00:30:57.000As far as what's the next celebration within the AFA?
00:31:01.700Well, we've got our Days of Remembrance.
00:31:03.260And the next one coming up is on the 9th,
00:31:05.840we have the Day of Remembrance for Elsie Christensen.
00:31:08.660This is going to be the second year that the AFA celebrates that.
00:31:12.020If you don't know about Elsie, look her up.
00:31:14.480She is one of the seminal figures in modern-day Alistair True
00:31:19.180and in the growth and development of our people back when this was just starting out.
00:31:24.120And she put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in getting people together1.00
00:31:27.760and writing letters to folks and knitting together a community.0.99
00:31:31.200That's why she came by the title of the folk mother
00:31:34.360because she did so much to build our folk initially.
00:31:37.240So I encourage you to look her up and raise a horn to her on the 9th.
00:31:49.240Ah, Lane wants me to talk a little bit about the growth of having women and families around.
00:31:54.240It's one of the best things we've seen in the AFA recently,
00:31:58.240has been just the massive surge of women, of families, children.
00:32:04.240A lot of us, when we started out, I've been involved in Massachusetts since 2001, and certainly at that time, it was a lot of guys.
00:32:15.840It was a whole lot of single guys, or it was guys that wouldn't bring their family out.
00:32:20.300They'd get together and didn't really trust it, and they could get together with the guys and have a backyard barbecue and throw back a few beers, and it really, they didn't bring family around.
00:32:31.280and it's been amazing to watch the growth of people who are comfortable bringing their families
00:32:36.720around we've got kids everywhere at these event kids getting together and playing with each other
00:32:43.040and making friends out of just out of nowhere never met each other before and by the end of
00:32:47.200the weekend they're their best friends and it's beautiful to see that you know cliff was asking0.98
00:32:52.960me a while ago that was the last time you saw a group picture with you know without a pregnant
00:32:59.040woman or a baby in arms and i can't think of one it's been that long we've always got uh babies
00:33:06.480mandy and janet when they were going over uh baby blankets for our baby break baby blanket project
00:33:13.200that our ladies are are involved in 17 so far this year that we know about 17 new afa babies
00:33:21.120so women and children are at all of our events at least half if not more of the participants
00:33:28.480the events or women and children it's been amazing because that's absolutely our future
00:33:33.760and it's beautiful to watch that and those kids are going to grow up with this being
00:33:37.760what they were raised in unlike those of us who found this later in life
00:33:41.840and that's a really special thing to be a part of and a special time to be also true
00:33:49.760need for physical fitness among our folk uh physical health equally important versus
00:33:55.280spiritual strength yeah i think that one of the things that characterizes also true is it's
00:33:59.600holistic it's not just about you know being a cleric in a tower somewhere reading ancient
00:34:05.600tones austral informs action and informs your life and how you live and how you do things
00:34:11.520being physically fit is a big part of that um to be truly healthy to be whole to be hail is to be
00:34:18.240healthy in all aspects of your life mentally spiritually physically and it's really important
00:34:27.180it's been very important to me to try to help our people get in better shape i think no small part
00:34:32.080of that is what people look good you feel good when you look good when you have good health and
00:34:37.360when you present yourself well you're able to hold your head up and stick your chest out and be proud
00:34:42.180of who you are and people react to that when they see you i want our folk to recognize our excellence
00:34:48.020at a distance i'd like everything we do to shine with excellence and our physical health is a huge
00:34:53.060part of that and it's a big problem in the united states and i think around the world where we have
00:34:58.020we have our folk is we've succeeded so well that we have abundance and abundance has created an
00:35:03.380an epidemic of obesity and and diseases and things that come along with it so i'd love to
00:35:08.660see all our people look their best feel their best and be able to live and have longevity for
00:35:13.780a long time i think one of the really inspirational things is to watch steve mcnallen he's you know
00:35:20.500he's over 70 now and he's always out trying to go to the gym or go hiking or go do something
00:35:25.860when i think about my grandparents at his age they were they were old you know my grandparents
00:35:30.660hit about 55 and they stopped being able to do things it's great to live in a time where we know
00:35:36.180better than that and folks can get out there and stay active it's one of those things and
00:35:40.020And I encourage all of our folk to stay active and some Mandy and I always talk about is
00:35:44.700wanting to make sure that we do stay active as as we do get older.
00:35:47.640So physical fitness is hugely important and I think it speaks volumes about the commitment
00:35:52.920of folk and of people when they hold themselves to that standard and try to pursue physical
00:35:57.900excellence. Thanks, Rob, I'm glad you like the Odin bloat.
