Summary

In the wake of the Charlie Kirk shooting, President Trump has declared Antifa a major terrorist organization, but there is no concrete evidence linking the group to the attack. What does this mean for the future of the fight against Antifa? And what will the government do about it?

Transcript

00:00:00.000 is planning to take action against left-wing groups that the president and his allies claim
00:00:06.640 have contributed to political unrest and violence. The moves are expected to include investigations
00:00:14.480 into tax-exempt status of certain liberal groups like the Open Society Foundations
00:00:21.520 and the Ford Foundation. A source tells NBC News that these actions, which come in the wake of the
00:00:28.920 assassination of Charlie Kirk, could begin as early as the end of the month. Federal law, however,
00:00:36.720 prohibits the president and vice president from ordering such tax inquiries, and there has been
00:00:43.880 no evidence linking those groups to Kirk's killing. Officials say they believe the suspect acted alone.
00:00:51.640 The Wall Street Journal reports that officials across the administration are working to
00:00:56.500 identify groups suspected of targeting conservatives or causes that conservatives support. That could
00:01:05.600 include looking at attacks on Tesla showrooms earlier this year, as well as people who have
00:01:11.940 retaliated against law enforcement carrying out Trump's deportation campaign. Meanwhile,
00:01:18.480 the president announced last night that he will label Antifa as a major terrorist organization. Although
00:01:27.580 current law only allows this designation for foreign groups. We begin. Well, one of the specific problems
00:01:35.440 here is that Antifa isn't really a group, right? I mean, it's it's the nature of anarchic or foreign group.
00:01:42.340 It's a bunch of people who organize around a set of ideas that they learn from each other and learn
00:01:48.540 from the Internet. The whole issue today is that obviously you don't need an organizational structure
00:01:54.140 to do anything. People become radicalized by reading the Web and then they become right. We've seen that
00:02:01.080 for years on the Islamist front. I'm not comparing ISIS and Al Qaeda to whatever might be happening on the
00:02:07.160 left. On the larger question of Open Society Foundation, Ford Foundation, I mean, this is just
00:02:13.000 silly. These are organizations that that argue liberal arguments in a legal law abiding way. And
00:02:21.920 they're part of the marketplace of ideas. And the idea that you would try to link whether you agree with
00:02:27.380 it or not, whether you would link the Ford Foundation's position on X, Y or Z on trans rights,
00:02:32.660 for instance, to violence. It's absurd and it's dangerous. And, you know, the issue that conservative
00:02:41.720 groups and the Trump administration need to consider is that, you know, you if you want to introduce this
00:02:47.280 way of dealing with your enemies, adversaries in American politics, you're going to reap the whirlwind
00:02:52.800 sooner or later. Right. I mean, because no, no political ideology stays on top forever in the
00:02:58.520 American tradition. And so I find it extraordinary. I find it to be an extraordinary power move that is
00:03:05.960 not well thought out and obviously not grounded in American law or even more important American
00:03:11.580 tradition. This was being treated as a single murder. It's not a single murder. This is not a
00:03:17.960 single murder of a great man. There's a vast conspiracy in back of this. Antifa needs to be designated as a
00:03:27.560 domestic terrorist organization. Hey, if you want to make it international terrorist,
00:03:31.440 there's plenty of evidence of that. In fact, he came out of Europe.
00:03:33.680 What do you think about this reporting that the president and the administration plan to go after
00:03:38.540 in some way left leaning groups before the end of the month without proving that they've actually
00:03:43.420 done anything wrong? It's it's it's more authoritarian nonsense from this administration,
00:03:48.520 which we've seen. And one thing in particular that bothers me about it is he's like, we're going to go
00:03:52.740 after Antifa. That's like saying you're going after Black Lives Matter. Like it's a general term,
00:03:57.720 right? Antifa is is not necessarily a set group. It is being an anti-fascist. So you can apply that
00:04:04.140 to almost anybody. So if you're just saying we're going to go after anybody who doesn't like fascism,
00:04:08.120 well, are you going after a group? Are you going after a group of middle aged women in the suburbs who
00:04:13.100 are like, hey, we don't like the fact that you're doing a midterm redistricting? There's lots of things
00:04:18.200 that can fall under that umbrella. But it just goes to show that this administration is about
00:04:22.300 revenge. Because if you can't define the bad guy, you can go after anybody. ABC is pulling Jimmy
00:04:27.200 Kimmel live off the air indefinitely following Kimmel's comments about Charlie Kirk. Kimmel raised
00:04:32.660 the possibility that the suspect in the killing might have been a pro-Trump Republican, according to
00:04:38.340 authorities. That wasn't true. That comment immediately drew the attention of FCC Commissioner
00:04:43.640 Brendan Carr, who threatened to, quote, take action, action, action against Disney's ABC. We should
00:04:50.380 note the FCC licenses stations owned by or are affiliated with ABC. It does not license the
00:04:57.580 network itself. Earlier tonight, the president celebrated the decision, saying in part, quote,
00:05:02.440 great news for America. The ratings challenge Jimmy Kimmel show is canceled. Congratulations to ABC for
00:05:08.340 finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Becoming increasingly clear, isn't it, Mike,
00:05:13.960 that people around President Trump, who are now in the White House, spent the four years that President
00:05:20.300 Trump was out of power thinking, how can we dismantle liberal with a small L institutions that
00:05:26.820 conservatives have had gripes about, sometimes fairly, sometimes not fairly, for a very long time.
00:05:32.240 And we're seeing them do that systematically. And any time there is an opportunity,
00:05:36.080 and they feel that public opinion will let them push that much further, it seems they're going
00:05:40.160 to go as far as they can. What do you see potentially down the line as next, if there is a next?
00:05:46.720 I mean, I think that you're going to, I mean, my, I think that each, you know, every time you see
00:05:51.960 one of these settlements, in whatever form it takes, the administration is saying, wow,
00:05:56.420 this is really working. Let's look for more targets.
00:05:58.700 You designate them a terrorist organization, then all kind of good things happen.
00:06:05.660 You start subpoenaing telephone records, text messages, you go, you go to the telephone companies
00:06:10.460 like they went on us, and took all our stuff. Fine, do it. What's good for the goose is good
00:06:16.420 for the gander. See the interconnection. See who's financing them. See who's contacting them.
00:06:21.880 See what politicians are working with them. See what media types are working with them. And then
00:06:28.580 we ought to round up the media types are working with them as accessories.
00:06:35.260 This is doable. And if you want to avoid a civil war, it needs to be done today. Use the powers of
00:06:43.360 the state. We happen to be in charge. This is the primal scream of a dying regime. Pray for our
00:06:54.080 enemies. Because we're going to medieval on these people. Here's one time I got a free shot at all
00:06:59.880 these networks lying about the people. The people have had a belly full of it. I know you don't like
00:07:05.360 hearing that. I know you try to do everything in the world to stop that, but you're not going to
00:07:08.320 stop it. It's going to happen. And where do people like that go to share the big line?
00:07:13.360 MAGA Media. I wish in my soul, I wish that any of these people had a conscience.
00:07:20.240 Ask yourself, what is my task and what is my purpose? If that answer is to save my country,
00:07:27.200 this country will be saved.
00:07:30.380 War Room. Here's your host, Stephen K. Mann.
00:07:38.420 It's Thursday, 18 September in the year of our Lord, 2025. We are momentarily going to go to
00:07:43.340 Checkers, which is the country home of the prime minister of the United Kingdom for a press
00:07:49.580 conference with the prime minister Starmer and President Trump. They announced earlier today,
00:07:55.300 you saw Real America's Voice live. I don't know. I think it's a $400 billion deal on nuclear power
00:08:00.460 plants that England's going to, you know, they finally realize nobody's got power. Since they
00:08:05.380 all bought into the climate hoax, now they're all sitting squealing. And the only reason it's a big
00:08:11.100 deal. Wait for it. Artificial intelligence. Yep. Since the tech bros need power, power you shall
00:08:16.940 have. And it ain't windmills. It's not solar farms. You're going to get good old nuclear power.
00:08:23.080 Remember how, remember how that was verboten after what the, uh, the China syndrome,
00:08:27.480 the Jack Lemmon and Jane Fonda movie. Couldn't touch it. Couldn't touch it. Well, now you can touch it.
00:08:33.500 Huge deal offered. Not a lot of specifics on this issue of free speech in the United Kingdom and what
00:08:40.600 restrictions we're going to put on, all that kind of deal. I'm sure that's going to get asked at the
00:08:44.020 presser. Overnight though, a huge news, Jimmy Kimmel, the affiliates, Sinclair Broadcasting,
00:08:50.340 a conservative, uh, news, uh, conservative media company run by Dave Smith. I think he's still
00:08:56.040 chairman, CEO, but he and his parents founded it or his parents founded it. He's one of the biggest
00:09:01.040 affiliate. I think the biggest affiliate network in ABC, he said, Hey, guess what? We're not putting
00:09:05.600 on Jimmy Kimmel anymore. So Disney, you want to put it up, have it play in New York and LA, go for
00:09:10.760 it. Jimmy Kimmel's gone. Uh, even bigger news. Now, uh, the assassination of Charlie Kirk's not just
00:09:18.680 being treated as a murder case by some cops out in Utah. It is going to be designated. Uh, we're going
00:09:24.440 to have a Antifa and all of its subsets designated as a, uh, as a major terrorist network by the
00:09:32.660 president of the United States. I think that executive order will be coming here forthwith.
00:09:36.660 I know teams already be informed. This is going to be the end of days for these, this crowd. You
00:09:41.540 see how they're squealing right there. Well, Antifa's not really, it's totally disorganized.
00:09:44.500 Yeah. Okay. That's the top level of the Grundunes. You got the middle level of kind of the military
00:09:50.260 and other intelligence apparatuses that train them. And then you got the base and the bottom
00:09:55.620 and the most important, the operations, the media connections, the corporate connections,
00:09:59.440 the foundation connections, the university connections, and wait for it, the money and
00:10:03.940 what foreign operators, what foreign countries are in back of this, the color revolution. This
00:10:09.100 is going after the color revolution in the United States of America. It's going to be full bore.
00:10:14.080 This will break them. And of course, Karl Rove, uh, he of the, uh, war crimes in Iraq,
00:10:19.800 uh, we got it. Okay. We're going to go, let's go to checkers right now. Press conference,
00:10:23.980 president of the United States, prime minister of England will return immediately afterwards.
00:10:27.680 Welcome you to checkers. This historic second state visit is a moment to celebrate the unique
00:10:35.440 bond between our two countries. But today we've gone far beyond that. We've renewed the special
00:10:43.840 relationship for a new era. The United Kingdom and the United States stand together today as first
00:10:52.560 partners on defense, first partners in trade with the groundbreaking deal we struck in May,
00:11:01.100 and now with a new agreement that we've just signed this afternoon. We're confirming our status
00:11:07.420 as the first partners in science and technology, ready to define this century together, just as we did the
00:11:16.260 last. This tech partnership has the power to change lives. It's our chance to ensure that technologies
00:11:25.540 like AI, quantum and others amplify human potential, solve problems, cure diseases, make us richer and
00:11:35.740 freer, strengthen the cause of democracy, not tyranny. This is the territory on which the future will be won.
