00:03:02.540 Number two, provide full support for our ally Israel.

00:03:13.980 Now, I don't know about you guys, but maybe they don't understand how numbers work in
00:03:18.540 the McCarthy office, no longer, of course, the Speaker's office.
00:03:21.580 But number four should be the top priority, of course, along with rescuing American hostages.
00:03:27.200 But this is just a perfect example of why we deposed Kevin McCarthy in the first place.

00:04:14.800 They see crisis brewing and they know they got to have a, you know, mini Lindsey Graham
00:04:18.880 type, someone who's already on Fox News calling for us to bomb Iran in office so they can maximize
00:04:24.040 their profits.

00:04:27.020 We are not going to reinstate Kevin McCarthy as speaker because you guys are, of course,
00:04:30.640 going to be calling all your representatives this week to make sure that doesn't happen.
00:04:34.540 I think it's fair to say the only accomplishment that Kevin McCarthy really ever had in his
00:04:41.240 reign, his dictatorial reign, even though they didn't really do anything, as speaker of the
00:04:45.960 house was the fact that we removed him.
00:04:49.100 That's really, I think, the unifying issue in America right now.
00:04:51.540 There's polling out showing that the majority of Americans actually support his removal,
00:04:55.880 not just conservatives, but America writ large.

00:05:15.020 But, you know, when we say it's intentional and it's not incompetence, when you look at
00:05:19.620 the fact that our strategic petroleum reserves have been drained amidst all this chaos, meanwhile,
00:05:24.480 Joe Biden doesn't even have enough energy to work past 12 for the last two days, even
00:05:28.480 though he did have a barbecue last night as Americans are being held hostage and the
00:05:32.280 world was going up in flames.
00:05:33.980 How's that for priorities?
00:05:35.220 He's seemed to find time to straight to drain our strategic petroleum reserve.

00:05:45.080 Well, it's not a very nice chart, a very scary chart.
00:05:47.120 But E.J., if you could walk us through the ramifications financially, but also just from
00:05:51.020 an energy perspective amidst what could potentially be another kind of Middle East war scenario,
00:05:56.480 we don't know yet, what that is going to look like for Americans.

00:06:02.400 Well, Natalie, thank you for having me.
00:06:03.820 And I promise one of these times we're actually going to have something good to talk about.
00:06:07.120 But what we've seen under the Biden administration in terms of energy has been a complete throttling
00:06:12.840 of domestic production and increased reliance on foreign sources of fuel, particularly bad actors
00:06:20.060 like Iran.
00:06:21.000 And what have we done here at home in terms of our own stockpiles?
00:06:25.060 Well, we've been diminishing them almost immediately after Biden took office.
00:06:29.420 He began draining the strategic petroleum reserve.
00:06:33.080 And as inflation kicked into high gear, he kicked the draining of the reserve into high gear as
00:06:38.080 well as a means to artificially keep down the very prices that he was helping to push up.
00:06:44.700 And while you can see by that chart, more recently, those drains have really slowed and altogether
00:06:50.200 stopped.
00:06:50.900 But the problem is that we're still not producing enough here at home.
00:06:54.740 And so private stockpiles are now being drained instead of the government's reserve being drained.
00:07:00.980 So we haven't by any means fixed the problem at all.
00:07:04.100 We are still consuming more than we produce.
00:07:06.700 And we are still continuing to drain our stockpiles.
00:07:10.700 It's gotten so bad now, Natalie, that we don't even have the month's supply that we like to
00:07:16.660 have in case of an emergency.
00:07:18.300 We're down to between two and three weeks right now.
00:07:21.120 So essentially, we do not have enough oil reserve to currently meet a crisis.
00:07:25.920 And then you have people like Senator Lindsey Graham out there who's advocating that we just
00:07:31.100 go ahead and bomb the Iranian oil industry.

00:07:34.640 That's a great way to get oil to go to $300 a barrel tomorrow.
00:07:40.700 Can you walk us through that?
00:07:42.280 Because I think that Lindsey Graham clip on Fox, I wish we had it and I'd play it.
00:07:46.360 But it's very telling of where these people want to go with this conflict.
00:07:50.140 They want to turn it into another forever war, at least for their special interests and donors.
00:07:54.960 But I think if I'm not mistaken, it's about 17 days that we could last with our strategic
00:07:59.940 petroleum reserves with the levels that they're at now.
00:08:03.500 In your opinion, and please feel free to get into some of the new jobs numbers that are coming
00:08:07.700 out now, too.
00:08:09.420 But when we talk about this intentional versus incompetence debate, is there really any justification
00:08:14.820 for draining these reserves?
00:08:17.220 Again, considering that in the context of canceling the Keystone Pipeline and a bunch of other
00:08:22.460 moves that could only be described as just a full-on, full-scale assault of American energy.
00:08:28.860 Well, if I can take the economist hat off for a moment and become a pure cynic, I'd say the
00:08:35.340 motivation and the reasoning was it was an election year last year.
00:08:39.120 And so we had to bring inflation down and right quick.
00:08:42.220 And an easy way to do that is by bringing down energy prices.
00:08:45.480 And an easy way to do that is by flooding the market with oil.
00:08:49.500 And what's really, really sad is that a lot of that reserve actually didn't even stay here
00:08:54.840 at home and ended up getting shipped overseas to the CCP.
00:08:58.760 And so we were essentially subsidizing Chinese energy.
00:09:02.500 And now what do we have today?
00:09:04.220 Well, we drained a reserve that was bought at about $90 a barrel or so on average.
00:09:10.240 And now we're going to end up refilling it with oil that's 95 or higher.
00:09:14.340 So Joe Biden has managed to lose money on the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, unfortunately.
00:09:23.200 And I think we're going to have the Lindsey Graham clip momentarily.

