00:00:36.120 immigration enforcement, including ICE, which is more than the annual military spending of the UK
00:00:43.460 and France combined. Wherever ICE raids trigger protests, Trump can send in the troops. Expect
00:00:52.820 Chicago, San Francisco, Denver, and other cities to feature soon. Do not expect Trump to back down.
00:01:01.340 Stephen Miller, his militant henchman and deputy chief of staff, wants 3,000 immigrants a day
00:01:09.420 deported and brands opposition to ICE raids as insurrection. Expelling that many people will
00:01:17.280 require a lot of armed manpower. The economic bill will show up in the form of higher food prices and
00:01:24.220 home construction costs. The toll on the U.S. rule of law and social stability will be incalculably
00:01:33.560 higher. Because here we are, day five. On some level, are these protesters giving Donald Trump
00:01:41.700 exactly what he wants? A big, prolonged public fight? I mean, they're in a no-win situation.
00:01:49.340 If they do nothing, then this kind of activity becomes normalized. There's no demonstration.
00:01:56.580 There's no pause to get the rest of the country to think, hey, is this what we want? Is this what
00:02:02.660 we voted for? Is this what we should be prioritizing right now? Is this what we want our community and
00:02:06.740 our country to turn into? So if they don't do something, then you don't have that at
00:02:11.700 inflection point. A lot of those on this authoritarian timeline are moments where we can
00:02:17.220 get off. We need exit ramps. And that's a point of it. But you're right. It does do the opposite
00:02:22.080 side. This is playing out in the media. This is about theater. And because if you can project power
00:02:29.240 and you have power perceived, you have power achieved. And part of all of this, and you say
00:02:33.760 day five of the protests, and that's right. But I think about this in the context of what day are we
00:02:37.620 in an 180-day agenda? Because everybody measures traditional presidencies in 100 days. But Trump
00:02:43.420 was very clear from the beginning with Project 2025, which he's an avatar for. They had it as a 180-day
00:02:49.360 agenda. And we are right on track, exactly in pace with that larger, sort of more strategic
00:02:55.120 implementation guide for how they would execute it. So I don't think it's a question of whether or not
00:03:00.500 they're giving him fodder. It's a no-win situation. Either they'd be paving the road to allow for this to
00:03:05.420 be normalized and happen faster, or alternatively, they do this and then this theater doesn't play
00:03:10.700 out. I think the real question is, how do us, how does the media, how does the rest of the public
00:03:15.400 respond to this moment? And it's not entirely with protests. It's also with putting pressure
00:03:20.280 on the key decision makers. Pete Hegseth is going to be in Congress this week, multiple days,
00:03:25.280 asking for money from members of Congress for their budget. There needs to be more than one question
00:03:30.560 about this. That's how part of that number came out. I mean, there needs to be real pressure
00:03:35.040 on the few Republicans that actually have some potential and power to start shifting the scales
00:03:41.060 here. Because this is part of a larger plan. He did declare this national emergency on day one.
00:03:46.200 It is tied into this larger agenda. We certainly shouldn't lose sight of that.
00:03:50.020 One question, Stephanie, that I'd like to pose is, what exactly is the problem,
00:03:57.700 the immigration problem that Donald Trump and his administration is seeking to solve? That's what
00:04:03.720 I'd like to understand. What is the problem? Because if you go through the data, and you know this,
00:04:10.140 is that immigrants are not taking jobs that Americans want. They're actually fulfilling jobs,
00:04:16.180 that fulfilling jobs that we need, construction, all kinds of custodial, health care, all those kind
00:04:24.020 of jobs. That's one aspect. The other aspect is they actually put more money in the system
00:04:29.000 than they take out in service. So that's another aspect of it. And every other country in the world
00:04:36.000 knows that their economy is contingent on having more immigrants come into their country. And so
00:04:41.480 all of the political machinations of this, and all the stands that you can take on the Constitution,
00:04:47.240 I'd still like to answer the question is, what is the problem Donald Trump and the White House
00:04:51.460 is trying to solve? Let's be clear, Matthew, we need comprehensive immigration reform in this
00:04:58.160 country. But we have a labor shortage. And I can assure you, people who are being taken off their
00:05:04.480 work crews on construction sites, those construction sites tomorrow are not going to be filled with
00:05:11.400 Americans who are dying to tar roofs in Texas tomorrow. What we're seeing play out in Los Angeles
00:05:18.200 and across the country, from Omaha to Great Barrington, Massachusetts, has been the project of White
00:05:23.440 House aide Stephen Miller since day one of Donald Trump's presidency. Round up every person that appears
00:05:29.640 to be undocumented and deport them as quickly as possible. And none of this should really be that
00:05:35.160 much of a surprise because Donald Trump did promise this during the campaign.
00:05:40.820 He will begin the largest deportation operation in the history of the United States.
00:05:46.040 We will close the border. We will stop the invasion of illegals into our country.
00:05:54.020 Immediately upon taking the oath of office, I will launch the largest deportation program in American
00:06:00.100 history. The United States is now an occupied country, but it will soon be an occupied country

