00:36:10.160 He said, we have to support Ukraine in both good times and bad.
00:36:14.420 We should also be prepared for bad news.
00:36:17.040 He didn't enter into specifics over what that bad news is, but it's widely being interpreted
00:36:24.780 as setting the scene for something disappointing from a pro-Ukrainian perspective.
00:36:33.960 Now, obviously, on the war, we've been covering this over the last couple of weeks.
00:36:37.340 And bearing in mind, Steve, that his predecessor, Anders Fogh, Basmussen, said just a couple
00:36:46.120 of weeks ago that NATO should be prepared to let the rump of Ukrainian-controlled Ukraine
00:36:52.400 enter into the Alliance and leaving out those territories like the Donbass and Crimea from
00:36:59.900 the Alliance.
00:37:00.540 That, I think, is where things seem to be going right in the present moment.

00:38:35.060 his chief of staff said last week and said that in this meeting that they have coming
00:38:40.840 up in about 10 days, the accession of Ukraine to the EU shouldn't even be on the agenda.
00:38:48.720 So I think what's happening is that certain, you know, those European voices that were hesitant
00:38:53.240 before, they didn't want to fall into line.
00:38:55.100 They're now increasing the strength of that position.
00:38:59.420 There's also, actually, he's got a great piece about the triple stalemate in Congress
00:39:04.660 and in Europe and the battlefield.
00:39:06.560 People should understand the Russians, and this is what happens when you press your bet
00:39:10.800 and you got nothing to back it up with and you're putting your people in jeopardy.
00:39:14.260 I think the Russians are looking at a winter offensive that's focused on Kiev and then you're
00:39:18.520 going to have all hell to pay.

00:50:12.460 All right, so let's just say that 20% we're talking about, I want to explain where that came from.
00:50:17.980 So let's just say we had three years and the inflation rate was 10% the first year.
00:50:22.960 That means your prices went up 10%.
00:50:24.960 Then the second year, the inflation rate came down.
00:50:29.540 So does that mean prices are going down?
00:50:32.040 No, it does not.
00:50:33.360 The second year, inflation was 5%, which means prices went up another 5% after the 10%.
00:50:39.920 And then in the third year, inflation now is down below 5%.
00:50:44.840 Well, let's just say 5% again to make it simple.
00:50:46.800 Prices are up another 5%.
00:50:49.860 So they're up 10% and then 5% and then 5%.
00:50:53.560 Nowhere in that story have prices gone down.
00:50:57.220 And that's why the American people are getting fooled by the mainstream media.
00:51:01.680 They're not giving an honest account of that 20% loss in purchasing power due to inflation.
00:51:09.020 And so let's take a look at the impact on the average American family in the next couple of charts.

00:51:33.500 The lower income class has grown from 25% to 29% and the upper income class has grown.
00:51:41.520 So the middle class bottom line is shrinking from 60% to 51%.
00:51:46.140 The next chart shows similarly, this is the rate of change in your income.
00:51:52.920 The lower income folks have had a 45% increase in their incomes over those 50 years.
00:51:59.580 So a little less than 1% income growth over those 50 years.
00:52:05.000 Middle income, 1% growth, and the upper income have seen growth in their incomes.
00:52:10.000 Of course, the rich have assets that have grown like crazy with a stock market boom.
00:52:15.760 But the next chart, this one really gets to the issue.
00:52:19.740 So the average family right now has about $100,000 in savings.
00:52:25.440 But that's very misleading, the term average, because that's got the billionaires in there.

00:52:31.240 The median family, the middle person in that income distribution we looked at in America, has only $28,000 saved for their entire retirement.

00:52:52.240 Remember, this ties directly to Nikki Haley, the CNN, the lead story I got up on Getter, that blazing headline that she's, her number one thing she's running on is tax, is go after Social Security.
