shootings, Florida has had 9.
00:42:05.000Now, that is according to a USA Today, AP, Northeastern University database, data.
00:42:14.000Keep in mind, a mass killing is defined as the intentional killing of four or more victims, excluding the deaths of unborn children and the offenders by any means within a 24-period of time.
00:42:28.000I believe, Governor DeSantis, you get this first.
00:42:31.000What California wants to do is they want to make it harder for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves, then they go easy on the criminals who are perpetrating the crime.
00:42:40.000They don't stand up for the men and women of law enforcement.
00:42:43.000That's why a lot of people have left the state, because they don't get the support from the communities that they need.
00:42:48.000And, you know, Gavin told another lie.
00:42:50.000He said we made it easier for felons to do.
00:42:53.000Felons are not allowed to possess firearms.
00:43:08.000People are leaving California in droves because he has failed to stand up for public safety.
00:43:14.000They are on an ideological joyride to let people out of prison early, to go easy on them.
00:43:19.000Heck, your buddy, Gavin's buddy in Los Angeles, Gascon, he doesn't even prosecute.
00:43:25.000When you have, when I was in Southern California for the Reagan debate, a lot of the women tell me they have to take off all their jewelry just to be able to go shopping, because otherwise they're going to get mugged.
00:43:35.000That is the reality that people are facing in California.
00:43:39.000Gavin can try to put lipstick on that pig, but the fact of the matter is, he has failed the people of California.
00:43:45.000I love this guy talking about backing the blue when you dangled pardons for January 6 insurrectionists, 85 of them that were literally charged with attacking law enforcement.
00:43:57.000You talk a big game about backing the blue.
00:44:00.000With all due respect to the crime rate, again, he's not answering the fact that he has a higher murder rate than the state of California, a 66% higher gun death rate than the state of California, and I can easily answer this point, gun safety saves lives.
00:44:12.000I don't think it, I know it, and the data bears that out in the state of California.
00:44:16.000California proudly does lead in terms of common sense gun safety.
00:45:07.000I mean, you're running for President of the United States, you're talking down the great state of California, you're talking down one of the great American cities, Los Angeles.
00:45:15.000And you're doing it because you're trying to obfuscate the facts that you have a higher murder rate in the state of Florida than the state of California.
00:45:21.000We have some of the lowest crime rates we've had in 50 years.
00:45:24.000Well, we'll have more with Governor DeSantis, Governor Gavin Newsom on the other side as we continue the great state debate, blue versus red.
00:47:09.000Good at my caloric deficit recently and I have lost so much weight and I'm gonna blame you if I gain weight from eating this chocolate pudding tonight.
00:47:30.000I know we have a couple Super Chats, so let's... I think that's just the lights in the background, but she's got the red bracelet, the red nails.
00:48:14.000Alright, you know, I just can't I I can't watch I can't I feel like I can't watch anything today everything I put on I'm not really I Don't really vibe with that.
00:49:36.000You know, I don't agree with Newsom, but I don't like Ron DeSantis as a person, so... I'm, uh... I don't know, I'm not really rooting for anybody.
00:49:48.000I guess I'm rooting for Newsom to humiliate DeSantis.
00:50:08.000Hi, welcome back to Hannity, the Great Red State, Blue State Debate.
00:50:10.000We continue with Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, Governor Gavin Newsom of the state of California.
00:50:15.000Gentlemen, let's turn to the issue of parental rights.
00:50:18.000Now, in March of last year, Governor DeSantis, as you know, you signed the Parental Rights in Education Bill, and let me read from it.
00:50:27.000It says, classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade three
00:50:37.000Or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students and according with state standards.
00:50:45.000Critics have called the bill quote homophobic.
00:50:48.000This is the one they branded the don't say gay bill.
00:50:53.000In especially the lower grades, should schools, and maybe all grades, should schools be focusing on reading, writing, math, science, history, computers, and maybe leaving values, considering parents might have different values than teachers at school, to the parents, to religious institutions,
00:54:07.000Follow-up question for you though, and by the way, first governor, yes or no, is, are the book banning issues, is that not a state issue, is that a state issue or a local issue?
00:54:17.000It's local, and he's... Okay, that's all I want to know.
00:54:19.000The home book wasn't there, that was not okay.
00:54:21.000Here's the question I have for you Governor Newsom.
00:54:25.000Um, some of the books you're talking about, one is called, the governor just brought it up, it's called Gender Queer, a memoir, explicit pornographic book showing sex acts.