00:11:45.700 So this partnership today is a signal of our determination to win this race together and to ensure it brings
00:11:53.860 real benefits real benefits in jobs, in growth, in lower bills, to put more hard-earned cash in people's pockets
00:12:02.420 at the end of each month. That's what we're determined to deliver. And we're bringing businesses with us.
00:12:10.680 We've just come from a fantastic meeting with business leaders where we set out this vision.
00:12:16.080 They have responded with new deals and investment, breaking every record that we have.
00:12:24.640 £250 billion flowing both ways across the Atlantic. That is a record.
00:12:32.260 Expected to create 15,000 jobs here in the United Kingdom.
00:12:36.760 High-skilled jobs in cutting-edge sectors where people can build careers for the long term.
00:12:43.440 Changing lives in communities up and down our country.
00:12:49.280 And look, while we shape this bond for a new era, the fundamentals have not changed.
00:12:58.020 Security remains the cornerstone of this special relationship.
00:13:03.800 We have the deepest, most advanced defence relationship in the world.
00:13:08.920 Our warriors train together and they fight together.
00:13:13.880 Our industries build together.
00:13:16.460 Everything from fast jets to the new AUKUS-class submarines.
00:13:21.740 So now, as we drive up defence spending, we're going to sweep away the barriers
00:13:26.980 to working together on new defence technologies
00:13:30.260 so we can stay ahead of our adversaries.
00:13:34.020 We're united in defence and security.
00:13:37.600 Yes, absolutely.
00:13:40.440 But we're also united in the pursuit of peace.
00:13:45.540 We are working together to end the humanitarian catastrophe in the Middle East.
00:13:51.180 get the aid in, free the hostages and ultimately bring Israel and the region
00:13:58.920 back towards a comprehensive plan
00:14:02.160 which can deliver peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians alike.
00:14:08.800 We're also working together to end the killing in Ukraine.
00:14:11.980 In recent days, Putin has shown his true face
00:14:16.140 mounting the biggest attacks since the evasion began
00:14:19.680 with yet more bloodshed, yet more innocents killed
00:14:23.860 and unprecedented violations of NATO airspace.
00:14:29.380 These are not the actions of someone who wants peace.
00:14:33.340 So we've discussed today how we can build our defences further,
00:14:38.100 support Ukraine and decisively increase the pressure on Putin
00:14:42.420 to get him to agree a peace deal that will last.
00:14:47.140 And President Trump, you have led the way here
00:14:49.320 and we will continue to stand and work together
00:14:52.580 for security and for peace.
00:14:56.880 Mr President, next year we'll celebrate
00:14:58.940 the 250th anniversary of the United States.
00:15:04.040 We've come on a long journey together since 1776.
00:15:09.680 But it's no exaggeration to say
00:15:12.400 that the partnership our two nations have built
00:15:15.720 has shaped the world from the beaches of Normandy
00:15:19.820 to the founding of NATO,
00:15:22.660 to the creation of technologies
00:15:24.120 that have revolutionised our lives.
00:15:27.980 Time and time again,
00:15:29.880 it is British and American men and women side by side,
00:15:36.220 changing the path of history
00:15:37.860 and turning it towards our values,
00:15:42.060 towards freedom, democracy and the rule of law.
00:15:46.220 In Britain, we take huge pride in that.
00:15:49.080 And let's be clear,
00:15:51.920 this relationship is not just about history,
00:15:55.420 it's about the future.
00:15:57.820 It's about the benefits it delivers now
00:15:59.960 and for decades to come
00:16:01.780 to make our people safer and better off.
00:16:06.040 We've shown today that we're delivering those benefits,
00:16:08.420 improving people's lives.
00:16:11.040 So we will go into that anniversary year
00:16:13.960 more optimistic than ever
00:16:16.000 and more confident than ever
00:16:18.080 about our two great nations
00:16:20.500 and what they can achieve side by side.
00:16:23.640 Thank you.
00:16:25.820 And it is now my pleasure
00:16:26.820 to give the floor to Mr. President.
00:16:29.980 Thank you.
00:16:30.620 Thank you.
00:16:31.100 This July, there is a global summit

00:16:49.600 As BRICS nations push forward with their plans,

00:19:35.020 Now he's issuing a dire warning about April 11th,

00:20:20.480 Thank you very much, very much.
00:20:22.380 Prime Minister Starmer, Melania and I
00:20:25.240 are tremendously thankful for the wonderful hospitality
00:20:28.480 that you and Lady Starmer have extended today at Checkers.
00:20:33.940 Quite the place, I must say, quite the place.
00:20:36.260 And we're grateful beyond words for the spectacular honor
00:20:40.400 of the state visit yesterday at Windsor Castle,
00:20:43.360 hosted by His Majesty King Charles III
00:20:46.200 and Her Majesty Queen Camilla.
00:20:49.600 These are two fantastic people.
00:20:51.900 We will never forget it.
00:20:54.360 As I said last night,
00:20:55.580 the bond between our countries is like no other anywhere in the world.
00:21:00.460 The United States and the United Kingdom
00:21:02.620 have done more good on this planet
00:21:04.460 than any two nations in human history.
00:21:08.380 That is thanks in large part to the traditions of British liberty,
00:21:12.980 which grew up on these isles,
00:21:15.380 these beautiful, magnificent isles,
00:21:17.480 and were carried by our ancestors to the new world.
00:21:22.480 We're forever joined,
00:21:23.940 and we are forever friends and we will always be friends.
00:21:28.580 This enduring connection is why I was thrilled
00:21:30.940 that the United Kingdom was the very first country
00:21:33.980 with which we made a historic trade deal
00:21:37.080 and a very good trade deal.
00:21:39.000 He's a tough negotiator.
00:21:40.220 I think it was a better deal for you than us,
00:21:41.920 but these are minor details.
00:21:44.400 It's a very good deal for both of us.
00:21:45.600 He's a great negotiator.
00:21:47.380 We'll extend our unparalleled security alliance
00:21:50.880 into the realm of economic security for the first time,
00:21:54.380 and I look forward to finalizing it very soon.
00:21:56.920 We'll have it done very quickly.
00:21:59.000 We have also just signed
00:22:01.320 a historic technology prosperity deal,
00:22:04.920 one of a kind,
00:22:05.820 to ensure our countries lead
00:22:07.600 the next great technological revolution side by side.
00:22:12.140 In fact, we just left the business leaders,
00:22:14.120 the biggest in the world.
00:22:14.960 Some are in this room right now.
00:22:17.020 And that was quite a meeting we had
00:22:20.220 on business and trade and technology.
00:22:24.240 This trip has galvanized $350 billion
00:22:27.260 in deals across many sectors,
00:22:29.600 and we're committed to ensuring
00:22:32.160 that the UK is a secure and reliable supply
00:22:34.800 of the best AI hardware and software on Earth.
00:22:38.580 And we supply that,
00:22:40.120 and we'll make sure we supply it in quantity to the UK.
00:22:44.140 And we also are joining forces on quantum computing
00:22:48.400 and nuclear power,
00:22:50.040 a natural partnership for close allies.
00:22:52.880 The United States, as you probably have heard,
00:22:56.040 is doing better than it has ever done
00:22:58.040 in terms of business and investment.
00:23:01.080 The stock market has hit a new high,
00:23:05.780 as you know,
00:23:06.400 and that's for many, many days
00:23:08.840 out of our fairly short eight months.
00:23:12.500 And we seem to be hitting new highs,
00:23:14.940 and I think we're going to do much better,
00:23:16.900 even as time goes by.
00:23:18.460 Jobs are at a record.
00:23:20.280 And most importantly,
00:23:21.880 we have more than $17 trillion.
00:23:26.000 $17 trillion.
00:23:27.940 And this is during an eight-month period
00:23:30.260 being invested in the country,
00:23:32.500 which is not only a record,
00:23:34.660 but if you compare $17 trillion
00:23:36.720 to the last year of the Biden administration,
00:23:40.220 they did $250 billion.
00:23:42.260 They didn't do $1 trillion
00:23:45.500 for the four-year period.
00:23:49.020 We did $17 trillion
00:23:50.980 of investment coming in.
00:23:53.160 A lot of it's because of tariffs,
00:23:54.940 and a lot of it's for a lot of other reasons,
00:23:57.340 but there's never been anything like it.
00:23:59.920 It's an economic superstar.
00:24:03.600 It's what's become.
00:24:05.080 It was mismanaged
00:24:06.700 and badly handled
00:24:07.900 for a long period of time,
00:24:09.260 but it's not badly handled anymore.
00:24:11.700 So that's a record.
00:24:13.080 And remember,
00:24:14.700 that's up until eight months.
00:24:17.300 We have another few months to go,
00:24:19.600 and that number's going to get significantly higher,
00:24:21.920 especially if we win a certain case
00:24:24.700 that we're waiting to hear.
00:24:26.620 That will be something
00:24:28.580 like the world has never seen.
00:24:30.080 I want to congratulate the United Kingdom
00:24:31.960 on making the vital commitment
00:24:34.220 to spend 5% of GDP on defense
00:24:36.800 at the NATO summit this year.
00:24:39.360 We've worked together very closely
00:24:40.820 in so many ways.
00:24:42.400 I'm very honored to tell you
00:24:44.960 that we've solved seven wars,
00:24:47.560 seven wars,
00:24:49.260 wars that were unsolvable,
00:24:51.440 wars that couldn't be negotiated or done.
00:24:54.860 The U.S. has done seven of them.
00:24:58.880 The one that I thought would be easiest
00:25:00.420 would be because of my relationship
00:25:01.960 with President Putin,
00:25:03.600 but he's let me down.
00:25:05.720 He's really let me down.
00:25:07.420 It was going to be Russia and Ukraine,
00:25:09.380 but we'll see how that turns out.
00:25:12.000 But that turned out to be,
00:25:14.100 I thought it might be
00:25:14.960 among the easiest of the group,
00:25:16.900 but we settled just about every conflict.
00:25:19.600 And as you know,
00:25:20.140 we're working very hard on Israel and Gaza.
00:25:22.600 Oh, that's happening over there.
00:25:25.340 Complex, but it's going to be,
00:25:27.640 it's going to get done.
00:25:28.740 It'll all get done right.
00:25:30.660 And likewise, Russia and Ukraine will get done.
00:25:34.880 But it's, you never know in war,
00:25:36.620 you know, war is a different thing.
00:25:38.440 Things happen that are very opposite
00:25:40.280 of what you thought.
00:25:41.920 You thought you were going to have an easy time
00:25:43.720 or a hard time,
00:25:44.440 and it turns out to be the reverse.
