00:01:31.000 So I just want to say thank you to him for allowing me to do this today.

00:01:39.000 It's an incredible honor to be sitting here with one of the great Congresswomen
00:01:45.000 President serving in the United States House this year.
00:01:49.000 Well, hell, in any time in American history.
00:01:52.000 And the great Maureen Bannon.

00:01:58.000 What did you think of last night?
00:02:01.000 Last night was amazing, I have to tell you.
00:02:04.000 There were so many pieces that were incredible.
00:02:07.000 President Trump coming out.
00:02:09.000 He's the people's president.
00:02:11.000 And coming out and just, you know, he could have stayed back.
00:02:15.000 He could have waited all the way till Thursday.
00:02:18.000 But he is so thoughtful and wants to be with the people.
00:02:22.000 And that was incredible.
00:02:24.000 The emotion.
00:02:25.000 I've been to how many dozens or hundreds of rallies with him.
00:02:31.000 And to be watching it on television and not be there, to be honest with you,
00:02:36.000 by his side, hurt a lot of us.
00:02:40.000 But Dan Scavino, one of the all-time greats, one of the originals, you know,
00:02:45.000 really contacted us pretty quickly and said he's okay.
00:02:49.000 He was by his side.
00:02:51.000 And, like, you're exactly right.
00:02:53.000 He could have easily disappeared until Thursday night.
00:02:57.000 But he wanted to reassure, in my opinion, he wanted to reassure the American people that he was okay.
00:03:04.000 He wanted to show strength and, quite honestly, bravery by stepping out on that floor last night.
00:03:11.000 And what an incredible welcome he received.
00:03:15.000 Mo, what did you think of last night?
00:03:17.000 I thought it was amazing.
00:03:18.000 And, like you said, he wanted to show strength.
00:03:21.000 The left wanted him to be defeated and act defeated and just stay hidden until Thursday.
00:03:27.000 And he wasn't going to let that happen.
00:03:29.000 He wasn't going to, you know, he's not a weak man by any means at all.
00:03:33.000 No, no, no.
00:03:34.000 He's not.
00:03:35.000 I mean, the fact that he got up and said fight, fight, fight on Saturday shows just how much strength he has.
00:03:40.000 But the fact that he wanted the American people to see that.
00:03:44.000 He didn't want them to see someone, you know, scared.
00:03:49.000 And he's not scared.
00:03:50.000 And it was great to see.
00:03:51.000 And it just brought about a ton of emotion.
00:03:53.000 And, I mean, I respect him for being out there last night.
00:03:58.000 It was an incredibly emotional moment.
00:04:00.000 So, the left has tried to destroy him.
00:04:06.000 They've tried to jail him.
00:04:08.000 And now, somebody tried to kill him.
00:04:11.000 I mean, this is, these are desperate acts.
00:04:14.000 And this may be a lone guy.
00:04:16.000 And, you know, we don't know anything about what happened with this.
00:04:19.000 And we're not trying to piece that together today.
00:04:21.000 But it is where we are heading.
00:04:25.000 That's the scary part.
00:04:26.000 I think you would agree.
00:04:27.000 It is a scary thing when you see President Trump up there and you expect him to be safe.
00:04:34.000 You don't expect bullets to be literally whizzing by his ear.
00:04:39.000 A quarter inch difference.
00:04:40.000 If he doesn't turn his head.
00:04:42.000 If the gunman is a little bit better shot.
00:04:45.000 I mean, any number of things.
00:04:47.000 And we would be holding a memorial service and a funeral this week instead.
00:04:52.000 And so, really, it's angels on President Trump's shoulders, in my opinion.
00:04:57.000 And my dad said this, and I agree with him, that President Trump has the armor of God around him.
00:05:02.000 And, you know, it was, I truly believe that it was God that made sure that we have him still here with us today.

