00:31:45.620 We have a toxic combination right now in this country of sky-high inflation with a
00:31:51.440 recession, both of which are completely caused, created crises of Joe Biden and his allies

00:31:57.740 And it was really a shameful scene yesterday, Steve, at the White House.
00:32:01.620 On the lawn of the White House, they literally held a pep rally regarding the so-called Inflation
00:32:07.380 Reduction Act at the exact same time that the stock market was collapsing down 1,200 points
00:32:13.580 on the Dow.
00:32:14.000 Now, why? Because of the horrific inflation news that we got just yesterday.
00:32:18.760 These are shameless people.
00:32:20.600 It made me think, once again, so many of the antics of the Biden administration, it was
00:32:24.240 like a scene out of the Hunger Games.
00:32:26.420 And Washington, D.C., far too often acts like the capital from the Hunger Games and completely
00:32:31.920 disregards the reality, the lived experience of those of us in the districts who are dealing
00:32:37.020 with absolute runaway inflation.
00:32:39.140 And Steve, as bad as the headline number was, and it was terrible, the devil was indeed in
00:32:43.360 the details.
00:32:44.000 And let's get to some of these details, particularly the stickier parts of inflation.
00:32:47.920 What I mean by that are prices that go up and are unlikely to ever go back down.
00:32:52.940 Things like rents, for example.
00:32:54.220 If you're renewing your lease and your rent is going up, they rarely, if ever, go back
00:32:59.040 down.
00:32:59.300 So commodities can be very volatile and you can go up and down wildly.
00:33:03.080 But services, not so.
00:33:04.740 And so let's show this chart.
00:33:05.720 I want to show the services components.
00:33:07.860 And I think this is critical.
00:33:08.920 So these are inflation for key measures of services in the economy.
00:33:13.560 Again, far stickier than the commodity-based inflation, which is also terrible, by the way.

00:33:19.900 The Democrats, who are allegedly the party that provides health care affordably to regular
00:33:25.240 working-class Americans, health insurance up 24% on an annualized basis.

00:33:32.240 Regular working-class people cannot afford that kind of a health care cost.
00:33:36.680 Car insurance up almost 9%.
00:33:38.320 Pet services up almost 10%.
00:33:40.660 Steve, I was just the other day talking to some working-class folks.
00:33:43.960 It's a family business, cleaning business, women who work really, really hard. 1.00

00:33:59.120 Again, if your attorney has started charging you more, it's unlikely, if not impossible,
00:34:03.680 for him to then lower his rates and suddenly charge you less.
00:34:07.020 So that's the reality that Americans are facing right now, while the Biden White House
00:34:11.480 had a ludicrous pep rally on the White House lawn.
00:34:14.380 So I want to get into the global side of this, too, because you mentioned the capital markets.
00:34:17.680 If we can pull up chart number one, please.
00:34:19.620 This is a global fund survey that is done by Bank of America.
00:34:23.500 And they survey fund managers on their expectations for profits, for corporate profits going forward.
00:34:30.780 That chart goes all the way back to the 90s.
00:34:34.140 And we just hit, in the history of this survey, which is 25 years old, we just hit a new low.
00:34:40.500 Lower than the lockdowns of 2020.
00:34:43.480 Lower than the levels of the 2008-2009 credit crisis.
00:34:47.040 We are now, because of the policies of Joe Biden and the rest of the Davos set, we're at an all-time low in profit expectations
00:34:54.280 from institutional money managers, smart money, people who manage trillions of dollars globally.
00:35:00.040 Now, let's bring this down to Main Street.
00:35:01.580 If we go to chart numbers.
00:35:02.240 Ho, ho, ho, ho, hang on.

00:35:05.240 I want to go back to that, because this is looking over the other side of the hill.