00:25:46.880 As we saw in the unforgettable parade yesterday
00:25:50.360 at Windsor Castle,
00:25:51.360 what a place it is.
00:25:52.320 The British Armed Forces carry on.
00:25:54.500 One of the finest military traditions in the world,
00:25:57.220 one of the greatest marching bands,
00:25:59.040 one of the most magnificent sights I've seen.
00:26:01.780 I know that our service members look forward,
00:26:04.400 and we do look so forward,
00:26:06.600 to working even more closely with yours
00:26:08.980 as you push toward that 5% goal.
00:26:12.120 And I think, Mr. Prime Minister,
00:26:13.420 you're just about there.
00:26:14.380 You're going to be there very quickly,
00:26:15.960 along with a lot of other great countries.
00:26:18.420 I want to thank NATO
00:26:20.420 and our wonderful head of NATO
00:26:22.360 who's really worked very hard, Mark,
00:26:24.720 for the job they've done.
00:26:26.540 As you know,
00:26:27.320 NATO is a 2% GDP,
00:26:30.040 and they didn't pay it.
00:26:31.740 Now they're at 5%,
00:26:33.060 then they pay it.
00:26:34.580 And we appreciate that.
00:26:36.180 And we're sending a lot of weapons to NATO.
00:26:39.780 NATO is paying for those weapons in full.
00:26:42.500 But we're sending them,
00:26:43.860 and we're doing a great job
00:26:45.220 at getting them what they need.
00:26:47.080 And we appreciate the fact
00:26:49.300 that they're taking care of it,
00:26:50.680 because the United States is into that war
00:26:52.380 for $350 billion.
00:26:56.000 And just really very sad.
00:26:59.700 It just got out of control.
00:27:01.160 They didn't know what they were doing.
00:27:03.180 But over the generations,
00:27:05.440 British and American warriors
00:27:06.780 have shed their blood side by side
00:27:08.840 in defense of liberty and freedom.
00:27:11.060 And that's why it's so imperative
00:27:12.440 that the United States
00:27:13.500 and the United Kingdom
00:27:14.580 stand together
00:27:15.740 for these fundamental rights and values
00:27:17.680 of the English-speaking world.
00:27:19.220 And we've always stood together,
00:27:20.500 and we will continue to.
00:27:22.380 Just last week,
00:27:23.220 a great American, Charlie Kirk,
00:27:24.980 was heinously assassinated
00:27:26.480 for speaking his mind.
00:27:28.700 He was a great young man.
00:27:31.480 Incredible future.
00:27:32.360 Some people said
00:27:33.180 he might be president someday.
00:27:34.540 I told him.
00:27:35.180 I said, Charlie,
00:27:35.880 I think you have a good shot
00:27:37.540 someday at being president.
00:27:39.900 And he just wanted
00:27:41.340 to take care of youth.
00:27:42.460 He loved youth.
00:27:43.260 I've never seen anybody
00:27:44.460 relate to youth like Charlie.
00:27:46.620 And they related to him.
00:27:48.520 And they're devastated.
00:27:50.300 But I appreciate
00:27:51.340 the many British citizens
00:27:52.540 who have offered
00:27:53.260 their condolences.
00:27:54.720 And again, Charlie
00:27:56.240 was a great person.
00:27:57.340 We'll be going out
00:27:58.140 to a service on Sunday.
00:28:00.640 I'll be leaving
00:28:01.240 with some of the people
00:28:02.000 in this room
00:28:02.600 just to celebrate Charlie
00:28:05.600 and all that he's done.
00:28:07.360 So incredible.
00:28:08.420 Never seen anything like it.
00:28:10.260 But I hope that together
00:28:11.560 our nations can lead
00:28:12.640 a movement to defend
00:28:13.680 the glorious traditions
00:28:14.800 of freedom
00:28:15.420 on both sides
00:28:16.640 of the Atlantic.
00:28:18.340 There could be
00:28:19.140 no greater tribute
00:28:20.000 to the immortal bonds
00:28:21.380 of affection and loyalty
00:28:22.640 that unite the British
00:28:23.880 and the American people
00:28:25.180 for all of time.
00:28:27.680 We have a relationship
00:28:28.760 like no other.
00:28:30.560 It will always be that way.
00:28:32.000 We will always be united.
00:28:33.360 We'll always be together.
00:28:35.380 And I just want to thank you,
00:28:36.860 Mr. Prime Minister,
00:28:37.820 for the great job
00:28:38.760 I think you're doing.
00:28:39.520 Thank you very much.
00:28:40.780 Thank you.
00:28:41.140 Thank you very much,
00:28:48.380 Mr. President.
00:28:49.500 We're going to take
00:28:50.080 some questions.
00:28:50.780 I'll call two or three
00:28:52.180 to start with
00:28:52.820 and then I'll pass over
00:28:53.800 to the President.
00:28:55.620 I've got Chris Mason
00:28:56.940 from the BBC first.
00:28:58.800 Chris.
00:28:59.740 Thank you both.
00:29:00.660 Chris Mason, BBC News.
00:29:02.240 Mr. President,
00:29:02.960 the UK is expected
00:29:04.080 to recognise
00:29:04.760 a Palestinian state
00:29:05.900 in the coming days
00:29:07.000 as the killing
00:29:07.540 in Gaza continues.
00:29:09.140 It often seems
00:29:09.940 that you're the only person
00:29:11.100 that Israel will listen to.
00:29:13.220 What more can you say
00:29:14.160 to them
00:29:14.600 to tell them to stop?
00:29:16.340 And why is the UK's position
00:29:17.800 on a Palestinian state
00:29:19.460 in your view wrong?
00:29:20.820 And, Prime Minister,
00:29:22.000 what will the recognition
00:29:23.280 of a Palestinian state
00:29:24.660 actually achieve?
00:29:26.040 Is it not just
00:29:26.980 gesture politics
00:29:28.400 to appease people
00:29:29.240 in your own party?
00:29:30.960 Thank you both.
00:29:32.280 Well, Chris,
00:29:33.560 let me just start with that
00:29:34.980 because we discussed this
00:29:37.500 amongst other things.
00:29:38.160 we had the best part
00:29:39.600 of an hour,
00:29:40.040 I think, upstairs earlier today,
00:29:42.700 just one-to-one,
00:29:44.040 going through a number
00:29:45.400 of affairs,
00:29:46.180 world affairs,
00:29:47.320 in private.
00:29:49.140 And we absolutely agree
00:29:51.100 on the need for peace
00:29:52.900 and a road map
00:29:54.200 because the situation
00:29:55.340 in Gaza is intolerable.
00:29:58.040 The hostages have been held
00:29:59.460 for a very, very long time
00:30:01.260 and they must be freed
00:30:03.000 and we need aid
00:30:05.260 to get into Gaza
00:30:06.980 at speed.
00:30:08.080 And so it's within
00:30:08.700 that context
00:30:09.780 of a plan for peace
00:30:12.800 which we're working hard on,
00:30:14.880 which not only did we discuss
00:30:16.580 this morning,
00:30:17.820 but our two teams
00:30:18.820 have been working together on,
00:30:20.400 the question of recognition
00:30:21.520 needs to be seen.
00:30:22.860 And so it's part of that
00:30:25.000 overall package
00:30:26.120 which hopefully takes us
00:30:29.080 from the appalling situation
00:30:30.600 we're in now
00:30:31.260 to the outcome
00:30:34.060 of a safe and secure Israel,
00:30:35.580 which we do not have,
00:30:37.020 and a viable Palestinian state.
00:30:38.820 Thank you.
00:30:40.160 Well, simply,
00:30:41.200 I want the hostages released now,
00:30:43.500 right now,
00:30:44.180 not one, two,
00:30:46.060 we'll give you three more tomorrow
00:30:47.320 and, you know, like it's been,
00:30:49.420 but we're the ones
00:30:50.040 that got all the hostages released.
00:30:51.720 We got many, many,
00:30:52.820 they came,
00:30:53.240 many of them came to the Oval Office
00:30:55.720 and I've heard stories
00:30:57.500 like I've never thought even possible.
00:31:00.060 There was no humanity,
00:31:01.260 no anything.
00:31:01.880 I said to them,
00:31:02.640 I said,
00:31:03.540 was there any warmth shown
00:31:06.000 during this stay
00:31:07.200 like they offered you
00:31:08.760 a little extra meal?
00:31:09.860 They gave you a little smile
00:31:11.840 and they said,
00:31:12.360 don't worry,
00:31:12.820 you'll be okay.
00:31:13.700 And every one of them said,
00:31:15.480 not even a little bit.
00:31:16.640 Amazing, you know,
00:31:17.560 to think that
00:31:18.300 during this stay,
00:31:19.840 long stay,
00:31:20.480 in some cases,
00:31:21.160 we had a man the other day,
00:31:22.300 451 days he was there.
00:31:24.640 I always ask that question
00:31:25.900 and was there any warmth shown,
00:31:28.580 just a little word of,
00:31:29.800 you know, encouragement.
00:31:31.780 And the answer is every time,
00:31:33.900 absolutely not.
00:31:34.760 I'm shocked to hear it
00:31:35.920 because in the worst cases,
00:31:37.200 there's always somebody
00:31:37.920 that comes through.
00:31:39.980 We have to remember
00:31:41.080 October 7th,
00:31:42.160 one of the worst,
00:31:44.220 most violent days
00:31:45.680 in the history of the world,
00:31:47.180 not just there,
00:31:48.240 the history of the world.
00:31:49.060 And I got to see the tapes
00:31:50.220 and I wish I didn't see them,
00:31:51.560 actually,
00:31:52.760 but I got to see them.
00:31:54.540 And I want an end.
00:31:56.480 I want the hostages released.
00:31:58.800 And I think it's going to be okay,
00:32:01.240 but it has been
00:32:02.240 a brutal period of time.
00:32:03.780 But this has been going on
00:32:05.000 for a long time.
00:32:05.840 This is not something
00:32:07.420 that's over the last year,
00:32:09.480 two years,
00:32:10.080 but this has been for decades
00:32:11.820 and decades.
00:32:12.920 But we want it to end.
00:32:14.220 We have to have the hostages
00:32:15.240 back immediately.
00:32:16.240 That's what the people
00:32:16.940 of Israel want.
00:32:17.640 They want them back.
00:32:18.860 And we want the fighting to stop.
00:32:20.780 And it's going to stop.
00:32:22.820 But a lot of bad things.
00:32:24.560 You know,
00:32:24.700 Hamas said that they're going
00:32:26.100 to put the hostages up as bait.
00:32:28.140 They're going to put the hostages
00:32:29.440 in front of any attack.
00:32:31.840 And that's pretty brutal.
00:32:33.280 We haven't heard that one
00:32:34.080 in a long time.
00:32:35.160 So we have to remember that.
00:32:36.680 So I have a disagreement
00:32:38.380 with the prime minister
00:32:39.600 on that score.
00:32:41.060 Okay?
00:32:41.980 One of our few disagreements,
00:32:43.360 actually.
