Hamas crossed into Israel on September 28th, and the United States has no idea where to go from here. President Donald Trump speaks on the situation, and former President George W. Bush speaks about the potential for a second front.
00:04:28.860We need leaders in this country who will speak in moral terms in these moments.
00:04:36.420I must tell you, look, during our four years together, I heard him often use flattering terms to speak about authoritarian leaders.
00:04:45.720But I think it's out of place always, but especially now.
00:04:51.560This is a dire moment, and we are on the cusp of literally Israel leaning in, moving in ground forces, and hunting down and destroying those who would seek to destroy Israel.
00:05:10.320And I think in this moment we've got to send a clear and unambiguous message that we stand with Israel and we stand against Hamas, we stand against Hezbollah, we stand against any who would oppose her.
00:05:21.640The Ohio GOP Congressman Jim Jordan was nominated to be Speaker after garnering support from both the Post Speaker Kevin McCarthy and from Fox anchor Sean Hannity.
00:05:30.560Without a leader, the GOP has frozen the chamber during several looming crises from Israel's war against Hamas to a potential government shutdown now just 34 days away.
00:05:40.020It's unclear if Jordan can win enough support from the entire House to get the requisite 217 votes.
00:05:45.760In a secret ballot on Friday, he still had 55 Republicans opposed.
00:05:50.100Joining me now is the person who started this whole chain of events by pushing for McCarthy's ouster, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz.
00:05:56.400Congressman, do you regret ousting Kevin McCarthy given that Israel is now at war with Hamas and we don't have a speaker?
00:06:03.600Absolutely not. The United States stands with Israel. Israel has a right to defend itself, and there is no need expressed by Israel that the United States has not been able to meet.
00:06:12.560That's because we have Israel essentially on auto pay.
00:06:16.560As a consequence of legislation that was passed by Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, the administration is pre-authorized to meet any need that Israel could possibly express in this particular phase of the crisis.
00:06:29.560My expectation is that we will elect Speaker-designate Jim Jordan as House Speaker next week and will be prepared to move forward with resolutions of support.
00:06:38.160But those are non-binding expressions of our opinion. When it comes to the movement of specific materiel and the coordination on intelligence, we are pre-authorized because our relationship with Israel is that unique.
00:06:49.560This is the primal scream of a dying regime.
00:06:57.200Pray for our enemies, because we're going medieval on these people.
00:07:02.420Here's the reason I got a free shot at all these networks lying about the people. The people have had a belly full of it.
00:07:08.640I know you don't like hearing that. I know you try to do everything in the world to stop that, but you're not going to stop it. It's going to happen.
00:07:13.820And where do people like that go to share the big lie? Mega Media.
00:07:18.780I wish in my soul, I wish that any of these people had a conscience.
00:07:24.220Ask yourself, what is my task and what is my purpose?
00:07:27.980If that answer is to save my country, this country will be saved.
00:07:34.320War Room. Here's your host, Stephen K. Vance.
00:07:37.600It's Saturday, 14 October, Year of Our Lord, 2023.
00:07:44.400As you know, the Saturday show has a special place in our hearts.
00:07:49.820We're going to bring in Russ Vogt here in a second.
00:07:53.340The International Monetary Fund this week actually gave a presentation of where the world stands economically and financially.
00:08:01.720The number one nation they singled out as concern to the International Monetary Fund, and think about where they put their money by charter in these developing countries and they go and recut deals later when they can't get paid.
00:08:17.340They said the number one debt crisis in the world is the United States of America.
00:08:20.580They boldly came out and said the path, the fiscal irresponsibility of the United States of America is not sustainable, is not sustainable.
00:08:32.240I've got the one of the articles up on Getter, but there's a couple more we're going to put up.
00:08:36.220We're going to talk about that this morning.
00:08:37.400I want to get Russ Vogt in here to talk about because this audience are the only people on earth that are trying to bring sanity to this discussion, both where the country is financially and this invasion on the southern border.
00:08:52.020And it's all materialized in this fight over control, the speakership in the House of Representatives.
00:08:58.400But I want to say something, and I'll play this more of this later.
00:09:01.760However, Murdoch News Network, and particularly Sean Hannity and people like Lindsey Graham, talking about the wisdom of George Bush, they are hurting the cause of Israel.
00:09:16.480And we know the senior Israelis watch this show because of the feedback we get directly from them.
00:09:22.560The American Jewish community and people that support and love the nation of Israel, the war toxins, the irrational war toxins that are banging on Fox, and particularly in Sean Hannity's show, is hurting and going to hurt Israel.