00:06:13.800 While Trump used the cover of criminal immigrants for his broader messaging, right? See the migrant
00:06:20.160 crime in the background there? The reality that has confronted Trump and Miller and the entire
00:06:26.320 administration since they got back into power is this. There simply are not millions of dangerous
00:06:33.280 undocumented criminals just hanging around to be grabbed and deported. And so what that led to is a
00:06:39.280 meeting back in May at Immigrations and Customs Enforcement headquarters reported by the Wall
00:06:44.300 Street Journal, where Stephen Miller said, quote, agents didn't need to develop target lists of
00:06:49.600 immigrants suspected of being in the U.S. illegally. Instead, he directed them to target Home Depot or
00:06:55.500 7-Eleven convenience stores. Miller bet that he and a handful of agents could go out in the streets of
00:07:00.260 Washington, D.C. and arrest 30 people right away. Who here thinks they can do it? Miller said,
00:07:05.120 asking for a show of hands. That really is the key to what we're seeing now.
00:07:10.220 ICE agents started following Miller's guidance and began enforcing a quota-based system of mass
00:07:15.520 roundups using heavily armed, often ununiformed, massed agents showing up everywhere from pizzeria
00:07:23.380 kitchens to elementary schools to Home Depot parking lots. And round them all up is becoming the rallying
00:07:33.400 cry in MAGA world. Here's Steve Bannon earlier today.

00:11:07.740 defense down there, I asked them, what changed your country? He said, we took the focus off
00:11:12.360 protecting the rights of the criminals to protecting the rights of the innocent.
00:11:15.680 And that's what America needs to do. That's what we started to see yesterday with the mass
00:11:20.240 arrest. I was there when 67 of these criminals that blocked the freeway as people were simply
00:11:25.920 trying to get home on the 101 got mass arrested. Over 200 arrests yesterday, all because President
00:11:32.740 Trump put the threat out there, brought the National Guard in, has the Marines staged outside
00:11:37.200 the city. They're ready to come in. That is the difference. You support the rule of law.
00:11:43.220 You support law enforcement. They do their job. And this stops. And these businesses,
00:11:47.960 these small businesses that are shut down right now that can't operate because they're afraid to
00:11:52.220 come in, they reopen. The economy reopens. Everything is made better. And this is the model
00:11:58.900 for every city across America. As this happens, as you said, we're going to head out to these other
00:12:03.440 cities and these other states to show what's happening. We're going to embed with ICE. Then we're
00:12:07.180 going to go out and show in the streets. We're going to show the truth of what's happening with ICE

00:12:15.060 going to show the reality of what's happening. That's why we exist. We are the antidote to the

00:12:38.680 San Francisco, Dallas, all controlled by this hard left that are sanctuary cities and combat
00:12:45.560 the federal authorities from from doing their job. What President Trump's doing is saying, hey,
00:12:49.800 we're not going to have that nonsense anymore. I'm going to federalize National Guard and others
00:12:54.800 if I need to send them in these cities to have the back of the police. You see the police get tougher
00:12:59.560 when the troops start to arrive because the troops are protecting the ICE agents in the federal
00:13:05.740 buildings. Also, people realize they got stink eye on them, right, that they're being watched by the
00:13:10.680 president of the United States. That's why you have this increase in arrest. And this is why L.A. is not
00:13:14.500 burning to the ground right now, Ben Burquam. That's exactly right. You should have seen the look
00:13:20.400 in these police officers eyes yesterday. These are CHP that I was there with and all different branches,
00:13:25.560 all different agencies that had come in that have been brought in both federal, state and local.
00:13:29.400 And the look in their eyes when they actually get to do their job, these guys, they've been
00:13:34.340 neutered for so long. They are desperate to do their job. And when they get to do that,
00:13:38.760 and that's not to attack innocent people, that's to protect innocent people. That's what these guys
00:13:43.740 are here for. They are the warriors, the heroes of our country. They need to be celebrated, not
00:13:47.760 demonized, which is what they're done in most of these cities. And when as President Trump unleashes
00:13:52.400 that across America, you will restore this nation. The battle is enjoined. And guess what? We're

00:18:48.180 We're dead broke. It's going to get worse before it gets better. But you're right. We have rhinos
00:18:52.180 and we have all the Democrats, basically. I don't understand what they're thinking because they can
00:18:57.440 see us just leaking oil. We're putting together this big, beautiful bill, and it's hard to get any
00:19:05.020 cuts done from really either side. But do they just think that the country is going to continue