00:32:44.980 Great.
00:32:45.640 Can I take Jack from The Sun?
00:32:47.960 Jack.
00:32:48.900 Thank you both.
00:32:49.700 Jack Elson from The Sun.
00:32:50.940 Mr. President,
00:32:51.540 in the nine months
00:32:52.120 you've been in office,
00:32:53.040 you've been incredibly successful
00:32:54.560 in all but eliminating crossings
00:32:56.040 on your southern border.
00:32:57.700 Meanwhile, illegal migration
00:32:58.860 is at record levels in Britain.
00:33:00.380 The prime minister
00:33:00.860 is trying to tackle that.
00:33:02.300 What advice would you give
00:33:03.240 to the man standing next to you
00:33:04.420 on trying to stop illegal migration
00:33:06.120 in Britain?
00:33:07.160 And, prime minister,
00:33:07.920 if I can just ask,
00:33:08.760 the president is all about
00:33:09.840 drill baby drill
00:33:10.860 in terms of trying to secure
00:33:13.080 American energy
00:33:13.960 and cut bills for Americans.
00:33:15.820 Meanwhile,
00:33:16.700 you are turning Britain's back
00:33:17.900 on oil and gas
00:33:18.740 in favor of renewable energies
00:33:20.080 such as wind turbines.
00:33:21.480 Why do you think that you are right
00:33:22.760 and he is wrong?
00:33:24.880 So we had millions of people
00:33:26.960 flowing in,
00:33:27.680 totally unchecked,
00:33:30.060 totally unvetted
00:33:30.860 from the Biden administration.
00:33:33.420 25 million, in my opinion,
00:33:36.180 that would be about 25 million.
00:33:37.940 They came from prisons.
00:33:39.000 They came from mental institutions.
00:33:41.200 They were gang members.
00:33:42.780 They were drug dealers.
00:33:44.360 They came from the Congo.
00:33:46.320 They came from all parts
00:33:48.080 of South America.
00:33:49.200 They came from everywhere.
00:33:50.820 Think of it.
00:33:51.700 Prisons from the Congo
00:33:54.020 being released into the United States.
00:33:56.080 Prisons opened up in Venezuela
00:33:58.280 and many other countries
00:33:59.700 pouring into the United States.
00:34:02.180 And I couldn't believe it.
00:34:03.780 And one of the reasons
00:34:04.440 I decided to run.
00:34:06.360 I decided to run because
00:34:07.500 I don't want to be controversial.
00:34:10.960 But you see what's happened
00:34:11.960 and you see all the information
00:34:13.220 that's come out.
00:34:14.000 We won in 2020 big.
00:34:16.380 And I said, let's run.
00:34:17.820 We got to run
00:34:18.360 because I saw what was happening.
00:34:19.780 And the worst thing
00:34:20.420 that I saw was all of these people.
00:34:22.340 You know, we've already solved inflation.
00:34:24.040 We've solved prices.
00:34:25.600 Oil is way down.
00:34:26.800 Energy is way down.
00:34:27.980 The United States.
00:34:29.380 But what I saw happening
00:34:32.120 with millions of people
00:34:33.480 pouring into our country,
00:34:34.600 I couldn't stand to watch it.
00:34:37.580 And we've done a great job.
00:34:39.040 Nobody, if you've seen the last,
00:34:41.220 I appreciate your question,
00:34:42.380 by the way, nobody,
00:34:43.540 absolutely zero.
00:34:44.960 And I'm not even sure
00:34:45.660 that's possible.
00:34:46.500 But it's a very liberal group
00:34:48.300 that come out with those statistics.
00:34:50.180 The last three months,
00:34:50.960 we had zero.
00:34:52.240 From millions of people a year ago,
00:34:54.360 we had zero people
00:34:55.560 enter our country illegally.
00:34:57.500 And we do have people
00:34:58.440 coming in legally
00:34:59.360 through a legal process
00:35:00.480 and testing
00:35:01.300 and lots of other things.
00:35:02.960 I think it's very important.
00:35:04.480 And we speak about it.
00:35:05.880 And I think your situation
00:35:08.060 is very similar.
00:35:09.160 You know, you have people coming in.
00:35:11.180 And I told the prime minister
00:35:13.000 I would stop it.
00:35:14.200 And it doesn't matter
00:35:15.580 if you call out the military.
00:35:17.140 It doesn't matter
00:35:17.700 what means you use.
00:35:19.020 But it's going to destroy.
00:35:21.060 It destroys countries from within.
00:35:23.340 And we're actually now removing
00:35:24.960 a lot of the people
00:35:25.820 that came into our country.
00:35:27.180 It's a very hard chore.
00:35:28.400 It's a very...
00:35:28.920 We were given a very, very bad hand.
00:35:33.180 Millions of people came in
00:35:34.480 from prisons and mental institutions.
00:35:36.620 We have to remove them.
00:35:38.160 And we are removing them.
00:35:39.500 We have no choice.
00:35:40.400 And I feel very strongly about it.
00:35:42.320 Thank you very much.
00:35:44.040 Jack, let me just deal
00:35:46.500 with the question of returns.
00:35:48.220 Because this is obviously
00:35:51.020 an issue we're taking
00:35:52.360 incredibly seriously.
00:35:53.540 We've struck a number of deals,
00:35:54.720 both on cooperation
00:35:55.960 with other countries,
00:35:56.760 because this is a problem
00:35:58.060 right across Europe,
00:35:59.180 to tackle the problem
00:36:01.200 of actually breaking up
00:36:02.560 the gangs that are running
00:36:03.420 this trade.
00:36:04.660 We have had a record number
00:36:05.980 of returns,
00:36:06.760 over 35,000 now,
00:36:08.440 since we came into office.
00:36:09.900 That's the highest number
00:36:10.800 for the best part of 10 years.
00:36:13.200 We struck the returns arrangement
00:36:15.520 with France.
00:36:17.580 And notwithstanding
00:36:19.180 the challenges to that scheme,
00:36:20.700 which you've seen
00:36:21.280 in the last few days,
00:36:22.840 a flight went off
00:36:23.680 at 6.15 this morning,
00:36:25.640 successfully returning
00:36:27.380 someone under that scheme.
00:36:29.100 So that is an important
00:36:30.480 step forward.
00:36:31.380 Obviously, there's no
00:36:32.300 silver bullet here.
00:36:33.140 There's a range of things
00:36:34.100 that need to be done.
00:36:35.520 But given the challenges
00:36:36.880 of returning people,
00:36:39.000 it is important
00:36:40.120 that we're able to prove
00:36:41.060 it can be done.
00:36:41.960 It was done.
00:36:42.520 It was done early this morning.
00:36:44.540 So I can confirm
00:36:45.460 that that flight went.
00:36:46.460 It went successfully.
00:36:47.940 And I'm pleased about that.
00:36:49.220 Now we need to ramp that up
00:36:50.460 at scale,
00:36:51.220 which was always
00:36:52.000 a scheme.
00:36:54.000 But it's very important
00:36:54.900 that we have been able
00:36:56.020 to prove
00:36:56.700 the proof of concept,
00:36:59.240 if you like,
00:36:59.800 that this can be done
00:37:01.200 and will continue
00:37:01.880 in that way.
00:37:03.280 On the question of energy,
00:37:04.800 firstly,
00:37:05.380 let me be really clear
00:37:06.760 that I am absolutely
00:37:08.600 determined
00:37:09.100 to ensure
00:37:10.700 that the price
00:37:11.720 and cost of energy
00:37:12.680 comes down
00:37:13.540 so that bills come down
00:37:14.680 both for individuals,
00:37:16.300 for families
00:37:16.800 with their household bills,
00:37:18.900 but also for business
00:37:20.420 because this is so important.
00:37:22.580 The mix will include
00:37:23.980 oil and gas
00:37:24.420 for many years
00:37:25.180 to come
00:37:25.600 from the North Sea.
00:37:26.860 We've been clear
00:37:27.520 about that for some time.
00:37:28.800 But we also need
00:37:29.620 to mix that
00:37:30.160 with renewables.
00:37:31.520 And it's the mix
00:37:32.180 that's really important.
00:37:33.500 And the approach
00:37:33.980 I've taken on this
00:37:34.880 is the same approach
00:37:36.160 that I take
00:37:36.560 to many other things,
00:37:37.480 a pragmatic approach.
00:37:38.820 Thank you, Jack.
00:37:39.640 I would like to say
00:37:40.560 that we inherited
00:37:41.820 the worst inflation
00:37:44.200 in the history
00:37:44.920 of our country.
00:37:46.320 We had inflation
00:37:47.400 the likes of which
00:37:48.220 we've really never said.
00:37:49.140 They say 48 years.
00:37:50.420 And I'll accept that,
00:37:51.580 but I really don't.
00:37:52.680 We had the worst inflation
00:37:54.560 in the history
00:37:55.120 of our country.
00:37:55.980 And we had an expression
00:37:58.620 that I used a lot,
00:37:59.580 drill, baby, drill.
00:38:00.500 And as you know,
00:38:01.420 we brought fuel way down,
00:38:02.780 the price is way down.
00:38:04.500 And we don't do wind
00:38:06.280 because wind is a disaster.
00:38:07.760 It's a very expensive
00:38:08.560 joke, frankly.
00:38:10.860 And we got our energy
00:38:12.720 prices way down.
00:38:13.620 That brought the inflation
00:38:14.520 way down.
00:38:15.080 And now we have
00:38:15.520 very little inflation.
00:38:17.060 And we have a very,
00:38:18.140 very strong economy.
00:38:19.320 So that was very important.
00:38:21.480 Drill, baby, drill.
00:38:22.660 And you have a great asset here.
00:38:24.160 And we spoke about it.
00:38:25.360 It's called the North Sea.
00:38:26.620 The North Sea oil
00:38:27.500 is phenomenal.
00:38:28.420 And I hope,
00:38:30.360 because I love this country,
00:38:31.380 you know,
00:38:31.700 my mother was born in Scotland.
00:38:33.800 And the Hebrides,
00:38:35.700 Stornoway,
00:38:36.460 that's Syria, Scotland.
00:38:37.600 We were talking about it.
00:38:38.780 And I want this country
00:38:40.200 to do well.
00:38:41.120 And you have great assets
00:38:42.580 that you're going to start using,
00:38:44.220 I believe,
00:38:44.620 under this prime minister.
00:38:46.280 Thank you.
00:38:47.680 And I've got Matthew
00:38:48.620 from The Economist.
00:38:50.480 Matthew.
00:38:51.220 Thank you, prime minister.
00:38:52.980 Mr. President,
00:38:53.960 you say that
00:38:54.900 President Putin
00:38:56.140 has let you down.
00:38:57.940 Have negotiations
00:38:58.800 run out of road?
00:38:59.820 And what are your next steps
00:39:01.220 to compel
00:39:01.940 an end to this war?
00:39:03.320 Well, he has let me down.
