00:00:59.000 We were talking about how the Epoch Times got started out of the Falun Gong movement.
00:01:07.000 The one thing I wanted to mention, Steve,
00:01:10.000 with respect to the Falun Gong that everybody in this audience needs to know,
00:01:15.000 and I think many of them do is the horrific organ harvesting that the Chinese Communist Party conducts on live prisoners.
00:01:28.000 How many Falun Gong prisoners are in the Chinese gulags and how pervasive is that organ harvesting?
00:01:36.000 Well, it's such a heavy subject because to just say it like casually, forced live organ harvesting, being from the United States, this is something that is just unfathomable.
00:01:49.000 And it's not black market like you may see or hear about in India.
00:01:54.000 This is state run by the Chinese Communist regime.
00:01:58.000 And that's one of the things that I'm actually most proud of to be affiliated with NTD and the Epoch Times is the fact that we broke that story in around 2006 in a northeast province of Shenyang, or excuse me, Shenyang City in Liaoning province.

00:02:15.000 And this is pervasive.
00:02:17.000 I have interviewed people whose parents have disappeared and their bodies are then retained and they're unrecognizable dead and organs likely extracted from them.
00:02:31.000 This is me personally meeting them in terms of documentation.
00:02:35.000 Former Secretary of State David Kilgore of Canada and renowned human rights attorney David Mattis have thoroughly, thoroughly exposed this crime.
00:02:46.000 There was the China Tribunal that took place in London in 2018 that is also unearthed this horrific crime.
00:02:54.000 And to be clear, so people understand, the Chinese Communist Party arrests Falun Gong members, puts them in these gulags.
00:03:05.000 They're the ones who make your clothes and other things that wind up in Walmart and the healthiest ones.
00:03:13.000 It's kind of interesting.
00:03:16.000 I was talking to Kilgore.
00:03:18.000 He was in my movie Death by China.
00:03:20.000 We featured this as a story.
00:03:23.000 And the one thing they have at these gulags is very good health care, not for everybody, but for the healthiest people who are there, because these are the ones that are going to be euthanized.
00:03:39.000 And then as they're alive, as they're alive, they'll take out their corneas, their kidneys, their hearts.
00:03:50.000 And that stuff goes into boxes of ice.
00:03:54.000 And a lot of it services the elites in communist China, but it's also an export industry.

00:04:03.000 You are 100 percent correct.
00:04:04.000 There's something called transplant tourism.
00:04:07.000 So it's not just the high ranking cadres in China.
00:04:10.000 You also have wealthy people from all around the world.
00:04:13.000 And to your point, when it comes to this investigation, there were independent investigators who would call military hospitals in China, where this was being sanctioned and being done, and they would pretend that they were somebody who needed an organ.
00:04:30.000 And one of the questions that they would ask the officials at these hospitals were, are they coming from Falun Gong practitioners?
00:04:37.000 And the other end of the line reassured them that they were.
00:04:40.000 Why?
00:04:41.000 Because Falun Gong practitioners don't smoke.
00:04:43.000 They don't drink.
00:04:45.000 They're known to be extremely healthy individuals.
00:04:48.000 And so what will happen is in China, because Falun Gong has been outlawed, there is an office called the 610 office that was created on June 10th, 1999, specifically to persecute Falun Gong.
00:05:02.000 It has extra judicial power, and it will go around like the Gestapo, round up these practitioners.
00:05:08.000 They will match their blood.
00:05:10.000 If their blood matches, you can get an organ in China in two weeks.
00:05:14.000 In the United States, it took Dick Cheney over two years to get a heart transplant.
00:05:19.000 And that's how quick, because they have that live pool of organs.
00:05:22.000 Then, once they extract the organ while you're alive, because the organ is more valuable when the person is alive, that's why they do it when they're alive.
00:05:29.000 They will then take the organ, cremate the body, so basically burn the evidence, and tell the family, here are the ashes.
00:05:37.000 Your relative committed suicide.
00:05:39.000 They jumped off of the building.
00:05:41.000 Sorry, we didn't have the space.
00:05:43.000 Here's the ashes.
00:05:44.000 It continues to this day, and the world allows it.
00:05:53.000 Let's talk a little bit about how you gather the news and disseminate it to Communist China, and how you fend off the cyber attacks, the DNS attacks, and things like that.
00:06:09.000 Give the posse an idea of how big your audience is and the way you get the news to people on the Chinese mainland and to Peoria, Illinois.
00:06:22.000 So before I answer that, which I will, I just want to make the distinction that when I speak here, I am speaking on behalf of NTD, New Tang Dynasty.

00:06:33.000 I don't represent Falun Gong, just like the New York Times doesn't represent Judaism.

00:06:39.000 In terms of what we are and how we do it, a lot of people might not realize we're actually the fourth largest in terms of paid subscription.
00:06:49.000 So you have New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and then the Epoch Times.

