00:00:00.000We, as a folk, have relegated a lot of these important values to, that's something other
00:00:07.720people do, or that's something our ancestors did, or that's something we would do if only.
00:00:14.000And I think it's extremely important for our folk to conceptualize these virtues
00:00:18.320as real things for them to enact in their life in the context that they live in,
00:00:23.540Not in some superficial view of the past, not in a woulda, coulda, shoulda way, but in a real way in how you deal with your family, how you deal with yourself as an employer or as an employee, how you deal with yourself, with your friends, in your community.
00:00:42.620Utilizing our virtues and living those virtues in a real way is extremely important.
00:00:47.860And so many of us have a disconnect between what we think those are and they aren't.
00:00:51.720Honor, for example, it's very easy to conceive of it in a battlefield sense or in an ancient warrior sense or as a knight and winning honor at tournaments and things that way.
00:01:04.380It's more seldom that we consider honor in the integrity of how we are as an employee, how we are when no one's looking, how we deal with our families, how we deal with people we run into in society.
00:01:19.700the fame that we build for ourselves to where people know our name because of our good deeds.
00:01:24.500That's a big one, especially this has gotten much, much worse since the reactions to COVID-19.
00:01:30.340But we were already on a path to where people having real life reputation and real life social
00:01:36.020interaction was getting less and less. We run into folks that are very comfortable being anonymous
00:01:41.400and no one wants fame or attention. And building a name, quite literally building a name for
00:01:48.040yourself was one of the biggest deals for our ancestors, one of the biggest deals for all of
00:01:53.320our ancestors up until very, very recently. But we live in a place now where everyone wants to keep
00:01:57.960their head down and be as secretive as possible. And that said, that's part of the abuse that's
00:02:02.900been heaped upon our folk and the battered people's mindset that we have now. And I think
00:02:08.940by people taking courage, putting their name behind things and building strong reputation for
00:02:13.520themselves, that would be a huge, huge advantage in building honor amongst them. We as a folk have
00:02:19.520relegated a lot of these important values to, that's something other people do, or that's
00:02:25.900something our ancestors did, or that's something.
