00:00:33.120 sermon preaching to his crowd his faithful flock of supporters. Three years ago we were a great nation

00:00:41.200 and we will soon be a great nation again. Initially his supporters greeted this moment by holding up

00:00:49.920 an index finger into the air signaling QAnon, the movement of conspiracy theorists, even though

00:00:55.440 the Trump campaign has distanced itself from that movement. In its place what we see are people

00:01:00.800 almost in prayer. The net effect here is Trump has turned the Republican Party into something

00:01:08.800 resembling the Church of Trump. There are a couple of reasons why Trump is doing this. One is to

00:01:14.880 deflect and distract from the 90-some charges he's facing. You know he's portraying himself as a

00:01:22.240 persecuted political martyr here. As someone who is being targeted because of his supporters beliefs

00:01:27.840 and not because of anything he's done wrong. And in the end they're not after me they're after you.

00:01:32.160 I just happen to be standing in the way and I always will. And another is a more nuts and bolts campaign

00:01:38.240 effect. The Trump campaign can spend less money turning out these voters. These devotees will come out in

00:01:44.080 mass to vote for him, while on the other hand, Democrats will try to use this against him. We'll

00:01:49.040 try to use these images to make this seem cult-like in order to spook moderate voters back into their column.

00:01:59.520 Donald Trump as a religious figure, Michael Bender, I found your article today so interesting because

00:02:04.160 I've been to like a hundred more Donald Trump rallies and they have a certain religious fervor to them.

00:02:10.560 They always have. But there is something notably different now. Tell me what you've observed.

00:02:17.040 Yeah, it's these like last 10 or 15 minutes of his rally. I mean these rallies have long been known as

00:02:21.760 for being raucous and volatile and off script. But now they change. It is a very big tone shift in

00:02:29.360 these last few minutes for his finale. It's very reverent, soft, reflective music plays throughout the

00:02:35.600 uh, throughout the arena. And he kind of recites this fairly tightly scripted, especially for

00:02:42.320 former President Trump, uh, a kind of political creed, uh, for his MAGA nation. And, um, I've had,

00:02:48.960 you know, I, I grew up Catholic. It reminded me a little bit of the Nicene creed, uh, we used to say

00:02:53.440 in church. And, uh, but I've, I've had other people describe this to me as, no, no, this is an altar call

00:02:58.800 at the end of, uh, of a lot of Christian services, this kind of ambient music plays and people come

00:03:04.480 down and, and, and proclaim their, their, their faith and, you know, in their Lord and savior.

00:03:09.200 And, and Trump has really, you know, this is how he's positioned himself in this, in this third

00:03:14.480 campaign. He is the, uh, you know, again, he is very careful not to call himself a Jesus figure,

00:03:21.040 but he, he very much presents himself as the one true Republican leader. And we've seen this at

00:03:25.920 multiple levels of the party, him replacing supporters at the Republican national committee

00:03:30.640 with people who are even more loyal to him, arm twisting in Congress to get people to back off

00:03:35.600 endorsements or to back off legislation that might be, uh, harmful to his campaign. And among the rank

00:03:41.440 and file level, this is how he does it. He's turned his rallies, uh, into a sort of aesthetic,

00:03:46.640 uh, church-like experience. Um, and, and, and supporters, uh, eat it up. I mean, they are,

00:03:53.200 um, you will at the end of the rally, you'll see people kind of bow their heads, uh, hold their,

00:03:56.960 you know, hold their arms close to their chest and, uh, almost like they're praying along with them.

00:04:01.680 Using this religious language, his supporters reacting to him again as a religious figure.

00:04:07.680 Is that, um, is that siloing off these voters or is it expanding the tent in this America and

00:04:16.080 America 2024 going into the election in November? What are you, what are you hearing as you do your

00:04:20.720 reporting on the ground? Yeah, well, I've, I've, look, I've talked to a number of Trump supporters,

00:04:25.360 um, over the past couple of months and a few weeks after that conversation that you guys reported in

00:04:31.680 Iowa, I was talking to a group of Trump supporters in, in South Carolina, and they were telling me how

00:04:39.360 they feel like they have a personal relationship with Donald Trump and that he cares about them.