00:05:11.000 And not, like you said, planning a funeral for him.
00:05:14.000 Totally agree.
00:05:15.000 It was an incredible experience last night to be there and watch him come in.
00:05:20.000 The pick of J.D. Vance.
00:05:22.000 I think the audience here today is probably incredibly excited that J.D. Vance is intellectually, as an activist, as somebody who, his background with his military, his entrepreneurship, his service in the United States Senate.
00:05:44.000 Somebody who can do an incredible job as a partner to President Trump.
00:05:49.000 What do you think of the pick?
00:05:50.000 I'm thrilled.
00:05:51.000 And I can tell you there's a lot of people probably watching that are concerned about his never-Trump background.
00:05:56.000 Listen, I was concerned about that, too, David.
00:05:59.000 And I'll be very honest about it.
00:06:00.000 I've been on the Trump train day one.
00:06:03.000 So, for me, anybody that was a never-Trumper, I am highly suspect of.
00:06:06.000 And I think that's the right way to be, I mean, given what we've seen over the years.
00:06:11.000 But let me go further on this.
00:06:13.000 I was also the first member of Congress to endorse J.D. Vance.
00:06:18.000 I jumped out there early because I did my homework, got to know him, learned about why he'd switched from being a never-Trumper to being a big MAGA Trump supporter.
00:06:29.000 And we have him.
00:06:30.000 He is solidly America first.
00:06:32.000 He is solidly a populist.
00:06:34.000 He really cares about this entire country.
00:06:37.000 Here's the great news.
00:06:38.000 If you look at his voting record, it's fantastic.
00:06:41.000 If you look at his hearings, he's done an incredible job on the issues.
00:06:44.000 J.D. joined me in not sending any money to Ukraine.
00:06:48.000 He is very much against these forever wars in foreign countries while our borders wide open.
00:06:54.000 Here's what he also did.
00:06:55.000 I have a bill called Protect Children's Innocence Act.
00:06:58.000 It makes it a felony to perform gender-affirming care on children.
00:07:02.000 That's right.
00:07:03.000 When J.D. Vance came in the Senate, he introduced the Senate counterpart to my bill.
00:07:09.000 We have the exact same bill in the House and the Senate.
00:07:12.000 J.D. is a champion for all the causes we care about, and I think he's going to make a remarkable vice president.
00:07:18.000 And then we can judge him for his record serving alongside President Trump.
00:07:23.000 Without question, what do you think, Moe?
00:07:25.000 I think it's great to have someone that is so young.
00:07:28.000 The fact that he's 39 years old, he can give a younger perspective, and he can get the younger voters out.
00:07:34.000 You know, we see that, you know, we're not as strong in the younger voter category with the GOP.
00:07:43.000 So, you know, he can bring out that younger vote with the bigger ideas that, you know, President Trump maybe hasn't thought of.
00:07:51.000 There's no question. J.D. Vance really, also, I think politically speaking, in a vote-getting sense, really is going to help in that belt from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota.
00:08:08.000 Those key battleground states that he can help President Trump in, he speaks to those voters directly.
00:08:15.000 And I think that his background is going to help us in those key battleground states.
00:08:20.000 The states that we went out and won when everybody said we were crazy in 2016.
00:08:26.000 Because Trump spoke to the forgotten men and women of this country, and that's what J.D. is going to continue.
00:08:33.000 Absolutely. That's why I supported President Trump.
00:08:36.000 Way before I was political, way before I even thought about running for Congress.