00:54:35.000Another, Flamer, graphic book about young boys performing sex acts at summer camp.
00:54:41.000This book is Gay, a book containing instructions on the ins and outs of gay sexuality.
00:56:27.000In California, if you're a parent in Iowa or New Hampshire or South Carolina, if you're a minor child,
00:56:35.000Can go to California without your knowledge or without your consent and get hormone therapy, puberty blockers, and a sex change operation all without you knowing or consenting?
00:56:46.000How in the heck is that, you know, honoring parents' rights when you're bringing people from out of state to go around their parents' backs and getting life-altering surgeries?
00:56:59.000That is an assault on parents' rights.
00:58:05.000I told you what I'm doing in public education.
00:58:07.000We created a brand new grade, Pre-K for All.
00:58:10.000We're doing after school and summer school for all.
00:58:12.000We're reimagining the school day, not just the school year.
00:58:15.000We just provided 3.4 million of our students upwards of $2 billion for child savings accounts and the opportunity to start businesses when they graduate.
00:58:26.000We have one of the best records under COVID, during COVID.
00:58:30.000And again, you didn't answer to the fact you had more learning loss.
00:58:34.000Ron DeSantis had more learning loss during COVID.
01:04:31.000And I think that what the position that we have from the modern left, including in California, is that they will take your tax dollars and they will fund abortion all the way to the moment of birth.
01:04:43.000He's wrong when he says the later terms are all because of this.
01:04:47.00088% past 15 weeks are in fact elective from the Florida data.
01:04:53.000But that is really extreme to take your tax dollars and to do this all the way up to the moment of birth.
01:05:00.000He didn't answer your question about any type of protections at all for a baby that has a beating heart, that can feel pain, that is viable.
01:07:47.0005.2 percent GDP growth in the last quarter.
01:07:50.000Those are facts you don't hear on Fox News.
01:07:52.000Fourteen million jobs, ten times more than last three.
01:07:57.000March 31st, 1968, President Lyndon B. Johnson famously said, I shall not seek and I will not accept the nomination of my party for another term as your president.
01:08:10.000Now, despite being an incumbent president who is eligible to run for re-election, Governor Newsom
01:08:16.000I've interviewed you twice on this issue.
01:08:17.000You say you are not running for president in 2024.
01:08:21.000In fact, you recently said, quote, you think that Vice President Harris is naturally the one lined up to run for president if Joe Biden were to bow out.
01:08:31.000Governor Newsom, tonight I ask you, will you make an LBJ-like statement?
01:08:36.000And Governor DeSantis, you say he's running a shadow campaign.
01:08:40.000In your response, I would like you to answer that.
01:08:42.000Will you say, unequivocally, under no circumstances, are you running?
01:10:24.000One of the things I want to accomplish here is the policies that you both implement have a great impact on the citizens of your individual states.
01:10:31.000For years a gallon of gasoline, Governor Newsom, in California has been notably higher
01:10:37.000In your state, than in the state of Florida.
01:11:13.000Could you name, right now, one source of energy that you can bring online in the next three to six months that would be as inexpensive for the people in this country as fossil fuels?
01:11:36.000Since the 1980s, Republican administrations, Democratic administrations have experienced, under their stewardship, have experienced higher gas prices in the state of California.
01:12:06.000We're suing the industry responsible for this climate crisis.
01:12:09.000By the way, the same climate crisis that Ron DeSantis celebrated as human
01:12:15.000Human-caused, who campaigned for a fracking ban, who campaigned to oppose offshore oil drilling, and then two days after he got elected, signed an executive order—by the way, Nikki Haley had you dead to right on this, Ron—signed an executive order doubling down, saying you're adamantly opposed to fracking, adamantly opposed to offshore oil drilling.
01:12:36.000You were celebrated by the Sierra Club for that action.
01:13:13.000That's why people are paying more there.
01:13:14.000What Gavin Newsom wants to do, what he's doing in California, what Biden wants to do nationally is government dictated green energy policies.
01:13:23.000They want to kneecap fossil fuels and reliable energy.
01:13:27.000We've already seen what's happened in California.
01:13:30.000He actually implemented a mandate to buy electric vehicles.
01:13:35.000So pretty soon in California, you're not going to be able to buy a normal car, only electric vehicles.
01:13:40.000And they celebrated that as like a great thing.
01:13:41.000A couple days later, there was a notice from the state government telling all EV owners, do not plug in your EV because they don't have enough grid capacity.
01:13:50.000So he is walking his people into a big time disaster.
