On the 9th of every month, The Astro Folk Assembly likes to set aside a day of remembrance to celebrate a hero of our faith, someone who's paved the way, who's built, and who's sacrificed so that we can practice our faith in the way we do today. This month, it is my honor to raise a horn and to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Alexander Runtmills.

00:00:00.000 Hello, on the 9th of every month the Ask True Folk Assembly likes to set aside a day of
00:00:13.800 remembrance to celebrate a hero of our faith, someone who's paved the way, who's built and
00:00:21.180 who's sacrificed so that we can practice our faith in the way we do today and have the things we have.
00:00:30.000 This month, it is my honor to raise a horn and to celebrate the life and the accomplishments
00:00:36.960 of Alexander Rudd Mills.
00:00:42.380 Mills was a barrister, a prolific author, and a visionary who awakened our folk and
00:00:50.740 our folk faith in Australia.
00:00:52.300 you. He was inspired by the teachings of Maestro Guido von List, and he sought to return the
00:01:04.400 English colonial peoples to a faith in line with their true selves, to bring us back to
00:01:12.840 the worship of the gods bring us back to Odin to this he he worked his whole life
00:01:21.080 and toiled and he wrote prolifically and he had a vision of bringing us home
00:01:25.400 bringing our people home in 1936 he founded the Anglican Church of Odin in
00:01:31.320 Melbourne Australia during the tumultuous times that Mills lived in the
00:01:39.520 last century he he was imprisoned his church was persecuted and and it was
00:01:47.320 suppressed and the the opposition tried every way they could to to squash the
00:01:55.700 dream and the fledgling seed that he planted but to no avail he stayed true
00:02:04.720 to the gods he's faced with tested but he stood up to the test and he inspired others his inspiration
00:02:12.420 lives on to this very day very importantly Elsie Christensen when she was first starting out she
00:02:18.760 found the teachings of Mills and she was inspired to to pursue the gods and to found what would
00:02:24.600 become the Odinus Fellowship in the United States and in Canada she brought that faith to North
00:02:30.920 America and the work she's put in have contributed enormously to Alcetru and the way we practice
00:02:37.580 today. This is all due to the groundwork laid by Alexander Rudd Mills, his vision, his dream,
00:02:46.020 that he was courageous enough to put into practice, to shape into reality, to manifest
00:02:51.900 here in Midgard. So on this July 9th, I'd like to raise a horn to a hero, a visionary,
00:03:00.020 and a man that made it possible to do what we do today.
00:03:06.020 I raise this horn on behalf of the Astro Folk Assembly
00:03:09.020 to Alexander Runtmills. 0.92
00:03:11.020 Hail.
