00:33:03.000 And so the expansion of mifepristone, which is an abortion drug under the Biden administration, it was first approved under the Clinton administration, and it was approved in 2000 under very, very shady circumstances.

00:33:19.680 But abortions by the mail, or I'm sorry, abortions by pill were far less common.

00:33:24.460 Surgical abortions were way more common.

00:33:26.320 Now that ratio has flipped, and abortions, they call them chemical abortions, so the pill abortion, basically.

00:33:33.000 It's now far more pervasive than surgical abortions, and that is by design because the left wants to make it easier for women to put their lives at risk by not having a doctor with them.

00:33:45.980 So that's the history of this lawsuit.

00:33:49.000 So when it was approved under the Clinton administration, they used a really sketchy, the FDA used a really sketchy methodology.

00:33:57.240 They categorized pregnancy as some type of illness, and they used it, the same sort of emergency categorization of that HIV, AIDS was the same thing essentially as being pregnant, and that they needed to do emergency authorization for mifepristone.

00:34:15.000 So they rammed it through, they didn't follow their protocols, and this drug is very dangerous, and we see the results.

00:34:21.700 So there was a study from the Journal of the Obstetric, I can't say this word, Obstetrics in gynecology, and they found that more than 40,000 abortions in Finland,

00:34:34.520 one in five women undergoing these abortion pills, these chemical abortions, experience complications.

00:34:40.580 That's four times the number of complications of somebody who gets a surgical abortion.

00:34:45.580 So this is all the backdrop to say that this is a dangerous drug that was rammed through without the proper authorization,

00:34:51.640 and it was challenged immediately by people who want to protect women's health and protect babies, and the FDA is required statutorily to respond within 180 days to challenges.

00:35:04.060 They blew past that and ignored it.

00:35:05.600 So it's been on the books now for 20 years, and finally you had the Alliance Defending Freedom file this lawsuit,

00:35:12.740 and last week a Texas judge in a district court, federal district court, blocked mifepristone and said this is a dangerous drug, that the FDA was way out of bounds.

00:35:24.920 But they did give one week for the Biden administration to challenge that ruling, and so the second ruling just happened late last night.

00:35:31.780 That's the breaking news, and that was the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals down in Louisiana.

00:35:38.800 They said that we are going to continue to allow this on the market for now.

00:35:46.000 However, we are taking away the Biden authorization of abortion by mail, and then also they reduced the pregnancy length from 10 weeks to 7 weeks of when you could take the pill.

00:35:58.960 So that's what's happening.

00:36:01.760 Kind of a split decision.

00:36:05.160 The FDA thing here is, before I delusion, I just want to ask some basic math.

00:36:09.740 It's been reported now that since Dobbs came out, I guess last June, there have been 5,000 a month fewer abortions.

00:36:18.220 So right now, at least how they calculate, there's 77,000 abortions per month in the country.

00:36:23.840 5,000, it was 83, you're down 5,000.

00:36:26.620 Why, and we've got the life guys that we had, John Henry Weston, they're trying to take him off YouTube, you, Liz Yor, Terry Sheffield, all the great pro-life people.

00:36:38.960 Why is the, you're down, right, I don't know, 8, 10% or something like that in the 5,000 off and just in the federal ruling.

00:36:46.880 Why is the Republican Party, not just crickets, they're running away from you guys because they're every day, whether it's in Wisconsin, they're pointing the finger and saying, hey, these retrograde, hardcore pro-lifers are what's going to lose us every election going forward.

00:37:07.620 And walk me through your assessment of the politics of it.

00:37:09.960 Yeah, I agree.

00:37:12.000 I think that there are a lot of more establishment types who don't want to touch this with a 10-foot poll.

00:37:17.280 But the reality is that the polling shows that the majority of Americans, they want restrictions on abortion.

00:37:23.640 Very, very, it's a tiny minority believes in abortion up until birth, which is, you know, what many Democrats want.

00:37:32.220 And in fact, AOC and Ron Wyden, they actually wanted the Democrats to ignore this court ruling, the Texas ruling, and just continue to distribute the drug as if the ruling didn't happen, which is truly horrific.

00:37:45.840 I mean, they just don't care about the rule of law.

00:37:47.680 But as far as, you know, going on offense, I think that there was some sloppiness.

00:37:54.620 So like, for example, the Kansas, you know, referendum, that was smacked down, I think, because it was very poorly worded, the way that it was very broad and very vague.

00:38:07.180 And so I think it was a sort of an overreach in terms of, I mean, I agree with what they were trying to do, but the way that it was written was too vague.

00:38:14.320 And so the left used that as a scared tactic to make it fail.

00:38:18.300 And then you have other states like Texas and California, I'm sorry, California and New York, who after Dobbs said, well, we're going to move it even further.

00:38:25.980 We're going to move the needle even further in terms of how far you can, you know, kill your child.

00:38:31.120 So I think that ultimately, I'm glad that you're talking about this, Steve, because people need to have courage on this issue.

00:38:38.740 I'm actually reminded a lot of what happened with slavery in terms of the Lincoln-Douglas debates and how Abraham Lincoln, through the Lincoln-Douglas debates, he completely flipped the narrative because you had Douglas was this coward who just basically said slavery, you know, take it or leave it.

00:38:58.280 And, you know, just, he was, it was amoral from his perspective.

00:39:03.940 And Lincoln said, no, right makes might, whereas the Douglas approach was might makes right.

00:39:09.920 It's the majority rule.

00:39:11.960 And yeah, yeah, we are a majority rule country, but ultimately it has to do with the morality of what abortion truly is, which is, it is the destruction of an innocent human life immediately upon conception that it's a human life.

00:39:25.240 So I think that if conservatives make this argument and use science, all the facts are on our side, the morality is on our side.

00:39:35.140 And you don't even have to be, you know, I'm a Christian, but like, you don't even, I was, I was agnostic for 12 years and I was pro-life the whole time.
