Summary

In this episode of America First, host Nicholas J. Fuentes talks about the Yang Gang, universal basic income, and why you should not be afraid of the idea. He also discusses the Trump administration's new trade deal with China, and the fact that America has actually had a UBI for over a century. And why it's not a radical idea, it's already here in America! And why you shouldn't fear $1,000 a month, because it's been around for a long time! And, of course, we'll talk about Trump's new border wall, and how it's actually not that hard to get a deal that keeps us all on the same page, and keeps us in control of our borders and our economy. You're not going to get much better than that, folks! Tweet me if you have any thoughts or opinions on any of the topics covered in this episode, and we'll get them on the show! 00:00:06.000 Americanism, not globalism, will be our credo.
00:00:12.000 It's going to be only America first.
00:00:17.000 America first.
00:00:22.000 The American people will come first once again.
00:00:48.000 We're good to go.
00:01:19.000 Good evening, everybody.
00:01:20.000 You're watching America First.
00:01:22.000 My name is Nicholas J. Fuentes.
00:01:23.000 We have a great show for you tonight.
00:01:25.000 Very excited to be with you here for another great day.
00:01:29.000 You know, I'm in a much better state of mind ever since we have sort of taken a step back.
00:01:36.000 From the Trump train.
00:01:37.000 Every day that I don't have to compile my notes together for how we're going to defend the latest Trump failure setback.
00:01:46.000 Every day that this happens I feel a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
00:01:51.000 I no longer carry the responsibility
00:01:55.000 To be the white pill dealer for every Trump voter.
00:01:57.000 To be a de facto liaison for the press office and the White House.
00:02:02.000 Now I can just tell it like it is.
00:02:06.000 We always tell it like it is, but honestly it does feel good.
00:02:09.000 I do feel like
00:02:12.000 All the caring, all the conviction.
00:02:14.000 Now that we've gone Joker mode, it does feel a little bit nicer.
00:02:17.000 But we've got a great show for you tonight.
00:02:19.000 There are some interesting things that I've got for you to discuss.
00:02:24.000 Now, yesterday we talked about the Yang Gang.
00:02:27.000 Alright?
00:02:28.000 We talked about getting the bag.
00:02:29.000 I said some things which made some people uncomfortable.
00:02:32.000 Some of the boomers, I could tell, weren't really on board with it.
00:02:36.000 I could tell a lot of the mogapeds, a lot of the hardcore free market people weren't totally on board with it, but I made a discovery last night and this is something I think that's going to shock everybody and rock your world.
00:02:51.000 Of course, Andrew Yang, the fixture and the flagship component of his platform is the universal basic income.
00:02:59.000 He wants to give everybody
00:03:02.000 $1,000 a month, no strings attached, no matter who you are, how much you make, what race you are, everybody gets $1,000.
00:03:08.000 And people say that's a radical proposal.
00:03:11.000 You know, welfare, Social Security, Medicaid, nobody bats an eye.
00:03:14.000 But you promise $1,000 a month to every man, woman, and child in the country and everybody loses their minds.
00:03:22.000 And I did a little research last night and I discovered it's actually not such a radical idea.
00:03:28.000 I actually discovered that the UBI already exists in America!
00:03:33.000 For people that are saying, how could he get this done?
00:03:36.000 It would be impossible!
00:03:37.000 How could he afford it?
00:03:38.000 It would be too much money!
00:03:41.000 I looked into it.
00:03:42.000 I did the research so you didn't have to.
00:03:44.000 And it was tough because these statistics, believe me, they're very hard to find.
00:03:48.000 And you'll understand why.
00:03:50.000 But I discovered that America has actually had UBI for over a century!
00:03:56.000 And so we're going to be discussing that tonight, why you really shouldn't fear the UBI, why you shouldn't fear $1,000 a month, because really it's already here in America as we speak.
00:04:07.000 You know, it's sort of like when conservatives whine and complain about socialism or big government.
00:04:11.000 It's already here.
00:04:13.000 It's been here.
00:04:14.000 And hey, we're doing just fine.
00:04:15.000 So we're going to talk about that.
00:04:16.000 I've got a whiteboard prepared for you.
00:04:18.000 This one is a serious whiteboard.
00:04:19.000 I know I might have tricked some of you guys yesterday.
