In this episode, we discuss the role of wisdom in guiding us through the world, and how it can be applied to the modern world. We also discuss the difference between right and wrong, and the role that wisdom can play in the world.
00:00:00.000And it's a it's a point of contention I have with a lot of the faith community and specifically I've heard a lot of Christian faith leaders propose that their religion is the only thing that, you know, would help mankind know the difference between right and wrong.
00:00:18.220And I think that, you know, I would like to, I would like to, and it'd be a cool selling point to say that, you know, you need Alcetru or else you have to be a terrible person.
00:00:31.400But I think that human experience and common sense tells us that's not the case.
00:00:35.560I think Alcetru does a lot to maximize being a good person, but on basic things, we have an inborn sense of right and wrong.
00:00:45.220And specifically, us as a folk have an inborn nobility to recognize good and bad behavior.
00:00:54.120And unfortunately, and Katie brought this up a little bit, too, with the different historical situations.
00:01:00.680Context is everything. And what may have been a good thing to do in 750 is not necessarily a good thing to do in 2022.
00:01:09.420too. It's the challenge of our folk to be able to use wisdom to pick the right action in the right
00:01:20.980time. That's so much of the rune, Rido, which is the rune of our priesthood, is the right action
00:01:27.100at the right time. There's much in Ausitru to teach you how to be a good person. And, you know,
00:01:34.700I'd say there's much in Christianity that goes beyond, you know, just 10 commandments that
00:01:39.440teaches you a way of living. Certainly in Ausatru, the example of our ancestors,
00:01:45.580the wisdom of our Gothar and our leaders, the counseling of our Gothar and leaders,
00:01:53.280and thousands of years of our history inform us very well on actions that are
00:02:00.280noble-hearted and actions that aren't. And Alistair True does a good job in emphasizing those
00:02:06.880because the values are eternal, whereas the actions, you know, have a lot of situation to
00:02:12.840them. But because Alistair True is a traditional faith, that tradition, these values have been
00:02:19.740eternal since the dawn of our folk and will continue into the future. It's a matter of
00:02:24.560interpreting the situation and how to enact those in the situation that we're in.