00:19:34.240 yourself, others are saying, hey, look, we understand the big, beautiful bill. We got to
00:19:37.520 get the supply side tax cut. But there are some things here that we can make a lot better,
00:19:42.100 right? Not kill the bill, but make it better. Is there any consensus coming out of the Senate side
00:19:46.640 on a program to actually do additional cuts?
00:19:49.120 You know, this week, for the first time, I've heard some of the moderates talking about different
00:19:54.480 things that we can do that they're starting to agree with us that we can't continue to do
00:19:59.480 it anymore. A lot of it's education, a lot of it's loans, a lot of it's grants. We've got a
00:20:03.960 fine way to cut money. Now, I will say this, Steve, the bill is three quarters, get the tax cuts and
00:20:10.280 jobs act done. Get it permanent. Save 22% for everybody across the country in terms of tax. That's
00:20:16.260 three-fourths of the other 25% is a matter of, you know, details that we can deal with. But, and I
00:20:23.940 understand this. I understand. We can't, we didn't get to this point overnight, so we can't,
00:20:28.420 in one bill, get everything done the right way, the way we want to. I mean, it'd be chaos. But we
00:20:34.700 have two more shots here. We got two more reconciliations we can do. Get as much as we can
00:20:39.780 done in this one. We got to get it passed.
00:20:41.660 Well, you had argued before to do two bills, even in this time, deal with the border, the
00:20:47.320 $170 billion that you're seeing manifested in LA. This is ICE. This is securing the
00:20:53.220 border, which President Trump's done, building the wall, but doing the deportations. We're
00:20:57.200 doing $3,000 a day, which is a million a year. You got to really up that. That's what
00:21:00.840 that is. Do you think there's any appetite up there for actually bifurcating this now
00:21:05.100 and get the defense part and get the DHS part done now? Or just somebody saying, hey, we're
00:21:13.500 this far down the road, let's just get it done? Yeah. No, I don't think there's any
00:21:17.560 possible way to get it done. I totally agree. You mean break it apart? Yeah. It's got to
00:21:21.700 be one. Yeah. You're not going to be finished. We're way past that point because if we were
00:21:27.220 to start from zero again, I mean, it'd be total chaos. But is there any possibility the
00:21:32.300 Senate is going to pass something by July 4th? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. We'll get
00:21:36.160 something. We met yesterday in the HELP committee. We're sending our text in. We've had the
00:21:41.480 ag meetings. Today we're talking about some other things in the caucus meeting. We'll
00:21:45.820 have a two and a half hour meeting this afternoon. A lot of the guys from both sides are going
00:21:51.660 to the White House and talking to President Trump about what we can and can't do. He's
00:21:56.080 listening. He understands. He understands that we just can't take a hatchet to this thing
00:22:00.440 all at once. It's got to be a, it's got to be, we've got to have help from, from the,
00:22:05.540 the moderates. I mean, you, you know, we, we're moderates, moderates in the Republican
00:22:09.420 party. Yeah. Moderates and Republicans. Yeah. Oh, there's, there's no, even to mention
00:22:13.020 a moderate in the Republican party makes my head blow up. Yeah. There's no moderates
00:22:16.300 in the Democrats. They're all, they're all, they're all followers. If they're not, if
00:22:20.160 they're not progressive far leftists, they're just followers and they want to be. Word has
00:22:25.120 it that even the tech, no tax on tips, no tax on social security, no tax on overtime is,
00:22:32.020 is actually hitting some, some headwinds up in the Senate and that that may be changed on
00:22:37.860 what you're going to vote on in the fourth. Yeah. Uh, there's some people that are adamant
00:22:43.100 that, uh, there's no reason to do it, but you know, we're no reason to do no reason to
00:22:47.940 do it, but, but, but, but most people in there understand that president Trump ran on this
00:22:54.480 and that they've got their power because of that, because we took the majority in the
00:22:59.240 Senate. And so there's more than not there. They're not, they're not many. They're, they're
00:23:02.860 just, but this one's what's their logic is no need for this. Don't they understand
00:23:05.860 the working class and middle class need all the help they can get? Yeah. Well, uh, that's
00:23:10.060 not the point. They want to keep as much money here in Washington, DC. You know that, you
00:23:13.680 know, there's a lot of hogs at the trough up here and then, you know, you start taking
00:23:17.500 away that feed, the hogs are going to fight over it and they don't want that to be that
00:23:21.140 big a fight over, over what they can do and, and, uh, and continue to spend. But again,
00:23:26.800 it all goes back to term limits and all that. Steve, you know, we, you know, they get
00:23:32.160 reelected, just reelected. You are, are they united and back a president? Cause this is
00:23:36.900 going to get a lot tougher. You call it the summer hate. This is, it's spread to Chicago,
00:23:40.180 New York, Dallas. This is going to be tough. President Trump's dug in on this thing. Is
00:23:44.320 the Senate going to have his back? I would say about 90% will have his back. Yeah. Which
00:23:49.360 is good, which is good. 90% and, and, but there's zero Democrats. I mean, again, I don't,
00:23:54.460 I don't, I don't understand what they're even considering here. I mean, this is anarchy.