00:09:42.440It's so lax content or contextualized over where the United States is just coming out of another disaster of the American empire in the Middle East, a 20-year war.
00:10:01.520Murdoch has got – and this is the way they roll.
00:10:04.020They've got the New York Post, the Wall Street Journal, Fox News all lined up.
00:10:43.160We're going to be begging for that type of money, the $115 billion we burned to kill 50,000 Ukrainians in Ukraine on a fantasy, a money laundering operation.
00:10:53.880We're going to wish we had that money back.
00:10:56.040Russ Vogt, you're here to get the war and posse to the ramparts.
00:10:58.980Jim Jordan, and I think Jim Jordan's people made a big mistake yesterday, and I said this not just on the show, I also said it behind the scenes.
00:11:06.340He should have immediately, as soon as he got the 124 votes, he should have – in my belief, he should have forced them to the floor.
00:11:12.240No second vote behind closed doors, anonymous.
00:11:16.460He should have gone to the floor and forced them.
00:11:18.340He should have smoked them out right then.
00:11:27.380But you're seeing why those that have more of a control of the calendar, Patrick McHenry's and others, even though they might be saying things of support to Jordan, why they want to push this into next week.
00:11:41.600And because you kind of zoom out a little bit, you see – and it's very intricately linked with what your opener was about in terms of the funding of Ukraine and maintaining kind of this neoconservative policy.
00:11:54.360Who are the ones that are mobilizing now to defeat Jim Jordan next week?
00:12:00.540Now this is – we're in the general election version of this.
00:12:02.880We're going to the floor, and the people that are mobilizing against Jim Jordan, who represents the country's willingness and desire to change the way Washington, D.C., the people mobilizing are the defense contractor community represented by the armed services, Mike Rogers.
00:12:19.280Remember, he's the guy that lost his mind and tried to attack Matt Gaetz on the floor of the House in January.
00:12:24.600And your old bulls in the Appropriations Committee.
00:12:26.880The key committee for the purposes of the cartel, particularly because we took over the rules committee earlier this year, Steve Womack, Mario Diaz-Ballard, those are the old bulls that are saying, look, you guys took out John Boehner, you took out Eric Kanter, you took out Paul Ryan, you took out Kevin McCarthy and Steve Scalise.
00:12:47.080You think we're going to give you the speakership to Jim Jordan?
00:12:49.700That's what is mobilizing this weekend in concert with the media saying that he is – he didn't have a stunning, successful vote.
00:13:00.500And then they gave a show vote to say – to provide some kind of pretext to saying that he didn't have the votes on the floor.
00:13:06.080Very few of those members, 55 or so, very few of those members are going to go to the floor and vote against Jim Jordan.
00:13:12.120They have no track record whatsoever to do it.
00:13:14.220But the main threat, though, and why I think this will be an enormous conflict about whether we save the country is now that we're an open field against the old bulls of the cartel, the Appropriations Committee and the Armed Services Committee.
00:13:29.280And it's incumbent to be ramping up over the weekend into next week because I think this is going to be one for the ages.
00:13:35.280I want me to – I'd like to hold you just through the break because we'll go into more detail.
00:13:42.820Why is – you've got about 60 seconds.
00:13:44.820Why is the Appropriations Committee such an important committee and we're really taking that on?
00:13:49.460The old – you call them the old bulls of the Appropriations Committee.
00:13:53.620Remember, we don't pass a lot of bills that are must-pass in the House of Representatives.
00:13:57.720It all gets done on these appropriations bills, these spending bills, which is why we've been so focused on this funding fight coming up in November.
00:14:06.980They know we have a funding fight coming up in November, and they are not going to allow – or they don't want to.
00:14:14.220They don't want to allow a speaker who thinks about the world the way we do.
00:14:18.860We won't always share the same opinion.
00:14:20.340There's going to be tactical play calls that you have to convince people, but in terms of someone that wants to use it for conflict with the Biden administration, they don't want that.
00:14:30.700The cartel doesn't want that, and that's why they're trying to have this last gasp of opposition to Jordan over the weekend.
00:14:39.600Russ, if you can just stay through because we've got a lot of work today.
00:14:43.140The war room posse has a lot of work to do over the weekend.
00:14:48.760As the general election for the House kicks off on Tuesday, with the preamble this weekend, the work we have to do, Russ Foe joins us after a short commercial break.
00:14:59.240I am the last person on earth to nag about your diet.
00:15:03.920I think you can see I don't always make the healthiest food choices either.
