00:01:38.000 If anyone arrives at our southern border after midnight tonight, they will be presumed ineligible for asylum and subject to steeper consequences for unlawful entry, including a minimum five year ban on reentry and potential criminal prosecution.
00:01:55.000 We have done all we can with the resources that we have and within the system that we are operating under.
00:02:02.000 What should Americans in those border communities and beyond expect in the coming days and weeks?
00:02:09.000 What's this going to look like for them?
00:02:11.000 We could see very crowded as we are now. We could see very crowded border patrol facilities.
00:02:17.000 I cannot overstate the strain on our personnel and our facilities.
00:02:22.000 But we know how to manage through such strain as difficult as it will be.
00:02:28.000 I have tremendous confidence and pride in our personnel.
00:02:32.000 Mr. Secretary, thanks for being here.
00:02:34.000 The president said this week that the situation on the southern border is going to be chaotic for a while.
00:02:39.000 Given the fact that you've had nearly two years to prepare for this moment, how can chaos be the expectation?
00:02:45.000 Well, I have said for months and months that the challenge at the border is and is going to be very difficult.
00:02:54.000 And we have spoken repeatedly about the fact that that difficulty may actually only increase at this time of transition.
00:03:02.000 It is going to take a period of time for our approach to actually gain traction and show results.
00:03:10.000 And I've been very clear about that.
00:03:13.000 The fundamental reason, the fundamental reason why we have a challenge at our border, and we've had this challenge many a time before,
00:03:22.000 is because we are working within the constraints of a broken, a fundamentally broken immigration system.
00:03:29.000 And we also are operating on resources that are far less than those that we need and that we've requested.
00:03:35.000 Some of the measures that you have been talking about to mitigate this surge, some of those aren't even in place yet.
00:03:42.000 It wasn't until two weeks ago that you announced these plans to open these regional processing centers.
00:03:46.000 As far as I'm aware, they're not open yet.
00:03:48.000 Of the 1,500 troops that the president deployed, only 550 are actually on the ground.
00:03:53.000 So given how long you have known that Title 42 is ending on May 11th, why aren't all these measures already in place?
00:04:00.000 So we have implemented measures well before those few that you identify.
00:04:06.000 Our parole processes would be an example.
00:04:09.000 While we deployed 1,500 additional Department of Defense personnel, we've had 2,500 Department of Defense personnel well in place already.
00:04:18.000 We have surged resources of all types over months and months.
00:04:23.000 Not just personnel, but transportation facilities, technology, additional bed space.
00:04:30.000 So we have been, in fact, not...
00:04:33.000 We have done all we can with the resources that we have and within the system that we are operating under.
00:04:40.000 On this vote, the yeas are 219, the nays are 213.

00:04:53.000 With today's termination of the final remnants of Title 42,
00:04:59.000 Joe Biden has officially abolished what remained of America's borders
00:05:03.000 and turned the United States into a dumping ground for illegal aliens from all over the world.

00:08:13.000 So if we talk about the Tucson sector, Tucson sector is going to be overrun.
00:08:18.000 And they get the number one.
00:08:20.000 It's the number one drug trafficking and human trafficking corridor on the southwest border.
00:08:26.000 And so they're already depleted numerically in staffing.
00:08:32.000 And so they're going to be overrun.
00:08:35.000 And it's going to be really bad.
00:08:36.000 And it is already really bad.
00:08:38.000 And these are the people that don't want to be caught, Steve.
00:08:40.000 They're different than most sectors.
00:08:42.000 These are the guys and ladies that are wearing carpet shoes.
00:08:46.000 They're wearing camo.
00:08:47.000 They're carrying drugs on the back.
00:08:49.000 They're sneaking into the country.
00:08:50.000 They don't want to be caught.
00:08:51.000 They're not the ones that you see in films where there's lines of people wanting to come in.
00:08:56.000 These are the people that are men and women in CBP, great agents, doing the best they can to try to interdict them.
00:09:03.000 They'll go out there and they'll be outmanned and out-resourced.
00:09:06.000 And that's because of Mayorkas.
00:09:08.000 And that's because they keep that sector depleted.
00:09:12.000 Then on the other sector is Yuma.
00:09:14.000 And that is a huge sector where they're being overrun right now.
00:09:19.000 And what happened there is the governor of Arizona took down some of the areas of barricades.
00:09:25.000 And now at the Morellis Dam, you're seeing people come through like you haven't seen in many, many months.
00:09:31.000 And you're also seeing people still coming down at the Cocoa Public Gap.
00:09:35.000 So Mayorkas promised he was going to close 11 gaps and he was going to get it done in just a matter of a few months.
00:09:42.000 15 months later, he's not closed any of those gaps and they're all being flooded right now.
00:09:47.000 And I realize you passed a bill today, but for citizens of Arizona and for Texas, this, it almost seems like this was done on purpose.
00:10:01.000 And people that play by the rules, work hard, pay their taxes.
00:10:06.000 We know because we interview, we have Ben Burke on this team that interviews people all the time.
00:10:10.000 They seem overwhelmed.
00:10:12.000 What message do you have to them, sir?
00:10:16.000 They are overwhelmed.
00:10:18.000 If you're talking about our men and women of CBP and ICE, their leadership has thrown them under the bus.
00:10:26.000 And we love our agents and both of those agencies.
00:10:29.000 And they're doing the very best they can, every one of them.
00:10:32.000 And they're overwhelmed.
00:10:34.000 And if we can get this, if this legislation were to become law, it would change a significant portion of the trajectory.
00:10:44.000 But as long as Mayorkas is doing things like setting up reception centers in the Western Hemisphere so people can basically pre-register to illegally enter the United States of America.
00:10:55.000 They're going to pre-register to illegal between the ports of entry.
00:10:58.000 As long as you have Secretary Mayorkas saying that he's got this parole plan in place where you're actually providing incentives to come through, then I think that help is a long way out.
00:11:11.000 And when I talk to the agents, their morale is down.
00:11:15.000 And it's because their leadership has failed them utterly and completely.
00:11:20.000 And I just beg my colleagues in Congress to join me in impeaching Mayorkas.
00:11:25.000 He needs to be impeached because we have to hold him accountable.
00:11:29.000 And I don't know what the next leader would look like.
00:11:32.000 But then if we needed to impeach that person, we'd impeach him.
00:11:34.000 The point is, somebody must be held accountable.
00:11:37.000 And Mayorkas is the guy who's orchestrating this and leading this.
00:11:41.000 And he's doing it purposefully.
00:11:45.000 How can, but you don't have, even the Republicans, they're moderates.
00:11:49.000 When you talk to your moderate colleagues, what do they tell you?
00:11:52.000 Why are they not prepared to go forward on Mayorkas as a symbol of this invasion to impeach him?
00:11:58.000 Some have told me that it's because Biden is the guy who has orchestrated this.
00:12:04.000 Some have told me they don't think that he's technically committed high crimes and misdemeanors.
00:12:08.000 One guy told me, he says, show me the felony.
00:12:11.000 And I, and I, so I proceeded to list several, um, uh, uh, items like how about aiding and abetting drug distribution?