01:13:54.000What Biden wants to do is he wants to take the California model.
01:14:24.000Yeah, I mean, honestly, I don't like DeSantis, but of course, agree with him.
01:14:52.000Because, I mean, he's just right about the contradiction there with the electric cars and the problem of intermittency with the green energy.
01:15:06.000It's true, you can't have them both like that.
01:15:10.000And all the rest of it on abortion, etc.
01:20:54.000They're not the freedoms our founding fathers envisioned, but they have contributed to the destruction of the quality of life in California, and the results speak for themselves.
01:21:03.000People are leaving the state because they have failed in addressing the homeless population.
01:21:10.000I mean, here's a guy who's criminalizing teachers, criminalizing doctors, criminalizing librarians, and criminalizing women that seek their reproductive care.
01:22:45.000Why do you not want them to be able to compete?
01:22:46.000He's not going to let me talk, so I'll talk to the American people.
01:22:49.000I don't understand why you want to discriminate against them.
01:22:53.000Again, I'll remind you that the blueprint, the blueprint for Florida has put Ron DeSantis 41 points down to Donald Trump as you try to get tough and out-Trump Trump.
01:23:01.000On the issue of homelessness, it's been an issue for decades, decades in the making in the state of California, ever since we started shuttering down our mental health institutions back in the day, in Ronald Reagan's day.
01:23:13.000The difference is I'm the first governor in California history to take this head-on.
01:23:18.000We are investing unprecedented resources, more accountability.
01:23:21.000We've gotten 68,000 people off the streets.
01:23:24.000Close to 6,000 encampments we've gotten off the streets.
01:23:28.000We've also invested in unprecedented resources in reforming our behavioral health system.
01:23:33.000Ron has literally the worst mental health system in America, forgive me, outside of Mississippi and Texas.
01:23:41.000And so with all due respect to being lectured on some of these topics, Ron DeSantis is not the one I'm going to be listening to.
01:23:56.000You may be asking, what is that plotting?
01:23:58.000Well, this is an app where they plot the human feces that are found on the streets of San Francisco.
01:24:04.000And you see how almost the whole thing is covered, because that is what has happened in one of the previous greatest cities this country's ever had.
01:24:12.000Human feces is now a fact of life, except
01:24:16.000When a communist dictator comes to town, then they cleaned up the streets.
01:24:20.000They lined the streets with Chinese flags.
01:24:25.000So they're willing to do it for a communist dictator, but they're not willing to do it for their own country.
01:24:32.000There are two very important issues we have not hit.
01:24:34.000After the Hamas terror attacks on October the 7th, we have seen what is nothing short of a disturbing outbreak of virulent hatred, anti-Semitism around the world in the halls of our Congress, on American streets, on college campuses.
01:24:51.000Last month, outside in Sydney Opera House,
01:24:55.000In Australia, we've seen it all over Europe, but in Australia, anti-Israeli protesters literally in this day and age chanting, gas the Jews, F the Jews.
01:25:05.000In American cities, we have protesters calling for global Islamic war and demanding that Israel be wiped off the map, or in the words of Congresswoman Tlaib, from the river to the sea.
01:25:16.000Israel, meanwhile, is vowing to eradicate the terrorist group Hamas.
01:25:20.000But according to a report in the New York Times this week, U.S.
01:25:22.000officials have warned Israel that they need more to fight more surgically in Gaza.
01:28:04.000Well first, in Florida, we banned China from buying land in our state because you're right, you don't want them buying farmland or land near military bases.
01:28:11.000We also got the Confucius Institutes out of our universities.
01:28:14.000China should not be involved in our universities at all.
01:28:17.000What you need to do is you need to have hard power in the Indo-Pacific to deter China's ambitions.
01:28:23.000You need to take the economy and we need to decouple from China.
01:28:26.000We're dependent on them for so many things.
01:28:29.000And then finally, we need to get serious about their influence in this country.
01:28:32.000They shouldn't be able to buy farmland anywhere.
01:28:34.000I can tell you this, I would not go to China and grovel in front of Xi like Gavin Newsom did.
01:28:39.000He says China's a partner on climate change.
01:28:43.000China's adding two new coal plants every year.
01:28:45.000China's laughing at us with what they're doing.
01:28:49.000So yes, they're the number one threat we face, and we need to take it seriously, and Joe Biden is not doing that.
01:28:54.000This is just a reminder, you know, I think it's a question some people are probably asking.