00:04:22.000 I said I had this big...
00:04:24.000 Elaborate whiteboard and then I pulled up what is really quite simple, which is, hey, it's a thousand dollars a month.
00:04:30.000 But tonight I have a real whiteboard for you to sort of illustrate my point on that matter, on the universal basic income, why you shouldn't be afraid of it.
00:04:38.000 And so we'll discuss that and then we will talk about the latest contribution from the Trump administration.
00:04:44.000 Boy,
00:04:45.000 We just keep winning.
00:04:47.000 You know, when Donald Trump said during the campaign, you're going to get tired of winning and we're going to win and you're going to say, please, Mr. President, stop winning.
00:04:56.000 It's too much.
00:04:56.000 And I'm going to say, I don't give a damn.
00:04:59.000 I, it didn't really make sense to me because here we are two years later and there's no wall and we're still involved in all the wars and the trade deficits are still out of control and they're probably still going to kick us all off social media.
00:05:11.000 So I was a little confused.
00:05:12.000 I was like, wait a second.
00:05:13.000 We're not doing any winning, actually.
00:05:16.000 Well, you know, the corporations are doing the winning, but we're not doing any winning.
00:05:20.000 And then a little lightbulb came on in my head, and I said, oh, wait a minute!
00:05:24.000 Hey, wait a second!
00:05:25.000 When he said, you're gonna get tired of winning, you're gonna get bored with winning, we're gonna win so big, when he said it at the Republican National Convention.
00:05:33.000 He wasn't talking to us, he was talking to Israel!
00:05:39.000 Oh, so that's what he meant by we're gonna get tired of winning.
00:05:43.000 The we was not the American people, it was Jews!
00:05:48.000 Oh, so now it makes a lot more sense.
00:05:51.000 And so we're gonna get into that towards the end of the show.
00:05:54.000 That'll be the feature of the show, just the latest victory
00:05:58.000 For Trump's base, which is of course Zog, the Jewish lobby, the Israel lobby, these are all separate things.
00:06:05.000 He is now officially, or he's moving towards, rather, he's moving towards officially recognizing the Golan Heights as Israeli territory.
00:06:13.000 And you might be thinking to yourself, what's the Golan Heights?
00:06:16.000 You know, because you live in America, and the Golan Heights aren't in America, so you might be like, why are we doing that?
00:06:23.000 Well, I'll explain why that's a very important thing for Bibi Netanyahu, the Likud party, and Israel, and we'll get into why that's such a big deal that we're recognizing their sovereignty.
00:06:33.000 But, you know, I think it's a good thing.
00:06:34.000 I think, you know, they are our closest ally, the only democracy in the Middle East.
00:06:38.000 Hey, it's only right that our presidents serve them.
00:06:42.000 So, we're gonna get into all of that.
00:06:44.000 I gotta tell you, though, before we jump into the news,
00:06:47.000 I almost wasn't going to come on the show tonight.
00:06:49.000 I almost wasn't going to come on because I tell you, last night, you know, I do the show, I have a little bit of dinner afterwards, and I'm hard at work in the content kitchen, alright?
00:06:59.000 I'm making phone calls, I'm making spreadsheets, there's big things happening, big plans in the works.
00:07:04.000 I'm inspired!
00:07:05.000 Now that we're in the yanking, I have to say I'm inspired!
00:07:09.000 You know, even the mere suggestion of, you know, alleviating financial insecurity or regulating Twitter and YouTube, now that all that stress is off my shoulders, I can feel my IQ rising 13 points.
00:07:23.000 I can feel my stress levels going down.
00:07:25.000 I can feel my happiness going up.
00:07:27.000 It really is a transformative effect when you put humanity first, but...
00:07:31.000 You know, last night I had my dinner, and I'm hard at work, I'm inspired to make humanity first again, so to speak.
00:07:38.000 And then I got hungry, you know, towards midnight, and the kitchen was closed, Mom wasn't gonna make me anything.
00:07:43.000 That's the thing, she goes to bed at like 10, so I'm just kind of out of luck afterwards.
00:07:47.000 Normally, I'll just I'll just sort of go to like the fridge or the pantry and I'll just keep going back and forth and eventually... Do you want me to just make you something?