00:04:44.480 He doesn't just care about the country, he cares about them. And, and it's one of the things that

00:04:49.760 I think may get lost is that, you know, for some voters and we talk to them, um, it's about the

00:04:56.400 policies or about the lesser of two evils. But one of the reasons why Trump's base of loyalists is so

00:05:02.800 steadfast is because they think he's a good guy and they think he cares about them and they don't

00:05:08.240 think that he has done anything wrong. And by the way, Katie, they don't think he's going to do

00:05:13.200 anything extra constitutional with this next term. If he wins it, they don't believe that he's going

00:05:18.960 to try and stick around after the term ends. They don't believe that he's going to try and

00:05:23.520 bend the constitution to his will in any illegal manner. When he talks about being a dictator on day

00:05:29.120 one, they understand that in their minds to mean he's going to pass executive orders like every new

00:05:34.320 president does on day one. And so it's just a completely different, uh, frame of mind for them.

00:05:40.400 But one of the reasons why they stick with him is we, you know, we can tick off the things that he

00:05:46.160 has done to push voters away, but he's also, you know, done these things to bring a community of

00:05:52.080 voters closer to him and keep them. And that's why he is in the position he is in.

00:31:43.720 was drawn in 2022. The same number of districts, but a few changes near Charleston that make one

00:31:50.200 district less competitive than it was before. Civil rights groups sued. They argued the map was drawn to

00:31:56.600 intentionally move thousands of black voters into a different district for political reasons and dilute

00:32:02.360 their voting strength. A three-judge panel frankly agreed. South Carolina... Let me have it.

00:32:38.360 What's the situation in Alabama, in North Carolina, in New York? Because folks, you have had Alex's back

00:33:39.000 those numbers and we had some breaking data and projections.

00:33:43.560 Hang on. I want to make sure the audience understands the impact of this and the lefties

00:33:46.920 that watch this show. As we went through this and talked, we had the great fights and the great

00:33:51.400 wins and 22 to lead up to that. But we looked at the map in, in, uh, we looked at the map in, um,

00:33:57.640 New York and also looked at the voting rights issues that they were going to come at us

00:34:01.880 in the South. And it was looking like a six to eight seat pickup. And that's what the,

00:34:06.200 they were banging the drum and all over this. And of course, Mark Elias, all these guys are all over

00:34:11.080 it. That article the other day and what they saw and sensed about as it comes down to this,

00:34:16.440 it's not going to be a six to eight seat pickup by the Democrats. It could be a net one,

00:34:20.840 net one increase to the Republicans. Is that where we stand on the 1st of April of 2024?

00:34:27.240 Yeah, it is. Yeah, it is a one. It's a plus one pickup. We don't necessarily see any opportunities

00:34:33.400 for any further changes as we draw into the military ballots going into the federal primaries

00:34:38.840 and whatnot. So we feel this is locked in. That's why with South Carolina, where they're melting down,

00:34:44.680 you know, they, they had one lower court rule that had to be looked at. Then that same court said,

00:34:50.040 let's do the election. Cause this is sort of getting drawn out. So they play a big game,

00:34:54.600 but the reality is New York was really the key Steve, because they talked about how it was sort

00:34:59.480 of Democrats are being timid, but it was really Republicans, Elise and some others that were on

00:35:04.840 very hard offense on the counter offensive in 2022. We went to court, we won. They were very

00:35:10.280 nervous about another lawsuit. And so for them, they mostly folded, uh, due to the pressure and

00:35:15.560 sort of the inside games, we had people actually inside the room with them. So there you go for

00:35:19.960 everyone watching. And we were able to play them off each other and got this map through,

00:35:24.120 which in New York, we can hold every seat and pick up one, we believe, um, actually pick up two

00:35:29.800 now that we lost New York three. So everything's in play. It's very interesting, of course, across

00:35:35.240 the board, but that net one pickup due to North Carolina is critical. Of course,

00:35:42.440 again, the result, what is this? Chris, state Supreme court seat. Sorry. Yeah.