00:06:55.000 On the NTD side, we are broadcasting, we have satellites that actually have the ability, you have the ability in China, which is blocked off, to receive our satellite signal.
00:07:06.000 And inside of mainland China, we have reports that many of the people are able to receive our information, read our sites through VPNs, and to bypass that firewall.
00:07:18.000 But of course, we're blocked on your average internet service provider in China.
00:07:24.000 And you've had the typical cyber attacks and all of that, the DNS attacks, were they?
00:07:32.000 We do.
00:07:33.000 And so if, you know, I'm sure there's some cross-pollination we share, viewers and readers.
00:07:38.000 So sometimes if you see our site having issues, the homepage not loading, it's highly likely that we are in the process of fending off a cyber attack.
00:07:49.000 Because at the end of the day, the Chinese Communist Party looks at the Epoch Times and NTD as public enemy number one, more so than the United States government, more so than the CIA, more so than the FBI.

00:08:08.000 This book right here is called The Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party.
00:08:12.000 And when it was published by the Epoch Times editorial staff in 2004, we had heard that the CCP imposed martial law or was at the precipice because this book from the inside out exposes the CCP.

00:08:33.000 And so for that reason, they view us as the single biggest threat to their power, although we have no interest in power.

00:08:47.000 When I did the film Death by China back in 2011 and was getting ready to release it to the theaters and streaming to Netflix and all of that, my distributor got a call from the Chinese embassy in L.A.
00:09:08.360 warning him that if he distributed my film, his business and career would be over.
00:09:21.560 Now, why do I mention that?
00:09:23.420 Apparently, you mentioned that you use satellites to go into China.
00:09:27.580 We were talking earlier with some others in your organization.
00:09:32.400 Apparently, you run through satellite companies like, I don't know, garbage bags, right?
00:09:39.960 How many satellite companies have you had to – tell me what the Chinese do.
00:09:46.020 It's a fascinating story.
00:09:47.320 Well, Dr. Navarro, to be honest with you, I'm losing track.
00:09:50.480 But NTD, Newtong Dynasty Television, I believe we're on our 14th or 15th satellite provider.
00:09:56.460 Because each time we start to gain a foothold, the CCP goes in and tries to influence them and pressures them similar to this.
00:10:05.360 And the whole CCP lobby from K Street to Hollywood to everywhere else is a whole other topic of discussion that is a huge threat to our country.
00:10:14.340 So if you have a satellite company servicing your company, they will get a call from the Chinese Communist Party?
00:10:23.340 They will, and there's actually a twist to one of the companies.
00:10:25.900 One of the companies actually – this is how devious things have become – knew that if they took us on, they knew that the Chinese Communist Party would come to them and pressure them.
00:10:37.020 So they willingly took us on so that they could be outbid by us and accept essentially the CCP's bribe.
00:10:45.060 The censorship that goes on with the CCP is one thing.
00:10:58.380 Tell me a little bit about how Google has been a bad actor at times with respect to getting information out through your –
00:11:09.060 So the Epoch Times and NTD have, you know, from the outset and from the founding have faced so many challenges of getting the information out.

00:11:24.940 And when it comes to what Google and Facebook and others have done to us in terms of de-platforming, throttling views, I'll give you one example.

00:11:51.960 Well, the anchor of that is Tiffany Meyer, but another on the Epoch side, Joshua Phillip.

00:12:19.100 And then shortly after the last administration left office, maybe even the day after, all of a sudden it went from about a million to about 20,000 views.

00:12:33.360 And what was Google's excuse for doing that?

00:12:43.360 And another thing to look at when you look at Google, there's a lot of landmines and misinformation out there.

00:12:54.740 When you put a name in the bar and then it suggests another word, one of their favorite things to put is when you search Falun Gong, they will suggest cult.

00:13:08.320 And, you know, that raises questions as to whether or not there are engineers, you know, out in Silicon Valley that don't have the United States' best interest at heart and maybe are more aligned with the CCP's way of thinking.
00:13:21.280 I would imagine that Google has its share of CCP folks working there, right, because there's just a lot of workers from communist China that are working here in the U.S.
00:13:34.600 And, I mean, even if you're not a party member, the Chinese Communist Party is going to track you and pressure you.
00:13:42.520 I mean, from a university standpoint, I would see these cadres of students come in from communist China.
00:13:53.800 And at every university they had, like, a proctor.

00:20:02.400 I'm going to bring in Jim Rickards now, talk a little bit about the greatest stimulus to buying gold, I think, right now, the Fed rate cut of 50 basis points.

00:20:22.120 Jim, what's your take on this?
00:20:25.020 And tell us what you do so we use your five minutes well here.