00:35:16.260 Put that chart back up and explain to people what the importance of that is.
00:35:19.820 Okay, so this is earnings expectations from fund managers, from institutional money managers worldwide from Bank of America.
00:35:28.060 And they've been doing this survey for 25 years.
00:35:30.560 As that chart shows, that goes all the way back to the 90s.
00:35:33.340 It has never been lower.
00:35:34.880 We are lower now in profit expectations than we were in the 2020 lockdowns.
00:35:39.160 We're lower than we were in the mortgage and housing crisis of 2008, 2009.
00:35:43.800 These are the consequences of Biden's miserable policies.
00:35:49.240 Literally the lowest profit expectations ever in the 25-year history of this survey.
00:35:54.540 Again, from smart money, from the big institutional investors around the world.
00:35:59.100 But I also want to bring this to Main Street.
00:36:00.660 So if we go to chart number two, well, let's look at what's happening with profits, what's happening with earnings for small business in this country.
00:36:07.360 What are Main Street Enterprises, the mom-and-pop operations that are the lifeblood of the American economy, and particularly as it relates to employment, right, the drivers of employment?
00:36:15.840 Because small business, by definition, Steve, is not outsourcing, is not offshoring.
00:36:20.080 This is the real dynamism, the beating heart of the American economy, small business.
00:36:24.320 This came out just yesterday as well.
00:36:25.760 And this was terrible news from the NFIB, the National Federation of Independent Business, the largest organization that represents small business and Main Street firms.
00:36:35.120 And these are small business earnings as reported by the owners themselves.
00:36:39.560 And as you can see on that chart, unfortunately, we are right now pressing the 2020 lockdown low.
00:36:45.200 So earnings for small business right now are as bad as they were, Steve, in the spring of 2020, when almost every one of these operations was forced to close.
00:36:54.680 Okay, that's how bad this Biden economy is because of a combination of a Biden recession with absolutely soaring prices.
00:37:02.360 And soaring prices are bad for everyone, Steve, but it's particularly harmful for small business because they simply don't have the scale to deal with inflation the way big businesses do.
00:37:11.340 So Main Street is suffering tremendously.
00:37:13.760 So I wanted to give those two charts back to back because let's take the global view, the top-down macro view, and then let's get down to the granular view.
00:37:20.220 What is happening on the street level?
00:37:22.000 What are your neighbors who own small businesses?
00:37:23.780 What are they dealing with right now?
00:37:25.080 That's the on-the-ground reality.
00:37:27.500 Now, another harsh reality, Steve, if we can go to chart three, let's look at what this inflation is doing.
00:37:32.540 Because interest rates are soaring, that chart shows U.S. interest payments, and that goes back to 2018.
00:37:39.760 So roughly the middle of that chart is when Joe Biden took over.
00:37:43.660 It happens to be the lowest part of the chart, meaning the United States was not spending very much on interest payments because interest rates were incredibly low.
00:37:52.360 And because the burgeoning Trump boom 2.0 coming out of the spring 2020 lockdowns, we had fast growth without inflation.
00:38:01.020 And so the U.S. was paying, at that point, about $340 billion on an annualized basis in interest payments.
00:38:08.600 We are now almost at $500 billion annualized in interest payments.
00:38:14.240 So it has gone up almost 50% the interest cost to the United States taxpayer in just a year and a half.
00:38:21.100 Steve, that trend, that upward trend in interest payments is totally unsustainable because we're doing a gargantuan amount of borrowing.
00:38:29.320 And the capital markets of the world are saying, if we're going to lend you that much money, we need more interest rates because you're a risky borrower in the United States.
00:38:36.800 Let me tell you something.
00:38:38.860 Is that look at the United States economy as a business.
00:38:42.520 Right.
00:38:42.660 This is – we're so leveraged.
00:38:45.700 And the earnings – let's go back to the earnings.
00:38:47.480 It shows you – because that's a proxy for the ability to generate cash, right, for the economy, for people to pay taxes or anything like that.

00:39:02.680 They just haven't said it's bankrupt because you still do – you still print dollars.
