00:21:52.680 steve was pretty bullish on pennsylvania's midterm in november uh the reason i was was because you look

00:21:58.840 at the national environment and you say wow how can anybody vote for two more years of this but what

00:22:04.040 also got me uh optimistic was looking at the mail-in ballot returns across pennsylvania and i saw that

00:22:11.080 the democrats were underperforming their anticipated mail-in ballot returns and i said okay the

00:22:17.380 democrats have have a depressed turnout as well ultimately things didn't go the right way in

00:22:22.520 pennsylvania and the reason was because republicans didn't vote but what i wanted to do was prove a

00:22:28.840 point with how the democrats do mail-in balloting across pennsylvania to show that we can beat them

00:22:35.660 at their own game and on top of that pennsylvania is still a purple state and mail-in ballots is not the

00:22:42.080 reason pennsylvania went blue this past midterm so walk me through that walk me through how they do

00:22:48.120 a better how we can do a better why that why we didn't lose because of that yeah so what i did was

00:22:54.020 i took every single democratic voter in pennsylvania who applied to vote by mail and who also returned

00:23:00.220 their ballot i did it in all 67 of pennsylvania's counties and then i plotted it on a chart just because

00:23:07.640 i wanted to see how do people apply and how do they return their ballots in 66 of pennsylvania's 67

00:23:14.980 counties there was a clear trend two-thirds of democrats apply to vote by mail in the spring

00:23:21.060 and one-third of democrats apply to vote by mail in the fall the reason it breaks down like that is

00:23:27.500 because the pennsylvania mail-in ballot law mandates that each of pennsylvania's counties send a mailing

00:23:34.760 to prior mail-in voters asking if they want to do it again so you've got close to a million democrats

00:23:41.540 received a taxpayer paid for mailing asking them do you want to vote by mail again and a whole bunch of

00:23:48.200 them said yeah i'd like to do that what the democrats did is they would then chase that taxpayer mailer

00:23:54.100 with a text a robocall a digital ad so two-thirds come during the spring the remaining third of

00:24:02.460 applications come during the fall and that's just because it's the fever pitch of the campaigns and

00:24:07.040 voters are saying i want to vote by mail but there was one county that stood out and that county was

00:24:13.300 delaware county which was a prior republican stronghold in suburban philadelphia and today it's

00:24:19.540 part of the democratic base what made them so unique is that of these 67 counties in pennsylvania

00:24:26.640 66 of them had almost no activity throughout the summer however in delaware county they saw the

00:24:34.280 majority of their applications happen during the summer and you have to ask yourself why the first

00:24:40.560 thing you want to do is try to establish was there any fraud steve there is no evidence of any fraud

00:24:46.600 that i've seen in delaware county in order to commit mail and ballot fraud you can do it in two places

00:24:52.420 number one is that when you apply to vote by mail you have to provide either your social security or

00:24:59.420 driver's license number now we don't have voter id when you walk into a poll in pennsylvania but you

00:25:05.340 need voter id to vote by mail so you need someone that builds a list somehow steals a whole bunch of

00:25:12.500 driver's license numbers submits an application without a voter's knowledge and then completes them

00:25:17.760 that didn't happen the second way you can have fraud is if there's some type of conspiracy in a

00:25:23.720 courthouse to not count ballots i've seen no evidence of that in delaware county ultimately what

00:25:29.760 the democrats did is exactly what republicans used to do prior to the pandemic we used to have

00:25:35.900 coordinated campaigns to get republicans to vote by mail the way we did that is we mailed everybody

00:25:42.380 an application and we would chase it with a phone call what the democrats did is their candidates at

00:25:48.840 the state house level and elsewhere would go to door to door and carry an application with them

00:25:54.340 and say please fill out this application to vote and mail it in there's nothing wrong with that that's

00:26:00.360 just great get out the vote efforts that we've gotten away from in pennsylvania for the past two years

00:26:05.760 and we need to get back to basics if we do that hang on you say there's no fraud because i know

00:26:11.720 there's a big controversy in delaware county we're going to try to get some of these folks on tonight

00:26:29.060 just on the application itself you're saying you would either have to get a huge grunge of social

00:31:53.980 pennsylvania and their candidates are workers they're going to knock on the doors and delaware county is a

00:31:59.760 place that's very walkable they're willing to put in the elbow grease to to do the types of changes that

00:32:05.080 they've made so it's a big deal uh we've got to find ways to compete and in bucks county where i live

00:32:10.880 we found that model it is the blue collar conservative model and we've wrapped ourselves in it

00:32:17.120 and we have a strong manufacturing base here in the lower part of our county and and we we roll with it

00:32:23.160 we the realignment of the republican party to being a workers party a populist party that flies in in

00:32:30.600 bucks county it flies throughout pennsylvania that's a message we need to bring the delaware county

00:32:35.000 just last thing how did this republican the mail-in ballot fiasco in in uh in um pennsylvania

00:38:12.360 approving mojave county's canvass we had postponed the canvas till the very last day just to give

00:38:19.820 everybody more time to do their research and whatnot on any potential challenges and the attorney that

00:38:26.740 was staffing the board of supervisors meeting uh told us if we were to vote no on the canvas that we

00:38:33.860 would be subject to criminal penalties and to me that that just blew my mind if i have the ability to vote

00:38:40.640 yes or no but you're going to arrest me if i vote no that's just not how we do it here in america but

00:38:47.020 apparently it's how we're doing it now in arizona so this who was the attorney who did he who'd the

00:38:53.080 attorney represent he represent the the supervisors or he represent the state no he's the he's an attorney

00:38:59.640 for the county attorney's office and he's the representative for the board of supervisors and he was not

00:39:05.940 making a threat he was informing us of what of what we could uh be up against if we chose to not approve

00:39:13.080 the canvas the other issue with if we didn't approve the canvas then um the candidates in arizona could

00:41:59.280 maricopa county were disenfranchised and therefore mojave county was disenfranchised

00:42:11.700 in maricopa county their mistakes are bigger than our entire county vote and i think it's

00:42:19.680 disenfranchised the rural voters across the state not to mention it disenfranchises maricopa county

00:42:31.060 so any problems at the poll affect republicans more than they would affect democrats

00:47:56.980 ballots took weeks to count and back at that time the local media were outraged in fact they i think

00:48:08.100 similar things happened in 2016 they made changes and the lines were so long that the obama justice

00:48:14.340 department sent a letter saying they were concerned about what maricopa county was doing

00:48:18.120 2018 more long delays in voting counts and of course 2020 the arizona senate came back and found

00:48:24.240 all sorts of irregularities including 5 000 voters they believe voted in maricopa county and at least

00:48:30.020 one other county so potential double voting many other uh ballots called into question 50 000 i think

00:48:36.140 across the state um this has been an issue that uh the local leadership have continually kicked down

00:48:42.540 the line they have not been able to count votes effectively uh sometimes it's machines sometimes

00:48:47.740 it's equipment sometimes it's provisional ballots but the system has been broken for a long time