00:39:04.480 I mean,
00:39:04.760 he's killing many people
00:39:05.980 and he's losing more people
00:39:07.560 than he's, you know,
00:39:08.880 than he's killing.
00:39:10.360 I mean, frankly,
00:39:11.280 the Russian soldiers
00:39:12.860 are being killed
00:39:13.520 at a higher rate
00:39:14.280 than the Ukrainian soldiers.
00:39:16.540 But, yeah,
00:39:18.520 he said,
00:39:18.820 let me down.
00:39:19.320 I don't like to see.
00:39:20.180 It's death.
00:39:20.700 You know,
00:39:21.400 it doesn't affect
00:39:22.200 the United States.
00:39:23.060 We have,
00:39:23.860 other than,
00:39:24.360 unless you end up
00:39:24.880 in a world war
00:39:25.700 over this thing,
00:39:26.500 you could.
00:39:27.820 This was a thing
00:39:28.820 that would have never happened
00:39:29.860 had I been president.
00:39:30.860 If I were president,
00:39:31.660 it would have never happened.
00:39:32.700 And it didn't happen
00:39:33.460 for four years.
00:39:34.200 People,
00:39:35.220 most people agree,
00:39:36.280 it didn't happen,
00:39:37.240 nor was it close to happening.
00:39:38.780 And I spoke to President Putin
00:39:40.180 about Ukraine.
00:39:41.020 It was the apple of his eye.
00:39:42.200 I've said that many times.
00:39:43.200 It was.
00:39:44.040 But he would have never done
00:39:45.220 what he did,
00:39:46.300 except that he didn't respect
00:39:47.500 the leadership
00:39:48.060 of the United States.
00:39:49.660 They just went through
00:39:50.600 the Afghanistan total disaster
00:39:52.720 for no reason whatsoever.
00:39:55.080 We're going to leave Afghanistan,
00:39:56.580 but we're going to leave it
00:39:57.260 with strength and dignity.
00:39:58.720 And we're going to keep Bagram,
00:40:00.800 the big air base,
00:40:01.680 that's one of the biggest
00:40:02.560 air bases in the world.
00:40:03.560 We gave it to him for nothing.
00:40:05.480 We're trying to get it back,
00:40:06.780 by the way.
00:40:07.600 Okay?
00:40:07.920 That could be a little
00:40:08.560 breaking news.
00:40:09.320 We're trying to get it back
00:40:10.380 because they need things from us.
00:40:12.800 We want that base back.
00:40:14.540 But one of the reasons
00:40:15.520 we want the base is,
00:40:16.860 as you know,
00:40:17.340 it's an hour away
00:40:18.100 from where China makes
00:40:19.040 its nuclear weapons.
00:40:20.860 So a lot of things
00:40:22.240 are happening,
00:40:22.920 but I am very disappointed
00:40:25.540 in the fact that
00:40:26.640 that one's not settled.
00:40:27.960 To think that we settled
00:40:29.280 Aber, Bajan,
00:40:33.580 and Albania,
00:40:34.860 as an example,
00:40:35.640 it was going on for years.
00:40:37.880 It was never going to be settled.
00:40:40.120 If you remember,
00:40:41.600 the prime minister
00:40:42.340 and the presidents,
00:40:43.700 they were there for many years.
00:40:45.320 They said,
00:40:45.800 when they were in my office,
00:40:46.860 we settled.
00:40:48.220 And they started off
00:40:49.260 at both sides
00:40:50.120 of the Oval Office,
00:40:50.960 so far away.
00:40:51.680 I didn't know
00:40:52.000 you could be so far away.
00:40:53.160 And as we were together
00:40:55.820 for an hour,
00:40:56.620 they kept getting
00:40:57.240 closer and closer.
00:40:58.840 And by the time we finished,
00:40:59.960 we all hugged each other.
00:41:01.680 And one said,
00:41:02.780 I've been in this position
00:41:05.440 for 22 years,
00:41:06.660 and all I've done
00:41:07.840 is kill their people.
00:41:09.680 The other was there
00:41:10.660 for seven years,
00:41:11.460 and all he did
00:41:12.160 was kill their people.
00:41:13.740 And we got it settled.
00:41:15.440 And we did others,
00:41:16.420 as you know.
00:41:17.940 Congo.
00:41:18.560 The Congo, we did.
00:41:19.740 We settled the Congo
00:41:20.640 with Rwanda.
00:41:22.260 That was going on,
00:41:23.920 and that was a machete war.
00:41:25.140 That was a gruesome war.
00:41:27.300 Many people,
00:41:28.120 close to 10 million people,
00:41:29.340 killed.
00:41:29.540 We got that settled.
00:41:31.200 My biggest disappointment,
00:41:32.700 but it's, you know,
00:41:33.800 look, we did seven,
00:41:36.520 and most of them
00:41:37.400 were not thought
00:41:37.980 to be settleable.
00:41:39.940 We did India,
00:41:41.280 and we did Pakistan.
00:41:42.440 That's two nuclear,
00:41:43.300 that was purely for trade.
00:41:44.820 You want to trade with us,
00:41:45.800 you're going to have
00:41:46.160 to get along.
00:41:47.160 And they were going
00:41:48.040 at it hot and heavy.
00:41:49.860 But the Russia situation,
00:41:51.860 I hope we're going
00:41:53.620 to have some good news
00:41:54.420 for you coming up.
00:41:55.960 But, again,
00:41:56.940 it doesn't affect
00:41:57.680 the United States.
00:41:58.840 And he, look,
00:41:59.760 it doesn't so much affect you.
00:42:01.540 Of course,
00:42:01.860 you are a lot closer
00:42:02.680 to the scene than we are.
00:42:03.840 We have a whole ocean
00:42:05.100 separating us.
00:42:06.020 But I will say this.
00:42:07.660 It's millions of people
00:42:10.280 have died in that war,
00:42:11.820 millions of souls.
00:42:13.680 And they're not American.
00:42:14.720 They're soldiers,
00:42:15.360 mostly soldiers,
00:42:16.300 as you know.
00:42:17.380 The soldiers are being killed
00:42:18.520 at levels nobody's seen
00:42:20.140 since the Second World War.
00:42:21.780 But they're being killed,
00:42:23.980 and I feel I have an obligation
00:42:25.340 to get it settled
00:42:26.100 for that reason.
00:42:26.980 Thank you.
00:42:27.580 And just to add
00:42:28.740 on that question,
00:42:29.600 because we have to put
00:42:31.480 extra pressure on Putin.
00:42:33.280 And it's only when the president
00:42:36.120 has put pressure on Putin
00:42:37.640 that he's actually shown
00:42:39.780 any inclination to move.
00:42:41.140 So we have to ramp
00:42:41.960 that pressure up.
00:42:43.000 I think it's important
00:42:43.640 to have this conversation
00:42:44.600 in the context of what's
00:42:45.580 happened in recent weeks.
00:42:46.980 We saw damage and bombing
00:42:49.380 to the British Council in Kiev.
00:42:51.540 These are targets that
00:42:52.560 it was thought until recently
00:42:54.600 were not targets
00:42:55.800 that would be hit.
00:42:56.800 The British Council,
00:42:57.940 the European Union Embassy,
00:43:00.340 the Council of Ministers,
00:43:01.840 where President Zelensky's
00:43:02.820 ministers' work was hit.
00:43:04.980 Again, these were thought
00:43:05.920 to be places
00:43:06.600 that wouldn't be hit.
00:43:08.020 And then the incursion
00:43:09.600 into Poland last week.
00:43:12.580 And if you put that together,
00:43:14.560 what you can see
00:43:15.360 is either an emboldenment
00:43:17.140 or at least an increased
00:43:18.700 recklessness on Putin's part.
00:43:21.100 And that's why I said earlier
00:43:22.000 that they're not the actions
00:43:23.320 of someone who wants peace.
00:43:25.540 So we have to ramp up.
00:43:27.020 And we discussed earlier today,
00:43:28.820 we have built the coalition
00:43:30.840 of the willing
00:43:31.760 with British leadership
00:43:33.040 and French leadership,
00:43:34.700 stepping up with military planning
00:43:36.600 in the seas,
00:43:38.780 in the sky,
00:43:39.860 on the ground,
00:43:41.920 and ramping up
00:43:42.940 what we do
00:43:43.600 with the Ukrainians themselves.
00:43:45.640 And of course,
00:43:46.500 that taken with
00:43:47.260 an American guarantee
00:43:48.600 is now an example,
00:43:50.980 I think,
00:43:51.360 of the challenge
00:43:52.620 of Europe stepping up
00:43:54.240 to the plate,
00:43:54.740 which it has done
00:43:55.460 in the last few months,
00:43:56.500 to show through
00:43:58.060 what we and the French
00:43:58.800 have done
00:43:59.200 that we're prepared
00:44:00.360 to take the lead in this
00:44:01.340 and take the necessary measures.
00:44:03.100 But that's a war
00:44:03.760 that could have been
00:44:04.380 a third world war
00:44:05.340 and I don't think
00:44:05.860 we're going to be there now.
00:44:07.600 But that was heading
00:44:08.420 to a third world war.
00:44:10.500 And what a shame it is.
00:44:12.600 What a shame it is.
00:44:13.860 Mr. President,
00:44:14.340 do you want to call
00:44:15.120 some of the...
00:44:15.820 I would love to call a few.
00:44:17.680 Bev, do you want
00:44:18.360 to have a question?
00:44:19.760 I've got to come back.
00:44:20.340 Bev Turner, GB News.
00:44:22.840 Thank you.
00:44:24.560 Having been in D.C.
00:44:25.800 for a few weeks,
00:44:26.580 it's really interesting
00:44:27.840 to see how you run
00:44:29.160 the country as a proud Christian leader.
00:44:32.240 And it really begs the question
00:44:33.280 to the prime minister,
00:44:34.800 if you don't mind,
00:44:35.340 are we still a Christian country?
00:44:37.800 But also...
00:44:38.680 When you say we,
00:44:39.580 are you talking here or...
00:44:40.620 Here.
00:44:41.520 The UK.
00:44:42.080 I'm still British.
00:44:42.900 I might live in America
00:44:43.580 and I'm still British.
00:44:44.300 I'd rather have him answer that question.
00:44:45.320 I can't give you that answer.
00:44:47.500 That's for the prime minister.
00:44:48.800 But also,
00:44:49.500 despite what we talked about
00:44:51.600 in Scotland a few weeks ago,
00:44:53.100 we still have 12,000 people a year here
00:44:55.940 being arrested for social media posts,
00:44:58.620 for free speech violations,
00:45:00.640 does that not remain an important area
00:45:03.120 that there is still
00:45:04.040 a lot of disagreement on?
00:45:05.300 I'd like to have you answer that.
00:45:06.800 Yeah, look,
00:45:07.300 I mean,
00:45:07.540 in terms of a Christian country,
00:45:09.420 I was christened,
00:45:10.260 so that is...
00:45:12.500 My church has been all my life.
00:45:15.440 And we are...