00:15:08.560But I will share that the Mayo Clinic says if you want to help prevent heart disease, lower blood pressure, and cholesterol, eat five servings of fruits and vegetables every day.
00:15:25.720That's why I take Field of Greens every morning.
00:15:28.320Unlike the others, each fruit and each vegetable in Field of Greens was medically selected by doctors to support your vital organs like heart, lungs, kidneys, and immune system.
00:15:39.920Flu season is here, and I trust Field of Greens to help me stay healthy.
00:16:10.740More energy, you'll look better, you'll feel better, and you'll get what the Mayo Clinic says is what you need in fruits and vegetables every day.
00:16:34.620So, Russ, I want to go through a couple things.
00:16:42.340I want to make sure we go through, it's very important to remind this audience, particularly so many that have come into this fight over the last couple years, there's a long and deep history here.
00:16:52.800You went through the chain of custody of Cantor and Boehner and Ryan, Cantor, Boehner, McCarthy we took out the first time, remember?
00:17:10.440That has been the Jim Jordan, the House Freedom Caucus, but the Breitbart, the populist nationalist movement as it was arising before and in the early years of Donald Trump, sir.
00:17:23.000Yeah, I think it's important for people to remember, and partly I was responding to your question the other day.
00:17:31.000Well, the cartel is fundamentally about a dislike and a hatred for the voters that elect them.
00:17:37.080That's what the division has been on the right for going on 10 years, right?
00:17:41.540And all of the speakers have been a part of that viewpoint with regard to managing.
00:17:48.760And once you hate your voters, what do you do?
00:17:50.460You manage them away from what they care about.
00:17:53.640You manage them away from the fight so that they can do something about it.
00:17:57.140And we've successfully been able to depose all of these leaders, and now we're on the cusp of being able to put into the second most powerful position in government
00:18:09.060someone who actually is at home with the war room posse, with the interests of what we're trying to do to save the country.
00:18:17.640And that's why I think this is such a seminal moment and why the cartel, the kind of old bulls of it, the ones that are not willing to say die, some of them were willing to say die, but some of them are not.
00:18:30.400And they're mobilizing over this weekend.
00:18:32.140And I think that's what's so critical about the moment that we are in.
00:18:35.380And it doesn't mean we're not going to have disagreements with Jim Jordan.
00:18:37.960We're going to have to talk through those, but you're getting someone, two things, you're getting someone you can trust in the sense that he wants to beat back the Biden administration and use confrontation to do it.
00:18:51.160And number two, you're getting someone that's willing to go on offense, who is not going to be trying to screw the voters and distract them from where the fight really is.
00:19:02.800And I think that's why this is so critical over the next several days and into the next week.
00:19:08.500In your analysis of primary versus general, can we, the audiences, can we wean him off of the, one of the problems is his staff not being particularly strong.
00:19:23.520He's very much influenced by McCarthy's people.
00:19:26.400Can we wean him off as he goes forward and builds a speakership, the influence of Kevin McCarthy and the cartel?
00:19:33.460I think we have a huge opportunity to do that.
00:19:36.760And I would just say that, remember, we still have coalition government in the House.
00:19:41.780The Rules Committee still has people like Ralph Norman and Chip Roy on.
00:19:45.880It still has a Thomas Massey, who is terrible on the debt limit, but he is very close to Jim Jordan and has an opportunity to make sure that the rules are in sync with where we're trying to go.
00:19:57.700And I think we have a chance to redeem him as well.
00:20:00.160So I think, yes, the answer is we have the tools in place to be able to have those conversations that get to the best strategic and tactical decision, which is often where some of the disagreements have been.
00:20:12.860But I think you've got to zoom out a little bit as you move out of the primary season where you might have a bunch of different conservatives running for speaker.
00:20:21.260Now they have all coalesced around one person.
00:20:26.680And it just so happens that person comes from the right, and that is why he is opposed by the establishment.
00:20:34.100He's a former House Freedom Caucus chairman.
00:20:38.320He is someone that Liz Cheney is up in arms over the weekend because he believed that there was issues with the last election that it was stolen.
00:20:45.400These things are all part of why we can trust him, but it's not going to alleviate the need to have hard strategic conversations that we have those tools in place to be able to do so.
00:20:57.040We'll always be on the right, trying to force the action.
00:21:02.560Here's why it's important, and I said this last week, being a southerner from Richmond, from Virginia, it always gets me that the southern bloc always votes totally establishment.
00:21:18.780And part of it is the appropriations and the armed services.
00:21:21.500They're completely owned by the defense industry because of the bases down there and now the manufacturing, the right-to-work states.