00:09:32.240 I think we might have some moving around when it comes to our guests, but we will roll with it.
00:09:38.560 From the perspective of what Lindsey Graham said, obviously we don't support bombing Iran.
00:09:43.340 But it really seems like Joe Biden has sort of taken away a lot of our leverage on the global stage, right?
00:09:49.580 We are, of course, relying on a lot of these countries for oil.
00:09:53.080 Do you think the Biden regime would ever get to a point, just like they sort of did a 180 on the border wall, right,
00:10:01.480 where they were forced to admit that walls do work and that we're going to start pursuing building them?
00:10:05.980 Could you ever see them potentially reversing course on the green energy stuff on, you know, oil, American energy dominance?
00:10:14.180 Or do you think they are too far down the climate change cult to ever do a 180 or even a 90 degree turn would probably help?

00:10:22.840 They seem to be so in hock to the green energy lobby.
00:10:26.660 Green, of course, in quotes there, since we know it's not actually about environmentalism or keeping the environment clean or safe or anything like that.
00:10:33.560 It's about making money for the special interests, and it does a very good job at that.
00:10:38.100 But I think they are so in hock to that lobby that I'm not sure they can afford to abandon that
00:10:43.760 because it would mean giving up a tremendous amount of campaign contributions.
00:10:47.920 It would be a heck of a lot easier for them to goose the economy with additional military spending, for example, on a fake war or a real war, either one.
00:10:57.440 That would probably be a more realistic path that we could expect from this administration,
00:11:02.640 especially in the kind of faltering economy that we have right now.

00:11:37.800 Instead, according to former Defense Secretary Mark Esper,
00:11:41.260 he and the general made a pact to protect the military from becoming politicized or misused.
00:11:47.460 It's also been reported that you spent several days, several drafts of resignation letters.
00:11:53.580 That's right.
00:11:53.840 I was very struck by the one that was published, in which you said to the president,
00:11:59.000 it is my deeply held belief that you are ruining the international order,
00:12:03.220 causing significant damage to our country overseas that was fought so hard by the greatest generation in 1945.
00:12:10.560 That generation has fought against fascism, has fought against Nazism, has fought against extremism.
00:12:15.820 It's now obvious to me that you don't understand that world order.
00:12:21.980 You don't think Donald Trump understood what World War II was fought over?
00:12:26.280 I don't know what former President Trump understood about World War II or anything else.
00:12:33.740 I can tell you that from 1914 to 1945, 150 million people or thereabouts were slaughtered in the conduct of Great Power War.
00:12:43.980 And in 1945, the United States took the initiative and drafted up a set of rules that govern the world to this day.
00:12:51.120 Those rules are under stress internationally.
00:12:54.220 President Putin is a direct frontal assault on those rules.
00:12:57.560 China is trying to revise those rules to their own benefit.
00:13:00.400 But that's one thing to say that China is threatening that world order and Russia is threatening that world order.
00:13:06.120 To say that the commander-in-chief, Donald Trump, was ruining the international order and causing significant damage,
00:13:14.140 what did you see that caused you to write that?
00:13:16.900 I would say that—
00:13:17.840 It's got to be more than walking into Lafayette Square in uniform.
00:13:20.560 There was a wide variety of initiatives that were ongoing.
00:13:24.060 One of them, of course, was withdrawing troops out of NATO.
00:13:26.380 Those were initiatives that placed at risk, I think, America's role in the world.
00:13:32.800 Now, that is the opposite of what my parents and 18 million others wore the uniform for World War II to defeat.
00:13:41.460 I forgot when we held an election to elect Mark Milley, the decider of what America's foreign policy should be
00:13:50.720 and what represents the international consensus of what the world order should look like.
00:13:56.640 But that's basically what he just admitted to, I would argue, rather treasonously on air,
00:14:00.600 admitting that he had a pact with Mark Esper,
00:14:03.100 saying that we would not implement the agenda of the duly elected commander-in-chief, Donald J. Trump.
00:14:09.460 It sort of harkens me back to the days of the first impeachment of Donald J. Trump,
00:14:14.380 when you had all those witnesses saying,
00:14:15.720 well, President Trump strayed from the Washington consensus on how we approached foreign affairs,
00:14:20.700 and that's why he deserves to be impeached.
00:14:23.080 Well, good riddance to the Washington consensus of how we conduct foreign affairs,
00:14:28.340 because if there's no better example of that, it didn't work too well.
00:14:31.580 And by the way, while Milley was out on his little ego-driven media tour for the last three weeks,
00:14:36.240 that was when Hamas and Iran were finalizing their plans to attack Israel,
00:14:41.200 while we were busy focused on, like I said, Mark Milley's media tour, climate change,
00:14:46.020 and probably arresting the next MAGA grandma.

