02:47:10.000To see what's going on with her immigration status.
02:47:14.000And it should be included that this is happening just two, three weeks before the election.
02:47:20.000This is a big October surprise that is maybe going to swing people one way or another during the election, certainly in her district, but also elsewhere in the country.
02:47:30.000And anyway, this is a story that says Federal agents investigating Representative Ilhan Omar have issued subpoenas to some relatives as officials scour her family's history for evidence of fraud and false statements in immigration paperwork.
02:47:44.000A sister of Ms. Omar's, Sara Noor, received a subpoena, as did at least one other member of her family circle.
02:47:52.000On Monday, DHS agents executed a search warrant at her home in Washington, carrying out boxes of documents.
02:48:00.000On Monday, Ms. Omar condemned the search of her home, calling it an effort by the Trump administration to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.
02:48:08.000The specifics of the investigation into Ms. Omar remain unclear, but in recent months, federal investigators have been scrutinizing her family's immigration history.
02:48:18.000The inquiry focuses in part on whether Ms. Omar's late father, Nur Omar Mohammed, lied or omitted information in immigration forms before becoming a U.S. citizen.
02:48:30.000The president on Tuesday suggested on social media that Ms. Omar had engaged in fraud to make millions of dollars.
02:48:36.000He also suggested she had engaged in immigration fraud.
02:48:40.000He said, quote, America wants answers and we want them now.
02:48:44.000So here's the justification for this, just quickly.
02:48:49.000Her father was part of the Somalian dictatorship in Somalia from, I believe, the late 1970s to 1991 when the dictatorship fell.
02:49:02.000He was a major official in the Somalian dictatorship and oversaw massacres, ethnic cleansing, a lot of government repression in that country.
02:49:13.000The regime fell in 1991, and then he took his family and they moved to Kenya.
02:49:19.000And then from Kenya, they moved to the United States.
02:49:22.000When the Omar family moved to the United States, they were able to get here by claiming they were refugees.
02:49:31.000The father claimed to be a refugee fleeing persecution.
02:49:36.000So, when the DHS says that they may have omitted information on their forms or lied on certain federal forms, what they're talking about specifically is her father's military history and background in the government.
02:49:53.000Because to claim refugee status, first, you have to be fleeing persecution.
02:50:00.000Secondly, you cannot have been a part of the persecution.
02:50:06.000In other words, if you're a part of an anti American military dictatorship that's massacring entire villages, and then your government falls and they chase you to another country because they want to kill you, you can't then take refuge in America.
02:50:23.000Like we're fleeing persecution, we massacred all these villages in the military junta, and now they want to hang us.
02:50:45.000So, they say that because Ilhan Omar's father was a part of the military dictatorship in Somalia, if he actually wrote that on the form, he probably could never have been a refugee.
02:50:58.000So, that means he either omitted that on his immigration forms, in which case he falsified the documents.
02:51:05.000We can revoke his refugee status, his citizenship, he goes, or he lied about it.
02:51:13.000Either he omitted it or he made up some lie on the form, lying about where he was during the 1980s and what he was doing or his role in the Somalian government.
02:51:24.000Either way, though, this is a problem.
02:51:26.000Either he completely omitted it or he covered it up and lied.
02:51:51.000Because she became a citizen through her father's naturalization in the year 2000.
02:51:59.000Now, she says that she got her citizenship before she turned 18.
02:52:06.000She said that even though the government records say she was born in 81, if she was born in 81, That means she turns 18 in 1999 before the dad becomes naturalized.
02:52:18.000She's going around telling people, no, no, I got my citizenship after my father did in the year 2000.
02:52:25.000And you say, well, how could you have been born in 81?
02:52:28.000Get your citizenship before you turned 18 in the year 2000.
02:53:26.000She married her cousin and she got her citizenship through her father.
02:53:31.000And the only way she was able to do this, if that even happened, is by falsifying her birth records.
02:53:37.000Because her Wikipedia and everything else says she was born in 81 and her office has put in requests to bump her birth year up another year.
02:53:46.000And that is inexplicable and very strange.
02:53:51.000How the fuck do these people end up in Minnesota?
02:53:54.000And by the way, what does it say about our immigration policy that we have literal warlords from Somalia, or I should say, accused warlords living in Minnesota?