01:28:59.000I know Nikki Haley's campaign is asking, when are you going to drop out and at least give Nikki Haley a shot to take down Donald Trump in this nomination?
01:30:31.000When I got orders as a Navy Lieutenant to go to Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, I had not spent any real time in California in my life.
01:30:39.000Florida native, and I'm very proud of the state, but I got down there, and that strand is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, and then all up and down, just a tremendous coastline.
01:30:49.000I do believe California has more natural advantages than any state in the country, which is why, when you have so many people leaving on net,
01:34:18.000I don't like I Don't like the mayor's and I don't like Newsom this whole I mean he just comes across totally insincere full of shit and And fake so I don't know I don't really like him I thought I thought I would have liked him more I thought that I
01:34:40.000I thought I would have liked him, but I don't.
01:36:25.000I mean, and I'll probably be doing it at some point because I want to make more money and I want to scale things up and all that, but it's just like, bruh.
01:36:34.000Every show you watch, it's freaking, hey, don't forget to buy this thing.
01:41:21.000I think one of the things, and Kayleigh said at the outset, there's no doubt that Gavin Newsom will be the most important, the most forceful and articulate advocate on behalf of Democrats in this 2024 election.
01:41:44.000In the face of, I think, whether we like it or not, or agree or not, one of the most powerful issues in this election in 2024 is going to be this issue of reproductive rights for women.
01:41:56.000It's not going to overtake everything, but it will certainly be one of the most important issues.
01:42:00.000And I think where we are six months from today with regard to gas prices and inflation,
01:42:36.000And I thought a lot of people thought he might have fared against a guy in our party, Gavin Newsom, who I thought did well tonight, but I thought Governor DeSantis did a pretty good job tonight as well, too, defending his state and his record.
01:42:50.000What did you think, Kayleigh, about the answer when I quoted LBJ in terms of Gavin?
01:42:56.000There's a lot of suspicion, a lot of people around the country, polls are bearing this out now more than ever, that people are seeing Joe Biden as weak and frail and in cognitive decline.
01:43:08.000That was not something that Gavin Newsom wanted to admit.
01:43:11.000But when you bring up the issue of whether or not if his party came to him, whether he's been very clear in all three interviews that I've had with him, tonight being a debate obviously, I'm moderating, but that he thinks that it would be the Vice President, Vice President Harris, and not him up next.
01:43:32.000If you say it that often, you have to take somebody at their word, don't you?
01:43:38.000Well, as a political figure, there are certain things you have to say.
01:43:41.000This is why every single person, probably in all of time, who has run for president says, oh no, you know, it's not my time.
01:44:14.000It was someone, by his words, that seemed to be clearly posturing in the event of a red wave, either running himself and taking on Joe Biden.
01:44:22.000I don't really care that much what she says.
01:44:25.000All right well let's watch some of these other streams for a minute and then I'll give my recap and then we'll do super chats and then we'll call it a night.
01:44:35.000I feel like this whole thing is bizarre and Gavin Newsom pointed it out before the debate and I think other people said as much.
01:44:47.000It strategically doesn't make any sense and I think maybe this is
01:44:52.000I don't want to say this will cause DeSantis to lose, but I think this certainly does signal that he is on the downward trajectory.
01:45:03.000And what I mean by that is, it was apparent almost exactly a year ago that
01:45:12.000The Trump vs. non-Trump race would be a Trump vs. DeSantis race.
01:45:18.000What I mean by that is he was the apparent challenger for Trump in the nomination, the most formidable, and at that time basically the only viable name in that conversation as to who could be a viable challenger.
01:45:38.000Trump was less popular a year ago than he is today, a lot less popular.
01:45:42.000And DeSantis was a lot more popular a year ago than he is today, in his own state and nationally.
01:45:51.000So one year ago, the state of the GOP primary was Trump and this apparent challenger, DeSantis, with some background noise.
01:46:01.000DeSantis got in the race very late, relatively speaking.
01:46:05.000You know, Trump got in in November 22.
01:46:07.000DeSantis got in, I think, in April or May 23.
01:46:09.000And DeSantis only has gone down since he entered the race and has just disappointed.
01:46:16.000And the viability argument seems to be disappearing.
01:47:04.000Is it seems that the establishment has abandoned DeSantis and they're now coalescing behind Haley?
01:47:09.000Everyone's been talking about that, that she's been the pick for Fox News, she's the pick of the New York Post, she's the pick of the New York Times, Washington Post, etc.