00:07:55.000 Oh, that would be so great!
00:07:57.000 But that's not an option at midnight.
00:07:58.000 So I go out to Wendy's and I go through the drive-thru and I'm hungry.
00:08:03.000 And I say, I had a taste for the chicken nuggets.
00:08:06.000 I had a taste for some tendies.
00:08:07.000 So I say, I'll get the 10-piece nuggets and fries.
00:08:10.000 And then I thought, well, I'm really hungry.
00:08:12.000 I don't know.
00:08:13.000 I might as well.
00:08:13.000 So I got a Dave's single also.
00:08:16.000 So then I go and I park.
00:08:17.000 And I like to eat in the car.
00:08:18.000 I don't like to eat it at home because then it's not warm anymore.
00:08:21.000 So I go and I park and I'm just kind of hanging out and I'm just slamming back 10 chicken nuggets, the burger, the fries.
00:08:28.000 And then at like 4 or 5 a.m.
00:08:29.000 I'm like curled up in bed.
00:08:32.000 I'm like delirious.
00:08:33.000 I get out of bed and I'm discharging.
00:08:37.000 I think most of the meal exited out the front.
00:08:40.000 I think most of the meal ended up coming back from where it came from.
00:08:44.000 I don't think so.
00:09:01.000 Mr. Yang for even having the show because I was it was like six o'clock.
00:09:05.000 I'm like, you know, there's nothing really going on in the news I'm not feeling so great, but I said no I I have to do it.
00:09:10.000 I've been I've been too lazy I've been Canceling too much.
00:09:15.000 But anyway, we're gonna dive right into our first story here tonight, which is
00:09:20.000 You know, again, this might come as a shock to people because they see all the activity going on with Andrew Yang and rightly, I think somewhat rightly, the first instinct is to say, and this is sort of carrying on from last night's show, because this is a pretty remarkable thing that's happening.
00:09:36.000 This entrepreneur, this
00:09:38.000 You know, nobody.
00:09:39.000 A candidate with no name recognition is now in the betting markets, in the polls, rising rapidly in funding.
00:09:46.000 I mean, it is crazy what's happening with Yang.
00:09:49.000 This didn't even happen with Donald Trump.
00:09:50.000 Understand this.
00:09:52.000 You know, when Donald Trump declared in July 2015
00:09:56.000 Even he did not see this kind of surging effect.
00:09:59.000 I don't believe that Andrew Yang did.
00:10:01.000 And this is unmatched by anybody else in the field.
00:10:03.000 In fact, the more mainstream candidates like Kamala Harris and others are having disappointing numbers in terms of engagement, in terms of search volume, in terms of some of the other things going on, fundraising.
00:10:17.000 So that Andrew Yang is rising, that his movement is being spread far and wide in the dissident right, I mean, this is a big story.
00:10:24.000 This is something everybody's talking about.
00:10:26.000 Even journalists are picking up on this.
00:10:29.000 There was an article, for example, today in the Daily Beast talking about how, oh, Andrew Yang's message is appealing to white nationalists like Richard Spencer, Faith Goldie, and Nick Fuentes, which
00:10:40.000 They should be put in jail for- I don't understand how they can continue to do that.
00:10:46.000 I'm not this, I'm not this, I'm not a white nationalist, and then every- oh, white nationalist is this guy, then this and the other thing.
00:10:54.000 Anyway, but so they do this whole piece about it and it really is a game changer for the Democratic primary.
00:10:59.000 It really is a wild card.
00:11:01.000 And this is why I've been saying
00:11:03.000 For so long.
00:11:03.000 And I've been saying this for years, actually, now, that we really can't make any predictions about 2020 because the race hasn't even started.
00:11:13.000 I mean, we don't even know who all is going to be in the field.
00:11:16.000 It looks like Beto will announce.
00:11:18.000 It looks like Biden will announce.
00:11:19.000 But, I mean, they haven't even announced yet.
00:11:21.000 And we don't know.
00:11:22.000 Will Andrew Yang rise up?
00:11:23.000 How will the progressives fare?
00:11:24.000 And so on.
00:11:25.000 But, anyway, so this is a continuation off last night.
00:11:28.000 It is a very important subject.
00:11:30.000 What we're going to be focusing on tonight is this human-centered capitalism idea, right?