00:45:17.840 You know,
00:45:18.020 that is wired into
00:45:19.480 our informal constitution.
00:45:22.520 Of course,
00:45:22.980 we celebrate many other faiths as well,
00:45:24.540 and I'm really proud
00:45:25.320 that we're able to do so
00:45:27.020 as a country.
00:45:28.200 And on free speech,
00:45:29.700 that has long lived
00:45:31.820 in this country,
00:45:32.820 free speech.
00:45:33.500 It's one of the founding values
00:45:35.220 of the United Kingdom,
00:45:37.460 and we protect it
00:45:38.800 jealously
00:45:39.820 and fiercely
00:45:41.500 and always will.
00:45:43.580 And we will bear down
00:45:44.680 on any limits
00:45:45.980 on free speech.
00:45:47.640 I draw a limit
00:45:48.900 between free speech
00:45:50.280 and the speech
00:45:52.500 of those
00:45:52.960 that want to peddle
00:45:54.280 paedophilia
00:45:55.300 and suicide
00:45:57.460 social media
00:45:59.060 to children.
00:46:00.840 And therefore,
00:46:01.460 I'm all for free speech.
00:46:03.540 I'm also for protecting
00:46:04.580 children
00:46:05.120 from things
00:46:06.840 that will harm them,
00:46:08.460 paedophiles,
00:46:09.880 those that peddle
00:46:10.640 suicide,
00:46:11.640 which has had
00:46:11.900 a terrible consequence
00:46:12.940 for individual,
00:46:14.920 particularly teenagers.
00:46:15.740 And so,
00:46:17.560 that's the balance
00:46:18.600 we strike.
00:46:19.180 But we have had
00:46:19.980 freedom of speech
00:46:20.880 in this country
00:46:21.400 for a very long time,
00:46:22.820 and we will always protect it.
00:46:25.420 Thank you.
00:46:25.960 Thank you very much.
00:46:26.760 Brian, please.
00:46:28.140 Thank you.
00:46:28.920 Prime Minister,
00:46:29.560 it's good to see you again.
00:46:30.960 You have a beautiful country.
00:46:32.020 Thanks for having us.
00:46:33.060 Thank you.
00:46:33.340 Two questions.
00:46:34.380 One,
00:46:34.920 just recently,
00:46:35.820 President Trump
00:46:36.540 labeled Antifa
00:46:38.140 domestic terrorist.
00:46:39.980 Would you consider
00:46:40.600 doing something like that
00:46:41.600 in your country?
00:46:42.220 Well,
00:46:43.780 we obviously
00:46:44.980 will
00:46:45.880 take decisions
00:46:48.260 for ourselves.
00:46:49.220 I don't want to comment
00:46:49.900 on the decisions
00:46:51.100 of the president,
00:46:52.500 but we
00:46:53.700 take our decisions
00:46:55.060 ourselves.
00:46:56.760 And my question
00:46:57.660 to you,
00:46:57.980 President Trump,
00:46:58.600 is there any update
00:46:59.820 on the auto pin?
00:47:02.340 Yeah.
00:47:03.180 It's just gotten worse
00:47:04.200 from their standpoint.
00:47:06.020 The people
00:47:07.540 that used it,
00:47:08.980 in particular,
00:47:10.120 one person,
00:47:11.040 was never told
00:47:11.860 by Biden
00:47:12.400 to do it.
00:47:13.440 Only spoke
00:47:14.220 to Biden twice,
00:47:15.240 and that was just
00:47:15.900 talking about the weather,
00:47:17.940 not talking about
00:47:18.700 any order.
00:47:20.000 And he was taking
00:47:20.920 orders from people
00:47:22.720 other than Joe Biden.
00:47:24.380 Joe Biden
00:47:24.820 wasn't giving
00:47:25.360 those orders.
00:47:26.760 You know,
00:47:27.000 Joe Biden
00:47:27.420 didn't believe
00:47:27.920 in open borders.
00:47:29.920 He didn't.
00:47:30.340 I've known him
00:47:30.840 for a long time.
00:47:32.400 He was never
00:47:33.000 the brightest bulb
00:47:34.740 in the ceiling,
00:47:35.580 as we know.
00:47:37.380 You can go back
00:47:37.960 40 years ago
00:47:38.860 and you'll see that.
00:47:40.260 Go back
00:47:40.660 and take a look
00:47:41.260 at the hearings
00:47:41.980 on Justice Thomas
00:47:43.660 and you'll see
00:47:44.500 that very much.
00:47:47.120 But he didn't believe
00:47:49.080 in open borders
00:47:49.860 and all of this nonsense
00:47:51.020 that they're peddling now,
00:47:52.300 which is why
00:47:52.780 they're not in office
00:47:53.600 any longer.
00:47:54.920 It's a shame.
00:47:57.880 The auto pin
00:47:58.440 was illegal.
00:48:00.820 It was illegally used.
00:48:02.000 He never gave the orders.
00:48:03.000 He never told them
00:48:03.700 what to do.
00:48:05.260 And I guess
00:48:05.700 the only one he signed
00:48:06.580 or one of the few
00:48:07.280 he signed
00:48:07.720 was the pardon
00:48:08.380 for his son.
00:48:09.620 But you had
00:48:10.460 the congressman
00:48:12.760 who,
00:48:14.620 when they got
00:48:15.040 the information,
00:48:15.840 they found out
00:48:16.340 they were guilty
00:48:16.980 and they deleted
00:48:18.700 and destroyed
00:48:19.400 all information,
00:48:20.800 everything.
00:48:21.220 You couldn't get
00:48:21.660 any of it.
00:48:22.640 They found out
00:48:23.300 that Nancy Pelosi
00:48:24.320 actually was offered
00:48:25.500 the 10,000 soldiers
00:48:26.820 and she turned them down.
00:48:28.740 They found out
00:48:29.680 many things
00:48:30.300 that were very bad.
00:48:31.220 So they deleted
00:48:32.160 and destroyed
00:48:33.100 all information.
00:48:34.380 You talk about
00:48:34.920 freedom of the press
00:48:35.740 and freedom of speech.
00:48:36.740 How about that one?
00:48:38.180 And there's not a thing.
00:48:39.480 This is after a year
00:48:40.520 and a half of hearings.
00:48:42.340 They destroyed everything.
00:48:44.780 And somebody's
00:48:47.340 got to be held responsible.
00:48:48.960 So Biden,
00:48:50.540 what he did is they knew.
00:48:51.880 I don't think he knew,
00:48:52.980 but somebody knew.
00:48:53.960 I don't think Biden
00:48:54.520 had a clue about anything
00:48:56.000 if you want to know
00:48:56.640 the truth.
00:48:57.420 But they gave a pardon
00:48:59.200 to those congresspeople.
00:49:01.600 They gave a pardon.
00:49:03.200 Those people are so guilty.
00:49:04.700 They gave a pardon.
00:49:05.340 But Biden didn't know about it.
00:49:07.660 The people,
00:49:08.340 whether it's Lisa
00:49:09.740 or any of those people
00:49:11.760 in there
00:49:12.100 that really ran it,
00:49:13.660 I know them all.
00:49:16.140 And they're sick people.
00:49:17.180 They're smart people.
00:49:17.940 They're very smart.
00:49:18.560 They're probably brilliant,
00:49:19.520 but they're sick
00:49:20.140 in ideology.
00:49:22.080 And they were running
00:49:23.420 the autopilot.
00:49:24.800 And it was totally illegal
00:49:26.380 what he did.
00:49:27.140 And I hope it's going
00:49:28.060 to be so adjudged.
00:49:29.480 Do you want to take one more
00:49:30.280 and then I'll get back?
00:49:30.880 Some British.
00:49:31.800 Let's see.
00:49:33.200 Peter, go ahead.
00:49:34.000 Thank you, President Trump.
00:49:37.780 In the deal
00:49:38.540 that you're working on
00:49:39.480 for the Chinese
00:49:41.020 to sell TikTok
00:49:42.200 to an American buyer,
00:49:43.860 are the Americans
00:49:45.000 going to have to come up
00:49:45.820 with their own algorithm?
00:49:47.720 Or are they going to continue
00:49:48.840 to use the successful
00:49:50.840 but addictive
00:49:51.820 Chinese algorithm?
00:49:53.320 So what we're doing
00:49:54.360 and we're speaking
00:49:55.100 to President Xi on Friday
00:49:56.900 to see if we can finalize
00:49:58.120 something on TikTok
00:49:58.920 because there is
00:49:59.820 tremendous value
00:50:00.740 and I hate to give away value,
00:50:02.220 but I like TikTok.
00:50:03.180 I, it helped get me elected.
00:50:05.480 In fact, Charlie said,
00:50:07.460 sir, you ought to get
00:50:08.500 on TikTok.
00:50:09.140 You'd be great.
00:50:09.720 I said, really?
00:50:10.320 Tell me about TikTok.
00:50:11.140 And we, as you know,
00:50:12.840 we did unbelievably well
00:50:14.100 with youth,
00:50:15.080 like at a level
00:50:16.040 that no Republican
00:50:16.980 has ever even dreamt of.
00:50:19.120 And in, you know,
00:50:19.960 look, I think we won it
00:50:20.880 for a lot of reasons,
00:50:21.740 but that was a reason
00:50:22.640 we won the election
00:50:23.540 by such a big number.
00:50:26.720 TikTok has tremendous value.
00:50:29.980 The United States
00:50:30.880 has that value in its hand
00:50:32.380 because we're the ones
00:50:33.300 that have to approve it.
00:50:34.220 I specifically get
00:50:35.280 the right to approve it.
00:50:36.540 The people that are investing
00:50:38.060 it are among the greatest
00:50:39.640 investors in the world,
00:50:40.900 the biggest, the richest,
00:50:41.960 and they'll do a great job.
00:50:43.420 And we're doing it
00:50:44.540 in conjunction with China.
00:50:46.540 But we are getting,
00:50:47.960 the United States
00:50:48.780 is getting a tremendous fee plus.
00:50:51.440 I call it a fee plus
00:50:52.360 for just making the deal.
00:50:54.140 And I don't want to throw
00:50:54.880 that out the window.
00:50:56.120 I can say this,
00:50:57.460 that you'll have a lot
00:50:58.920 of very unhappy youth.
00:51:00.580 And I use TikTok
00:51:01.740 very legitimately,
00:51:03.420 very straight,
00:51:03.980 just statements every day.
00:51:05.680 I do little statements,
00:51:06.420 short statements.
00:51:07.340 Sir, make it short, please.
00:51:08.580 And TikTok Jack,
00:51:09.920 we call them.
00:51:10.460 It was pretty good.
00:51:11.560 Did a good job for me, I guess.
00:51:13.500 But no, I'd rather
00:51:15.100 reap the benefits.
00:51:17.300 I mean, the kind of money
00:51:18.540 we're talking about
00:51:19.260 is very substantial.