00:35:47.400 I, this is what I'm saying. State Supreme court. I want to go to the, they're, they're going crazy

00:35:54.040 about state Supreme courts and about, I guess our own US Supreme court too, or the federal,

00:35:58.600 what is happening on the legal side that looks like it more has our back or am I misinterpreting

00:36:04.360 that? Because the left MSNBC is going crazy that I guess the courts haven't really backed them up at

00:36:09.560 the end of the day, particularly people moving, uh, more quickly.

00:36:13.080 Well, they, they've tried to move. I mean, this stuff sort of came out of nowhere. I mean,

00:36:17.560 this sort of unprecedented how quick they tried to move. I think what you see here is, I mean,

00:36:22.440 these guys are tough, these Democrats, but it's a lot of grift. I mean, they, they talk a good talk,

00:36:27.000 they get out there, the media feeds it, they get their people in a, in sort of a frenzy,

00:36:31.080 the money starts pouring in, they sell this stuff to donors. And I mean, they really have no legal basis

00:36:36.120 for most of this stuff. And some of this stuff needs to be really looked at, of course. And so

00:36:41.080 it's all about the state Supreme courts. It's all about state courts sort of broadly on this front.

00:36:46.280 That's the key, especially in these battleground states and especially in the context of counting

00:36:50.680 the votes in 2024, of course. So it's all connected and it's been sort of interesting how this has

00:36:55.800 played out behind the scenes, as well as sort of out in front with the posse.

00:37:06.280 and it gets so complicated to follow, but we're about 217 to 213 right now, roughly.

00:37:29.320 article, Steve, where they'd go through the map and it's really, really tight map. I mean,

00:37:32.840 it's real tight. Just due to redistricting, there's just less, quote unquote, competitive

00:37:37.640 toss-up seats. And in the competitive toss-up seats, all of the fundamentals and metrics of

00:37:43.560 which we've talked about on War Room are now being sort of explained by the mainstream media to the

00:37:49.240 rest of the country, where Republicans hold an advantage to pick up seats if we can execute and

00:37:54.840 get a handle on turning out the vote and protecting the vote, of course. And so now the mainstream media,

00:38:00.040 they're acknowledging our wins on redistricting. They're acknowledging that House of Republicans

00:38:03.720 have very strong structural advantages on this map, which is a very, very tight map,

00:38:09.720 as we also discussed at the force multiplier event as well. Tight map, 34 target seats.

00:38:16.600 So in the tight map, it looks like structurally and where we stand, is it 220 to 222? I mean,

00:38:23.000 is that where people, and I understand you've got to execute, you've got to be on this. They're

00:38:25.960 going to become, they're going to be bringing heavy artillery for this. But you've got to feel

00:38:31.160 pretty, pretty good about where we could have been versus where we are today. Am I incorrect on that?

00:38:38.600 That's right. I mean, we've got strong candidates. We're getting some of the fundraising and small

00:38:43.480 dollar fundraising where it counts, which is in candidate campaign accounts, which is the most

00:38:49.080 critical and important donation that you can make is to a candidate that you support that's sort of on

00:38:54.360 those frontline seats because the candidate dollars can be spent much more efficiently and effectively

00:38:59.880 just by law and a lot of other reasons as well. And so that's important, as well as the fact that

00:39:05.000 you've got four Democrats that are in these target seats that are quitting. We have zero Republicans

00:39:09.640 that are in kind of competitive seats. All of these retirements are in the conservative seats.

00:39:14.680 And so it's a much different dynamic than on the Democrat side. And that's not talked about. Now you've

00:39:19.560 got five Democrats actually with the New Hampshire second district with the leader of the Democrat

00:39:25.000 moderate caucus throwing in the towel. So, I mean, this stuff is really sort of big deal actually.

00:39:33.400 Was that a shocker for you up in New Hampshire? It caught me by surprise. Did it catch you by surprise?

00:39:38.360 Yeah. I mean, she's, she's tough. I mean, we, you know, that's somewhat of a little,

00:39:42.120 it's a, it's a battleground seat. That's one that Biden wins single digits.