00:21:59.980They need to have – they need to be coming back and being – having their bell rung over the course of this weekend.
00:22:06.880And it's going to have to be on social media because the phones aren't exactly on over the weekend.
00:22:11.860But they need to know that how unpopular their position.
00:22:15.400You have Mike Rogers, Steve, is talking about actually getting the terms from the Democrats about what they need to have a bipartisan coalition.
00:22:24.840That is not – that is something that you have to want that to happen.
00:22:31.900It can be a thing if Jim Jordan is viewed as so offensive to these old bulls that they then try to formally constitute what we've known has been the bipartisan unity.
00:22:42.640And so he has to just be torched this weekend for that and I think send a message to any one of those 55 members that thinks they might potentially be opposed to Jim Jordan on the floor.
00:22:55.180And then the second message is this thing has to go to the floor.
00:22:58.980This thing – and you've been sounding this, John, for the last week.
00:23:21.900We've got to fight this one out publicly.
00:23:23.720This is – democracy is messy, but this is why I opposed doing anything more than the nominating.
00:23:28.940And yesterday with Jim's team, I just thought that take it right to the floor.
00:23:33.260Make Rogers and these guys in front of the nation, in front of their constituents down in Alabama and in Arkansas and Mississippi.
00:23:38.960Have them there and have them vote against you.
00:23:41.320Have them vote against President Trump's – the guy President Trump endorsed.
00:23:44.860I want to talk about another dark secret we should get on the table.
00:23:48.340When we talk about, Russ, the fight you've had to get a balanced budget and the fight that you had to get to pre-COVID – because if we went back to pre-COVID spending, we would take care of so much of the problem of the deficit.
00:23:59.080But it's not just the – the Democrats are out of control.
00:24:13.660They're the ones that are the biggest problems with regard to controlling spending.
00:24:18.700And everyone likes to blame the moderates, and the moderates aren't exactly helpful.
00:24:22.360But it's really in terms of controlling what gets put on the floor is those old bulls.
00:24:28.580And you've got Hal Rogers in Kentucky, Mario Diaz-Ballart.
00:24:31.780Tom Cole is both Rules Chairman and Subcommittee Appropriations Chairman.
00:24:36.760So these old bulls are the ones that want to have no business having anyone mess around with their terrain, their turf.
00:24:45.620And they're going to guard that with every last thing that they've got.
00:24:50.120And I think that's – if we don't get a handle on that, then we're not going to be able to be in a position to do what we've been calling for,
00:24:57.920of deconstructing the administrative state and woke and weaponized government.
00:25:03.440Folks, what Russ Focer is talking about, he's talking about the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
00:25:44.960When the International Monetary Fund, who deals with the most screwed-up nations on earth, when they make their big fall presentation and they single out the United States of America and just put – they hit us with both barrels.
00:25:59.300They said, this is fiscal irresponsibility.
00:26:03.900The law of large numbers is going to get you guys quickly.
00:26:07.160And rising rates as you refinance your 33 trillion in debt is going to crush your economy.
00:26:12.560Is that a warning we should take seriously?
00:26:14.640Yeah, and I think it's important to remember where it's coming from.
00:26:18.360This report comes from the same class of people that caused the problem, relationally, politically.
00:26:24.340I almost feel like someone probably got fired for putting it out there.
00:26:27.540But, yes, if they're saying it's a problem, it's because it's actually a problem and they're worried about it.
00:26:33.260And that message has to get through amidst kind of the political class in Washington, D.C. that doesn't want to do it and a media that lies about these reports when they come out.
00:26:44.200Often, you know, you go through these debt limit fights and someone says, well, we're going to downgrade your debt because of the fact that you're having this conflict.
00:26:51.960If you ever go back and read these things, they're downgrading it because the conflicts themselves don't produce actual spending cuts.
00:27:02.720It's not the fact that Washington, D.C. are using the leverage points to try to get to a better result.
00:27:09.760And so I think, you know, it's just one more of these flashpoints of truth globally that the United States has a problem.
00:27:17.600If we don't face it soon, it's going to grow.
00:27:20.060And the problem is it's like Niagara Falls.
00:27:22.140You're going to go over the cliff and you're not going to know when that cliff is coming up.
00:27:25.340Russ, where do people get you on social media this weekend?
00:27:30.160Because this weekend is a fighting weekend.
00:27:32.660You can get me an at Russ vote on all the social media channels and at M Renew Center,

00:28:31.000For war room veterans, you know, we have been all over the supply chain issue with China and medications and the active pharmaceutical ingredients.