00:51:20.700 And it'll be owned
00:51:21.660 by all American investors
00:51:23.200 and, you know,
00:51:24.180 the best investors
00:51:25.160 and the, you know,
00:51:26.680 very rich people
00:51:27.800 and companies
00:51:28.480 are going to be owning it.
00:51:29.460 Very, very straight,
00:51:30.800 very legitimate countries,
00:51:32.120 companies,
00:51:32.700 and really companies
00:51:34.380 that love America.
00:51:35.500 So they're going to be owning it.
00:51:36.940 It's a big thing.
00:51:38.160 And on a much bigger scale,
00:51:40.040 and probably that's why
00:51:41.100 we were able to get that,
00:51:42.800 but on a much bigger scale,
00:51:44.060 we're pretty close to a deal.
00:51:45.140 We may do an extension
00:51:46.060 with China,
00:51:46.780 but it's an extension
00:51:47.600 based on the same terms
00:51:48.780 that we have right now,
00:51:49.800 which are pretty good terms.
00:51:51.260 And Mike,
00:51:51.880 thank you for Prime Minister Starmer.
00:51:53.640 If you feel so strongly
00:51:54.760 about officially recognizing
00:51:56.900 Palestine for statehood,
00:51:59.340 why are you waiting
00:52:00.120 for President Trump
00:52:00.820 to leave the country?
00:52:02.060 Why can't you just do it right now?
00:52:04.060 And isn't there a risk
00:52:06.460 in rewarding Hamas with that?
00:52:09.760 Well, let me be really clear
00:52:10.840 about Hamas.
00:52:12.240 They're a terrorist organization
00:52:13.580 who can have no part
00:52:15.580 in any future governance
00:52:17.260 in Palestine.
00:52:19.400 And what happened
00:52:20.760 on October the 7th
00:52:21.940 was the worst attack
00:52:23.800 since the Holocaust.
00:52:25.420 We have extended family in Israel.
00:52:27.640 I understand firsthand
00:52:29.360 the psychological impact
00:52:31.700 that that had across Israel.
00:52:35.300 So I know exactly where I stand
00:52:36.980 in relation to Hamas.
00:52:38.140 Hamas, of course,
00:52:38.800 don't want a two-state solution.
00:52:41.000 They don't want peace.
00:52:42.560 They don't want a ceasefire.
00:52:45.200 So I'm very clear
00:52:45.920 where I stand on Hamas.
00:52:47.740 On the question of recognition,
00:52:49.620 I made my position clear
00:52:51.320 at the end of July
00:52:52.040 as to the timing,
00:52:53.240 which has got nothing to do
00:52:54.320 with this state visit.
00:52:55.900 And I've discussed it
00:52:57.560 with the President,
00:52:58.500 as you would expect,
00:52:59.780 amongst two leaders
00:53:00.760 who respect each other
00:53:02.020 and like each other
00:53:03.080 and want to bring about
00:53:04.220 a better solution
00:53:05.860 in the best way that we can.
00:53:07.580 Thank you so much.
00:53:08.120 Can I go back then
00:53:09.220 to Robert at ITV?
00:53:13.360 Robert Pearsson, ITV.
00:53:15.700 Mr. President,
00:53:16.540 you uniquely,
00:53:18.440 you alone in the whole world,
00:53:20.340 have the power
00:53:21.760 to persuade Prime Minister Netanyahu
00:53:24.460 to stop the demolition
00:53:25.920 of Gaza City,
00:53:27.180 to stop the starvation
00:53:28.480 of Palestine,
00:53:30.240 and to stop the killing
00:53:31.220 of civilians.
00:53:33.880 If not now,
00:53:35.600 when will you exercise
00:53:37.000 that power
00:53:37.860 to tell him
00:53:38.440 to stop?
00:53:40.120 Sure.
00:53:40.320 And then for both of you,
00:53:42.420 on.
00:53:42.460 But you do understand
00:53:43.400 about October 7th.
00:53:44.120 I've got that.
00:53:45.380 You do understand.
00:53:46.000 Believe me, I understand about it.
00:53:46.920 One of the worst days
00:53:49.340 in the history of humanity.
00:53:51.480 What happened,
00:53:52.280 I have seen the tapes.
00:53:54.780 Babies that are four months old
00:53:56.700 and just chopped up to pieces.
00:53:58.980 And you've seen the tapes
00:54:00.240 and I've seen the tapes.
00:54:01.380 You're a professional
00:54:02.120 and so am I.
00:54:03.580 And people forget
00:54:04.620 about October 7th.
00:54:05.920 I can't forget about it.
00:54:07.220 So I want it to end.
00:54:09.100 But I want the hostages back.
00:54:10.980 I don't want the hostages
00:54:12.120 used as human shields,
00:54:13.780 which is what Hamas
00:54:14.820 is threatening to do.
00:54:15.840 But as soon as they're back,
00:54:16.820 that's the moment
00:54:17.500 you will tell Netanyahu
00:54:18.980 to stop.
00:54:19.020 Well, it would certainly help,
00:54:20.540 but I have to have
00:54:21.100 the hostages back.
00:54:22.340 And I don't want them back
00:54:23.300 piecemeal, as I said before.
00:54:24.740 I want them back.
00:54:26.520 And on a separate issue,
00:54:29.240 free speech,
00:54:30.540 your vice president,
00:54:32.860 Vance said that free speech
00:54:35.240 is under attack in the UK.
00:54:37.580 Do you agree with him
00:54:38.640 and Prime Minister?
00:54:39.740 We saw the dismissal
00:54:41.560 of a very well-known
00:54:43.280 chat show host in America
00:54:44.540 last night, Mr. Kimmel.
00:54:46.700 Is free speech more
00:54:47.900 under attack in Britain
00:54:48.860 or America?
00:54:50.160 Well, Jimmy Kimmel was fired
00:54:51.260 because he had bad ratings
00:54:52.240 more than anything else.
00:54:53.340 And he said a horrible thing
00:54:54.480 about a great gentleman
00:54:55.460 known as Charlie Kirk.
00:54:57.040 And Jimmy Kimmel
00:54:58.080 is not a talented person.
00:55:00.160 He had very bad ratings
00:55:01.160 and they should have fired him
00:55:02.100 a long time ago.
00:55:03.100 So, you know,
00:55:04.060 you can call that free speech
00:55:05.260 or not.
00:55:05.960 He was fired for lack of talent.
00:55:08.480 Yeah, please, go ahead.
00:55:09.080 Yeah, I mean, firstly,
00:55:10.260 on the question of Charlie Kirk,
00:55:11.420 can I just express
00:55:13.880 how shocking that is,
00:55:15.540 I think,
00:55:16.080 to everybody who believes
00:55:17.360 in free speech
00:55:18.240 speech and in democracy
00:55:20.140 and it sent shockwaves
00:55:23.560 through the world.
00:55:26.060 And I know that he was a friend
00:55:28.060 of the president
00:55:29.000 and I reached out straight away
00:55:30.780 to the president
00:55:31.340 because I understood
00:55:32.400 how impactful it would be
00:55:33.740 on him and his family.
00:55:35.520 And we all need to
00:55:36.840 be absolutely clear about that.
00:55:38.700 Whatever our political views,
00:55:40.420 it is shocking
00:55:41.140 and is to be condemned.
00:55:43.720 On free speech,
00:55:44.620 I'll not much to add
00:55:46.280 to the answer I gave earlier.
00:55:47.940 This country's had free speech
00:55:49.340 for a very, very long time.
00:55:51.480 It is part of who we are
00:55:53.020 as a country
00:55:54.060 and it is the values
00:55:56.660 that we fought for.
00:55:57.620 We fought for it
00:55:59.140 during the Second World War
00:56:00.200 alongside each other.
00:56:01.380 So we need no reminding
00:56:03.580 of the importance
00:56:04.320 of free speech
00:56:05.000 in this country.
00:56:05.760 Thank you, Robert.
00:56:06.640 And I go to Beth
00:56:09.020 for the final question, please.
00:56:10.220 Beth.
00:56:11.860 Thank you so much.
00:56:12.900 Sky.
00:56:13.680 Thank you.
00:56:14.320 Beth Rigby, Sky News.
00:56:15.200 Thank you, Prime Minister.
00:56:16.260 If I could start with you.
00:56:18.380 Prime Minister,
00:56:19.140 President Trump has said
00:56:20.240 he's ready to impose
00:56:21.720 Moses sanctions on Russia
00:56:23.640 if NATO countries
00:56:24.880 stop purchasing Russian oil.
00:56:27.360 He's got a point, hasn't he?
00:56:29.240 Is that what you now believe
00:56:30.980 is needed to bring Putin
00:56:32.660 properly to the table
00:56:33.880 and watch your message
00:56:35.240 to the president
00:56:35.960 on U.S. sanctions?
00:56:37.540 And, Mr. President,
00:56:38.680 if I may,
00:56:39.880 the UK, the King praised
00:56:41.560 your personal commitment
00:56:42.760 last night
00:56:43.440 to finding solutions
00:56:44.880 to the world's most
00:56:46.000 intractable conflicts.
00:56:48.580 You have invested
00:56:49.640 much of your time
00:56:50.660 and effort in Ukraine.
00:56:52.200 But even as you seek
00:56:53.340 to broker a deal,
00:56:55.100 President Putin
00:56:55.780 is escalating the war.
00:56:57.120 He's firing drones
00:56:58.140 into NATO, airspace.
00:57:00.620 You say he has let you down.
00:57:03.280 Was it a mistake
00:57:04.260 to invite him to Alaska?
00:57:06.340 Do you regret it?
00:57:07.460 No.
00:57:07.840 And is it time
00:57:08.380 to squeeze him, sir,
00:57:09.880 and scare him
00:57:10.840 and impose sanctions?
00:57:12.580 And finally, if I may,
00:57:14.240 the elephant in the room,
00:57:15.780 Lord Mandelson,
00:57:17.340 he is no longer
00:57:18.300 the ambassador.
00:57:19.420 Do you have some sympathy
00:57:20.660 with him
00:57:21.600 that he lost his job
00:57:23.220 over historic links
00:57:25.120 to Jeffrey Epstein?
00:57:26.300 Thank you very much, sir.
00:57:27.180 I don't know him.
00:57:27.840 Actually, I had heard that
00:57:29.640 and I think maybe
00:57:31.420 the prime minister
00:57:32.140 would be better
00:57:32.800 speaking of that.
00:57:34.000 That was a choice
00:57:34.800 that he made.
00:57:35.440 And I don't know.
00:57:36.600 What is your answer to that?
00:57:37.860 Well, I mean,
00:57:38.400 it's very straightforward.
00:57:40.080 Some information
00:57:40.900 came to light last week
00:57:42.060 which wasn't available
00:57:42.840 when he was appointed
00:57:43.600 and I made a decision
00:57:44.520 about it
00:57:45.960 and that's very clear.
00:57:48.420 On the question
00:57:49.580 of the pressure
00:57:51.660 on Putin
00:57:52.520 and on Russia,
00:57:54.300 which is obviously
00:57:54.780 really important.