00:08:40.000 It's just what you said, David, is President Trump spoke to the forgotten American, and that's who J.D. Vance cares about.
00:08:47.000 And his book showed that, all of his speeches, all of his issues.
00:08:52.000 He cares about the American worker, and it really is exciting.
00:08:56.000 What did you think about Sean O'Brien's, the head of the Teamsters Union speech last night?
00:09:02.000 Amazing. I mean, truly amazing.
00:09:06.000 And I think his speech really showed that our party, the Republican Party, is the party for the American people.
00:09:13.000 Not for the elites, not for the globalists, not for, you know, just establishment Washington.
00:09:19.000 His speech really embodied the spirit of America and the Republican Party.
00:09:24.000 And he really spoke to the politics of the Democrat Party being broken, and how they rejected his offer to come and speak to them.
00:09:33.000 You want to talk about unity, you know, where's the Democrat unity when they can't, when they've lost the union leadership?
00:09:39.000 That's, well, first of all, we'll take that all day.
00:09:42.000 Because since Ronald Reagan, the union leadership has been with the left.
00:09:48.000 They've been with the Democrat leaders.
00:09:50.000 It's just a fact. It's not an opinion.
00:09:53.000 And it's a fact.
00:09:54.000 Every four years, they endorse the Democrat.
00:09:57.000 But the working men and women on the floor, those factory workers, the pipe fitters, the steam fitters, the electricians, the auto workers, the men and women on the floor have supported Republican candidates after Republican candidates.
00:10:13.000 Not the leadership, but the men and women who are paying the union dues.
00:10:16.000 This seems to be the first union president to have his finger on the pulse of his membership.
00:10:21.000 And that's really exciting.
00:10:23.000 I got to be honest with you, that's a, this is a game changing moment for the Republican Party.
00:10:27.000 Because if we can move forward, once President Trump wins and solidifies that over his next four years,
00:10:34.000 and shows that the work to the, shows the working men and women that we do care, that we do, are going to give them those, those tax cuts and make them permanent.
00:10:43.000 We're going to make sure that the illegal immigrants aren't coming here and taking their jobs.
00:10:48.000 Filling beds in emergency rooms.
00:10:50.000 That's, look, that's what the American people care about.
00:10:53.000 Taking, taking seats in schools.
00:10:56.000 If you come here legally, God bless you.
00:10:58.000 That's right.
00:10:59.000 If you come here illegally, we're going to, we're going to have to send you back.
00:11:02.000 Because America, under Joe Biden, under Joe Biden's economy, under Joe Biden's inflation disaster, America's going broke.
00:11:12.000 I mean, we have, we have the greatest workforce in the world, and America's going broke because of just unbelievable and irresponsible spending on one hand by Joe Biden for four years.
00:11:26.000 And then the open borders crisis, it caught, you say this so well, we, every town in America, I don't care where you are, is a border town because they're shipping illegal immigrants to those cities.
00:11:41.000 And so you talk about taking beds in hospitals in the ER, you talk about urgent care, you talk about education, you talk about, no matter what you're trying to do, every community is impacted.
00:11:53.000 And they're the community that has to pay the local taxes to then go to people who are not here legally.
00:12:00.000 So Joe Biden has transformed this country, not in a good way.
00:12:05.000 And so we have to win this November, and everybody listening, Steve's mantra, right, we are not sitting back.
00:12:13.000 We are going to go out and work and fight for victory every single day between now and November 5th.