00:39:45.560 Um, that's a target seat. She, you know, she's was well liked. I mean, you have some of these

00:39:51.080 Democrats that have built their own name ID. They've, they've run tough races and they've won.

00:39:56.680 Think about Spanberg or some of these people, Kilmeade and they're out. And, um, all of them

00:40:01.160 are really sort of a surprise to all of us because I think they're going to struggle to hold these seats.

00:40:06.200 Um, and an open seat is much, much tougher to hold, especially when you've got crazy Democrats

00:40:12.120 running in some of these primaries. I think you've got Vindman. I mean, he's a total lunatic.

00:40:16.040 He's running in that Spanberger seat and he's got massive issues across the board, which we know.

00:40:22.360 Big issues, but he's raised a lot of money. You're saying they've also come,

00:40:26.760 when we see these people like Spanberger and these people that she's going to go run for the 1.00

00:40:30.040 government. I got it. But they essentially for the audience, they essentially look, they know it

00:40:35.320 sucks to be in the minority. Uh, they look out there and they say, I seen the restructuring.

00:40:39.960 I seen the redistricting. I see the map. I don't see us pulling this off. I want out.

00:40:44.360 I'm gonna go try something else. Is that one of the things that's going with that

00:40:47.560 is flowing through here that we should focus on?

00:40:50.760 Yeah. I mean, they would rather roll the dice at sort of running for Senate and lose than

00:40:55.800 sort of lose in their house seat. Um, and so that's a big deal because they know that they

00:41:00.760 are in a tough position, Senator, government, uh, governor in the case of Spanberger, of course,

00:41:05.480 um, slotkin in Michigan Senate, of course. So they're all, and they're all not pulling well.

00:41:10.440 And so it's racist that they're running. And so that's also sort of an interesting situation. But,

00:41:14.520 um, you know, the left has a lot of internal problems. They don't get talked about as much.

00:41:20.040 You've got this sort of Michigan and Minnesota issue. I'm hearing from Democrats in New York with

00:41:25.400 Jewish support eroding rapidly, uh, due to a bunch of issues. So Biden is getting pulled in a million

00:41:31.560 directions and the house Democrats are in free fall. They were told to talk about by nomics.

00:41:36.440 Now they don't. Now the only people talking about by nomics or house Republicans, of course,

00:41:40.760 litigating the issues. And so I think Axios had a good spread on sort of how many times that name

00:41:45.960 was sort of mentioned. I was saying it of course, and you know, I'll try to figure out what to do,

00:41:51.480 what to say. And the poll numbers, I mean, they're catastrophic. You've got illegal immigration 1.00

00:41:56.680 and the border invasion being the number one unprompted issue with voters in the Gallup poll,

00:42:01.800 or in console, Paul Bloomberg, all these polls. I mean, this is mag has ascended on every single

00:42:07.400 front, Steve. Real quickly. I know you got to bounce real quickly. Mark Elias talked a lot of

00:42:13.400 smack and you know, we think he's the evil genius. How did he not, how did he end up with these terrible

00:42:19.080 results? I think a lot of it is, you know, these guys in D.C., what happens is, Steve, is they push,

00:42:27.480 they push, they push. You know, they're on the phones and they're trying to pressure these Democrats,

00:42:31.160 right? You know, you look at New York, for example. I mean, you have, I know for a fact,

00:42:35.480 because Hakeem Jeffries put out a statement publicly and opposed the sort of bipartisan map

00:42:41.400 that got put out of the commission and talked to all types of crazy stuff. We know that they were

00:42:46.200 desperately working the phones, calling and certainly threatening Democrats. And a lot of

00:42:51.560 Democrats are afraid politically for their own issues. And I don't think that game is working

00:42:56.120 much longer with a lot of people. They don't really care about Central Democrat HQ and people

00:43:01.800 calling from D.C., threatening some of these guys, just like some of our people. They just want to kind

00:43:06.600 of get by and move along. They don't want some of the heat. That's why it's so important that we go on

00:43:11.880 offense on every single avenue we can on this front. We have the posse calling our people,

00:43:16.760 calling their people, putting the pressure on because they folded. I mean, that's what happened.