00:57:55.940 Look,
00:57:57.040 I think it is
00:57:58.360 a challenge
00:57:59.120 to Europe.
00:58:00.240 There are a number
00:58:00.720 of European countries
00:58:01.840 which are too reliant
00:58:04.080 on energy
00:58:05.760 from Russia.
00:58:07.280 The UK actually,
00:58:08.860 obviously,
00:58:09.540 has almost got nothing
00:58:10.920 at all.
00:58:11.400 But we do need
00:58:12.260 to bear down
00:58:12.720 and work with
00:58:13.100 our European counterparts
00:58:14.500 here.
00:58:15.560 There are one
00:58:16.060 or two countries,
00:58:16.800 I think,
00:58:17.180 that do need
00:58:18.340 to look again
00:58:19.160 at the question
00:58:20.320 of energy.
00:58:20.920 There's no one
00:58:21.580 silver bullet here.
00:58:22.800 We do have to have
00:58:23.600 a wider suite
00:58:24.340 of sanctions
00:58:25.480 which we've put
00:58:26.160 in place
00:58:26.620 a number of times
00:58:28.020 working across Europe
00:58:29.940 and with the United States.
00:58:32.860 And, of course,
00:58:33.580 we must
00:58:34.040 and we are
00:58:35.520 making sure
00:58:36.220 that Ukraine
00:58:37.220 is in the strongest
00:58:38.600 position now
00:58:40.780 because one
00:58:41.380 of my long
00:58:41.900 concerns here
00:58:42.960 has been that
00:58:43.400 whilst we talk
00:58:44.020 about a ceasefire
00:58:44.720 and we all
00:58:45.220 want a ceasefire
00:58:46.040 and we talk
00:58:47.880 about what might
00:58:48.440 happen after a ceasefire,
00:58:49.720 we mustn't forget
00:58:50.700 that Ukraine
00:58:51.540 needs our support
00:58:52.400 now.
00:58:52.920 We've said
00:58:53.320 we stand
00:58:53.760 with Ukraine
00:58:54.220 from the start
00:58:54.920 to the finish
00:58:55.400 and that means
00:58:55.960 we must continue
00:58:56.840 to supply them
00:58:57.840 with what they need
00:58:58.640 in order to
00:59:00.020 fight this war
00:59:01.620 which, of course,
00:59:02.880 resulted from
00:59:04.600 and is a result
00:59:05.220 of Russian aggression.
00:59:07.260 We have particularly
00:59:08.440 done the sort
00:59:10.320 of leadership role
00:59:11.020 in the coalition
00:59:11.580 of the willing
00:59:12.080 so that if there
00:59:12.940 is a ceasefire
00:59:13.640 and if there is a deal
00:59:14.440 and I do hope
00:59:15.060 there is,
00:59:15.920 that he's then lasting
00:59:16.980 and not then broken
00:59:19.100 because given
00:59:21.020 previous history,
00:59:23.120 I don't trust Putin.
00:59:24.420 Thank you.
00:59:25.100 Very simply,
00:59:25.860 if the price of oil
00:59:26.700 comes down,
00:59:27.440 Putin's going to
00:59:28.120 drop out.
00:59:29.300 He's going to have
00:59:29.680 no choice.
00:59:30.220 He's going to drop
00:59:30.820 out of that war.
00:59:32.140 And when I found out
00:59:33.320 that the European nations
00:59:34.420 were buying oil
00:59:35.220 from Russia
00:59:35.900 and as you know,
00:59:37.880 I'm very close to India.
00:59:39.920 I'm very close
00:59:40.420 to the Prime Minister
00:59:41.560 of India.
00:59:42.140 I spoke to him
00:59:42.660 the other day,
00:59:43.380 wished him a happy birthday.
00:59:44.420 We have a very good relationship.
00:59:45.700 He put out
00:59:46.080 a beautiful statement too.
00:59:47.220 We have,
00:59:48.020 but I said,
00:59:49.000 you know,
00:59:49.220 I sanctioned them.
00:59:51.400 China is paying
00:59:52.160 a very large tariff
00:59:53.280 right now
00:59:54.160 to the United States
00:59:55.260 but I'm willing
00:59:56.320 to do other things
00:59:57.180 but not when
00:59:58.100 the people
00:59:59.200 that I'm fighting for
01:00:00.200 are buying oil
01:00:01.880 from Russia.
01:00:02.820 If the oil price
01:00:04.340 comes down
01:00:04.940 very simply
01:00:05.560 Russia will settle
01:00:06.420 and the oil price
01:00:07.500 is way down.
01:00:08.240 You know,
01:00:08.420 we got it way down.
01:00:09.400 We're drilling
01:00:09.840 and we produce more oil
01:00:11.780 than anybody else
01:00:12.540 in the world.
01:00:13.120 We're doing a lot
01:00:13.820 but I was disappointed
01:00:15.400 to see that
01:00:16.200 and the Prime Minister
01:00:17.000 was disappointed
01:00:17.760 to see that
01:00:18.540 and it wasn't him.
01:00:19.640 It was other countries
01:00:21.420 and you can't do that.
01:00:23.740 You can't do that.
01:00:24.480 You can't.
01:00:24.780 That's not playing fair
01:00:26.760 with the United States
01:00:27.740 and we can't have that.
01:00:29.340 Thank you.
01:00:29.760 Thank you very much indeed.
01:00:30.980 Thank you.
01:00:31.540 Thank you.
01:00:32.120 Thank you.
01:00:32.160 Thank you.
01:00:33.220 Thank you.
01:00:33.260 Thank you.
01:00:33.280 Thank you.
01:00:33.320 Thank you.
01:00:33.720 Thank you.
01:00:34.380 From Checkers,
01:00:39.280 a almost one hour
01:00:40.180 press conference.
01:00:41.180 We've still got
01:00:41.700 Dr. Peter Navarro.
01:00:42.740 Let's go to
01:00:43.380 Dr. Navarro.
01:00:44.900 First off,
01:00:45.620 we don't have Dr. Navarro.
01:00:48.260 He left for his 11 o'clock.
01:00:51.280 Okay.
01:00:53.040 Right there,
01:00:53.720 you saw
01:00:54.160 President Trump
01:00:56.580 in a wide range
01:00:57.600 of topics.
01:00:58.440 I think one of the most
01:00:59.880 controversial,
01:01:00.600 obviously,
01:01:00.960 is this huge deal
01:01:01.940 for the power
01:01:02.880 artificial intelligence.
01:01:04.180 Does it have restrictions?
01:01:05.140 Is it tied to
01:01:06.160 any restrictions
01:01:07.480 on
01:01:08.080 free speech?
01:01:12.480 I thought
01:01:13.020 Starmer's
01:01:13.920 answers to the question
01:01:15.680 were pretty weak.
01:01:16.460 Of course,
01:01:16.940 people know
01:01:17.480 I'm not a Starmer fan.
01:01:18.680 This was,
01:01:20.480 I think,
01:01:20.900 considered,
01:01:21.480 and particularly
01:01:21.800 in the United Kingdom,
01:01:22.580 was President Trump
01:01:23.260 doing a solid
01:01:24.020 for Starmer,
01:01:25.020 this deal.
01:01:26.060 And you had
01:01:26.520 some of the top
01:01:27.200 business guys
01:01:27.900 in the world there.
01:01:28.780 The typical names,
01:01:29.720 Larry Fink,
01:01:30.640 went over for this
01:01:31.380 business meeting.
01:01:33.620 Steve Schwartzman
01:01:34.580 was there.
01:01:35.060 Larry Fink was there.
01:01:36.280 There was just a host
01:01:37.620 of folks,
01:01:39.840 of business folks there.
01:01:41.220 Tim Apple
01:01:41.900 was there.
01:01:43.780 So,
01:01:44.300 a whole host
01:01:44.840 of folks
01:01:45.320 to back this up.
01:01:46.760 You have this huge
01:01:47.300 nuclear power deal
01:01:48.020 plus other deals,
01:01:49.000 but it's driven
01:01:49.520 by artificial intelligence.
01:01:51.040 We're going to get
01:01:51.360 some experts
01:01:51.940 on AI,
01:01:54.380 really people
01:01:54.900 that are,
01:01:55.800 I think,
01:01:56.400 what you call
01:01:56.820 decelerationist,
01:01:58.580 right?
01:01:59.160 Decelerationist
01:01:59.600 will join us here
01:02:00.140 in a moment
01:02:00.560 on this new book,
01:02:03.700 If Anyone Builds It,
01:02:04.880 Everyone Will Die,
01:02:05.780 which is kind
01:02:07.640 of a gripping title.
01:02:09.200 Let's just hit a reset.
01:02:10.360 A great question
01:02:11.060 in there
01:02:11.380 about Antifa
01:02:13.580 being designated
01:02:14.500 as a terrorist organization.
01:02:16.640 Of course,
01:02:16.980 Antifa's roots
01:02:17.700 are in Germany
01:02:18.400 and in Italy.
01:02:20.000 They got French
01:02:20.900 low countries,
01:02:22.680 et cetera,
01:02:23.180 operations in England.
01:02:26.160 Starmer completely
01:02:26.900 passed on that,
01:02:27.780 but the designation
01:02:29.160 of Antifa
01:02:31.180 gets to the bottom
01:02:32.720 of all of it.
01:02:33.680 You saw today
01:02:34.340 in the cold open,
01:02:35.160 the squirming
01:02:35.920 of all of it,
01:02:37.620 et cetera.
01:02:38.300 What if he had
01:02:39.260 the brightest mind
01:02:40.200 in the war room
01:02:41.000 delivering critical
01:02:42.160 financial research
01:02:43.260 every month?
01:02:44.800 Steve Bannon here.
01:02:45.880 War room listeners
01:02:46.540 know Jim Rickards.
01:02:47.600 I love this guy.
01:02:49.040 He's our wise man,
01:02:50.020 a former CIA,
01:02:51.220 Pentagon,
01:02:51.660 and White House
01:02:52.180 advisor
01:02:52.600 with an unmatched
01:02:53.880 grasp of geopolitics
01:02:55.260 and capital markets.
01:02:56.680 Jim predicted
01:02:57.280 Trump's Electoral
01:02:58.000 College victory
01:02:58.820 exactly 312
01:03:00.920 to 226,
01:03:02.260 down to the actual
01:03:04.140 number itself.
01:03:05.940 Now he's issuing
01:03:06.900 a dire warning
01:03:07.760 about April 11th,
01:03:09.300 a moment that could
01:03:10.160 define Trump's presidency
01:03:11.500 in your financial future.
01:03:13.580 His latest book,
01:03:15.040 Money GPT,
01:03:16.060 exposes how AI
01:03:17.180 is setting the stage
01:03:18.200 for financial chaos,
01:03:19.660 bank runs
01:03:20.320 at lightning speeds,
01:03:21.460 algorithm-driven crashes,
01:03:23.280 and even threats
01:03:24.280 to national security.