00:11:35.000 The UBI.
00:11:36.000 That's what it's about.
00:11:37.000 And there are a few misconceptions about the UBI, the Universal Basic Income, the proposal again, which he's calling the Freedom Dividend, to give everybody $1,000 a month.
00:11:47.000 Again, regardless of income, regardless of age, regardless of anything else, you just get it.
00:11:52.000 Which is, first and foremost, is not supposed to be like a permanent thing for people thinking, oh, we're going to live off of UBI.
00:11:58.000 I mean, you could try that.
00:12:00.000 We're good to go!
00:12:17.000 And wages are stagnating or going down, we find that this is having a very bad effect on people.
00:12:22.000 The middle class is being hollowed out.
00:12:24.000 And a lot of liars, a lot of neoliberal liars will say, that's because everybody's so well off now.
00:12:29.000 You know, that's the myth that they peddle, is the reason that
00:12:33.000 The middle class is being completely eliminated and hollowed out is because people are getting richer.
00:12:37.000 Well, I mean, maybe to a certain extent, some people are sort of breaking away because they're moving on to the upper middle class.
00:12:43.000 But regardless of that, what you see is that you're having poor and you're having rich.
00:12:48.000 The poor people don't really have a shot.
00:12:50.000 So many people oppose this universal basic income on the grounds that, well, this represents welfare.
00:12:56.000 This represents a give me.
00:12:58.000 This represents a government handout.
00:12:59.000 This will incentivize immigration and everything else.
00:13:02.000 And I'll say, like I said last night, none of these objections really matter because, number one, country is doomed.
00:13:09.000 Number two, the rules don't matter.
00:13:10.000 But I just want to show for any of the remaining doubters that we actually already have universal basic income.
00:13:15.000 Even if you
00:13:17.000 You don't like it?
00:13:17.000 You think it's not feasible?
00:13:18.000 You think it's not affordable?
00:13:20.000 Um, sweetie, we already have it in the country.
00:13:23.000 And I've got a whiteboard to sort of demonstrate exactly what I mean by that.
00:13:26.000 Some people might be thinking, Nick, what are you talking about?
00:13:29.000 I've never heard of universal basic income.
00:13:31.000 This is the first time I've heard about this.
00:13:33.000 We don't have that in this country.
00:13:35.000 In this country, you have to work!
00:13:37.000 In this country, you have to pull yourself up by your bootstraps
00:13:41.000 You have to grind, alright?
00:13:42.000 If that means you're working at McDonald's until 5, and then you're driving Uber basically at a loss until 11, and you know, you don't have healthcare and everything else, well, that's just the American dream, says the boomer on their yacht.
00:13:54.000 But I'm gonna show you that that's actually not true.
00:13:57.000 That's actually not how it works in this country.
00:13:59.000 We already have it, to a big extent, for a lot of people.
00:14:03.000 So I'm gonna show you what I mean by this.
00:14:05.000 This is a little visual summary of universal basic income in America.
00:14:11.000 Now this whiteboard might upset some people, it might upset some of my viewers, but it is totally factual.
00:14:19.000 All these numbers are from the U.S.
00:14:21.000 Census, and like I said at the top of the show, these stats are difficult to come by.
00:14:26.000 They don't really want you to know this information because
00:14:29.000 Maybe that might breed conflict because, you know, it tends to ruffle some feathers when some people are going to work every day and they have to pay taxes and other people don't go to work every day and they get money anyway.
00:14:43.000 They get money from the taxes.
00:14:45.000 So we're going to go over here in pretty great detail, some specificity, the universal basic income program that we already have.
00:14:53.000 If you look at senior citizens, so people over the age of 65, this is baby boomers, okay?
00:14:59.000 People over the age of 65, I believe is what?
00:15:02.000 1959, is it?
00:15:04.000 Am I doing my math correctly there?
00:15:06.000 Let me, I don't know.
00:15:09.000 I'm live, so I can't, I'm not gonna do the math live.
00:15:11.000 What's 2019 minus 65?
00:15:15.000 Yeah, oh 1954.
00:15:16.000 So the first 10 years of baby boomers, these qualified seniors, senior citizens in this country, 90% of them are receiving some form of social security.
00:15:28.000 40% of seniors would be below the poverty line if not for social security.