00:12:22.000 Because that's what he's doing.
00:12:23.000 How about aiding and abetting human trafficking and human smuggling?
00:12:27.000 Because that's what he's doing.
00:12:28.000 As we had testimony just a week ago, we are the logistical arm now of, of child sex trafficking.
00:12:36.000 Again, the federal government is, how about that?
00:12:39.000 He's aiding and abetting that.
00:12:41.000 And guess what?
00:12:42.000 Those are actual criminal felonies.
00:12:44.000 Um, do you believe that the state government, we're going to have Carrie Lake here at the bottom of the hour.

00:12:55.000 Do you believe the state governments have done, have gone to the limit of what they can do and maybe even push the limit to try to stop the invasion of their states?

00:13:10.000 Um, I would say that, that, that Ducey tried to do some, but certainly Abbott in Texas has done more than, than anyone.

00:13:29.000 The Mexican immigration authorities are coordinating with CBP, um, in a, in a kind of a controlled flow environment.
00:13:37.000 Now, maybe just because there's so many, they're overwhelmed.
00:13:39.000 They're just trying to say, don't come yet.
00:13:41.000 You know, please, please don't keep coming.
00:13:43.000 Cause we can't, we can't process you even, but, but you'll see that.
00:13:46.000 But some of the, uh, aliens that are crossing in the river, a real, the Rio Grande, uh, there, they're surprised because you have, uh, Texas DPS actually turning them back and saying, you cannot enter here.

00:14:05.000 So I would say Abbott's trying to do something.
00:14:08.000 Um, and, and I think the, we've been told repeatedly the Supreme court has said, ah, you, you know, the, the field has not been abandoned.

00:14:20.000 But the reality Steve is the feds have abandoned this.

00:14:26.000 And so the state should be able to do it.

00:14:32.000 In Arizona, it seems that they are arresting aliens state crime.

00:19:31.000 I my mind is blown that people think that if you increase the debt ceiling by only one and a half trillion dollars over 10 months, that's somehow better than increasing it over by two and a half trillion dollars over 15 months.

00:19:48.000 They've tried it literally for decades to incrementally stop deficit spending.
00:19:53.000 And it's the deficit spending that causes the national debt to blow up.
00:19:57.000 So you have to reduce the spending.
00:20:00.000 And if you get it back to the twenty nineteen levels, which was President Trump and with the current revenue levels, you don't have to raise the debt ceiling.
00:20:08.000 And you can take care and you can get rid of things like participation in World Health Organization.
00:20:12.000 How about drag queen sponsorship in Ecuador and other places by the U.S.?
00:20:16.000 I mean, there's so many things that we could cut out.
00:20:19.000 And that's why we did the bills that we did.

00:20:22.000 We have to do cuts.
00:20:23.000 And I'll tell you what else.
00:20:25.000 Another thing he's right on.
00:20:26.000 They are not going to default when I say they the Democrats are not going to default.

00:20:34.000 I didn't vote for it.
00:20:35.000 I didn't like that bill because it still increased the national debt significantly.

00:20:46.000 It is Schumer and Biden who are going to blow up and cause the debt ceiling issue to perpetuate.

00:21:02.000 They refer those bills in Treasury and Fed and they keep writing the checks anyway.

00:21:11.000 And in my opinion, if you don't take care of it now, why does anybody think you're going to take care of it in 10 months when it's a $35 trillion deficit?

00:23:28.000 This isn't, you know, some zombie movie where we've built the barricades and they're just climbing over the barricades and we can't stop them.
00:23:37.000 This is the literal demolition of our national sovereignty.
00:23:41.000 Ask any professional in the national security sphere.
00:23:46.000 There is not one nation on this world, Steve, that doesn't protect its sovereignty and doesn't have borders except ours.
00:23:56.000 And the cynicism, the cold, merciless, murderous cynicism, that not only are you prepared to see tens of thousands, millions of people trafficked, this is modern slavery, women and children abused, raped, but also you're prepared to see 110,000 Americans die from fentanyl and other drug poisoning in just the 12 months.