00:18:57.580 that we're just too focused on climate change and DEI and arresting, you know, MAGA and podcast hosts?

00:19:12.160 Look, leadership drives the priorities and they drive the focus of an organization.
00:19:16.280 And when Biden tells his national security apparatus that he's concerned with climate change
00:19:21.160 and that the number one threat to the United States of America is, you know, those nasty Trump supporters,
00:19:26.840 those deplorables, then the apparatus is going to prioritize based off that guidance.

00:19:34.900 So the fact that we are not focused on these legitimate threats, and it actually doesn't surprise me.
00:19:40.100 So the fact that this very well could be a just deliberate intelligence screw-up,
00:19:45.320 it's kind of hard to believe until you think about what Biden's been up to for the last three years
00:19:50.600 and the incompetency that he has been rewarding.

00:20:00.420 I spent some time in the CIA as a paramilitary operations officer,
00:20:03.380 and I know a lot of guys who really cut their teeth in the Middle East during the war on terror
00:20:08.320 who know that region very well, they've left under the Biden administration too.
00:20:12.460 And so you're not exactly getting your best folks that are monitoring these very complex and dangerous situations.
00:20:20.760 Well, speaking of not getting our best folks,
00:20:24.500 they certainly weren't sending their best when Mark Milley became chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
00:20:30.820 We played that clip from the 60 Minutes interview in the last block.

00:20:38.780 I don't know if you had the chance to see the clip or watch the interview,
00:20:42.040 but it really harkens back to, I think, what we were talking about,
00:20:44.540 which has to do with sort of, you know, for lack of a better example,
00:20:49.900 the first impeachment of Donald J. Trump,
00:20:51.980 where you saw these unelected bureaucrats having their own idea of what foreign policy should look like, right?
00:20:56.880 The Washington Consensus and being mad that the MAGA movement actively seeks to subvert it
00:21:02.060 because it doesn't work empirically, and we're seeing that on full display right now.
00:21:06.440 So when you talk about, you know, leadership failures,
00:21:09.400 what do you think, what's sort of your take on the Milley 60 Minutes tour?
00:21:14.700 And of course, the curious timing with all of this chaos unfolding in the Middle East right now.
00:21:20.360 Meanwhile, you've got Mark Milley, you know, pumping himself on the mainstream media.
00:21:26.540 Really, in this generation of general officers, number one, they're hyper-politicized.
00:21:32.080 They've been emboldened to think they don't need to listen to a commander-in-chief.
00:21:36.140 But then also, they've really just been rewarded for nonstop failure and becoming just political operatives, which is insane.
00:21:43.460 I spent 20 years in the military, and I never once had the inclination or the thought that it would be appropriate or legal
00:21:49.720 for me to go have a, you know, discussion with a reporter about my opinions on the commander-in-chief.
00:21:55.940 And Milley, as we now know, he took this, I mean, multiple steps further,
00:21:59.900 and he was having private conversations with leaders of the Chinese Communist Party's military saying,
00:22:05.520 hey, don't worry.
00:22:06.460 I promise if anything looks like it's going to go sideways for you guys, I'll give you a heads up.
00:22:11.400 Like I said, I spent some time in the intelligence community, too,
00:22:13.980 and one of the first things you do when you have a liaison relationship with a foreign official
00:22:19.960 is you try to get them to exceed their brief.
00:22:23.340 You try to get them to give you a little bit more information than they're supposed to
00:22:27.160 because you have such a good relationship or maybe because you figured out that that military leader
00:22:32.640 doesn't like the president that he's working for.
00:22:34.820 And the way that Milley described this, that's exactly what it sounds like to me.
00:22:38.280 So it's completely inappropriate that Milley's talking as a uniformed military officer,
00:22:42.320 which he was at the time when he was giving these interviews.
00:22:44.940 But what I think is potentially illegal was the fact that he was having off-record discussions,
00:22:50.260 clearly exceeding his brief with leaders of the Chinese Communist Party.
00:22:54.300 And like you said, during the first Trump impeachment, we saw folks like Vindemann say things like,
00:22:58.780 well, the president of the United States was going against the policy of the United States.
00:23:02.700 And so we really kind of saw behind the curtain with that regard.

00:41:23.320 But more importantly, I think if anyone could answer the question about the likelihood of these, you know, so-called sleeper cells or just the probability of people who have these terrorist ties turning violent, do you think that that actually is a serious, credible threat?