01:47:21.000And so they're saying that they're abandoning DeSantis, they're coalescing around Haley
01:47:27.000And as that has happened over the past couple weeks, now you have DeSantis doing this totally strange debate, which in my view is a strategic blunder.
01:47:38.000This is not a move that advances his presidential campaign.
01:47:43.000And if that is the case, then it's a giant diversion.
01:48:10.000And it's sort of weird, and it lowers him as well, because you're supposed to be aiming for the White House, meaning you're taking aim, politically speaking, at the President of the United States.
01:48:24.000You're taking aim within the primary in the nominating contest at the former president, the presumptive nominee of your own party.
01:50:41.000If they don't have a national profile, if they don't have a big campaign, they go all in on Iowa because a strong performance in the first contest will give them momentum in the race.
01:50:56.000If you sort of concentrate your forces and defeat in detail,
01:51:00.000If you concentrate your energy on Iowa, on the first state, you do really well.
01:51:06.000People say, oh, maybe this guy can win the nomination, and as the race narrows, because the race narrows in those first four, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina, those are the first four in the first month.
01:51:20.000And typically people, that's when they start to drop out, because that's when the rubber meets the road.
01:51:24.000When people start to vote and people see, you know, who's getting a lot of votes, who's getting delegates, who is viable to go the distance, that's when the race narrows, and that's when, you know, more market share sort of opens up and, you know, people sort of prove their mettle.
01:51:41.000If people start to drop out and the race tightens and it becomes a two- or three-person race, and if DeSantis has a strong finish in Iowa,
01:51:50.000Then the logic goes that he'll do well in New Hampshire, and, you know, by South Carolina, by the time the thing is in full swing, it becomes a two-man race between him and Trump, and that's when he can really make the case, and it's really a different stage of the contest.
01:54:28.000That's the difference between him and Trump.
01:54:30.000And that's the difference between someone who can be competitive at the national level and someone who is destined to be middle management like that.
01:54:38.000Somebody that's destined to be a statewide officeholder and nothing more.
01:55:38.000I don't think that he did himself any favors
01:55:43.000You know because I think that Newsom has been angling for a long time Like that he's gonna appeal to conservatives, I don't know if you can I don't know if you know this or not, but Newsom has been Saying like what he's been saying positive things about Trump, and he's been saying that he'll go on Fox News and all this and so I think that Newsom has this sort of
01:56:08.000He thinks that he's gonna be a candidate that'll be supported by maybe people in the middle or try and win that culture war that, you know, I think people like Tucker and Joe Rogan have been winning lately, and I think that he just alienated himself from conservatives.
01:56:21.000I think he may, like I said, I came into this kind of open-minded about Newsom and he came across like a giant liberal douchebag, and I am a contrarian.
02:00:27.000...now in the primary, is all with Nikki Haley in the conversation, and where you're seeing after the debates, and I'm not... Listen to her voice.
02:02:13.000They know their neighborhoods are no longer... Alright, whatever.
02:02:16.000Alright, let me read Super Chats, then I'm gonna get out of here.
02:02:20.000Let's see, let's take a look at our Super Chats.
02:02:23.000Let's put something on in the background.
02:02:25.000Let's let this run in the background, I guess.
02:02:29.000All right let's see I don't think we have usually when I do these debate streams nobody super chats you know I think people are like oh he's not he's not really doing a show so they're like we don't you know no super chats all right we got we got about 20 or 30 though so let's see
02:03:20.000Also who approved this DeSantis has everything to lose from this Derry Snowskin for Newsom.
02:03:25.000Yeah exactly that's what I'm saying he's got everything he's the presidential candidate Newsom's not even running Newsom survived a recall like
02:03:54.000On the other hand, DeSantis is in the middle of a competitive primary within his own party.
02:04:01.000And these attacks where Newsom gets to say, you're 40 points behind, Nikki Haley's kicking your ass, when are you going to lay down and give her a shot?
02:04:10.000These are things that, it's a mistake for DeSantis to be there and have those things said to him by a liberal.
02:13:34.000Your account does not show up on Rumble Home for this and searching DeSantis v Newsome live your account still does not come up in the search results.
02:13:49.000California's been going to hell for a long time.
02:13:53.000Glenn the Gro I percent $10, the biggest takeaway from this gay debate is CIA asset Hannity pressing constantly on the Iranian immigration and how it is going to lead to another 911.
02:14:04.000Nick is it rational to be afraid of another false flag attack by Israel?
02:14:18.000Is it rational to be afraid of something?
02:14:21.000Like, that's a dumb... Like, why'd you phrase it like an idiot?