00:12:22.000 We're, we're at a turning point in this country.

00:17:36.000 He's a fighter.

00:17:46.000 And I think it makes the choice very clear for the voters in November that it is a clear

00:19:12.000 And what went through your mind and the emotions that you saw and felt?
00:19:17.000 Look, it's just extraordinary.

00:19:21.000 What I thought is I thought back to what I thought right after the assassination attempt on Saturday.
00:19:30.000 When he'd been shot in the ear and then he went down for a minute.
00:19:35.000 And then when he came back up and before he left the stage, he, you know, pumps his fist in the air and tells everyone to fight.
00:19:45.000 I mean, that was unbelievable.
00:19:49.000 That is not the way typical people react to being shot.
00:19:54.000 And it was inspiring.
00:19:56.000 It was heroic.
00:19:57.000 And I viewed last night his entrance as really a continuation of that, that you are not going to keep him down no matter how hard you come after him, whether you impeach him, whether you impeach him again, whether you indict him, whether you indict him again and again and again and again, whether you try to take all of his money in a garbage civil suit or whether you shoot him.
00:20:17.000 He keeps fighting.
00:20:19.000 I mean, you know, it's reminiscent of the movie Terminator, that no matter what you do, he keeps coming.
00:20:27.000 And it was really powerful.
00:20:29.000 You know, I couldn't agree with you more.
00:20:33.000 It is, it has been an incredible, it was an incredible experience to be in the convention hall last night and watch him.
00:20:43.000 There was emotion in the room.
00:20:45.000 There was just emotion that was felt.
00:20:49.000 I felt it was palpable that the, that the people in that room who all had been to Trump rallies, right?
00:20:57.000 This, these are the Americans that go to Trump rallies that are delegates to this convention and guests to this convention.
00:21:03.000 And they all connect with those people who were wounded and that incredible family that lost their dad.
00:21:11.000 Uh, and it is a, it is a true American tragedy that we are, we are here.
00:21:16.000 Uh, and I hope that in the United States Senate, um, Senator, there needs to be a real investigation, uh, of what, what people knew and, and, and what actions were taken.
00:21:31.000 The secret service to, and I love the men and women of the secret service, but the leadership of the secret service is different from the membership of the secret service, right?
00:21:42.000 That's the, that's just by the way, just like Sean O'Brien last night, he's the head of the teamsters.
00:21:48.000 And there's a difference sometimes historically between the leadership of unions and the men and women on the floor of the factories that they represent.
00:21:56.000 And this is the first time it seems to be there together.
00:22:00.000 Um, the secret service, the men and women who are so dedicated and, and through their bodies on president Trump, uh, that we're not talking about them.
00:22:11.000 We're talking about the leadership of the United States secret service.
00:22:15.000 And there needs to be a real investigation into the politicization of the secret service and the director of the secret service.
00:22:24.000 Dave, that is absolutely right.
00:22:27.000 As you know, I do a podcast every week.

00:22:32.000 I do it Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
00:22:34.000 The, our latest podcast that just came out yesterday is entirely on this topic.
00:22:40.000 It is entirely focused on how in the hell could the, the, the, the assassination attempt of Trump be allowed to happen.
00:22:49.000 And it breaks down the catastrophic security failing that occurred on Saturday.
00:22:55.000 And, and you rightly drew a distinction, but, but between the agents, the secret service agents who are heroes.
00:23:01.000 And, and on that afternoon, they threw their bodies in front of the president.
00:23:06.000 They, they put their bodies between him and a bullet.
00:23:09.000 They did their job.
00:23:10.000 They performed admirably and with heroism.
00:23:13.000 It is a very different decision to say that the secret service leadership, the bureaucracy, all the way up to the political leadership, they had an absolute and total failure on Saturday.
00:23:29.000 There is no excuse, none whatsoever, that there was not sufficient manpower to keep the president safe.
00:23:35.000 There is no excuse that that roof was left unsecured, that there was not a secret service agent on that roof to begin with.
00:23:43.000 There is no excuse that there was not sufficient counter snipers in place to have visibility of every elevated rooftop from which you, you, you could fire a shot.
00:23:53.000 There is no excuse that they did not have aerial surveillance.
00:23:56.000 They had no drones.
00:23:57.000 They had no helicopters.
00:23:59.000 And this was, I believe, and I lay out the evidence for it in the podcast verdict.
00:24:04.000 I believe this was a political decision by a political appointee of this administration.
00:24:09.000 And I think the consequences were deadly.
00:24:12.000 I've joined with a number of other senators in demanding that the Senate Judiciary Committee hold an emergency hearing that we bring, bring in front of us.
00:24:21.000 The director of the Secret Service, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and the administrator of the FBI, the director of the FBI, and all three of them put them on record.
00:24:32.000 What the hell happened?
00:24:34.000 What are the facts?
00:24:35.000 And also, how many threats had been directed at Donald Trump?
00:24:40.000 I'm willing to venture the number of threats directed to Trump is going to be orders of magnitude higher than anybody else.
00:24:46.000 And, yes, they were still treating him with a half detail from a former president rather than with the detail merited as the leading candidate for president of the United States today.
00:24:57.000 I think that was a political decision as well.