00:15:32.000 So this is a fun, this is a fun little game I like to play.
00:15:36.000 A fun little trick which I think we're gonna play throughout the Democratic primary.
00:15:40.000 The next time you're online, the next time you're at a campaign event or anything like that,
00:15:46.000 And you see some baby boomer waddle up to you in some like Hawaiian shirt and their Keens or those New Balances, you know those big blocky white nurse shoes.
00:15:56.000 And they say, hey Sonny, you just won a government handout.
00:16:01.000 When I was your age, back in my day, we had to work for our keep.
00:16:05.000 You know, something to that effect.
00:16:06.000 These annoying
00:16:08.000 People, you know, the next time you hear something like that, ask them if they're on social security.
00:16:13.000 Okay?
00:16:13.000 So the next time you hear about, oh, well, universal basic income, we can't afford that, that's a government handout, and all this other stuff about the dignity of hard work and capitalism from these turning point boomers, why don't you ask them if they're on social security?
00:16:26.000 Because nine out of ten of them are gonna say, yeah, I'm on social security, and four out of ten rely on that social security.
00:16:33.000 And look, hey,
00:16:34.000 For a lot of baby boomers there's there's uh I will say there is some exception.
00:16:39.000 I have certain people in my family who probably deserve it but you know look if these baby boomers are coming around saying hey we're gonna protect the bag you're not getting anything from the bag we have to tell them uh you can't have everything in the bag you're over there hoarding the bag pretending the bag doesn't exist say we could never afford the bag
00:16:58.000 Getting the bag is immoral and undignified.
00:17:00.000 Yeah, well you're sitting on the biggest friggin bag, and it's bankrupting the country.
00:17:05.000 So, 90% of seniors, they're getting a UBI.
00:17:08.000 Isn't that interesting how that works?
00:17:11.000 Blacks!
00:17:13.000 I'm a black man myself, alright?
00:17:14.000 I'm 1.5% black, and hey, you might be thinking to yourself,
00:17:20.000 I deserve it.
00:17:20.000 Alright, black people deserve it.
00:17:22.000 They've been through enough in this country.
00:17:24.000 They were slaves, and then people were mean to them, and they couldn't go to the same schools, and what's happening now?
00:17:32.000 Now people are crossing to the other side of the street at midnight when they're roaming the streets looking for trouble.
00:17:38.000 You know, so I get it.
00:17:39.000 Maybe you're thinking, well they, why should they work?
00:17:41.000 Why should they work?
00:17:42.000 They deserve to live for free.
00:17:44.000 Well, in spite of that, 42% of blacks are actually on government assistance.
00:17:48.000 Now again, that's fine.
00:17:49.000 They deserve it.
00:17:51.000 Even though they're better off than they are in Africa.
00:17:54.000 Whatever, it doesn't matter.
00:17:56.000 But they are about 42%, and I would imagine probably a little bit more, because I don't believe these numbers include the full extent of state and federal assistance.
00:18:05.000 So basically, the next time you see... And by the way, blacks are the ones that are going to have a problem with UBI.
00:18:10.000 But the next time you see a black person, flip a coin.
00:18:13.000 If it's heads, they're on welfare.
00:18:15.000 If it's tails, they're not.
00:18:16.000 Or maybe they are.
00:18:17.000 And again, I hope that doesn't come across as offensive.
00:18:20.000 I say this as a proud black man myself.
00:18:22.000 And I'm very proud of my American black ancestry.
00:18:26.000 I imagine I probably had
00:18:27.000 American slave ancestors in this country.
00:18:29.000 So, you know, believe me, I do understand that.
00:18:33.000 But the universal basic income, so far we see it applies to almost all seniors, half of blacks, Hispanics, 36% are on government assistance.
00:18:42.000 Now, I'm also Hispanic.
00:18:43.000 I identify as Afro-Latino, so I can wrap my head around why these people are getting money.
00:18:49.000 But, you know, they never really had to experience slavery in this country.
00:18:53.000 They never had to experience Jim Crow.
00:18:55.000 Actually on the census prior to the 70s 80s or 90s, I forget exactly when this happened, they were counted as white in the census.
00:19:04.000 So I don't know how that works, but they're getting assistance to the tune of 36% of