00:20:31.060 You know, Peter, I like to do this kind of analysis by comparing narrative to the reality.
00:20:36.640 So the narrative is basically a made-up story.
00:20:38.660 It could come from Wall Street or Washington.
00:20:40.680 The reality is based on hard data and will actually play out.
00:20:43.920 The reality always wins in the long run, but in the short run, the narrative can win.
00:20:47.480 So here's the narrative.
00:20:49.120 The narrative is the Federal Reserve cut interest rates, 50 basis points, one-half of 1% on Wednesday.
00:20:55.580 This is supposed to provide stimulus.
00:20:58.000 People borrow more, spend more.
00:20:59.480 The stock market went up a little bit, et cetera.
00:21:02.340 So it's all good.
00:21:03.300 It's also a compliment to the Fed in the sense that they've engineered a soft landing.
00:21:08.000 By the way, there's no such thing as a soft landing.
00:21:10.280 You can keep flying.
00:21:11.480 You can crash orbit.
00:21:12.740 We don't have soft landings.
00:21:13.680 But they've engineered a soft landing.
00:21:15.580 Wall Street also calls it the Goldilocks narrative.

00:21:25.220 They've been doing 25 basis points, one-quarter, one percent, up or down for a very long period of time.
00:21:31.420 To go 50 when you pivot, when you go from rate hikes to rate cuts, to do 50 all at once, basically exposes the fact that they're behind the curve.
00:21:41.920 They're in a little bit of a panic mode.
00:21:43.380 Now, Jay Powell, the chairman of the Fed, had a long press conference.
00:21:46.740 And reporters actually did a decent job of asking him.
00:21:49.500 Well, because he said the economy's solid.
00:21:52.180 The labor market is solid.
00:21:53.680 Everything's normalizing.
00:21:54.960 It's all good, in other words.
00:21:56.400 And they're like, well, if it's all good, why are you cutting 50 basis points?
00:21:58.920 And he said, well, we want to keep it that way.
00:22:01.580 Again, that's the narrative.
00:22:02.880 The reality is the economy's slowing very rapidly.
00:22:06.060 There are a lot of technical indicators.
00:22:07.660 But, you know, the price of oil has gone from, in the past year, from $90 a barrel to about $69 a barrel.
00:22:14.240 People say, that's good, you know, lower gas prices at the pump.
00:22:16.940 Well, it's not good if you don't have a job, if unemployment's going up.
00:22:20.640 By the way, it's going down for the wrong reasons.
00:22:22.700 This is demand-driven.
00:22:23.800 People are driving less.
00:22:25.060 They want less.
00:22:26.140 Plenty of supply.
00:22:27.060 That's not even an issue.
00:22:27.840 So that's a sign.

00:22:44.000 Now, in the long run, yeah, we're going to have inflation.
00:22:46.140 That's the only way out of the debt problem.
00:22:47.740 But in the short run, yeah, we're looking at inflation to come down a lot, which is disinflation, maybe even deflation.

00:22:54.940 We're either in one or you can see it on the horizon.
00:22:57.840 And it's going to have kept a lot of people by surprise.
00:23:01.400 And it's bad for the economy, but it's good for the Trump campaign.

00:23:08.140 You can talk about, you know, they're all important issues.
00:23:10.220 Taxes, border, tariffs, all important issues.
00:23:13.560 But the U.S. economy as a whole is, first of all, slowing down, secondly, heading into recession.
00:23:19.440 Again, the oil price decline is a sign of that.

00:23:23.460 The Fed doesn't drive the economy.
00:23:25.940 They follow the economy.
00:23:27.640 Interest rates were already coming down a lot.
00:23:29.360 They're still coming down.
00:23:30.340 It's called a flattening yield curve.
00:23:32.360 It's going to be positively sloped.
00:23:34.680 But why are interest rates coming down?
00:23:36.140 Because the big money and the markets know that the economy is going to have a recession.
00:23:40.560 And rates are coming down.
00:23:42.040 So you want to lock in higher yields right now.
00:23:44.640 And by the way, Peter, you're absolutely right about gold.
00:23:46.800 Gold hit an all-time high intraday on Wednesday afternoon.
00:23:51.340 And when the Fed cut rates, it was up around $26.60, which is an all-time high.
00:23:57.980 It's still, you know, kind of in that range, $26.40 this morning.
00:24:01.600 But it's very bullish for gold and bearish for the economy, unfortunately.

00:37:42.660 Through last night, we'd already knocked on 2,752,000 doors.
00:37:47.240 We're seeing a level of enthusiasm and engagement at the doors and an excitement and an intensity
00:37:53.300 that is higher than what we saw in 2016 or in 2020.
00:37:58.140 But you don't have to take my word for it.
00:38:00.340 Just look at the Pew Research data.
00:38:02.100 They did a poll.
00:38:03.680 Oh, it's probably about 10 days ago now, Peter.
00:38:06.860 They've got Trump winning 82 percent of the evangelical vote today and Kamala Harris at 16.

00:38:58.780 Well, in a battleground state where they're getting bombarded by hundreds of millions of
00:39:03.740 dollars of ads and mailings and text messages and people knocking on their door and calling
00:39:11.480 them, you know, we'll see turnout in the high 70s to as high as the mid 80s, depending upon
00:39:17.520 the state, our our issue, as I said, is those casual, low propensity voters.
00:39:25.400 And can they be reached through the pulpit as well?