02:14:25.000Yeah, no, it's very possible that there will be a false flag terror attack committed by Israeli intelligence, made to look like Iran or one of the Iranian proxies.
02:14:38.000Yeah, I think everyone knows that's a possibility.
02:15:47.000There's very high odds you die in a car crash, plane crash, get killed by a black person, you know, die of fentanyl overdose, stuff like that.
02:15:59.000That's way more likely than you get blown up by Israel.
02:19:17.000It's my understanding that China is more socially conservative than Russia.
02:19:24.000Although, that's not an extremely educated take, but it's my understanding I think they're a little bit more traditional and a little bit more socially conservative.
02:19:37.000Because Russia just had a total social revolution with
02:19:44.000The Bolsheviks that I I don't think the same thing necessarily happened in China I don't necessarily think it was as extreme because communism in China.
02:19:53.000It's sort of a different flavor It's a different character than it is in Russia so I Think that China retained a little bit more of their traditional character than Russia did different communist revolutions
02:20:11.000But I mean, but besides all of that, I mean, I favor Russia.
02:20:14.000Yeah, absolutely, because it's Christian, at least historically.
02:20:18.000And I also favor it because it's European.
02:20:21.000Well, it is Asiatic, but you know, Slavs are arguably European or European adjacent.
02:20:29.000Some are not going to like that, but you know, I mean, no, but they are European.
02:21:24.000ADL Frazzledrip is a rumored dark web snuff film showing Hillary Clinton and Uma Abedin sexually assaulting and murdering a young girl, drinking her blood and taking turns wearing the skin from her face as a mask.
02:21:43.000The video was allegedly discovered on Anthony Weiner's laptop in a folder labeled life insurance and police officers who've reportedly seen it were so horrified they were driven to suicide.
02:21:55.000Conspiracy theorists have pointed to the video, which does not actually exist, to support long-standing conspiracy theories.
02:22:57.000Someone says anyone who has seen it kills themselves.
02:23:03.000I Part of me wants to say send me the link another part of me doesn't want to watch that actually another part of me Doesn't want that on my computer because I feel like someone would come and murder me People are saying it's real it's literally real Dude, you don't want to see it
02:23:49.000Frazzledrip, this is the purported file name of a snuff film found on the laptop of Wiener in a folder named Life Insurance.
02:23:57.000It was said to make even the most hardened New York City Police veterans cry.
02:24:01.000It's said to show Wiener's wife Uma Abedin and Clinton performing satanic ritual abuse on a young girl, surgically removing her face, wearing it as a mask to flood the victim's bloodstream with adrenaline.
02:24:14.000Blood drank in this state is an elite drug of choice called adrenochrome.
02:27:23.000Mike Van sent $3, when Hannity was getting walked over by Newsome could have muted his mic but instead did this passive-aggressive whining.
02:27:31.000I would appreciate it if you guys could cooperate lol.
02:29:22.000I'm ready for Keith Woods to just take all this off my plate and then I can just go live in the jungles of Vietnam in retirement.
02:29:33.000I can take my small fortune and go live in Vietnam or wherever and live out my days playing Call of War and eating whatever they got over there, eating centipede on a stick or whatever.
02:29:51.000Grilled grasshopper on a fucking stick.
02:29:55.000So I don't have to have everybody constantly up my... When's the last time you went to a doctor?
02:31:40.000If I start going to the gym and I start measuring my macronutrients and blah blah blah, you know, maybe in 12 months you may notice a subtle change.
02:31:57.000And does their macros and this and that.
02:32:00.000I mean, they will not put on as much muscle as someone on testosterone that eats nothing but ice cream.
02:32:06.000If I go on an ice cream and chocolate diet, all these things that, you know, sugar is bad for you, seed oils.
02:32:14.000I could go and eat McDonald's Big Macs and ice cream and chocolate chip cookies and be on steroids and hormones.
02:32:24.000And I will look way better than someone who has a perfect diet and no steroids.
02:32:29.000And that's how you know none of that is real.
02:32:32.000You know, someone could take all the supplements.
02:32:35.000I took my magnesium in the morning and I took my vitamin D twice a day and the C and I got 150 milligrams of protein or 150 grams of protein and blah blah blah and it's like oh really?
02:34:32.000Okay, because I did not listen to this song at all this year So I think I had it on repeat on accident at some point, but it was sleepyhead by passion pit which I I did not listen to that song Maybe more than twice this whole year, but for whatever reason that was my number one.
