00:01:52.560 now is the question. It sure looks that way. The analysis appears to be changing, that it's not

00:01:56.960 just the House Republicans. And now it looks like it's going to be the Senate Republicans, too.

00:02:00.520 Minority Leader McConnell, in a closed-door meeting with his colleagues yesterday,

00:02:04.280 suddenly spoke very differently about this deal than he had in the past. We know McConnell has been

00:02:08.720 very strong and adamant that the U.S. needs to support Ukraine. He still is. But now he thinks

00:02:13.040 these packages might need to be separate, which would doom the Ukraine funding, because there

00:02:16.880 wouldn't be enough support, because the only way to get some Republicans to back Ukraine would be

00:02:21.120 to have this border security deal. But McConnell is admitting that Trump is saying, we don't want

00:02:26.260 this deal. And he is suggesting, he says here, quote, the politics on this have changed. He says,

00:02:31.980 we don't want to do anything to undermine him. Him being Trump, meaning we don't want to take an

00:02:37.720 election issue away from Trump. And if McConnell suddenly goes off on this deal, it is going to be

00:02:43.760 doomed. And it shows again the grip that Trump has on the party. And also Mitch McConnell, though he at

00:02:50.540 times has spoken up strongly against Trump, he has acknowledged he will vote for him again. He did not

00:02:55.680 follow through trying to convict Trump in his second impeachment trial post-January 6th. And now he seems

00:03:01.160 to be doing his bidding for his campaign, even if it hurts the American people and submarines a deal

00:03:07.120 that most people say they want. Ukraine literally running out of ammunition right now because of

00:03:12.720 inaction in the United States Congress. And certainly Republicans think that this is a good

00:03:17.620 bet for them. Jen Palmieri, they think the border is going to be a winning election issue. To Joe's

00:03:22.520 point, I think the Democrats think they can try to spin that in the months ahead if indeed this deal

00:03:27.480 falls through. But let's just take a moment, if you will, to weigh in on Mitch McConnell, who, yes,

00:03:32.260 occasionally stands up to Donald Trump. But once more, once more chooses power, chooses the quest

00:03:38.380 for power and will not defy Donald Trump and does not want to take away an election issue year away

00:03:43.360 from Trump or his own efforts to have a Republican Senate majority. He's so wily for a moment, I thought,

00:51:49.820 anything. In fact, the biggest scandal of this video is they actually allow a group of children

00:51:57.040 to cross the street in the direction of the pipe bomb and walk within feet of it. They're standing

00:52:04.840 around unconcerned. They allow children to walk within feet of the pipe bomb. A Capitol Police officer

00:52:10.980 walks right up to it, snaps a picture, gives a thumbs up sign. And then for the first time,

00:52:16.040 the whole seven minute video clip, they actually hustle and get the heck out of there.

00:52:21.400 But they don't hustle when they're informed of the bomb. They don't care about themselves.
